And they're done! Such a fast knit this time, idk what happened.
Hermione's Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder BFL/Nylon dyed by garnbyransaljer (Insta) Spun by me, a 3-ply fractal, short forward.
I love them. The fit, the colors (amazing!). Now fingers crossed they'll wear well. And I might even have enough yarn left over to make a second pair if I make the cuff a little shorter.

Cast on Sockan Böna by Sara Älverstad (knutengarn) in handspun (spun by me) BFL/Nylon dyed by Emma (garnbyransaljer).
It's been a knitting drought here lately. Moving house has taken all my energy and mental space. And ofc I didn't have anything on my needles that are restful knitting. Like a body for a sweater would've been great. But no. And casting on anything has been way too daunting with my poor tired brain atm.
But now we've finally landed here in the new place, at least a little. There's still a lot of work to be done, getting the house in order. We still live out of boxes and the place is a mess. But! I did find the mental space to cast on a pair of socks and it feels great. I've missed knitting socks.
This is a pattern that I have attempted once before. Almost a year ago (I think?). It went all to hell, not because of the pattern at all, but because of life being a mess and I couldn't follow a pattern to save my life :p cuz burnt out brain and stuff. So here's to hoping this time will be better.

And that is sock one done! Feels quick? For a fingering/2mm needle sock. A week according to my notes. I like it anyway! Time for sock two!

It is tiiiiime! Finally a weave on my poor floor loom that's stood empty for almost a year. Some bedside rugs in handspun Gotland and 16/2-ish cotton. Woven in a pretty overshot structure.
I started planning and swatching (and calculating and recalculating) this project about a month ago. Which really isn't that long, where a weaving project is concerned. I'm so pleased to have the project finally on the loom though.
I'm rusty as all heck, weaving at the floor loom (a Rita from Bergå), no rhythm to speak of. Boy do my body tell me to get up and stretch after every repeat of the pattern or so (which might be just as well honestly).
I've never woven overshot before, but I'm really liking it. There's something about the way the threads nestle in all neat and orderly-like that's really satisfying somehow.
I'm excited to see this develop, pick by pick.

Idk what's with me and this pattern. It's trolling me slightly, feels like. Knit the entire heel. Looked at it. "That looks really small/short for a sock," I thought. Tested it. Yep.
I've measured my feet, followed the pattern blindly. And still... Last time I attempted this pattern I reknit the sock 4 times. Still didn't fit right. It's basically just a toe up sock with some ribbing and a fleegle heel. What the heck? Last time I blamed fog brain. I can't do that any more.
Obviously I've measured my foot wrong, must've.
The question still remains: do I rip back the heel, add length. Or do I perform surgery? Open it up just before the increase, add length and stitch it back up?

Last button sewed on and last end woven in! I can't be happier about this make. I knit it back and forth, no steek. And it actually turned out perfectly fine. As a bonus I can now comfortably throw with my left hand. Three colors over one round was definitely a challenge. But slow and steady wins the race. Pattern: Vintersol by @knit.love.wool Yarn: Lettlopi and Järbo 3-tr and some handspun. About 1k meters all in all. (most of it bought at @garnhyllan) Thanks @garnharvan (#ghdrömmenkal) for making me finally start this project! Ps. Hopefully one of these days I'll take some prettier project pictures... #knitting #knittersofinstagram #instaknit #knitblr #sweaterknitting #useyourhandspun #användhandspunnet #colorwork https://www.instagram.com/p/CqApNXnIMa9/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

#visiblemending I love these socks. Handspun Gotland. I'll mend them until I can't any more. This is the second patch. But I expect more to come.

A totally all feeling project. Went by my LYS the other day for supplementing a whole different project that's still in the planning stage (aka swatching). And walked away with two balls of Tynn Peer Gynt and one ball of Alpakka Følgetråd. Did some swatching, cast on the next day. Totally unplanned, but so much fun project. Knitting it on 5.5mm needles. Cast it on 3 days ago. Making the pattern as I go. It's flying! And can we just talk about this combination of yarns? I've wanted to try it since it released and I'm loving it. Tynn Peer Gynt is now definitely up there with Finull. And as I've never been a fan of fluff, but always wanted to experiment with optical color blending like this I'm really enjoying the alpaca too.
I have about 100 meters left and then I'll do the hem with the brown contrast (that is a handspun fingering/sport.) To get a good sized cropped throw-over-a-top-when-my-shoulders-get-cold shirt.
14st/10cm is just so much fun from time to time!

