okay clovey baby here’s my analysis <3 but before that I’m so glad you’re feeling better & your family is safe !<3
So when I first started reading I’m like “okay! Damn here we go!” But then as I’m reading I’m like “who tf is this!?” & then I found out it was Yoongi & I was like đŸ€ȘđŸ€ȘđŸ€Ș. But then I read that the time skip was TWO MONTHS!!! Two months of no jk!!!?!? That little shit didn’t show his face all that time?! in my last ask I mentioned how it’d be crazy if they fell off for a bit (I did not imagine 2 months, I love it tho bcs as you know, certified slut for angst!) & yoongi would show her why she doesn’t need jk (we all know she does) & that’s exactly what happened! Unbeknownst to jk (or maybe not👀) while he was too busy with his head stuck up his ass, yoongi & Oc have been spending all this time together. Blowing her back out? Flowers? Weekly outings to eat? :(((( YOONGI IS SO YUMMYYYY. I wonder how jk felt seeing oc looking all pretty in her Halloween costume! & I also noticed how there was no interaction mentioned between the friend group & jk during the party, the only time we saw him was because oc had to use the bathroom. So it made me wonder, was jk watching oc & yoongi dancing on the dance floor & all close up together from afar?! Was he in the bathroom trying to get his shit together, only to come out & be met with the source of his internal conflict? (Remember I’m an overthinker, so this is me doing just that) I can also agree with the other anons, that I full on thought that oc would catch jk & one of his girls coming out the bathroom looking properly fucked. I’m glad oc didn’t have to go through that :( The phone call between her & tae? Omg so cute, total bestie vibes when they start talking about Jin & joon! But then when he starts mentioning the camping trip??? My heart dropped to my ass too because I started thinking
what if he actually heard oc & jk & not joon&jin !!!! Also the whole Tae having a key thing???? Yeah, I see that going LEFT very quick! Now. jk showing up after literal months! Soaking wet from the rain? Drunk!? I would’ve wanted to shut the door in his face too if he wasn’t in the state he was in! Oc is a literal angel taking such gentle care of him, the getting down on her knees to take of his shoes, showering him, brushing his teeth, skin care, combing his hair, dressing him up?!???? Literal wifey vibes or mommy vibes if you will. I know for a fact that level of domesticness (dk if this is even a word) definitely made jk fall even more! Who wouldn’t? It pisses me off how he waited this long! & how he showed up in a state where you can’t even yell at him because he’s so drunk & vulnerable, it wouldn’t even feel right or fair. I hate how he admits he was “fine” without her & he could’ve kept up if he basically never saw her again. I hate how he’s so sweet & fessing up, even though he not sober :(. I loved the parallel between when she apologized & now him. The way he spoke the words she wrote out for him :( the way she turned her back to him this time :( but wait, him saying he’s in loveeee??? Is he actually though? I hate to ask because I’m just thinking about his attactchment issues, so is this him maybe confusing the two? Did he maybe love her before they even started sleeping together? Bcs from what I recall, their recent relationship has been made up of lots of cute banter, occasional fucking, lots of intimate kissing but not really too much getting to know each other, like in a bonding sense. So maybe did he like her before & then fall in love during the new untitled relationship they started? Or should she really not listen to him because he’s drunk? I have a personal conflict between the whole “drunk thoughts are sober feelings” thing so maybe this is me projecting. But I wanna hear him explain how/when he feel in love with oc because I still haven’t forgot about tae saying he thinks he’s still in love with his ex! I hate how he walked hour on her again, it seems like a pattern now. He needs to put on his big boy pants and learn to communicate & not run away. Each time he does he always leaves oc in a vulnerable state :( I absolutely loved this chapter & hope that
 hold up 1/2
i enjoyed reading this so much i read it twice 😭 thank u for this! i was giggling reading ur questions cause i know the answers hehehehe
yesyes. i love u. thank u.
it will all become clear in due time

Drunk
Hi Monuma! This idea is fucking adorable and I love it! Drunk clingy Davey is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it!!
