hello and happy monday to our beloved lima losers and nyc rats!

 as of today, monday, may 3rd, thechoir-roomhq is sadly closing it’s doors! as the real world is opening up again, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for the admin team to devote time and energy into creating this vivid world we have loved so much. 

don’t be mistaken, this decision was as difficult and heartbreaking for us to make as it might be for you to hear! we cannot stress enough how much we have adored this group and it’s many colorful faces and characters these past nine months. this world we have built together has been truly incredible and the memories it holds will always be treasured. 

thank you, thank you, thank you so much to anyone and everyone who has ever stopped by the halls of mckinley or the streets of new york to craft stories that helped us smile in the lull of the pandemic in 2020. 

because you have all become near and dear to us ooc and ic, the choir room discord will remain open for anyone who wishes to chat in it for old time’s sake.

as poor sexy dan’s dad once said, our work here is done, there's only one thing left to do, say goodbye, we bid the choir room adieu with the fondest of regards.

IT IS 2043....

the classes of 2041 and 2042 have both graduated and scattered across the world to chase their dreams, pursue education, and bask in adulthood...or something like that. whether they be in new york, chicago, columbus, lima, l.a, or even overseas, it seems that good times, juicy drama, and adversity still follow them wherever they go. now weaning away from the “glory days” these lima losers at heart are facing problems familiar and unfamiliar at the same time, heartbreak, long distance, working, studying, and finding time to partake in the college party scene all at once.

spring break of 2043 was epic, but like all good things, it’s come to an end. class will be back in session come monday, jobs will be returned to, and life will pick back up to it’s repetitive and tedious nature. luckily, the end of the semester is close at hand, and hopefully they’ll find some relief in returning home for at least part of the summer...

SHOW CHOIR UPDATES

The New Directions won the 2041 National Show Choir Championship with a setlist of Northern Downpour (Ivy St.James, Julien Schuester), Perfect Places (Troubletones, 3 features available), and Life in A Northern Town, (5 features available)

Vocal Adrenaline placed second, and the Warblers placed third.

In the 2042 Season, the New Directions took home a second 1st Place Nationals Trophy, ushering in a new era of never before seen success.

Austin Nelson and Winnie Clarington-Smythe welcomed a daughter, Caroline Brooke Nelson, into the world in the Fall of 2041. Her Godparents are Zoe Puckerman and Rocky Remington.

Candy Motta moved to LA and has not really been in contact with anybody

Samuel Chang was offered a record deal with Columbia Records.

Rocky Remington was set to go to North Western in the fall of 2042, but after being contacted by his mother after years of radio silence, he impulsively changed his plan. He has been off the grid and exploring in South America with her, rebuilding their relationship. He hasn’t been in touch with anyone in Lima in the past year.

hello lima losers & legends! this is your formal announcement that the choir room hiatus is officially over and the rp has reopened. we hope you all enjoyed your break and are feeling inspired and rejuvenated to continue telling these stories. 

please read the plot update if you haven’t already, as well as our updated rules to see what counts as activity. we look forward to seeing you all back on the dash! 

all college students who were on spring break should be getting ready to head back to their respective cities to resume classes on monday, 3/22.

HAPPY THURDAY LIMA LOSERS && LEGENDS 

first of all, we just wanted to say thank you to those of you who participated in the member survey. given the results, we are very excited to announce that the time jump will be happening now rather than later. 

starting tomorrow (3/12) the choir room will be closed for renovation until friday (3/19). in this time, the admin team will focus on updating the main and discord. during this group wide hiatus, members will be tasked with filling out new app forms, updating bios, and going through their very own member to do list. we encourage you to not only take this time to do some headcanoning and planning of your own, but to relax, reset, and get stoked for college life!

in game, we will be bumping up spring break for our high schoolers to tomorrow (3/12) and when we resume on fri. 3/19, we’ll be seeing the world through the lens of these same characters, who are returning from their college spring break in 2043 and prepping to get back to class on monday, 3/22! a larger, more in depth plot drop will be posted later in the week. so wrap up your threads, make your spring break posts, and get ready for a slushie-free life for your characters!

due to a recent uptake in character applications that we are LOVING, we as a team have decided to move acceptances from first come first serve to every wednesday and saturday or sunday depending on when the admins have time! regardless, we hope that this decision will make it a little easier on ourselves when it comes to updating the main and also allow new characters to settle into the group.

