Some are trying with all their might to call everything related to black history, Critical Race Theory. I don’t care what you call it, but black history is American History. Black people have been in the US just as long as white people. However our lived experiences are drastically different. Stop listening to biased perspectives and do your own research. Learn the truth for yourself. All white people were not bigots and slave owners. Many fought against slavery and helped bring about change. Which side were your ancestors on? In 2035, how will the documentaries portray you? Whether your title is CEO, ED, President, Exec, Manager, Colleague, Peer, Friend, or Family Member, your actions today determine how your story will be told. There is no ally without action. See you at work! #Emancipation #AmenOrOuch #Truth #AmericanHistory #BlackHistory #DoYourOwnResearch #Allyship #SpeakUp https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl-Es7NOLZF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

WHY ARE WE STILL SEGREGATED??? I’ve facilitated over 150 workshops, keynotes, and retreats over the last 2 years all over the U.S., and I can tell you, the biggest issue is segregation. So much of our history and present pushes us apart, when our value is in our differences. Think about this for a second: how many decisions are being made by folks who don’t live diverse lives? I’m not talking about being able to name a few friends or those we encounter at work or at a non-profit. I mean diverse guest list for weddings and dinner parties. I mean the schools we send our kids to. I mean those who invite us to their kids birthday parties. Election Day just passed, how many of the elected officials actually live diverse lives? Yet we’ve convinced ourselves that they are the best options to represent our communities. It’s not a coincidence that many feel we are so divided in America. We must stop this. Go invite your neighbor over for dinner. Spend happy hour with a minority business owner. Mentor someone who speaks a different language. While laws and policy are important, it doesn’t excuse the personal responsibility of getting to know people and treating them with dignity and respect. Where we don’t have personal experience, we tend to fill in the gaps with assumptions. Black people are not less talented or less educated than their white peers. Immigrants are not limited to the professions you’ve experienced them in. Those with disabilities are not incapable of being highly productive. Those who are LGBTQ+ are not trying to impose. And those who are military veterans should be among the most well treated people in our country. I’ve heard all kinds of excuses for the current state of America. Stop this! People are people. And it’s about time we start acting like it and treating each other as such! #StopThis #BetterTogether #AmenOrOuch #BeNice #SpeakTruth #DiversityMatters #BeTheChange https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck3vk_ruyJk/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Leadership Tip: The most valuable opinion is the one that is least given. We all know those people in the office who seem to have an opinion about EVERYTHING. A jack of all trades, but a master of none. It dilutes your voice when you overshare. “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1:19-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ #AmenOrOuch #Word #Leadership #NotAboutMe #QualityOverQuantity https://www.instagram.com/p/CjGFM3UOvZw/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