àŒ„àŒ„àŒ„àŒ„àŒ„àŒ„àŒ„àŒ„àŒ„
David was supposed to be home by now. He was supposed to work with some clients for an upcoming job, do some paperwork, then come home. So why wasn't he here and it was almost midnight? Angel sat on their bed thinking of all the possibilities on why their husband wasn't home yet. Maybe he was caught up with some work? No, he would've texted them already. Maybe he was just with Milo and Asher. The three of them have been hanging out a lot lately. No, he still would've texted them that he was gonna be hanging out with them. So why wasn't he here? A voice from downstairs shook Angel from their thoughts. "Adi! Dad's drink again!" Gabe, their son, called. "Wait, what? Hold on, I'm coming." Angel called out and got up from their bed. When they arrived downstairs they didn't expect to see Milo and Asher holding a very drunk David Shaw between them.
"Ash? Milo?" Asher looked up and smiled at Angel. It also caused David to look up and smile. "ANGEL!" David said and started to wriggle from Asher and Milo's grip. "Hey hey! Hold one David!" Milo said, trying to stop David's moving before they dropped him. Asher and Milo walked over to the couch and dropped David there. He fell with a big "OOF," and flopped down against the cushions, turning into a giggling mess. "So is this why I didn't know where my husband was?" Angel asked, standing behind the couch. He ran a hand through his arm and David leaned into it, making cute whining noises. "Yeah, kinda. Sorry about that. But, we did get him back safely!" Asher smiled. Angel sighed and nodded, waving a hand towards Milo and Asher. "Thank you for bringing my very drunk husband home. You guys can leave and go back to your mates partially sober." Milo snorted and crossed his arms. "I'll have you know I'm fully sober. Who do you think drove us here. It's Ash who is partially sober."
"Hey!" Angel laughed and shook their head. They walked over to the two wolves, pushing them out the door while they continued to bicker about who was sober. "Goodbye, Milo and Asher!" Angel laughed and closed the door. Even though the door Gabe and Angel could hear the two wolves bicker, even as they walked to their car. Turning, Angel sighed and looked at their husband and son. "So, what do we do about dad?" Gabe asked, walking over to David. He sat down next to him and instantly David grabbed him in a hug. "Gabe, my son, my pride and joy, I love you so so so SO much!" David said, his words mumbled and slurred. "Whaaaa?"
"Ignore your father, he just gets cuddly when he's drunk," Angel explained. David continued to nuzzle into his son's neck and hold him in a death grip cuddle until Angel pressed a kiss to his head. "Davey, c'mon. We need to get you undressed and get you upstairs. Gabe get a glass of water please?" Angel said once they had freed their son. Gabe got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen. "Alright, Davey. We gotta get you into something more comfortable and upstairs."
"Mmmmm nooooo. I wanna cuddle with yooooou." The minute Angel got close enough David grabbed them and pulled them into a hug. It was a much tighter hug than what he had pulled Gabe into. He practically laid on top of them as he placed sloppy, drunken kisses on their neck. "Davey! No! You gotta lemme go so we can put you to bed!" Angel said, trying to push David's face from their neck, but they were significantly weaker than him in every physical way. "What's happening? Is this something I should see?" Gabe had come back from the kitchen, a glass of cold water in one hand and another covering his eyes. "Davey! C'mon Gabe's here! You gotta get off baby." David mumbled something into Angel's neck as he continued kissing down their neck.
"No, don't want to," David said, which was barely audible with how close his face was. "You gotta. C'mon. The quicker you get in bed and some pajamas, the quicker you can go back to cuddling me." David stopped kissing their neck to think for a minute before letting Angel go from his grasp. "Thank you, Davey. Now here," Angel took the glass from Gabe and handed it to David. "drink this. It'll help." David begrudgingly took the glass and chugged it. "Don't drink so fast you'll choke!" As if on cue David coughed, spitting up the water in his hand. "I'll get a napkin." Angel sighed while patting David on his back. "Thank you, Gabe."
