“The Dark Pictures Anthology” where it’s the same, but the casts are flipped around:

Man of Medan

Marine biology students Andrew, Angela, Taylor, and Daniel, along with their professor John, embark on a field trip on the Pacific Ocean as part of a class project. While exploring the ocean, the group comes across the long-lost WWII ship known as the Ourang Medan. At first, the group believes that they’re being haunted by the spirits of the vessel.

However, it’s later revealed that there was never a class project to begin with; in reality, lone fisherman Andrew Clarke stumbled on the ship and began hallucinating his dead family members. His family, who were all in the fishing industry, all died in a tragic accident that resulted in their ship sinking to the bottom of the ocean. Finding the Ourang Medan triggered Andrew’s traumatic memories, resulting in him hallucinating his family.

Later, Andrew Clarke comes across U.S. Coast Guardsman Vince, a family friend who was blamed for the Clarke family fishing trip accident.

Little Hope

Thrill seekers Brad, Alex, Julia, and Conrad visit the supposed ghost town of Little Hope. Despite warnings from park ranger Fliss, the group begins vlogging about their trip without respecting the sacredness of the land.

As night falls, the group begins seeing strange figures that may be connected to the ghosts of Little Hope. But before they can worry about the supposed ghosts lurking in the area, they encounter an actual threat when a group of violent criminals (Olson, Danny, Junior) take them hostage.

Later, it’s revealed that Little Hope was abandoned when miners stumbled across a strange mineral that emitted gases that caused violent hallucinations (based on the Centralia mine fire)

House of Ashes

War correspondents Kate, Mark, Erin, Jamie, and Charlie visit Baghdad a few days after the fall of Saddam Hussein. Eager to make headlines back in America, the war correspondents follow a group of U.S. Marines in a raid on a supposed site where Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction are being held.

Things go awry when the journalists find themselves in the middle of an attack by the Iraqi guard. To make matters worse, an earthquake splits the ground beneath them, sending the journalists into an underground, Sumerian temple. A temple that’s home to an ancient evil.

The Devil in Me

While on shore leave in Dubai, U.S. military personnel Eric, Rachel, Jason, and Nick, along with UAE soldier Salim, accept an invite by strange billionaire Dar Basri to his newly built mansion. Strangely enough, Basri is a superfan of America’s first serial killer, H.H. Holmes, and designed his luxurious mansion after Holmes’ infamous Murder Castle.

What starts out as a fun tour of a kooky billionaire’s mansion turns into a night of terror when Basri traps the five inside, subjecting them to various insidious booby traps and torture devices. It’ll take teamwork and wits to escape the new Murder Castle.

Den mest populära online-kursen någonsin

"The Science of Well-Being" är den mest populära online-kursen någonsin från Yale University. Och via portalen Coursera är den också helt gratis. En stor fördel är också att man väljer sin studietakt själv och enkelt kan ta del av bara de delar som intresserar en. Kursen gav mig många insikter och jag rekommenderar den till alla. Här är de största lärdomarna jag tog med mig.

1. Kunskap kommer inte förändra dig.

Bara för att jag har kunskap om ett ämne kommer det inte göra att jag ändrar mitt beteende. Till exempel vet jag att det är dåligt för miljön att äta kött, men det krävs mer än kunskapen om det för att jag ska sluta. Det som krävs är att jag förändrar mina vanor, så kommer beteendet också följa med.

2. Oändligt med pengar gör en inte lyckligare.

En amerikansk undersökning har visat att glädjen ökar ju mer man tjänar - men bara upp till en viss nivå. Brytpunkten verkar ligga runt ungefär 500 000 kronor om året. Efter det ökar inte ens välmående oavsett hur mycket mer man tjänar.

3. Ens lycka är inte förutbestämd.

Forskning har visat att våra gener påverkar ungefär 50 procent av vårt välmående. Det som alltså lägger grunden till om man är en person som tänker att glaset är halvtomt eller halvfullt. Däremot står yttre omständigheter, när något bra eller dåligt händer, bara för omkring 10 procent. De resterande 40 procenten styr vi själva över.

4. Man är som lyckligast på sin bröllopsdag.

Det har visat sig att lycka inte håller i sig speciellt länge. Säg att man i normala fall är en 6:a på en skala från 1 till 10. Då är det normalt att ens välmående ökar till en 8:a när man gifter sig. Tyvärr håller det oftast bara i sig det första året. Sedan går man tillbaka till den där 6:an man var innan man gifte sig.

5. Vi är dåliga på att förutspå hur händelser kommer påverka oss.

Vår intuition om hur mycket, och hur länge, en framgång eller ett misslyckande kommer påverka oss är ofta fel. Som exempel tror vi att ett misslyckat prov, eller ett bättre jobb kommer vara väldigt avgörande, och att känslan kommer sitta i länge. Men studier har visat att dessa händelser knappt påverkar vårt allmänna välmående alls, delvis för att vi vänjer oss så snabbt.

6. Människor hatar att känna sig underlägsna.

Vi jämför oss ständigt med andra. En undersökning lät personer välja mellan att hypotetiskt tjäna 30 000 kronor/mån medan alla andra på jobbet tjänar 20. Eller att istället tjäna 50 000 kronor/mån men då tjänar de andra 80. Det visade sig att de allra flesta valde det första alternativet, trots att det skulle ge mindre pengar i plånboken.

me and Em did another run of Man of Medan, this time determined to keep everyone alive. We succeeded! Except poor Conrad didn’t get quite a... happy ending. Seeing as how we sent him off to get the Coastguard and didn’t know where everyone had gone after we got the distributor cap back. Leaving him stuck hallucinating on the ship...

But! He’s not dead! So I believe that’s a victory, if not a moral one :)

Hey can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find good/clear references of characters tattoos from man of Medan or the quarry

I'm good for house of ashes and I don't think anyone (other than Hannah) has any in until dawn or little hope

1) Thomas Carter (INSECURE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, LOYAL): The lead pilot for the crew. He is voiced and mocapped by the game’s lead starring actor, Joe Keery (Steve Harrington from Stranger Things)

2) David Stafford (RATIONAL, OVERBEARING, COMMANDING): The leader of the team, who we briefly heard in the preview. His face model is Jozef Aoki (Merwin from House of Ashes, Danny from Man of Medan).

3) Sameer Desai (DEFENSIVE, FOOLHARDY, AMIABLE): The engineer of the team. His face model is Sukesh Khosla (Dar from House of Ashes, Holmes/Du’Met from The Devil in Me)

I’m sorry, games have taken over my fandom understanding a little of late. I always thought that if I ever played games I’d one day write fanfiction for, I’d try to write the story mostly following my choices - and then do additional content for what might have happened *boom, butterfly effect.’ So, with that in mind, here’s where games currently stand for main characters (I’ve bolded who my favourite characters were from the beginning, scored through those who died and put how under the cut).
