I did a thing where I randomised characters one those character creator apps and then “redesigned” them. They were both a little difficult since they really pushed me.
The first; DarkSpecter; was changed a lot from the OG. The most I changed was the outfit, altered the flank colours slightly, and combined the hair and tail to stick with what I got. The “royalty” from the crown was added in his background where his father is a Canterlot unicorn who owns a successful business that DarkSpecter is expected to take over. The cape and shirt is there to hide his stripes since they draw too much attention.
The second one, I tried my best to keep with the OG. Green and purple are really hard to work with, but I got it. He has no name or backstory. I was just focused on his actual design.

You know, speaking of Smashing Pumpkins, "Tonight Tonight" has been on my To Do list as a music video for years now, specifically as a Doctor/River video from Doctor Who.
This is only making me want to work on it more. Also, interesting fact: When I was in high school, I was in an RP eFed and my character, "DarkSpecter" originally came out to "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" when she debuted.
(She later changed to "Superbeast" by Rob Zombie with her tag team partner which evolved into the notion of her only using Rob Zombie themes (first "Living Dead Girl" then "Dead Girl Superstar") while the stable she ran came out to Rob Zombie as well. And on top of all that, the "show theme" was "Scum of the Earth" while her faction was pretty much running the show. Sorry, off-topic, just wanted to share.)
okay but tonight tonight is an amazing song for that.
and please feel free to share info with me at any time i live for hearing people infodump about things I LOVE IT

Shanie’s Action Figure Update 2/17/2021 Part 2
More New Figures!
Top Row: AEW Unrivaled Series 1 Brandi Rhodes MOC and Series 3 Riho MOC Second Row: Elite 83 Sasha Banks Third Row: Elite 84 Rhea Ripley, Basic 117 Toni Storm (Chase) Bottom Row: Decade of Domination Series 1 Natalya (Photo from Google)
So yeah, I split this up into two, and now I realize I probably could have gotten away with one. There were a couple figures which I thought were new, but I just realized I already included in an earlier one.
Anyway! So, for the record, that AEW Brandi figure is NOT new, I just don’t think I’ve ever shown her before. Good heavens she isn’t new and LORDY I did not pay the going rate for her. I got her at Ringside Collectibles for cost, which is awesome considering she’s going for a ludicrous amount right now on eBay. Sadly, that’s the only one of her I have, so when Series 1 hopefully gets re-released (as we were promised) I can score one for loose. The Riho is a duplicate that I got at Walmart. I’ve decided I’m going to try and do one loose, one Mint on Card for all the AEW women’s figures. I really like the Unrivaled packaging and will do my best to keep them minty on my wall.
The Rhea Ripley is awesome. I love her. Seriously great figure. The only thing I might change is her hair, but I can live with it considering the amount of detail on her clothing. Blows her basic figure out of the water. (EDIT: That belt doesn't come with the figure. It's a repainted NXT Championship that came with the original Shayna figure. The Shayna figure came with the men's title so I painted it silver.) Toni Storm I specifically wanted the chase, so I paid extra for it, only to find out that the chase is painted over the molded parts for the regular figure, which bugs me a bit. Oh well, won’t notice it on the shelf, that’s what I always say.
Regarding the Natalya, this is what the figure looks like, although it isn’t my photo. I just yoinked it from google. I forgot to photograph her and I’m not dragging her off my shelf to do so now. I did already have a Nattie figure, but this one is different enough to warrant a second. She’s the only real figure from the Decade set that I wanted, so I’m glad I found her at retail. Good stuff. Gave the belt to my custom “DarkSpecter” figure though. Natalya with the Diva’s belt just doesn’t feel right to me.
Finally, Sasha. We’ve been waiting for this figure for nearly two years now, and she’s lovely. Word of warning though, if you’re into figures and you want this one, you are going to find it nearly impossible to remove her coat without destroying the figure. It does NOT come off easily, and barely at all. Luckily, I keep almost all my entrance gear on the figures, so she’s fine. Great figure, about damn time.
Regarding incoming figures. I have not one, not two, but THREE incoming AEW figures waiting to show up at Ringside Collectibles to ship. I have an Unrivaled Series 2 Hangman, Series 4 Matt Hardy, and Series 5 Jon Moxley. The Matt and Mox won’t be here till May though. Hangy should be here within a few weeks. Other than that, I haven’t got a thing owed to me. With AEW Series 5 up for Pre-Order though, I’m hoping I can get an order in for Jurassic Express. They’re two of my biggest wants, even though I have a feeling we’re never getting a Marko. One the WWE Side, I’m going to try and get the Elite 80 Kevin, as well as Elite 85 Liv, Taker, Bray, and Black. FFH Exclusive Bray is also on the list, but I want to order him with something else that will ship at a similar time, right now he’s on backorder. Finally, Top Picks Roman and Ultimate Edition Edge are on my list, but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to go for either of them. AEW is super-hot right now, so they come first.
Well, that concludes the second part of this edition of Shanie’s Action Figure Update. I’m done for a while. Hopefully. We’ll see what happens when I get some more money for something other than pre-orders, but that definitely won’t be until next month.