David continued coughing into his hand until Gabe came back. Angel took the paper towel he hand and wiped David's hand. "Alright. You've had water, choked on it, and spit it up. C'mon, let's get your shoes off." Angel felt like they were taking care of Gabe as a toddler all over again while they untied his boots. Gabe got his left shoe off while Angel got his right. "Thanks, Gabe. I needed your help." Gabe smiled and grabbed his dad's shoes, placing them in a shoe rack next to the door. "No problem Adi. You need help taking dad upstairs?" Angel started to shake their head no before thinking against it and nodded yes. They had taken care of a drunk David before and getting him upstairs by themself was something they never wanted to do again."You get his left side, I got his right." Gabe nodded and grabbed his dad's arm, helping to lift him with his Adi. Even with the two of them lifting him and walking him up the stairs, David was still heavy as hell.
After about 8 minutes of waking up the stairs - David was making it very difficult to get upstairs with how many times he started wriggling around - Gabe and Angel got David into bed. "Thanks again, Gabe. I don't think I would've gotten your, dad, upstairs without you." Angel sighed and wiped at the sweat on their forehead. "It's fine Adi. I like helping you and Dad out. Even if he is a big cuddle bug when he's drunk." That made Angel laugh. "I promise I'll take you out tomorrow after school to show my thanks." Gabe perked up at that and smiled. "Can we go get ice cream? With the others in the pack?" Angel laughed and ruffled his hair, pressing a kiss to his head. "Yeah, we can get ice cream tomorrow with the pack." Gabe smiled even wider and cheered, jumping up and down. "You can go back to your room so you can call the others. I've got him from here."
"Thanks, Adi!" Gabe smiled, hugging Angel before running out of their room. Angel smiled at their son and turned back to their husband, who was making grabby hands to his spouse. "You said that once we got to the room I could get cuddles. Gimme." Angel laughed again and walked over to the bed. "I need to get you undressed first so you're not uncomfortable. Then cuddles, okay?" David pouted and Angel pressed a kiss to his lips. "Fiiiiiiine. Undress me." Angel pressed another kiss to his lips and smiled. "Thank you, Davey." They started taking all the uncomfortable stuff off first, a belt and jeans. Then his shirt. They weren't even going to attempt putting him in clothes so they just left him in shorts.
"Cuddles. Now please." Angel laughed and crawled into bed with David. He wrapped his arms around them as they laid their head on his chest. "G'night Angel. I'm going to sleep." David said and almost immediately passed out. "Night Davey."

Hey can you do something like the y/n is a wizard and she’s still practicing her spells, so she accidentally turns Shawn’s behavior into a baby and has to take care of him like a man child until she fixes him again đŸ€Ș
A/N: Hi anon! Thank you for sending me this, it was really fun to write. I changed your idea a little to make it fit the story, I hope you’ll like it!
.
Summary: Practicing spells on your best friend without getting them checked by a qualified person isn’t always the smartest idea, especially when you’re not sure of how they might affect their behavior.
.
“You can’t do that,” Shawn argued for the hundredth time. “It’s science,”
“Shawn, we’re at a wizarding school. Nothing is science, it’s magic,” You wiggled your fingers at him.
“You can’t just put a spell on someone so that they stop being drunk, it can’t be safe.”
“It’s safe, I promise. Worst case it won’t do anything, it’s simple and harmless.” You had checked it over and over again, and you knew the risk was minimal.
“You can’t just make someone sober with a spell,” He adjusted his books in his arms and you rose an eyebrow, he usually believed in you a lot more than that.
“I can and I will, I got the spell, I just need to try it on someone.” It was the last phase, you had worked on the wand movement to make sure you wouldn’t create a spell that might be hurtful, you checked the words to see which ones to use, it just needed to be tested.
