Luego de los incendios que están afectando a la amazona, las autoridades decidieron gestionar el B747-400 SuperTanker para tratar de controlar las llamas. Esta ha sido una de sus últimas opciones disponibles, y no es para menos. El B747 SuperTanker es capaz de almacenar 18,600 GLS (70,000 litros) de agua o líquido retardante. Todo este líquido se puede descargar mediante un sistema de alta presión en una sola pasada o simplemente en intervalos.
