My “The Americans” experience was something along the lines of “This clearly is a good show - probably the most objectively and critically ‘good’ of any show I’ve watched - but I will probably not be watching again.”

Is it me?

#The Americans #late to the party as usual #it was really really good for real #but i just didn't get invested #i wanted to but i just couldn't get emotionally attached #i've seen the elizabeth and philip posts and was expecting to get hit by the ship as usual but i was kind of meh about the whole thing #maybe because i honestly didn't like a single thing about elizabeth idk #is it just me? #like yeah it's brilliant and intellectual and good tv and deserves awards yadda yadda #and i CAN like smart tv damn it #but give me my mentalist and buffy and rizzoli and isles and the ships that made me fucking feel something hard #anyone? #wisdom?

I’ve been meaning to do this for my own sanity. Presenting...the master list of my ships (with implied fandoms) in roughly the order that I started with them (heyy childhood). This is leaving out any obviously romantic movies that set up a pairing from the get-go (aka You’ve Got Mail and It Could Happen to You) and ones that I now back at and cringe big time (Buffy and Spike, Ezra and Aria). *On a random note, it’s fascinating to me that I truly love Harry Potter and that whole universe (though I’m a book fan, not so into the movies), but I do not have any strong feelings about the main pairings (HG, RH, etc). Like, I’m not opposed to them, but I don’t care to read fic about them at all.
