Note
When you qualify to be a personal trainer would you take online clients? Like from other countries? I want to look into getting a personal trainer but I don't know any that I trust yet
🥺
I'm not sure if I will pursue it as a career because I'm mostly doing it because my work is paying for me to do it! And Im not looking for a side gig at the moment. But! I will revisit this🤔
If anything, once I learn (and I'm taking a small break right now from doing the course lol) I would be happy to give unofficial advice/help with a training plan (for free). Unofficial so don't sue me 😌

Tiny Dancer
Read it on AO3 HERE
Minako swept into the onsen carrying a bottle of sake and three huge bags. “Where are they,” she demanded as she strode towards Toshiya. She handed the sake over to him with a slight bow.
Toshiya took the sake from her with another graceful bow before stepping out from behind his counter and leading her back into the family space. There, bundled up on the cushions in their living room, Hiroko reclined with a small bundle in her arms. Her face was drawn, but her smile was as wide and welcoming as always as she greeted Minako. Minako sank down on a cushion next to her and peered down at the little package. She gasped when a little head turned her way and large eyes blinked up at her.
“Oh Hiroko, Toshiya, he’s precious,” she said. “I brought things from tour for him and for Mari-chan. Oh! And I just finished the renovations on that studio above the bar so I’ll be starting dance classes there shortly. I know you were looking for something for Mari-chan to burn off some energy.”
--------
“Minako-senpai, we’re here!” Hiroko exclaimed as she came into the studio with Yuuri on her hip and Mari holding her hand. Mari reluctantly let go of her mother’s hand and walked over to join the group stretching near the barre.
Minako smiled and walked over to gather Yuuri up from Hiroko before going to the front of the studio and starting class with the tiny figure in her arms. His eyes tracked from her face to the small children in front of her and he buried his face in her shoulder. Minako kept holding him through the entire first part of the class, making him giggle when she suddenly whirled up onto her toes demonstrating the spin for her beginners. It was only when everyone moved to the barre and she had to make corrections that she surrendered him back to his mother.
--------
Minako rested her head in her hand leaning against the table as she drank and watched the soccer game playing on the TV in the onsen lounge. Toshiya and his friends were cheering and dancing around the room, but she was quietly waiting for the game to end so that she could claim the TV for the start of the skating program. Yuuri was sitting next to her, calmly playing with some blocks and tuning out the ruckus around them.
One block toppled off the pile and rolled out of his reach. Minako watched as the little one struggled to reach his arms further and his little face puckered up in concentration. After struggling for several moments, she could see him start to put some pieces together as he put his hands down on the edge of the table and wiggled back and forth to gather his chubby legs under his diapered butt. He rocked back and forth a couple of times and then pushed up off the ground, holding the table edge and putting his feet firmly underneath him. Minako’s eyes widened as Yuuri stood for the first time and reached out to get his block. He was wobbly, but standing.
“Hiroko!! Toshiya!!” the excited woman called out, “He did it!”
Hiroko bustled out of the kitchen with her hands already over her mouth. She was smiling so widely, but a little tear shone in her eyes when she saw her baby supporting himself on the table. Toshiya wrapped his arm around his wife as the group watched Yuuri get his block. Even the customers in the room stopped celebrating long enough for the chubby hand to wrap around the block and drag it back.
Then, just as suddenly as he’d stood, Yuuri plopped back down on his butt, looking startled at how fast the descent had happened. His chin wobbled, but before he could start to cry, Minako had him gathered up in her arms, snuggling him close. Hiroko dropped to her knees next to them and the two women cooed and praised the baby for how big and strong he was.
--------
Mari shuffled into the class with a pout on her face. Hiroko followed slowly, bent over slightly to let Yuuri hold her finger as he toddled beside her. Minoko looked up and clasped her hands over her mouth at the sight of Yuuri’s stumbling steps.
Oh Hiroko, look at him,” she breathed out.
“Yeah, he’s getting into everything,” Mari muttered to the girl next to her at the barre.
“Brothers.” the girl grumbled back as they shared a moment of sibling camaraderie.
“Minako, watch this,” Hiroko said as she stood next to Yuuri and gently shook his hand free from her finger, “Yuuri, show Minako what you practiced with Mari today.”
Yuuri looked up to his mother and then over to Minako and Mari with his big eyes and took a tiny step back.
“Go on, you can do it,” Hiroko encouraged.
Yuuri stepped forward again and looking over to make sure Hiroko was watching him, raised both arms up over his head and rose up on his tiptoes, turning himself in a slow and wobbly, but very clear dance spin. Coming to stop facing Minako again, he very slowly and carefully shifted his weight to one foot and lifted the other in a tiny arabesque.
Minako cheered, “Beautiful Yuu-kun!”
Yuuri looked up at her and stuck one finger in his mouth, chewing on it nervously as he peeked over at his sister. Mari sighed and stuck her arms out towards him. Yuuri toddled across the room and Mari gave him a hug and a pat on his head.
“Good boy, that was just as we practiced,” she said. Yuuri beamed.
--------
Yuuri clung to his mom’s hand as he used his other hand to fiddle with the hem of his shirt as they walked over to the studio together.
“Are you excited to start classes today?” Hiroko asked.  Yuuri hummed and nodded his head vigorously. He’d been asking for lessons with Minako almost as long as Mari had been begging to get out of them. Hiroko grinned down at the four-year-old bouncing along beside her.
As they entered the studio, Yuuri dropped his mother’s hand to run across the room to Minako. “Min-ko-sensei, lookit my tights!,” he cried out doing a little twirl in front of her. He pointed one foot in front of her, “And my shoes!”
“Very good Yuu-kun. You look just right for class,” she said reaching down to help tug the shirt down over his black tights. “Now go stand with Ami-chan and we’ll get started.” Yuuri nodded and looking over to the little girl in braids, walked over to stand next to her.
“Everyone. This is first position. Do your best!”