Guys! The last rolag of my years long sweater spin! I started during Tour de Fleece 2021. Prepping and started to spin. The last little 50gram braid have been laying around in my stash for a year... Then the other day I took out Viola and got on that. If nothing else to get it done! Most of it is spun on her. One braid on Astrid (another antique wheel, but from the 80s.) and some on Tori (Louet Victoria). Ofc it needs to be plied and whatnot too but still! This feels like a win! #handspun #handspinnersofinstagram #instaspin #sweaterspin #användhandspunnet https://www.instagram.com/p/CpUHvstIAF4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

It's been a slow start, Vintersol. Not only do you start knitting where you have the most stitches, and every round takes a long time. But the 3 colors at once rounds are almost right in the beginning. (And one of those rounds were on the wrong side for me since I'm knitting it back and forth/flat cardigan style.) But now I'm past that! It feels much better! The hurdle to pick this up and knit a few rounds isn't as high any more to get over. This might also be my favorite way of using handspun. The dark brown is swedish finull mixed with a little gotland and some milksheep (black) to add depth. It's soooo soft and airy and it feels even softer next to the rough Lettlopi or Svensk Ull 3-tr. Like I don't have to spin a whole sweater's worth every time. I can use it like this for a part of a colorwork section. Any chance to use handspun right? I feel spoiled, being able to spin exactly the yarn I want to use and not having to rely on bought yarn if I don't want to. But it certainly is slow making... #knitting #knittersofinstagram #instaknit #colorwork #knitblr #stickning #stickarepåinstagram #handspun #handspinning #spinnersofinstagram #användhandspunnet #ghdrömmenkal #vintersol #vintersolsweater https://www.instagram.com/p/Cocln-koruW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

One down, one thumb to go. #julvanten2022 They're just *beautiful*. And I gotta admit, I like them a little extra because of the handspun in them. #knitting #knittersofinstagram #användhandspunnet https://www.instagram.com/p/CmXZ1SlIUlB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

When I saw the word 'thumb gusset' in the preparation post for this year's #julvanten2022 I pretty much cried out hallelujah. So Lucia morning I put breakfast on the table together with some yarn and and lit some candles. Watched a Lucia celebration on the tv and had myself a really good few hours. Love the pattern so far. Using Lettlopi in the Barley colorway and the reds in different shades are handspun (mainly Gotland, some Falkland and some unknown bits and bobs.) #knitting #knittersofinstagram #användhandspunnet #handspun #handspinnersofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CmJpKuYoQC6/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My Kitchen Sink Leg Warmers are done! Turned out really nicely if I do say so. Made with every little sample skein of my handspun I had. About 140grams. Held double. These were knit with as low demand as possible. Simply mindless. I've even knotted the ends together. As well as overlap held the yarn. They might end up in a dye pot sometime though. The socks are handspun as well for that matter. It's from a really heavy micron Gotland. These'll survive the apocalypse, nothing phases them haha! #knitting #knittersofinstagram #handspun #handspinnersofinstagram #användhandspunnet https://www.instagram.com/p/Clgm4gBoh5O/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I need a project that required no brain and was on thicker needles than 3mm. Or rather, my hands demanded that. Turns out my bundle of sample skeins of handspuns is about 140grams of wool. I've saved every one of them since I started spinning 3 or what have you years ago. So there is a, shall we say, *range* of yarn qualities in here. It's also super cold. Or I am an icebite whimp. And I'm in desperate need of some leg warmers that aren't made of synthetic materials or cotton. Since most of the skeins are lace-sport weight I'm holding them double. One strand of longwool to one strand of finewool for the most part. The wool is really a mish mash of breeds. A bunch of swedish breeds like Leicester, Gotland, Finewool and Rya. But also some imported stuff like Shetland, Corriedale, Falkland and BFL. I'm calling them my Kitchen Sink Leg Warmers. #knitting #knittersofinstagram #handspun #handspinnersofinstagram #användhandspunnet https://www.instagram.com/p/ClRcUFjImDn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