“Try it on me.” Shawn shrugged.
“What?”
“Yeah, I’m your best friend. If it’s safe then you can try it on me.” He repeated and you smiled, it was insane but it was so typical of him to volunteer himself like that for your crazy ideas.
“Fine. We’ll do it tonight, in the east corridor, it’ll be empty for sure.” You jumped up and down excitedly.
“Deal,” Shawn grinned.
He was always down to try insane things, but he also knew that if there was any chance you thought the spell could hurt him you wouldn’t do it. You parted ways to your classrooms with a wave and you had to stop yourself from skipping to your seat. You had worked on this idea for fun but it had taken a lot of time, you couldn’t just mess around with spells, and you were ecstatic at the idea of seeing it work.
.
“Are you sure you’re ready?” You checked just in case he wanted to back out.
“Bring it on,” He smirked, he was as excited as you although a little anxious about what it might do to him.
“It shouldn’t do anything since you’re sober, so we’ll need to get you drunk to try it next time.” You explained as you drew your wand out.
“Let’s just see if this works,” He laughed and took a few more step backs with his arms open.
“Reverso sobrius!” You waved your wand in a practiced motion with the words. “Shawn?”
“It’s spinning!” His giggle reached your ears after a few seconds of silence. “Uh oh,” He caught his balance by leaning on a wall and sunk down to the floor as he laughed.
“Shawn? Fuck, are you okay?” You jogged over to him and put a hand on his shoulder.
“I feel so floaty,” He tugged on one of your curls and watched it bounce with a laugh.
“Look at me,” You held his face in your hands worriedly while he kept on giggling.
“This is so much fun,” His smile was contagious, but the seriousness of the situation kept you from laughing with him.
“Shawn? Do you feel drunk?” You realized that might be your problem, if the spell was meant to reverse one state to the other it could work both ways.
“Soooo drunk,” He slurred and laughed again for no apparent reason.
“Alright, I’m going to try the spell again,” You put a safe distance between you before getting your wand back out. “Rerveso sobrius!” The spell touched him but it didn’t seem to affect him.
“What are you doing?” He pushed himself up and stumbled forward. “This is too fun,”
He rambled for a little while as you tried to help him stand. It was hard when he was over a head taller than you, and he wouldn’t listen to you. He was saying the most random things and you were too worried to try to understand him.
“Shawn, can you please stand?” You pleaded, he was so heavily leaning on you that you knew you would both be on the floor very soon.
“You’re cute,” His chest shook with a giggle and he wrapped both of his arms over your shoulders. “Sooo cute,”
“Shawn-”
“Even when you say my name it’s cute.” He towered over you and your cheeks burned.
“We need to move, let’s go back to the common room.” You kept your goal in mind, trying not to let yourself get distracted by how close he was standing.
He doesn’t mean anything by it, he’s just drunk.
“Your curls are so cute,” His fingers toyed with your hair.
“Shawn please,”
“You’re just cute.” He looked at you intensely, his cheeks and lips flushed with the same shade of bright pink.
“Hey, do you want ice cream?” You changed tactics because he wasn’t going to listen unless you said something that interested him.
“Ice cream?” His whole face lit up and he suddenly looked more focused on what you were saying.
“Yes, ice cream, but for that you’ve got to come back to the common room with me.” You were glad it worked and you were planning on exploiting it until you could bring him somewhere safe.
“Let’s go!” He grabbed your hand and tugged you through the corridor at a pace that had you tripping on your own feet.
“No, Shawn!” You forced him to slow down because if he got caught seemingly drunk he would probably be in big trouble and you with him. “If you want ice cream you need to be good. You’ve got to follow the rules otherwise we won’t be able to get to it.”
“Fine,” He grumbled and looked at his feet. “What rules?” He glanced up at you with a pout.
         What an absolute man-child.
“If we run into anyone you can’t talk, you let me say anything that needs to be said.”