--------
“Minako-senpai, I just don’t know what to do. Yuuri’s teacher called today to say he’d been hiding the closet at school today after lunch again. And I can tell he’s been crying. But he says nothing is wrong.”
“Oh Hiroko, let me see what I can find out after class today when Yuuri’s doing his extra stretching. You may want to check with Mari-chan also. You know she watches him very closely these days since that boy shoved him on the beach.”
“Thank you. I just want to know what is going on at school and to make sure he’s alright.”
That afternoon Yuuri arrived at class as promptly as ever and immediately began stretching. Minako watched him as she greeted the other seven year olds arriving and noticed that with each arrival, Yuuri would look up and then shrink back, making himself smaller and turning away from the others. Ami sat next to him, but the others seemed to leave more space than usual. Minako tightened her lips, but she had class to run and could only watch for now.
Throughout that day’s class Minako noticed that only Ami directly interacted with Yuuri. Everyone else either ignored him completely or shot dirty looks at him. By the end of class, Yuuri had moved himself all the way to the back corner and was dancing in his own world. Minako admired his form, noting that she needed to work on his turnout slightly and that she really did need to talk to Hiroko about putting him in the advanced class even though it would be early.
“Yuuri-kun,” Minako said as class packed up, “stay a moment will you? I need to talk with you.” She noted that Yuuri startled and that his forehead creased. She also noticed a bunch of heads turn away quickly and whispers start up as the rest of the class left. Minako decided that next class was going to concentrate on plies. Lots of plies.
Once she was sure the last of the others was out of the studio, she turned to Yuuri with her hands on her hips. Yuuri stood, not quite looking at her and shifting his weight from foot to foot. Minako sighed, “Alright kiddo. What’s the story.”
Yuuri looked up and Minako’s heart broke to see the tears in his eyes. “Hiroshi-san says only girls do ballet and he said no one should hang out with me because I’m pretending to be a girl,” Yuuri choked out after a minute of sniffling and shaking his head. “I know that’s not true Minako-sensei, you showed us all those videos!” Yuuri continued, “But they keep shoving me a school and leaving notes in my cubby.”  He ran over to his pack and pulled out a handful of notes with words like Fatty and Baby written on them to hand over to Minako.
“Oh Yuuri-kun, why didn’t you tell your mother about this?” Minako asked.
Yuuri sniffled again, “I didn’t want her to pull me from lessons and I thought if she knew they were teasing me at school she would.”
Minako chuckled, “Yuuri, I don’t think you have to worry about that, now let’s get you home and we’ll talk about what we’re going to do to handle this.” She reached out and rumpled the little boy’s hair. “Come on.”
Three days later, Minako-sensei led an intensive ballet workshop during gym at Yuuri’s school. Yuuri was the only one able to walk home that afternoon.
--------
Minako tapped her lip as the children moved through the simple choreography for the upcoming recital. It was becoming increasingly clear that Yuuri was not only the best dancer in her young group, but he was also better than a number of her intermediates. But Minako knew his body was too young to move him to harder classes.
She and Hiroko had a number of conversations about how they could encourage Yuuri without pushing him to injury. Minako had plans for Yuuri and they didn’t involve stress fractures at eight.
Minako looked out the studio window as Yuuko bounced down the stairs from the studio and hoisted her skate bag on her shoulder to head to her skating lesson after ballet. Minako’s eyes widened with a sudden thought, there was something new for Yuuri. And he already knew Yuuko from lessons. She knew Hiroko and Toshiyo would agree since they’d just been talking about finding more activities for him just last night.
Minako spun up onto her toes in glee. “Yuuri-kun! Come with me, I’ve got something fun for you to try.”
The little boy with the big brown eyes looked up at his sensei and reached out to take her hand as they started to walk towards the ice rink.

Basket Case: A @cssecretsanta2k18 AU
For @lifeinahole27, with my apologies for the delay. Happy New Year!
also on ff.net and ao3
Basket Weaving for Beginners.
It wasn’t exactly Emma Swan’s idea of a wild Thursday night. Spending an evening cooped up in an elementary school classroom, taking instruction from an aging hippie about how to craft ugly home furnishings from twigs. But it was on the list. And this year, Emma was sticking to her list.
New Year’s Resolution #3: Take up a new hobby.
Okay, so maybe it hadn’t exactly specified that she take up basket weaving, but it had to be something. It wasn’t Emma’s fault that by the time she’d fished the Adult Education brochure out from the random assortment of junk mail she had piling up, it was the only class left in the course catalog that still had available spaces.
Not unless she felt like taking up Fly Fishing for Beginners, and frankly, she didn’t.
New Year’s Resolution #9: Stop leaving junk mail piled up on the hall table.
So. Basket Weaving. For Beginners. How bad could it be?
Her first impressions weren’t bad. It was just it had been years since she’d been in a proper classroom, and she’d forgotten how colorful they could be. Laminated charts and drawings covering every wall, each eye-wateringly brighter than the next. The papier-mâché solar system strung from the ceiling. Even the list of kids who made detention this week was scrawled in a vivid purple.
She tried to conjure up the memories from her own elementary school days, but they were flat, muted. She couldn’t dredge up anything with half of this… effervescence. Maybe it was just the 90s. Maybe it was just her, and her crappy childhood.
She was relieved to find that rather than the Woodstock Wannabe she’d imagined, the instructor was actually young, perhaps even younger than her. A pretty, dark haired woman in a fitted tweed jacket, and heels so high Emma winced reflexively just at the sight of them.
“You must be Emma,” the woman said warmly, reaching across the table to shake her hand. She was Australian, maybe. Or possibly South African. Emma never really had an ear for accents. “I’m Belle. I’ll be leading the class. Glad you found your way. We’re just about to start, so if you could find somewhere to sit…”
A quick scan revealed that every table was already occupied, everyone paired up like it was Noah’s Ark or something. All except the table at the back, its sole occupant leaning back on his comically small chair, a sardonic smile curling his lips as Emma turned his way.
