i feel like rick riordan often justifies equality by negating a counterargument. but in bringing up a counterargument, he is actively providing negative ideas to his audience. it may be a means and not the end, but he consistently sets inequality as the status quo, as expected

fucked up a presentation today

i hate group presentations

roughly one credit at my school is $1545 my 3 credit class this semester is then $4635 at roughly 3 classes per week (15 classes per semester) I get 7 classes off for this class so I have 38 classes total for this class. This totals in at roughly $122 every time I attend my one hour class.

We spent the class two classes working on presentations and spent today, and will spend the next 3 days presenting. That's six classes which is about $732. Worth? Nah.

genuinely fuck college and how much it costs

and fuck the busy work too, I am not coming to my mega expensive class to learn shit you had due yesterday in our online text book. I am only coming to that class because you grade attendance.

and fuck group presentations, I just have personal issues with them.

college students are made up of a few groups I think,

-people that are just here for the degree to get a job

-people that have no idea of what they're doing and are only at college because it's the safe path

-people that have an idea of what they're doing and are only doing college because it's the safe path

what I am realizing more and more is that if I want to learn the internet is a great resource in front of me. Because I can't guarantee learning shit from college I guess.

I'm just upset and fucking up in a group presentation was the straw that broke the camel's back

Hi everyone... we need help. My bank account has been/ is negative, my moms phone gets shut off soon(and we rely on that for her phones hot spot which we use for internet) and the utilities bill is still behind and the amount we owe in past due rent is insane, and each month we keep having to owe more due to late fees. Our landlord called me today trying to get to my mom, and so things have become heated up again. today my mom had to use the last of her cars gas to go to the social security office to drop off paperwork for my SSI bullshit after she got off work.

The guy misheard my mom because it was over the phone and he put down that I haven’t been paying any rent w my SSI and so they deducted my monthly income by like between $300-400ish amount since I’ve gotten it back and so she had a set date to fix their mistake, and that final day was Today, and she has an appointment on Monday in a different town, that she can’t make now.

As you can imagine, it is a stressful time. If you want to ask about anything you can. I’m disabled and transgender, I stay home and take care of my 3 year old sister, while my mom works and so forth. I get SSI, but not the full amount people get monthly, until someone fixes my information in my case. I am a “dependent” and so I cannot fix it or so forth myself. my moms stubbornness to listen to me has doomed me for possibly a really long while.

But if anyone can help out or anything and reblog this post I’d be super happy,

I've had a bunch of comments on Skies Above Are Blue this past week, and I'm not sure where those are coming from, but it did remind me I need to port my assorted Tumblr fic over to AO3! I'll be working on that this week.

On the off chance anyone is still following me here for fic, I haven't posted any lately, but I have several things in the works waiting for my semester to end so I can finish/edit and post them:

• three 40k-each-ish Stranger Things Steve/Eddie fics, all of which are, um, AUs:

- a domestic roommates futurefic story set in the 90s

- a s4 finale AU in which Steve and Eddie are ghosts(?) but they're fine! everything is fine

- a third one I'm excited about but keeping under wraps for now

• OFMD fic from last summer? the new season might beat me there, in which case I will probably sit on it until I've seen how s2 goes, because it is a full AU drawing on a lot of historical pirates the show hasn't gotten into yet

• The West Wing (yes, TWW, in the year 2023) fic which is my current academic stress avoidance hyperfixation project and thus is at 60k and steadily climbing!

- an AU that branches off of canon about a decade before the show starts, and is a reworking of seasons 6 & 7 plus a few years after

- the main pairing is Josh Lyman/Matt Santos, but along the way this turned into a sprawling many-pov fix-it of sorts that won't stop growing? so who knows how long it will ultimately be

so that's me rn, also a bunch of vid wips for Kinnporsche and Thor and TKEM and other things! vids! also probably waiting for summer break, but someday: fic and vids.

Walt Disney’s total DTC subscribers all in totaled 221.1 million for the company’s fiscal third quarter ended in June. That was a big beat for Disney+ and its parent, and also marked the first time anyone has passed Netflix in total streaming subs.

Netflix reported 220.67 million total global subs, after losing almost 1 million for the three months.

Disney’s numbers include Disney+ (152M), ESPN+ (22.8M) and Hulu total, including Live TV, at (46.2M).

Im feeling so utterly lost in regards to my life at the moment, I'm considering moving out of my city and moving somewhere closer to home. Last night I couldn't stop crying because I was thinking about how rarely I get to see my family, but at the same time having to uproot everything and move across the country is so fucking risky. My company only has one other office which is in London so I'd have to find something completely new. The prospect of leaving everything behind is honestly quite exciting to me at the moment. I don't think living in a flat which is falling apart and has no heating and hot water most of the time and doesn't even have proper windows is doing me any good, but it's all I can afford, and even then I've accumulated over £4000 in debt from taking out loans to try and keep up with my rent. I think it's just time to say, this was an idea, but it hasn't worked, and start again.