“But-”
“No buts.” You lifted a finger and he shifted from foot to foot. “You don’t talk to people, you don’t run, and we try our best no to be seen until we get to the common room. Deal?”
“Can we watch a movie?” He gave you his best puppy eyes and you knew you’d have to watch over him until the spell wore off.
“If you do all of that you can have my ice cream and pick the movie.” You negotiated and his answer was immediate.
“Yes!”
“Shh, voice down.” You hushed him. “Give me your hand.”
“Okay cutie,” He grinned, happily linking his fingers with yours and waving your hands back and forth as you walked.
He stayed relatively quiet and you avoided a disaster when the headmistress almost turned into the corridor you hid in to avoid her.
“Y’know I mean it,” Shawn eventually said as he looked at your linked hands and you let him play with your ring. “You’re too cute.”
“You’re lucky you’re my best friend,” You chuckled because you wouldn’t have had the patience with anyone else. “We’re almost there,”
There were only three people in the common room so you sneaked Shawn into the girl’s side of the dormitories and into your room without anyone noticing or caring.
“You’ve still got to be quiet for a bit, I’ll bring the ice cream.”
“Don’t leave me.” He pouted and held your hand against him.
“I’ll be right back Shawn, ice cream, remember?”
“You’ll come straight back?”
“Pinky promise,” You waited for him to free your hand so that you could link your pinkies.
“I’ll be good,” He sat on your bed and you nodded with a smile because he was too damn adorable.
You quickly went to the freezer you shared with a few other girls to retrieve the ice cream, there wasn’t much in there besides it anyway. Most people went home for the holidays but you were stuck here and Shawn decided to wait before visiting his family so that he could spend more time with you. It was a lot calmer than when you had school and no one was checking that boys and girls were in the right room after nine.
With your roommate gone you could easily have Shawn over tonight without anyone noticing, and if you got a complaint about the noise you would blame it on a movie.
“Hey, I’m back,” You smiled softly when you found him sitting in the corner of your bed with his back against the wall and your big teddy bear in his arms. His head was resting on top of the brown fur and it was the most adorable thing you had ever seen. “Do you still want ice cream?”
“I want cuddles.”
“The ice cream will melt if we don’t eat it,” You explained, knowing that he changed his mind easily. There was always a lot going on in his head and he switched topics easily, but when he was sober it was usually in a ways that made sense.
“But I haven’t picked the movie yet!”
“Alright, tell me what you want to watch.” You knew there was no point in arguing with him, this was your fault and you’d watch over him until you were sure he’d be okay.
“Shrek!”
“God you’re such a child,” You laughed and grabbed your laptop to find it. “Here’s your spoon, just don’t eat too fast.”
“Yes!” He grabbed it from you, his rosy cheeks standing out even more when he was so close to a white wall. “What about cuddles though?”
“Give me a second to find the movie,” You focused on what you were doing and didn’t notice him leaving the ice cream on your nightstand. You only felt him when his head nudged your arm so that he could curl his body with his head in your lap to look at you. “Hi there,”
“Hi,” He smiled softly. “You’re cute,”
“You’re cute too,” You brushed a curl off his forehead. “Let me just find the movie,” He nodded and didn’t move until you put the laptop down and the movie started. “So cuddles, uh?”
“Can I please be the little spoon?”
“I don’t know what I wouldn’t do for you,” You shook your head with a smile and made sure your laptop wouldn’t fall off the bed before sliding behind Shawn.
You fit your body against his and he shuffled back to be as close as possible before taking your hand and holding it to his chest.
“Are you watching?” You murmured once the movie started.
He was so calm that you weren’t sure he was awake, and you gave up on the ice cream because you weren’t about to put it back in the freezer when he had your hand in his hold. You assumed he was focused on the movie because he didn’t speak and barely moved until he turned around to face you.
“You’re not watching,” You pointed out with a small smile and he shook his head no, sending his curls flopping around.