New Year’s Resolution #1: STAY AWAY FROM KILLIAN JONES!
Fuck.
Her first instinct was to flee. The natural response, when confronted with a predator. And mark her words, everything about Killian Jones in that instant was entirely predatory. The leather jacket. The devil-may-care slouch. And above all, the familiarity sparking in those dangerous blue eyes, that threatened to swallow her whole.
She did turn to go, but by then Belle already had her by the elbow, and was practically manhandling her down the aisle of desks. “Oh, look,” she said, her blithe tone a contrast to her iron grip. “It seems like Mr Jones is in need of a partner.”
Everyone was looking at her now. The retirees in their matching jogging suits. The J.Crew moms chugging down their mineral waters. The new age waifs in their tie-dyed T-shirts. Every beady eye, turned in her direction.
“Great,” she said, rescuing her arm from Belle’s vice-like grasp. And took a seat.
He didn’t speak immediately, just watched as Belle trailed back down to the front of the room, taking the attention of the class with her. But she could tell he already had an opening volley prepared. Could practically feel it vibrating inside him, as his elbow oh-so-accidentally brushed her own.
“So who was it?” Emma asked, keeping her voice low and emotionless. “Ruby? Mary Margaret? I bet it was Mary Margaret, wasn’t it?”
She chanced a sideways glance at his expression, trying to catch him out, but his face was inscrutable, if kind of smug.
“I have no idea what you mean, Swan. I’m just as surprised as you. I’m just a simple man, going about his day, eager to learn the ancient and noble art of basket weaving.”
“You have one hand!” Her voice rose a little higher than she intended, drawing a few odd looks their way.
“Well,” he shrugged, turning her way properly at last. “You know that’s never really been an obstacle when it counts.”
The look he shot her was knowing. The same look he’d worn the morning after, before she’d thrown his jeans at his chest, and told him to lose her number.
God, her list was going straight to hell.
It wasn’t even February yet.
It hadn’t mattered. The one-handed thing. He wore a prosthetic, usually. And when it was cold like this, he wore gloves so you could barely even tell that much. Not unless he wanted you to. He hadn’t worn the prosthetic with her. Hadn’t bothered to hide what he was. Who he was.
He was struggling now though, tool poised to create a split in the willow reeds, per Belle’s instructions, but slipping every time without the proper leverage.
“Hey,” she said, her touch on his shoulder enough to still him. “Hand me the screwdriver.”
“It’s a bodkin, Swan,” he corrected, but gauging Emma’s unimpressed face, handed it over anyway.
Emma had never tried to split a willow reed before, but a quick glance at the neighboring tables showed that no one else seemed to be finding it all that difficult. How hard could it be?
“Now remember what Belle said. You’ve got t- Careful!” he warned, but it was already too late, Emma’s first attempt had already snapped the reed clean in half.
“Shit.”
“And that’s why there are spares,” Killian sighed, dropping another near identical reed onto the tabletop.
“Maybe I should be the one holding it?” Emma offered.
But Killian shook his head, his weight already braced at either end, waiting. “You can do it, Swan. Just remember not to push it through right away.”
A beat. The flicker of a smile. The innuendo shimmering silently between them, before he coughed, and nudged her hand. “Again.”
This cut was more centered, and as she lifted the reed, the bodkin, or whatever it was, poked through the other side. A perfect split, to feed the other reed through.
Killian leaned close, inspecting her handiwork. “Not bad, love. And only two more to go.”
He shouldn’t be smiling at her like that. Encouraging her. Sneaking in his accidental terms of endearment.
She set down the tool.
“Why are you here?” It caught him by surprise, a little, the shift in her tone. “And don’t give me any bullshit about the ancient and noble art of basket weaving. We both know you set this up... somehow.”
He didn’t speak right away, as if weighing his words carefully. “I set it up a little,” he admitted. “Though there was a certain amount of providence involved.”
He paused again, considered something, eyes shining with some unnamed emotion. “You were so quick to reject me, I thought I would give you an opportunity to reconsider.”
Hurt. That was the emotion.
She’d hurt him. The knowledge of it was a cool knife inside her chest, quelling her indignation. Not just because she’d rejected him, but because she hadn’t even given it a second thought before doing so.
Not because she didn’t like him. Not because he wasn’t a good man. Not because he wasn’t pretty damn spectacular in bed.
But because it was safe.
New Year’s Resolution #2: Go see a therapist for your stupid abandonment issues.
She felt the tear fall, but was powerless to stop it. A single escapee trailing down her cheek before she could get herself completely under control.
The sight of it unnerved Killian, and so well it might. Emma was not a crier.
“Christ, Swan,” he said, his good hand coming up to wipe her chin. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I just-”
“No,” she said, a hand closing over his wrist, plastering on a watery smile. “I’m fine. You’re right. I was… callous. And that wasn’t fair to you.”
Releasing his wrist, and at a loss for what to do with her hands, she picked up the bodkin again, and lined up the next reed.
“I don’t mean to trap you, love,” Killian said softly, leaning across to hold the reed steady. “Or force you into saying something you don’t mean. I just wanted you to know you have a choice. And that I’m prepared to be patient…” Their eyes met briefly. “...if you need time to make that choice.”
It was all she could do to nod, when she had more tears threatening to spill over.
Steadying her hand, Emma punctured the reed, a perfect perforation. She held it up for Killian to inspect.
“Not bad, that,” he whistled.
“Only one more to go.”
The third reed snapped. The fourth was a success. She let Killian thread the others through, until they formed a perfect cross slath.
“Great!” Belle clapped from nearby, making a close circuit to assess their progress. “Now grab your two longest rods. They are going to be your weavers. Today we are going to be doing a pairing weave…”
She was barely out of earshot before Emma dissolved into sniggers.
“Longest… rod…” Emma spluttered, her emotions already all over the place. “Sorry. I just- I’m fine now. I’m mature. I can hear the word rod without dissolving into teenage giggling.”