ADMIN ANNOUNCEMENT

hello to all of our wonderful members and anyone passing through! today is a big day for all of us here in the US. we know everyone is stressed out by the election and we just want you all to know we’re feeling it too and that we hope the choir room can continue to be a fun, creative outlet for everyone during these stressful times. we would like to explicitly relay if any members need to take a break to take care of their mental health and manage their stress, please let the admins know. we also ask that everyone be respectful of each other today and be mindful of the fact that this is a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds. this goes without saying but we feel it’s important to say it anyway: if we hear from any members or witness any racism, homophobia, xenophobia, etc. it will not be tolerated and will be grounds for immediate removal from the group.

we will not prevent you from engaging in conversation if you wish, but we ask that it remain respectful and that it only occur in the serious channel of our discord or private messages. 

all this to say, we love and care for each and every one of our members at the choir room and want to make it clear this group exists as a safe and supportive place for all of us. so be mindful, take a deep breath,  and remember we’re sending love!

[JENNY BOYD, FEMALE, SHE/HER] who’s that? oh it’s {BABY PUCKERMAN}. i hear they’re {16} and a {JUNIOR} at {WMHS}, and are part of {NEW DIRECTIONS AND CELIBACY CLUB}. they’re known to be {LOYAL AND SELF SACRIFICING} and {WITHDRAWN AND PESSIMISTIC}. some people say they remind them of {FLICKERING LIGHT BULBS, CRYING GIRLS, AND MID-AFTERNOON SCREAMING MATCHES }. only one way to find out! [m, 23, she/her, cst]

Before Baby’s father died, she was a completely different person - a confident girl with big dreams, friends to spare, and a perfectly Christian ( and Jewish ) knack for being kind to those around her. Puck’s death changed everything for the Puckerman’s, though. Any kindness Baby once had had been replaced with the habit of second guessing every action - any confidence replaced with an underlying monster that pumped more anxiety in her veins that she knew what to do with. She pushed way nearly everyone, deciding instead to be a sad, bitter, and angry shell of the girl she used to be.

  Baby is miserable - there’s no way around it - but her mother has never truly cared to see just how miserable her daughter really is. It doesn’t matter how much money she spends on therapy every week; it doesn’t matter that the sound of Baby’s sniffling herself to sleep nearly every night echoes throughout the Puckerman household. None of that was important as long as Baby was playing the part, and setting herself up for a future. Baby wasn’t quite sure why she played along with her mother’s plans, but since her father’s death, she didn’t feel like she had much of a choice. 

  Sure, she didn’t trust Quinn - sometimes she was scared her mother would never really love her as much as she loved her older sibling - but Quinn was all she really had, and that was enough to convince Baby to do anything. She barely liked Beauty Pageants - even if the extra time with Fauna was one of her only saving graces - but she still busted her with  their shared pageant coach every single week. She would rather sit in her dark room alone than learn another freakin’ song, but she still shows up for glee club.. Don’t even get her started on the stupid celibacy club. She would be miserable either way, right? So why not be a shell that her mother could actually pretend to be proud of?

  Baby is not popular, though Quinn likes to lead her friends to believe that she is. She hardly has any friends - it’s basically a miracle when she gets invited out,, and not even most of the members in Glee club would be caught dead with the Psycho Puckerman. She pretends to be content with it all - that she’s happy with her few friends, and a reputation for blowing up at a moment’s notice - she knows, deep down, though, that she’s the pinnacle of Lima Loserdom. Doomed to be hated, doomed to fail - and doomed to be in that stupid town until the day she died, just like her parents.

ADMIN ANNOUNCEMENT

Thank you to those of you who participated in the member survey. We will continue to check responses until Friday at 11:59pm EST. We’ve taken your feedback so far and are working together to come up with solutions for the suggested areas of improvement. We have updated some dates in the calendar and encourage you all to go take a look. Additionally, we will be holding a captain vote in December for all relevant student activities with 5+ members (exception: student council).

We also wanted to remind everyone of one of our rules: bubble rping is not tolerated. We encourage everyone to reach out and make connections with one another for a more fulfilling and realistic experience.

For those of you that have not formed connections outside of ships or posted plotting calls, please do so. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment with a small town feel and that requires reaching out and making all sorts of connections between characters with a variety of players.

Again—thank you all so much! We’ve officially been open for a little over a month and we’re so excited to see how we continue to build our little world! If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to an admin.

winter sport tryouts begin today and all fall sports will end by the november 24th (the championship football game). 

please read below the cut for all available winter sports and alert the admins by friday at 5pm if your character(s) will be making any teams this season. 

the cheerios will now be cheering for the basketball team. the only exception to this is the annual cheerios on ice event (december 2nd) in which the cheerios will perform a half time show on ice at a hockey game.
