Mayonnaise
Y/N: What if mayonnaise came in cans?
Louis: Well, that would suck because you can’t microwave metal.
Clementine: Good morning to everyone except these two people

tws: mentions of death (marlon, mitch), clem being sad
you've done enough — clementine
you knew the world was shitty, though there was nothing you could do about it. at least you had her. clementine.
she was gorgeous. she was kind. she had a heart of gold even during the apocalypse. she was protective and she was caring. she was everything you wanted in a friend.
of course, it was scary when aj, the kid with her, killed marlon. but you voted for them to stay. you'd been at ericson's since the start of the apocalypse and they were exactly what it needed. marlon was your friend, at least you thought he was, but the idea of him trading them off to the raiders for safety made your heart sink. how could he be that selfish? how could he trade-off sophie and minnie like it was nothing?
it was over, you reminded yourself. lilly was dead and the raiders were gone, and you were safe again. you were devastated at the thought of mitch's death, and you wished he were still around, but you were happy, for the most part.
you were happy with everyone, even with all of the loss.
clem sat next to you in her bed. the two of you were spending more time together, and you were happy. you had feelings for her. you knew she probably didn't know about them, but if she did she was good at hiding it.
her crutches rested against the table along with her hat, and it was almost strange seeing her without it on. you wondered how long she'd had it for. it'd gotten raggedy, but she was attached to it. you assumed it was given to her before everything went to shit all those years ago. it felt like forever ago.
you let your gaze fall to clementine. her eyes were glued to her leg, or, what was left of it. she got bit, and aj managed to cut off her leg fast enough to where it didn't spread. you were beyond grateful for his actions and his bravery in such a stressful situation. you would've done the same thing. you couldn't lose her.
she had a sad look on her face, her bottom lip jutted out a bit in a small pout. you managed a weak smile and she gives you one back. you don't know what to say to her, so you decided to sit in silence for a few minutes, letting her think about what she needed to.
"did i do a good job?" her voice rang out in the quiet dorm room, and you turn your attention to her again. "with what? aj?" she nodded. it's all she could muster. "of course you did, clem. what's wrong?" you turned your body to her, so your eyes meet hers. she avoided your gaze, looking almost embarrassed. you noticed her eyes on her leg again.
"just thinking. i know that i got him here in the end, and i know that he's safe. but i- don't know." clem whispered, biting at the inside of her cheek, her head turning to the door. aj was outside somewhere, spending time with someone other than herself.
"he's happy, clem. he's happy and he's alive. you don't.. you don't have to worry." you reassured her, your hand resting on her shoulder as you smile. her eyes met yours and she smiled back at you, taking in a breath. "thank you. i wish i could do more around here again but.. you know," she gestured to her leg, and her gaze shifts to the crutches, "this."
"you've done enough." you told her.
she was so beautiful. her hair fell into her face, the curls framing her features so nicely. she was still covered in bruises, but they were beginning to fade as time went on. her eyes were bright as she looked at you, and you couldn't help but reach out and tuck a strand of her hair behind her ear.
you froze as soon as you realize what you'd done, and she raises an eyebrow as you pull your hand away from her. she let out a short chuckle, her hand resting on your thigh as she leaned towards you. her eyes were closed now, her head tilting to the side.
without thinking, she pressed her lips to yours. they were rough but so soft at the same time. she kissed you gently. it didn't last for very long, but when she pulled away, your eyes were wide and your mouth fell open.
"did you just kiss me?" you asked, and she nodded, shrugging her shoulders. "i wanted to. i've.. liked you for awhile." clem admitted, and you felt a smile starting to form on your features.
"i.. i like you too, clem. a lot."
she just laughed, her hand finding yours. she didn't bother looking down to find it, her thoughts and mind too fixated on you to care. her fingers entwine with yours. "yeah?"
"yeah." you confirmed.
"i hoped so." she squeezed your hand, and you returned it. the smile on your face never dropping as you admired every little part of her.

pairing: clementine x gn!reader
- at first, you and clementine butted heads every chance you got. whether it was because you were too similar to each other or too different, no one knew.
- you were always trying to one up each other and the loser got disgruntled every time they were beaten.
- your relationship stayed like this for months. you weren't enemies in the literal sense, but you were certainly rivals.
- eventually, you realised that without your little quarrel with clementine, things began to feel slightly empty, like you were missing something.
- the more time went on, the more you noticed slight changes in the way you felt towards her.
- she couldn't help but notice the same.
- what was once a feeling of anger at being beaten was replaced by a feeling of pride and congratulation. the two of you didn't try to appear angry at the other's achievements - if anything, you were happy.
- outsiders took note of this. there was something different.
- what once made you hate one another was now what made you click.
- conversations became more and more frequent and they became less aggressive, too.
- was this the beginnings of a mutual crush?