“You sure about that, Swan?” Killian asked with an amused look, before one of the J.Crew crowd turned around to shush them.
Chastened, he passed her the rods in question, and let her take care of the more finicky task of securing the slath.
It wasn’t long before they had a rhythm going. Her weaving clockwise. Him holding the spokes apart as he slowly rotated the disk anti-clockwise. It wasn’t really a two person job, but it worked as one.
And it did kind of look like a basket. Or the base of one. A bit like a laundry hamper Emma used to have. The beginnings of something not too bad.
“Great work, guys!” Belle said admiringly, as she passed by their table. “Now that’s about all we have time for this week, but next week we’ll move onto the sides, where we’ll use a randing weave...”
Killian rose a suggestive brow.
“I swear she’s doing it on purpose…” Emma grumbled, packing away their tools and brushing away the debris. After a while, it became clear she was stalling more than anything.
“It was Graham,” Killian said, smiling at her confused frown. “Who ratted you out. In case you were wondering.”
Graham. That traitor. She should’ve known.
“Same time next week?” he asked, rising to his feet. The tone was light, but the question was not.
A choice.
“Yeah,” she said, rapping her knuckles against the table, trying to play it cool, even as she saw the grin spread wide across his face. “Sure. Next week.”

Still Water Trout Fishing Tips
Tumblr media
ABOUT STILL WATER TROUT FLIES
Here is the brief of Stillwater trout fishing guides for learners. The stocked still waters are ideal places for any newcomer to a prelude of fly fishing and the springtime is considered as the best time to fish. The venue and timings are perfect so let's just dive into the brief guide.
We have made portions for my top 6 tips into the location, equipment, and fly choice. These are my main tips for the amateurs or even for those who want to come back after a long break from mid.
  Fly Rods
The most important factor you have to decide is the choice of the fly rod. There are your internal struggles for the expense, but this is the first time damage till finding the good rod. A wrong choice of the rod can make your trip worst with the worst damage.
The most popular fly wand for Stillwater fishing for trout is weighted nine foot 6 inches. You should consider this rod as your first because this should consider. Many skilled professionals told us that a nine-foot 5 weighed the best for the starting ones, but some of them fishers quickly changed to the six weight when the wind grabs up.
The casting is larger of nine-foot six weighted. Wind resistant flies and streamer habits into the winds, but also can present small dries to finicky trout. This uniqueness alone can make the nine-foot six-weight the right choice.
  Reels
The reel you drop in the pole is doing several jobs while you're up to the catch of the day. It also relies on the Stillwater you're fumbling and the air of trout you're expecting. Essentially, though, the reel stores fly line and backing. When assembling to cast, you drop down the amount of fly line off the reel you want to catch a fish with.
The reel stores the rest until you want to either pull more line off or have a back on. There is a variety of reels with different coverings, size ranges, shapes, drags, handles and knobs. The thing to be remembered is that the reel stand hold your line until either predator or prey decides to take it off. But only you the predator decides to put it back on.
In Duck Lake, in Montana's Glacier National Park during a very recent trip, it's known for the huge rainbow trout. We are helping beginners to spot the trout nearest to the bank. While trying to catch one of these monsters, she played right. The fish seized and headed over to the middle of the lake. The reel was spring and pawl, and the fly fishers had no further knowledge palming the reels.
We were trying to teach someone a calming trick when we saw a seven-pound Montana rainbow coming to Idaho, which was not easy. She makes the fish land, but until the trout was a couple of turns from taking all her backing. In very short order, a disc and drag would have been better in this position.
If you have a plan to fish in the still water and you accept a big trout there. Although the Montana or labrador or Maine, a disc drag reel will have you to handle all these. Reel selection is, most of the time, a personal and subjective venture. You have to pick the size reel that fits your rod well and that gives you a sort of balance. The style is what you preferred.
  Fly lines
In Stillwater fly fishing, the right fly line is the most important choice of tackle. It covers many different fishing depths, from the surface down to the 20 feet. The fly line is your only way to get the fly to where the trout exist. You will need at least two lines to fulfil this in greatly still water fishing applications. A floating line and a sinking line is important.
  Floating line
Casting trout conjures up the thoughts of silent dusks, on mirror-calm still waters dimpled with rings as trout slurp emerging mayflies for many still water anglers.
There is nothing more rewarding as casting to an upward trout, seeing it slowly rise to your fly with a wide-open mouth, after that lifting to your rod to meet with the opposition of his heavy state.
In a situation like these, a better floating streak will make your fishing experience very much speaking and rewarding. There are many tapers and colours available in the ranger of floating line.
A common weight forward taper in a high sight of colour, like yellow, that is the most common and the one we also recommend. The floating lines are useful for dry flies, emergers, periodically streamers in the start of springs and late fall where the fishes are feeding close to shore or near the water level.
  Sinking Lines
Many of the Stillwater fishermen, retrieving a fly on choppy days over trout that stays and eats in the deep surface of the sea is all to focus. To be very honest, you can not fish productively in 90% of still water circumstance without a sinking line. Most of the trout ratings take place in the subsurface (possibly as much as 90%), Making the dip line and /or flies fished below the level productive in most fishing experience.
The experience of an incidental yank as a trout inhales the fly that swings off the surface to simulate the emergence of a mayfly about you surface.and the head shake of an unknown fish after the hook set is what the still water angling all about in these type of environments like floating lines that comes with most tapers. The colour ranges are very restricted to the materials that use to make them sink.
The tungsten is the most used in the making of the full painting lines, and the raw form of tungsten makes a dark greyish powder while the line colours are from dark green to black. The darker colour you get when the fast sink rate of the line you're using. The still waters are flat smooth during sunset hatches are only a limited rare, lucky and precious evenings in a season spare. A sinking line helps a fisherman a lot and becomes a best friend on the still water fly fishing.