“I’m watching you,” He was smiling stupidly and you laughed. “You’re cute.”
“You’re an idiot,” You fell on your back when he tried to come closer and forgot you weren’t nearly as strong as he was.
“You’re really really pretty.” He didn’t seem to mind pushing you and stayed half on top of you.
“You’re still an idiot,” You teased him, he was clumsy and fell all the time but the way he held your face was gentle and surprisingly calculated in his state.
“Your cheeks are squishy,” He laughed and pushed them together softly.
You were feeling more than warm underneath him, and while you were never short of hugs with Shawn you had never been in such an intimate position with him. You laughed it off because you couldn’t stay serious with everything he was saying.
Your laugh stopped abruptly when his lips met yours in a short kiss. Your brain stopped working and you didn’t move for a few seconds while you registered what he just did.
“Can I kiss you again?” He asked, his lips an inch away from yours.
         Yes
“No,” You breathed out against your will, his lips were still so close that it was hard for you to think.
“M’sorry,” He rolled off and curled up on the bed with one of your pillows, his back turned to you.
“Shawn,” You touched his shoulder softly.
“Are you mad at me?” His voice was quiet and you wanted to hug him again.
“Of course not, look at me,”
“I don’t wanna,”
“Alright, well you better listen then,” You rubbed his shoulder. “I’m not mad, I just don’t want to talk about anything serious while you’re pretty much drunk. I promise we’ll talk as soon as I know you’re back to normal.”
“You’re not mad?” He turned just enough to look at you and you shook your head.
“No, let’s just watch the movie okay?”
“Can we still cuddle?”
“Yeah we can still cuddle,” You wrapped your arms around him and he tucked his head against your shoulder, the movie long forgotten.
You spent the night close to him, checking that he was asleep. You knew he’d be fine in a few hours, and as long as he was in your arms you were sure nothing could happen to him. You had a fond smile on your face after all of his confessions and the kiss.
God the kiss. You weren’t about to forget it yet you could barely remember it. It was short and sweet, it wasn’t enough but it was everything at the same time. It proved that maybe Shawn wanted the same thing as you, it just wasn’t enough to satisfy you. You needed a real kiss (maybe more than one) and you needed it to last a lot longer than that.
His arms clutched you closer when you shuffled to adjust your arm and you soothed him by running your hands over his back. You knew he’d be awake soon enough and that you’d be able to talk. He was right there with you and you watched over him to keep him safe until your eyes closed and you drifted off with him.

Every last Friday of the month, you go out for drinks with Nina. It's a tradition you started a while back. You'd gotten back from a particular rough job, and Nina suggested to go and have a drink. The others were tired, so you were the only one to accompany her. Ever since, the two of you go out every last Friday of the month.
Sometimes you both make it back in time, sometimes you don't show up til morning. And sometimes you're leaning heavily on each other, giggling and laughing.
The crows didn't mind now, though they were a bit concerned at the beginning. But after you showed them that even drunk, Jesper is only a slightly better shot than you are, they trusted you to come back home alright.
On one Friday night, you and Nina stumble into the kitchen of the Slat somewhere around 2 am. You're surprised to see it's not empty.
Kaz is sitting in one of the chairs, and he looks up when you and Nina try to silently enter the building. You fail when you stumble and squeal as you hold on to Nina's arm to prevent yourself from falling.
Nina seemed to be less drunk than you are. At least she can stand on her own feet.
Kaz' eyes follow you as Nina drags you to the kitchen to get you a glass of water, hoping it would sober you up a little.
You hop on the counter and take the glass from Nina without protest. When you look at Kaz, you see he's turned his gaze away from you.
'Aren't you going to ask if we had fun?' you say, pouting slightly.
Kaz looks at you. You're wearing a dress that's only reserved for nights out with Nina. You're also wearing heels and though you'd styled your hair nicely before you went out, it's now messy as it falls over your shoulders.
'You look like you had fun.' says Kaz. 'But I'll ask anyway. Did you have fun?'
