What made you start shipping Temily and Jara? What are your favorite headcanons for these ships?

What made you start shipping Temily?

Tara Lewis walked int the BAU in S11 and I instantly said 'Well, she's queer'. When Aisha's five episodes came to an end (she was originally only meant to cover a AJ's maternity leave) -- I was so disappointed because I was already so madly in love with Tara. Her planned departure spurred the idea that she would leave the BAU and go meet Emily in London so they could date. And that's how Temily was born (2015). I was shipping these two before Aisha was a permanent cast member, and WAY before we even knew Paget would come back. Obviously, Aisha was promoted to series regular and THANK GOD FOR THAT, because then Temily became a real thing and I loved every moment of it. I will always ship these two wish feral passion, they're SO good together.

What made you start shipping Jara?

In somewhere around 2016, I suggested the idea of Je T'Emily for the first time. In the early days, I saw the OT3 as Emily having two separate girlfriends (Tara and JJ). But then I wrote Fooled Around (and Fell in Love) - Part 1 and went -- hold up, maybe Tara and JJ should ALSO date. After that I was a goner for Jara and in the year and a half since this eye-opening epiphany, Jara has unexpectedly become my main CM ship. My position on Jara has changed so quickly over the eighteen months they've been on my mind. I went from a firm 'This would only work if JJ was single, because Tara wouldn't be part of an affair' to writing an entire series (Between You & Me) building their relationship from an affair to them getting married. Woops!

What are your favourite headcanons for these ships?

Temily Headcanons:

Gabriel and Emily get along almost too well. They often team up to tease Tara and she acts like she hates it, but everyone knows she adores it.

Emily is the only other person who has ever been granted permission to drive Lana (Tara's Opel)

While they don't necessarily want kids of their own, Tara and Emily are always happy to babysit other team members' kids.

Jara Headcanons:

Tara makes the absolute BEST parent to Henry and Michael. The boys love her so much and think she's way cooler than JJ

JJ and Tara know each other so well, they often pre-emptively know what the other needs, sometimes before the other even realises it themself. There was a case where it was super hot and JJ was mindlessly fanning herself and Tara appeared out of nowhere with a hair tie, tied up JJ's hair, and went back to pouring over evidence. The rest of the team thinks this is TOO wholesome and they always tease Tara and JJ about their psychic connection.