Simply Nymphs, emergers, and streamers, that copy baitfish and crayfish as well as attract the pattern are best fished in the sinking line. We might fish for full sinking line four to one over floating lines. We suggest you use a full sinking line in class 3(sink rate is two to three inches per second) or a class 5 ( link rate of five to six inches per seconds. I have a choice only, and we had class 5.
This class reaches to the bottom more quickly than other full sinking lines. Make sure that any full sinking cables you buy are relying on density. This means that the lines are prepared to sink at the same speed throughout its taper, so it has from becoming a belly at sinking.
  Speciality lines
Speciality lines are among sink tip lines and, clear monochrome slime lines. Moderate drinking lines all can comes to use in different situations. All of the speciality lines available this time; the one we mostly use is the Orvis Depth charge fly line. It has the 30-foot long extra-fast sinking head linked to the made-up with the middle coating. It sinks like the heaviest and go deeper in fast.
The middle line goes there head down more effortlessly than a floating running line. We would suggest substituting the Depth charge line in place of my full sinking line. It is a more convenient tool for fishing in deeper water. Depth charge is not considered as line weight but from grain weight. We recommend you to use 200-grain depth charge for five weight rods 250 grains for six weighted rods.
The only different line we suggest for using the fishing subsurface blue flash damsel larva or streamers close to the surface of the water is the intermediate line. This is made from a single strand monochrome with a transparent PVC coating.and completely clear. It sinks very slowly and leaving the no wake as you retrieve it.
It is a very good line for starting from a spooky fish along a shore where you'll be concerned about the lining of the fish. What means by the lining of a fish is spooking fish by casting the line over the fish proximity. If it's visible to fish the shadow or the splash of the lines as it hits the water, it will be taking a cover.
A clear and middle line is narrow in diameter, makes a very small shadow and is very clear not opaque. We love to uses this clear middle line if we are casting the streamers close to the shore or surface, as it makes more chances of making me a fish and is between me and my diawl bach fly during the retrieve.
  Leaders
Leaders are available in many of the length, tapers, and diameters also knotless and knotted form. If we have to suggest you the most appropriate leader, I would suggest a nine-foot tapered leader in a 4X or 5X diameter would be my selection. Many companies produced tapers but not doing a good tapered job. Make your surety to use the leader that is a tape with a good company and worked with designs.
We suspicion that no one is more efficient in a taper as Orvis has. Our knotless leaders are extruded through a machine to give them perfect taper for turnover and presentation. They are then settled with heat and friction so that the breaking strength increases more as you move from the thin tippet that is glued to your flight to the thick stub that joint the fly line to the leader.
A knotted leader is made up of various levels of the section in line. Making a start with heavy materials at the stubs and finishing to the thin tippet. A knotted leader could have as many as eight or more than that knots from starting to the end. There are many faults in knotted leaders.  They are more likely to have breakage. They snag small pieces of grass or debris, leaving a wake when retrieved.
Now you will start cleaning this all than fishing. And the attached debris making the chance off fishing reduced. There is no reason to utilise anything than knotless leaders for your Stillwater fly fishing.
The most common material used for the leader material is nylon. The breaking strength, resistance, elongation, colour or tenacity of leaders will be changing by the alteration of formula. At Orvis, we select the best combo of strength, elasticity, and durability, for our super-strong formula.
  Our bung method
The bung method is the most popular and cats whisker for beginners.  It is the most effective practice for still water fishing, and it also gives you a break. It makes the fly lose in the predetermined, depth and depends on the wind static. If you want to shift from coarse fishing to fly fishing, it is so same as the float fishing, and you can apply the same technique of changing the depth and location until you succeed.
When fishing this technique, I would suggest you stick on the weighted blob and buzzer patterns or small lures and keep shifting the depth ranges until you reach. Remember to strike very immediately when the indicator strikes in.
  Fish mobile lure patterns
During winter and into the spring, the successful fisherman usually does a slow pace fishing. This happens with squirmy wormy lure patterns too. This does create some problems with the presentation when your fly gets little movement like app worms with mobile flex floss or flies hanged up with natural furs of Klink hammer like zonker or snake flies. When you're starting, I suggest you fish a single f fly like a Cormorant. It makes casting much easier the stringer the leader, and as many experts know it grabs more fishes that a team of flies in many places.
  Conclusion
These are some tips and tricks you need to learn from still water trout flies how and when to use them. If there is any other method you like to share, it would be amazing!

Interview with Manuela Beltrami
Tumblr media
Each month, we interview one of the members of our federation to give an idea of what’s going on in the Dutch H.E.M.A. scene.
Buongiorno! Manuela here. I am Italian and when I do not train I am a system engineer. I have four cats, one husband, I love contact sports and I moved to the Netherlands from Italy about 10 years ago.
How did you end up doing H.E.M.A?
It was a sunny Sunday almost 3 years ago. I was visiting a knives fair and Petra and Cem from Zwaard & Steen had a stand there with swords and manuals. Cem gave us a quick lesson just behind the stand. I still remember how clumsy I was while trying to understand what to do with the weapon. A few months later I had my first lesson at Zwaard & Steen and am still going strong.
Where (and what) do you train?
I train in longsword with Zwaard & Steen in Nieuwegein, near Utrecht. In the past, I’ve participated in various workshops in sword and buckler, pugilism, quarter staff, military sabre, and rapier and dagger. I would like to start training regularly in pugilism and learning more of rapier and dagger in the future.
What do you like about your club?
Zwaard & Steen is very diverse. We get the opportunity to spar at the end of the lessons and are actively encouraged to do so with experienced and beginning fighters alike. They all have their own way of fighting and every exchange is a learning experience. From time to time instructors do parts of exercises with us, which increases our understanding of the drill and gets us as close as possible to a good execution of it. The instructors also join in with sparring at the end of the class.
You have been to several international events. How would you compare ‘Dutch’ H.E.M.A. to H.E.M.A. in other countries?