'Yesss.' you say, dragging out the word. You don't look up when Nina puts a new glass of water in your hand.
'You should come sometimes.' you say to Kaz.
He merely raises an eyebrow, and doesn't answer you.
'I don't think Kaz is the type of person who goes out a lot.' says Nina.
'But it's fun!' you say somewhat offendedly. 'If anyone needs to let loose every once in a while, it's Kaz.'
'How so?' says Nina, chuckling.
'His jaw is always clenched.' you point out.
'No it's not.' says Kaz.
You nod, smiling happily. 'Yea it is! Don't think I wouldn't notice, I look at you a lot.' you say.
'Do you, now?' says Kaz, not paying much attention to you, as you're drunk and probably not aware of what you're saying.
'Most of the time. All of the time.' you say. 'Just a lot, really.'
'You're drunk, Y/N.' says Kaz. 'You should go to bed.'
'Night's not over yet!' you say and you jump off the counter, spilling some of the water on yourself. 'We could still go out! You should join us, Kaz.'
'I think you should go to bed, Y/N.' says Nina.
You glare at her over your shoulder. 'Buzz killer.' you say.
Nina puts up her hands in defence. 'I'm just saying tonight I'm not going out anymore, I'm going to bed. And you should too.' she says.
When she walks past you, she gives you a new glass of water. You're not aware of taking it, but you drink half of it anyway.
'Nina, you should stay.' you say when she walks to the door. 'Don't leave me alone with Kaz!'
'Why not?' says Kaz immediately, his curiosity getting the better of him.
You turn to him, then back to Nina. 'Nina! Don't leave me alone with Kaz, you know I say stupid shit when I'm drunk!' you say.
She looks over her shoulder. 'You say a lot of things when you're drunk, Y/N. At least drunk words are sober thoughts.' she says as she walks away.
'Nina come back! I might end up exposing myself!' you say.
This makes Nina stop and turn around. She looks at you and frowns.
'Expose yourself how?' she says.
'I might tell Kaz I love him.' you whisper, loud enough for everyone to hear.
You see Nina's eyes go wide. Before you can say anything, or turn around to look at Kaz, Nina's marched up to you, grabbed a hold of your arm and is pulling you up the stairs.
In the doorway, you look over your shoulder at Kaz.
There's an odd expression on his face you can't quite read, you've never seen it before. He doesn't look at you as you start to walk up the stairs with Nina's help.
You barely register anything after that moment, the exhaustion suddenly kicking in. You fall down on your bed without even taking your heels off.
The next morning, you wake with a pounding headache despite all the water Nina made you drink. You push yourself up in a sitting position and rub your head.
None of the crows had been so stupid to wake you. Everyone knew the last Friday of the month was spent drinking, and the morning after it would be unwise to wake you or Nina before noon.
After stripping off your tight dress and heels, you take a hot bath, scrubbing all of the sweat of last night off of your skin.
You get dressed in comfortable clothes and head downstairs to get a big cup of coffee.
But when you want to enter the kitchen, you are met by Nina standing in the doorway.
'Oh good, you're up.' she says.
'Morning.' you say. 'How's your headache?'
'Almost over.' she says. 'Don't go into the kitchen.'
'Why not?' you say, frowning.
'Because Kaz is there.' says Nina.
'What, is he in a bad mood or something?' you say.
'No. But he hasn't said anything all morning.' she says.
'So he's normal.' you say, pushing past Nina.
She attempts to stop you, but you walk away from her, straight to the fresh pot of coffee. You pour yourself a generous amount of it, and then sit at the same table Kaz is sitting at.
He looks at you, but doesn't say anything.
'You good?' you say after a while. 'I'm sure that's the longest you've ever looked at me. Have I got something on my face?'
Kaz shakes his head.
'Then why are you looking at me like that?' you say.
'Do you remember anything from last night?' asks Kaz.
You squint your eyes, trying to remember.
