Dear God,

Thankful and blessed today. I woke up at 7AM plus. I ate two sliced bread and drank water. We prepared ourselves for our tour in Ayutthaya that I booked at Agoda. We left our hotel and rode a taxi going to the meeting point. We arrived safely. I was a little but scared because we might get late. Good thing we arrived on time. We met our group and the tour guide. We bought food at Donki store at MBK center and it was very expensive. I bought a chiffon cake, milk tea in the bottle. At 9AM we left Bangkok going to Ayutthaya via bus. 1st stop at the Bang pa-in palace. We took a lot of pictures. Our time is limited because we are in a group. 2nd stop at the ruins where there is big pagoda and buddha, also and old reclining buddha. We also went up to the Pagoda to threw a coin. 3rd stop is in a restaurant. We ate our lunch which is squid and shrimps soup, fried fish with a lot garlic. I was full after. I was amazed by the boy who works in the restaurant. Please guide him Oh God. 4th stop is we went to some ruins of temple,buddha in the tree. We took a lot of pictures again. I bought ice drop which is mongo flavor. 5th stop is at a ruin temples again and we witnessed people wearing the Thai national costume. 6th stop is we went to a cafe and they gave us a complimentary drinks. I ordered and drank soda lychee with honey and passion fruit. We took a lot of pictures. Our tour ended and we headed back to Bangkok. They dropped us at MBK center again. We arrived safely. We had a little bit of shopping inside MBK Center. We bought dress and pants. We ate our late dinner at Burger King. We ate chicken with rice. We decided to go home and rode a taxi. We arrived safely. I bought pad thai nearby our homestay. We arrived at the homestay safely. I had my self and skin care routine. I ate the pad thai. I drank my medicines. I read few pages of the Bible. I will scroll my social media accounts, chatted my family and friends. I will play cooking fever. Have mercy on us Oh God. Guide us always to the right path. Remove sickness, danger and negative things in our life. Answer our prayers in your perfect time. Thank you and I love you God.

Day Twenty-Seven, Part Two: An Excursion to Ayutthaya

Queens and princesses at Bang-Pa-In have their own mansions.

After visiting this summer palace, we went to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya.

Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, Ayutthaya feels like a combination of Angkor Wat and Pompeii.

Like Angkor Wat, the temples have towers or “prangs” (Rich called them “corncob towers”) that serve as pagodas.

But like Pompeii, the site has the feeling of being caught in a single moment of time.

That’s because Ayutthaya was destroyed by the Burmese, with many of the Buddha figures destroyed, and the wooden parts of the buildings burned.

A model shows what Ayutthaya would have looked like originally.

Some of the buildings now are mere piles of rubble.

In another, the head of the Buddha has been encased in a tree that grew around it.

Other Buddha figures remain nearly intact.

Day Twenty-Seven, Part One: An Excursion to Ayutthaya

Since tomorrow is a free day until my ride to the airport for the flight home, today was the last day of my scheduled tour. I spent it about 47 miles north of Bangkok, visiting two major sites. The first was Bang-Pa-In, the summer palace of King Rama V.

If I was comparing certain parts of Bangkok to Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday, Bang-Pa-In is more like EPCOT: an amazing variety of cultures and styles set side-by-side.

If you look closely, you can see elements of Classical, Gothic, Renaissance, Chinese, and Thai architecture, sometimes in different buildings, sometimes in the same building.

A bridge leading into part of the complex is divided into two parts: a covered area for women,

and an open area for men.

The idea was that women of the court were not to be seen by other men.

All over the estate, the Indian cock flower blooms, and its blossoms fall everywhere.

A watch tower served a dual purpose. Soldiers could keep an eye on the surrounding area, but also visiting guests could get a nice view of the property.