I do not see any difference between international events or Dutch ones. Every event is pretty unique and has its own appeal. I like that there are always new events coming out and sometimes it’s difficult to choose! In the end, they’re all good events, and it’s up to the event planners, crew and fighters themselves to make it special. Having trained in Italy as a guest in Davide and Federico’s school, Sala d’arme dell’Appeso, I haven’t found a distinctive difference between Dutch H.E.M.A. practitioners or practitioners from other countries. I was truly happy to see that H.E.M.A. is good no matter where we go or where we train.
Tumblr media
You participate in both open and women’s competitions; how would you compare fighting in these competitions?
I like to have the possibility to choose. I fight totally different when I am fighting in a women-only competition or an open tournament. I know most people will despise me for this, but in women-only competitions, all my focus goes into not hurting my opponent, into making sure I am not disappointing her. I feel a very strong mommy–instinct towards my H.E.M.A.-friends. In open tournaments, I am still afraid to hurt my opponent but somehow the feeling is less, the pressure is lower. This makes me enjoy the fight more, even if I don’t stand a chance. As far as fighting women in an open tournament goes, I haven’t had that opportunity yet, but I am looking forward to it!
Do have any ambitions or dreams?
My current goal is to keep learning from my mistakes and to keep on getting fitter and stronger. I have a big crush on pugilism, so my dream is to pick that up seriously. For now, it’s just practicing at home and reading all the materials I can find. I like pugilism because it’s a completion of boxing and I’ve always loved boxing. The difficult part of starting with boxing is accepting that you’re going to be hit. Getting punched is very close and personal.
Do you have any advice/good starting points for others interested in pugilism?
My advice, and I am not an instructor so this is simply a student’s advice, would be to learn to take a punch first. It will make everything else easier. Also never forget to train the neck. The wrestler bridge is my favorite exercise for that.
What does your training schedule look like? How often do you do H.E.M.A. and what do you do outside of H.E.M.A., training-wise?
I train H.E.M.A. three times a week: Monday, Thursday and Friday. Every morning and evening (when I do not train H.E.M.A.) I have a 15 minutes training session, either HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), weight lifting, or simple exercises (push-ups, planks, crunches, squats).
What will H.E.M.A. be like in the future, what are your expectations?
I want to see all our disciplines in the Olympics! Having it recognized as a sport was already a huge victory, now I truly place my trust in the bond to make the rest happen.
What is your fondest H.E.M.A. memory?
I don’t have a ‘fondest memory’ yet. I suppose I’m still working on it. If I have to pick the funniest, it was my fight against Michela at swordfish 2015. I had no idea the top 16 fights would start so quickly and I had never made it out of the pools before. I was dead nervous and they had to come find me (I was on the toilet!) and I started the fight with half a protein bar in my mouth. I lost of course, but the thought of that still makes me giggle.
Tumblr media
What are you proud of?
Everybody that is making progress makes me proud, from the beginner that put himself in the ring the first time to the students ending the heaviest trainings full of sweat and smiles. Students moving up to become instructors, instructors distinguishing themselves in various tournaments (I am not talking about winning, but putting on a good fight, I’d rather see good technical exchanges than a win just for the sake of winning).
Do you have any advice for those just starting out in H.E.M.A.?
I’d like to say to anybody new starting H.E.M.A. to not be afraid or concerned if they didn’t train in years, or they’re lacking confidence, I’d recommend to just join a school and try it out. If that school is not comfortable or if it just does not feel right, just change school and try somewhere else. Do not give up!
I wrote enough now, let’s go train some more!

As a fitness enthusiast, home gym-owner, and a successful importer/exporter of fitness equipment, I know it all. Well, I am not trying to be boastful in my late thirties, but I am simply stating the facts.
Given my extensive knowledge and experience in the field, I genuinely don’t mind stepping up to the plate to help others take responsible decisions.
If you are playing with the idea of investing your hard-earned money on a power station, you better be prepared for a rough ride. Unfortunately, no two power tower machines are the same. So, it becomes easy to shell out top-dollars for an inferior product.
My experience and extensive knowledge can help over here because I can see things beyond the surface. So, let’s talk about the best power towers on the market today.
  Overview
For those who don’t know, a power tower is a useful indoor or outdoor fitness equipment for body weight workouts. It’s the perfect tool to hit multiple muscle groups for a full-blown home workout. Structurally, it carries a strong frame to help one perform a host of compound exercises to augment physical strength, muscular endurance, and functional movement. The primary focus is the development of the upper body and the core (abdominal) muscles.
Typically, a power tower includes sidebars with dip handles along with an overhead bar, allowing a person to perform a variety of back, core, arms, and shoulder exercises among other muscles. As one gains strength, one can increase the difficulty level by attaching more weights to the body. This is done by holding a dumbbell between the legs or by wearing a belt with weights attached to it. With that said, let’s press on with the best power tower reviews.
So, before we begin, kudos on choosing the right lifestyle. The fact that you are reading this post gives out a clear message that your health is only going to get better with every passing day. This might just be the stepping stone, but the future holds good things for people who take care of their health. With that said, let’s evaluate if you really need to get this equipment or not through these power tower reviews.
Top Rated Pull Up Dip Stations
1. XMark VKR Vertical Knee Raise with Dip and Pull-up Station Power Tower XM-7617 ( BEST )

This multi-function pull up dip station can meet your needs for a home-gym. Recommended by many industry experts, it’s an ace-product in its class. It features an 11-gauge steel frame and powder coated finish for longevity. Also, the main frame is angled on purpose to stabilize any movement and to handle up to 600 pounds of user weight. Furthermore, the machine offers the options to do dips, pull-ups, chin-ups, leg raises, and a host of other exercises with different grips to blast one’s upper body. Let’s get to the pros and cons of this bad boy.
Pros:
Structure-wise, it’s as solid as a sturdy pick-up truck. Even if the package is subjected to a lot of beating, the equipment will stay unharmed. Of course, it will not survive an earthquake, but it won’t budge against a great deal of human force and movement. Furthermore, its designed and engineered for ease-of-use and safety.
