So I fell asleep watching whatever chapter I was last on in MW 19. Woke up and was thinking “It’s funny going back to watch MW 19 because it’s the COD game that helped start my COD obsession. It’s almost like completing some sort of circle.”

When MW 19 first came out, I started to watch it, but became intimidated because I thought I had to understand the last 16 years of COD first. Watching it now, I realize that all the COD games except (from what I’ve seen) BO4 can be understood without any previous COD understanding, which is impressive if you ask me. Sure, references here and there will be missed, and grand entrances of characters will hold less impact, but a newcomer can still find entertainment in it all.

Now, I think about what would have happened if I stuck with watching the MW 19 campaign. How my thoughts and opinions about COD might have been different back then had I stuck with it? Would I have enjoyed COD more? Or maybe less? Who knows. All I know is how ironic it is that I was terrified to get into COD because there was so much I wouldn’t understand, and then my first campaign viewing is BOCW, which is filled to the brim with callbacks.

Funny how the world goes ‘round like that.