Shanie’s Latest Custom Figure is...
... HERSELF
Tumblr media
Now, I know what you are all thinking. “Shanie! You don’t look anything like that!” Well guess what. I used to. This figure is based on a character I roleplayed in an E-Fed named ACW from 1999-2001. For those of you who don’t know what an E-Fed is, think D&D for Wrestling. My characters name was DarkSpecter, The Dark Mistress, and she was a BADASS. (Note, I was aiming for DarkSpectre, but didn’t know how to spell the word “Spectre” so thus the E and R got switched)  DarkSpecter was originally one of two women in the ACW. She joined the fed in 1999 and quickly teemed up with Flamerunner (I can’t remember his exact name) to form the tag team The FireStarters. They soon captured tag team gold, and when the doomsday stable REALITY was formed, they were two of the founding members.  REALITY wreaked havoc on the ACW, with their only real opposition being the longstanding stable DAMN. When the only other woman in the fed, Acebabe, joined DAMN, a rivalry for the ages was born. Ace and DS fought all over the nation, from Know Your Role Blvd to Jabroni Drive, with their feud culminating in a hair vs hair match that DS lost. Her head was shaved and she was driven from the federation in shame. The ACW universe thought that was the last they’d seen of The Dark Mistress. But they were wrong. A year later, the fates would so have it that a talent, borrowed from the WWF(E) would grace the ACW with his presence.  A young Shane O Mac offered his managerial services to several members of the ACW roster simultaneously. Nobody thought much of it, and the fans just figured it was more of the same from him, with his fingers in everybody’s pies at once. Then, one fateful night, as the still formidable DAMN stable stood tall in the ring, that all of Shane’s “clients” rushed the ring at once. The five men pummeled DAMN, and stood towering over the carnage. Shane fist bumped them all, and grabbed a mic. He told them all that on that night, in that very ring, a new REALITY had fallen upon the ACW. A new REALITY that would destroy everything that DAMN and it’s allies held dear. And frankly, it was a new REALITY that nobody in the ACW was ready for. And who better to usher in this new REALITY? “Who is this irresistible creature who has an insatiable love of the dead...” The sounds of Rob Zombie’s “Living Dead Girl” blasted through the ACW arena, and DarkSpecter appeared at the top of the stage, dressed in black, with her hair and dignity returned once more. She stalked her way down the ramp, and Shane lowered the ropes for her to enter. She took the mic, and as a roar of boos came from the crowd, she addressed them for the first time in 18 months. “DAMN wants to come out here and spout their nonsense about how “DAMN we’re good, DAMN we’re fine” and whatever they go on about? Well how about this. “DAMN, your finished.” Because tonight, a new REALITY is born, and you boys are in way over your head. And just as we destroyed your asses in the past, we will do so again. Under my leadership, we will be stronger and more ruthless then ever. DAMN? DAMN, fellas, you don’t stand a chance. Get ready, boys and girls. ACW has just been given a REALITY check!” And the rest, was history.