Also, the dip bars are spaced around 21 inches apart from each other to accommodate most users. Better yet, the back pad and the armrests of this machine are thick and well-placed. Moreover, all the handles carry rubbers for safe usage, and the cushion on this equipment is tear-resistant for the most part. Not to forget that multiple handle grips help with different hand positioning to do a variety of different exercises. Everything combined, one can expect a good workout for the entire upper body.
  Cons:
The machine doesn’t arrive with the necessary apparatus to bolt it to the floor. That being said, the equipment has a heavy and sturdy body, so there is no need to fix it on the floor. But, in case one chooses a different route, one will have to figure out a way for drilling or fabricating as a means of anchoring the unit to the floor. Also, plan on having two people when the unit arrives.
Moreover, be ready to spare about an hour or two for the installation process. If you can follow written instructions, you will do well here. Once assembled, it will take a fair amount of space. So, be prepared for that as well. These aren’t really deal-breaking flaws but were penned down to keep your expectations about the product real.
  Summary:
This is easily one of the strongest and best pull up dip stations out there on the market today. Truthfully speaking, it’s a serious and a well-designed piece of gear that has gym-quality written all over it. Given the quality and solid built, you can pass this fitness equipment from one generation to another. The price of this commercial grade pull up dip station is reasonable too, but on the higher side of the spectrum. But, as they say, “Buy quality stuff, and cry only once.”

  2. Fitness Reality X Class High Capacity ( Highest Capacity )

If you are still reading this post, you might be a looking for a high capacity power tower. With a 400-pound weight capacity, the Fitness Reality X Class might suit your needs. It’s a sturdy equipment that allows one to perform a wide variety of workouts using body weights. Plus, the tower has plenty of height and stability to satisfy the quest of most users.
Pros:
Even if you were to train too aggressively, the equipment would stay calm at its place. Also, with our testing we have taken notice that it appears it can take a lot of beatings and still show no signs of wear and tear for several months and beyond; much more than it’s fellow competitors. So, it’s not one of those pieces of equipment that can barely survive the shipping process. Even when the showroom shine fades away over a period of time, the structure by itself stays rock-solid. Also, there is no need to fasten this pull up dip station to the floor. It sits well on the floor without rocking during use.
Assembling this beauty is a straightforward process. It comes with clear instructions and hardware for proper setup. Also, the padding on the armrests and the back are plush enough for comfortable support. Moreover, the back pads can be moved up and down as per user’s convenience for better back support. There are three evenly placed bolts to support this movement.
Word of Advice:
Do not tighten everything in place till you are completely done with the assembly. You can then go back and tighten all the hardware. Also, make sure to assemble the unit near the area where you plan to use it so that you don’t feel the need to move a heavy object from one room to another. If you are a bit late in reading this advice, take help in moving the equipment to the final destination. If not, be ready to have a moment of silence for your poor back.
  Cons:
With the darker color it scratches a bit easy. If you are not careful during the installation process, expect some scratches on the product at some places. This won’t affect its functionality, but it could ruin the new look. Other than these minor hiccups, this pull up dip station won’t give you any reasons to steer away from it.
  Summary:
You won’t see too many high-end models priced like this one. From the price and functional standpoint, it’s is built to impress. End. OF. Story.  The fitness reality x pull up dip station has too many convincing advantages to drop our hard-earned money on it. Don’t worry; you won’t regret your purchase decision. You will be able to use it nonstop for 365 days a year, and the product will never cease to please you.

On an even surface, it doesn’t move one bit!

This is one of the best budget-friendly power towers out there. Well, you don’t have to take my word for it. Upon second opinions, you will find a host of trainers and lifting enthusiasts backing this product. For the price, it’s well-built with quality parts. Therefore, be prepared for its arrival with another set of helping hands, so that you don’t make a fool out of yourself. That being said, it’s extremely easy to assemble this pull up tower. Although there are quite a few pieces to put together, you won’t really need a rocket-scientist degree to get it to the ground. As a practical tip: do ask the makers which parts and components are covered by the warranty. This might save you from a lot of trouble down the road.
4.Space-Friendly
You would hate to get a mountain of a power tower only to realize that you don’t have enough real estate space to accommodate the beast. It pays to read the product description to clearly understand the product dimensions to avoid usage and storage issue once the product arrives. You can also get something that can be wall-mounted to ensure that the product doesn’t dominate your entire room.
5. Beginner-Friendly
If you are just starting off, you should be better off getting a machine that can help you do all the exercises correctly. An assisted pull up machine or something that comes with vertical knee raise station and straps/rubber bands can throw the issue of bad form out of the window for the most part. So, it helps to choose an equipment that goes well with one’s level of fitness.
6. Weight Capacity
If you weigh 250 pounds, don’t get a machine that has a maximum weight bearing capacity of 250 pounds. Ideally speaking, there should be a gap at least 25 to 30 pounds over here. For instance, if you weigh 240 pounds, don’t buy a power tower that can support up to 250 pounds. You would need a machine that can bear at least 265 pounds or more. This is not something etched in stone or anything, but you should be better off following this practical suggestion.
7. Stability
Everything else will be a fail if the machine is not able to stand its ground. You will never have a peace of mind while training on a machine that shakes or wobbles. Not to forget the fact that you also run the risk of injury. Therefore, don’t opt for a dirt-cheap machine. It may lack the stability that a solid base can offer. So, if you don’t want your training to be a dangerous affair, go for a heavier model that has a solid base to it.
8, Maintenance
As you might expect, product maintenance is the key to the longevity of your machine. Therefore, get a machine that’s easy to maintain. At the end of the day, you don’t want to quit your full-time job to take care of a fitness equipment. So, get something that you can easily maintain on your own. Frankly speaking, poorly maintained fitness equipment is an indicator of how seriously you take your training.