'Nina and I played card games with some Zemeni tourists. They lost. Then we lost. Then we lost again. I don't think I threw up, though. I remember walking back to the Slat and going to bed.' you say.
'That's all?' says Kaz.
'Yeah, I think that's it.' you say. 'Why?'
'Just curious.' says Kaz.
'You're never just curious, Kaz, you always have a reason. What's this all about?' you say.
'Fine.' he says. 'I have a bet with Jesper, how much you would remember. It appears he needs to pay me.'
He gets up and without another word, he leaves the room. Your eye catches Nina's gaze and you shrug, turning back to your coffee.
'Did I do something stupid last night?' you say. Most of the times when you got drunk, you did stupid stuff. You wonder if last night would have been any different.
'Well.' says Nina as she sits down in front of you. 'That depends.'
'On what?' you say as you finish your coffee.
'You should talk to Kaz about that.' says Nina. 'He doesn't have a bet with Jesper.'
'Then why would he leave like that?' you say.
'Again, you should talk to him about that.' says Nina.
'What aren't you telling me, Nina?' you say.
You see her debating wether or not she should tell you.
'Tell me or I'll tell everything how horrible you dance when you get drunk.' you threaten.
'You told kaz you love him.' she blurts out.
Your eyes widen. 'Oh no.' you say. 'No, no, no, I did not. Fuck.'
'Well, you didn't exactly tell him. You told me not to leave you alone because you might end up telling him.' says Nina
You bury your face in your hands. 'Oh, Saints, this is bad.' you say. 'This is really fucking bad.'
'How so?' says Nina.
'He's still technically our boss, Nina. And there's no way he has the same feelings for me.' you say.
'You won't know unless you ask him.' says Nina.
'What would I even say to him?' you say.
Nina shrugs. 'Well you could sit here thinking about it, or go up to his office and talk to him.' she says.
You shake your head and rub a hand over your face. 'Fuck.' you mutter. 'You're probably right.'
'I always am, darling.' says Nina.
You finish your cup of coffee and get up. Nina gestures for you to start walking. You head to the stairs and walk them as slowly as you can.
Would he be mad? What if things would forever be awkward between the two of you? Maybe if you were fast, you could still take it back. You were drunk, you could tell him you didn't mean it.
You stop in front of the door to Kaz' office. You determinedly raise a hand to knock on it, but your fist only hovers mid-air.
'It helps if you actually knock.'
You jump slightly at the sound of a voice. When you turn around, you see Kaz standing behind you.
'Or you could just go in if you have a key.' he says, walking up to the door and pulling out his key.
You're at loss for words, watching as Kaz opens the door and head inside. You're still standing in the doorway when Kaz looks up.
'You can come in, you know.' he says.
You enter his office and slowly close the door. He did not seem bothered by last night at all.
'We need to talk.' you say.
Kaz looks at you and merely raises an eyebrow at you. He gestures to the chair in front of his desk and you sit down.
'About last night.' you say. 'Nina told me what I said. I didn't say it to you, but, well I might as well have. I was drunk and it was stupid, and I'm here to apologise.'
He looks at you and then he starts to smile. Your eyes widen a bit, you'd never seen Kaz smile. Let alone smile at you.
'Are you okay?' you say hesitantly.
'Y/N, I wasn't in my office when you got here because I was at your door.' says Kaz, his words taking you by surprise.
'Why?' you wonder out loud.
'I was going to bring you a glass of water, Nina once told me it helps when you're hungover.' says Kaz.
Your lips part in surprise. 'You were?' you say.
'That saying Nina said last night, drunken words are sober thoughts? Well, I'm glad your drunken self decided to speak the truth last night.' says Kaz.
You stare at him, not sure you heard it correctly. Kaz pulls a stack of papers toward him and begins to read through them. He doesn't tell you that you need to go, so you decide to keep him company while he works.
Who knew a night out with Nina could lead to something like this?
