The hardest part about selfshipping is convincing myself that it’s okay to interpret the character the way that I want, even if it isn’t canon-consistent. Sometimes it feels like I’m lying to myself in my belief that certain characters would feel love for me or treat me in ways I am comfortable with because it would be “out of character” for them, but there is absolutely no harm in that. It literally does not hurt anyone to interpret a character however you want & it’s only hurting you when you force yourself to adhere to characterizations that aren’t compliant with how you want to feel while indulging in that specific media.

I struggle with this a lot because I have some rougher F/Os, but if I want to believe that they’d be sweet with me, I can. It doesn’t hurt anybody to interpret a character however I want if the content I’m creating is for me anyway. It’s easier said than done, however, but I am doing my best to remind myself of that.

🍯🌙- Where are you and your F/O going for a special honeymoon spot?

“There’s a particular spot by the southern end of the Coral Sea I plan on taking her to first. My princess is very fond of the ocean and water in general, so we’ll be spending a few days together at the beach there. After that we have plans to go on a short cruise together, and for the last few days there is a wonder forest in the Valley of Thorns I want her to see. Ah, but don’t let her know. I’m not certain how this device works or if she can see this, but… I would like to keep as much of it a surprise as possible.”

👗- What kind of wedding dress or suit did you and your F/O get? Give an explanation or show a picture.

“I couldn’t help but go for the ballgown… you can see it over here, but it mixed together some more tradition fairy styles with my own tastes. There’s a black sash around the waist that you can’t really see in that picture, but it breaks up the white a bit and it’s quite beautiful. Honestly it’s a pretty simple dress, but it’s got this sparkle to the skirt in the light I just can’t explain. I have no idea what the tailors did to it!”

“It’s a simple enchantment, my dear. But that aside, it is a very beautiful dress.”

“My attire was rather simple, but to show my dedication to my princess I decided to wear something that comes more from human wedding traditions. A vest, blazer, a tie- but I did wear the colours of the Valley of Thorns, as well as the boots and gloves that would be customary. This was just for the ceremony, however. I wore a different outfit for the reception- a very traditional dark fae outfit- but when we said our vows I wanted to honour Bronwen’s humanity.”

🍰- What does you and your F/Os wedding cake look like? Give an explanation or show a picture.

“It was a very lovely cake! The layers alternated between inspired by me and inspired by Malleus. The decorator did a wonderful job!”

“I’m not particularly fond of cake, but my princess had the idea to make it an ice cream cake instead- so it was very enjoyable. “

🥂- Who gave the first newlywed toast to you and your F/O? Did they give a good speech?

“I asked Silver to give the first toast and speech of the evening. He was a little anxious in the beginning- at first he didn’t believe that he could give a proper speech at such a large event. But, thankfully, Bronwen and I were able to convince him that he could do just fine. Silver did a wonderful job, of course. He took it very seriously and gave a speech fit for such an important event.”

“I may have cried a bit, actually… you could tell that Silver spent a lot of time on it. Although he did end up falling asleep a couple minutes after he finished. Sebek went from tearful to shouting pretty quick when that happened!”

🥘- What kind of food did you give your guests at the reception? What about desserts?

“There were quite a few options, it was a mixture of fairy dishes- which tended to be on the sweeter side- and various recipes my dad often made when I was younger. The guests could choose what they wanted for each course, which there were four of, and there was two or three options from Malleus’ side and my side. I don’ think it was very surprising, but things like curry and sushi were options I selected. so, there wasn’t really a cohesive theme for the food! It was like a trip down memory lane of different things we enjoyed, both before we met each other and after.”

“There was quite a bit of the wedding cake, so we gladly shared that with the guests. It’s only right after all, we invited friends and family who are dear to our hearts and a key part of both our lives- it’s best we partake in the evening together, including enjoying the cake.”

“That reminds me… isn’t there stories warning people not to eat food in the fairy realm, or else they’ll be trapped forever…?”

“Is there? Fufufu, humanity comes up with such silly legends. I can assure everyone none of the human guests were trapped in the Valley after the reception.”