9. Multiple Workout Stations
The idea of purchasing a power tower is to get a thorough workout at the comforts of one’s home. To turn this idea into reality, one should seek a machine that comes with multiple workout stations so that one can effectively train all the body parts. This will not only add variety to the training but also prevent muscle imbalance. Remember, every time you neglect a body part, some other body part has to take extra stress to deal with the neglect.
10. High-Quality Materials
Although there are no moving parts, a power station includes various parts and components blended into one machine. As a smart consumer, you need to be sure that everything checks out well. From the cushions, grips, straps, to the overall frame, the equipment should shine with high-quality features and materials blended into it. Goes with saying, a durable buy will show little to no signs of wear and tear even with repeated use for several years and beyond.
  Last Words on Power Towers
In the prevailing scenario, if you don’t do your research well, you could be heading nowhere faster than a bullet train. Frankly speaking, the plateau of inferior products out there can easily soak up your time, money, and peace of mind. To crush this problem, I took the time and efforts to put forward the best information possible. Hopefully, the above power tower reviews must have given you enough insight to make a confident buying decision without the usual elbow grease involved in the shopping process.

By Robert Ross
Gyms and yoga lessons have had an increase in demand as many people are struggling to get fit. The reasons for unfitness are related to diet and lifestyle. Out in the market, you will find many establishments offering these lessons. However, you need to have some points in mind before selecting fitness classes Jersey City. NASA, the Trampoline and You
Trampolines aren’t just for kids anymore. For adults, jumping on a trampoline offers far more than mere entertainment. Rebounding can be a full-body workout that builds muscle and increases cardiovascular fitness — all while channeling your inner kid.
WHAT IS REBOUNDING?
Rebounding is the technical name for hopping on a mini trampoline, or rebounder. When you bounce on a rebounder, your body goes through several actions. First, you experience acceleration as you spring upward. This is followed by a split-second of weightlessness in the air. You will then decelerate at an increased g-force downward to hit the trampoline and bounce back up — thus repeating the process over and over.
WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF REBOUNDING?
Rebounding has been around for a long time, but its resurgence began in the 80s. That’s when NASA researched its benefits as a means of finding an effective way for their astronauts regain bone and muscle mass after being in outer space. NASA discovered that rebounding:
Can work the entire body without applying excess pressure to the legs and feet.
Increases oxygen uptake about 68% more than running does due to the increase g-force.
Benefits the body on a cellular level at a greater rate than other methods of exercising.
In addition to torching calories and being fun, rebounding has been said to provide an array of benefits to the body such as:
Works the Entire Body: “Rebounding itself creates an increased g-force (gravitational lead) affecting our body, which positively stresses every cell in our body and involves more than 400 muscles working at the same time,” says Jakub Novotny, a master trainer at Jumping Fitness. “While you are rebounding, the whole body must be engaged, starting with the core, and working together as one unit.”
Oxygenates and Is Anti-Aging: As demonstrated by the NASA study, rebounding is a great way to boost the oxygen levels in your cells. “As muscles relax, the arteries through the body relax and expand, and all the body’s organs are filled with blood rich in oxygen and nutrients,” says Manhattan-based dermatologist Dr. Natasha Sandy. “This is great for anti-aging!”
Is Joint-Friendly: “It reduces the amount of gravitational pull exerted on your body as you rebound, which effectively cuts down on the strain that is placed on your joints,” says Caprice O’Bryant, a certified personal trainer and owner of Excuse Free Fitness. “This makes it a low-impact workout because it decreases the shock on your joints by more than 85%.” Novotny adds that he’s had many clients that are unable to run due to knee issues that do very well on rebounder workouts. “On a trampoline, our feet land to a soft mat, which makes rebounding very friendly to our joints,” he says.
Elicits Pure Joy: O’Bryant stresses that among the many benefits of rebounding, it’s important to remember that an overall appeal of bouncing on a mini trampoline is the fact that it is fun. “We have so many duties, tasks and responsibilities already that we don’t need to have our workouts feeling like a chore because sometimes it’s the only hour we get to ourselves all day,” she explains. “When you’re doing a creative and fun workout, you are more likely to stick with it! Have you ever watched the pure joy of a kid jumping on a bed? It’s the same adrenaline and excitement for rebounding, so I’m calling it impossible to not love this workout.”
WHERE TO TRY REBOUNDING?
Rebounding classes can be found around the country. Check out your gym’s group fitness schedule — Crunch offers Urban Rebounding at its New York locations and elsewhere, for example — or seek out a trampoline studio, such as Jump Life in Los Angeles or Airobics in Chicago.
HOW TO DO IT AT HOME?
No classes near you? You can also rebound in the comfort of your own home. Rebounders cost anywhere from $40–$200, depending on the size and type.
To reap the benefits of rebounding, experts like Novotny suggest doing it for a minimum of 15 minutes per day. This can be performed in one session or split up throughout the day.
Choose a rebounder with solid springs so you can jump with shoes or in bare feet. Beyond just jumping, try doing jumping jacks, high knees, running in place, dancing or bouncing from side to side to shake up your workout. Or use Novotny’s go-to guide for beginners:
Jogging: Mimic a jog, but lift your knees to your hips. Try to maintain a 90-degree angle between your thighs and shins. To challenge your core more, double-time the movement. Don’t forget to use your arms as well, and use them as you would for regular jogging.
Basic jumping: Spread your feet shoulder-distance and bounce. Focus more on bounces than height. Play with directions or shifting/transferring weight from one side to the other.
Side steps: Jump in the center of the trampoline, keeping your feet together. Perform a single step to the side of the trampoline and return. Alternate legs. You can play with the directions and move to the front and back as well, or modify the rhythm by double-timing it.
Squats/lunges: These exercises require extra balance on a trampoline. A trampoline also allows you to do jump squats and jump lunges. When you are returning from the squat or the lunge, perform an additional jump to add more intensity.
