Their shared silence is a companion beneath the blanket of the moonlight. It casts a silvery glow over Sidurgu as he faces the sky, the unguarded slope of his shoulders and arch of his neck leading to a slight curve of his lips as he watches the stars visible through the tall trees surrounding the village, and D’alia dares to drink in the sight with a shallow breath. Her treacherous mind supplies the impulse to reach for him, gently turning his scaled chin to meet her gaze, and what he might think if she did, if he would close the gap between them and press that rare smile against her lips, too.

Sidalia eloping facts to share? 👀
omg ty for asking meg 🥺
I’d been saying that they’d elope for several months now, but I saw this tweet the other day, and it got the gears turning about how they actually would go about it, so my post-6.0 timeline has been a little adjusted now where they elope between the end of endwalker’s events and the start of the first patch!
while d’alia recovers from [redacted] since her injuries are extensive, sid goes see her in sharlayan, and stays there until she’s well enough to travel, which reminds her of how often he’s there for her without her having to ask it of him. she’s still a little too weak to handle aetheryte travel and the wooziness from distant teleportation, so they go home by ship, and it’s during this time that the idea comes up and it’s a mutual spontaneous decision between them.
they know they don’t need marriage, or any institution, and certainly not the approval of the ishgardian church or the gods, to prove anything about their relationship, but they’ve always been bound by their promises to each other — her promise to help him with rielle, his promise to help her whenever she needs him, and how often his dialogue acknowledges “good, that’s a promise” as a follow-up statement to her to show how much importance he puts to others’ word, too. it’s a private exchange of vows for themselves, another promise between them, one that emphasizes that what they have together is what they choose to make last every day, without anyone else involved in their decisions.
still determining exactly where it happens, but they go through with eloping when they return to ishgard as the place they live and made a home with each other (and a little bit of irony for them of two dark knights forgoing ishgard’s matrimonial traditions), and snow around them like when they first met.
