Demiro culture is seeing and loving that mod kee is also a cellist!!! I named mine Connie, and Daffy is my not-cello string instrument (I did high school gigs too!!) <3 love hearing you talk about yourself, and music nerd life the best life, can’t change my mind

my cello and bows are named after Nikola Tesla, cause I went through a whole "name things after famous scientists" phase in high school. the cello is Tesla (and yes, the company makes me regret this and I've debated Nikola instead), my carbon-fiber primary bow is The Death Ray, and my chestnut colored wood bow is the Pigeon.

#aro culture is #aro #aromantic #actually aro #actually aromantic #ask #mod kee #folks this is an open invite to reblog with your instruments and their names plus any named equipment #demiro culture #as far as stories about gigs go: ive played at everything from weddings to rock concerts to sunday brunches at a banquet hall to #award ceremonies to reunions and honestly im def forgetting some #oh! for business events #and unfortunately the local fox news because we were trying to get public funding 😔 #and these are all *paid* gigs #often the money went to the club rather than individuals except in the case of weddings and brunches #where it would be split equally among participating members #i think my favorite reason for a gig ever though #was that not enough ppl and groups signed up for the talent show #and clubs weren't allowed to participate #but they were like hey look we need filler cause otherwise it's gonna look like a total flop #aka the first time i was the lone cellist and the group elected to play radioactive #there was some part where the cellos were soli on the 'welcome to the new age' part #and I'd been 'back desk' faking it since the front stand played it better and louder and did more gigs than me #and uhh yeah so i learned it that day and freaking nailed it #chatty kee