So Fun Fact:
Back in 1999, I was a member of a little website run by CBS called “Wrestleline”. It was a moderated PG forum in the midst of the Attitude Era, so it was... INTERESTING to say the least.
We had a E-Fed on there that many people from the site were members of. It was called ACW. What “ACW” stood for I never knew other than the W was likely Wrestling.
Anyway, I was one of only TWO females that ever was a member of this little endeavor. It ran for two stints, and during the second stint, I was the ONLY woman involved.
Needless to say, intergender “matches” were my thing. My ability was basically that of a crusierweight fighting a heavyweight. Perpetually high flying and taking full advantage of the “you can’t hit what you can’t catch” trope.
I have a point here and I’m getting to it.
My “Gimmick” was that of “DarkSpecter”, a psychotic hell spawn of a witch who started out as a prominent member of a Dystopian faction called “REALity”. During the second run of the “company” I was not only a member, but the friggin faction LEADER. And wouldn’t you know it, we were one of the top two factions in the fed, at one point holding every single title the company had to offer.
Here’s my point: From DAY ONE SanITY has deeply reminded me of my time in that E-Fed. SanITY is the closest thing any wrestling federation has EVER come to REALity. And Nikki Cross is BASICALLY MY CHARACTER ALL OVER. Her batshit craziness and always looking for a fight is extremely similar to what DarkSpecter was. True, she’s more of a brawler, but then, she fights women. She can afford to go toe to toe with opponents. I on the other hand, had to play keep away or get pummeled.
So. For all the world to see, THIS my friends is why I am declaring myself a permanent Nikki Cross fan. I want to play dammit.
(Oh and fun fact. My “Manager” in that faction was Shane. Yes the powers that ran the company let me borrow him, after I proved I could convincingly write promos for him in HIS voice. Also, I once was in a tag team with someone who had been allowed to use Stephanie as THEIR manager. One of the BEST pieces of Wrestling ‘fanfic’ I ever wrote, was a backstage segment between the two of them. Everyone was amazed at how perfectly I captured their Attitude Era dynamic. Damn I wish I still had that somewhere. Truly some of my best work.)

Sometimes I get really really sad because I can't remember the name of the guy who gave me the "Shanie" name.
I can remember his face. We were actually long distance friends through the early chat servers. Skype had just been invented and he taught me to use it so I could see his face while we talked. (I, meanwhile, couldn't afford a webcam so my face wasn't seen.)
I remember a few things. First, he was from Sweden but spoke better English than I did. Second, he looked remarkibly similar to a boyfriend I dated soon after. And Third, while I can't remember his name, it was something that was feminine in the US but often used for guys in Sweden.
But I can't remember what the name was and it bugs me every day. I think it began with an S but I can't be sure.
Anyway, he was the one who first named me "Shanie" and after he started using it on the servers EVERYONE in the server used it. And it just stuck.
I've been Shanie for I'd say over 2 decades now.
Funny. When the internet became a thing, I had originally chosen the name "Technomancer". Then I found out how common that was and picked "DarkSpecter"
Silly me. I really thought it would be a "I get to choose my name" sort of deal. Nope, the name chose me. I just decided to go with it.
Interestingly enough, I've dated a decent number of guys in my life, plus had a fair amount of hookups. The only name that has ever been repeated was "Brandon." I've had more guys in my life named "Brandon" than any other name. in fact, it's the only guy-name in my life that, when discussing stuff with my family, I have to specify which Brandon I mean because of how confusing it gets.
You know. "Brandon"
As in Shane's middle name.
Funny how that works out.
