It was an exciting day. 

Pearl, who’d been mindlessly puppeteered by White Diamond for so long, was being returned to her diamond. Of course, she knew that Pink Diamond was different now; she was Steven (whatever that meant). Pearl knew that Steven was different than Pink Diamond, having been given the quickest of rundowns from Blue and Yellow Pearl. While she wasn’t sure she fully understood what they even meant, she was excited to have control of herself back.

The pink gem was standing as straight as she possibly could as she was escorted to Steven’s quarters by her fellow pearls. The excitement of this development had her nearly shaking, though she tried not to show it. 

The moment the door opened to the tower room, Pearl curtsied deeply before looking at Steven with her one working eye. “Hello, My Steven.” She spoke, before standing back up straight.

Coral was a very... cautious gem.

Homeworld was a stranger nowadays with all the times she's traveled around and throughout the galaxy. She also made sure not to be around most gems nowadays as based off of the ruling of the diamonds, Coral has see how other gems were treated if only seen as lower class.

Carrying the satchel around her waist, she continued walking around as a quartz soldier until she reached her destination. from behind the building, she shifted into a lavender sapphire to get pass the guarding the front gate. Once she was allowed access, she walked through and waited until the doors closed before she walked into the room.

🔶 She's a strange one too! She otherwise would have simply sprinted into action if not for the sound of their voice, but the way she turns to face them, her midsection turns first, then her chest and head, like they were wheels on a bolt. Her many arms poised elegant even as she glances around for the voice. And she looks down, and she spots them and crouches to meet them.

" Oh-- oh my stars, of course..! I nearly forgot-- you must be our dear little Steven! The boy that has yet to see a fusion quite as magnanimous~ as myself... " A long and slender hand finds her tuxedoed chest, a playful laugh at her own self praise.

" Let me explain. Here's the twist-- we know each other! I~ am what happens when not just two, but three gems... combine into one being. Recognize them? " She raises her gem-set palms up to her forehead. And she does a little jazz hands. They didn't see her fuse so-- she felt that needed explanation. " And together we are something greater than the sum of our parts... If I do say so myself. Myself being, without further ado-- Sardonyx~! " She stands up tall just to bow for them.

" And it is my truest pleasure to perform for you tonight! "

((It's been fun telling the story of how Steven's parents met as Greg, particularly--as Ally and anyone else reading along may notice--how Greg is completely glossing over Marty's role in the story. In canon, Steven had already heard how Greg met Rose prior to the show's start, but he only heard Marty's role in it come "Story for Steven" when he found the man's picture and questioned his father about it. So, of course, what I've been aiming for here is to write the story as accurately as possible from Greg's point of view while leaving Old Farty Marty entirely out of it, with this version meant to be the same as the one Greg gave Steven in canon before the show. Princey finding out about Marty later on certainly isn't off the table, though I'd probably abridge at most if Greg tells him that one in the future, since it'd just be repeating the episode.))

When Spinel heard a voice, she immediately looked up at the origin of the sound, having hoped that Pink was finally back. But it didn't take long for her to realize that wasn't Pink...but instead...someone who had the same gem as her but looked nothing alike.

Spinel looked in confusion at the stranger. They claimed to be Pink, but apart from the gem, they looked nothing like her. And besides what even was a Steven?

When she tried to speak, her voice sounded very coarse from the very long period of silence.

"How long ? Um...I think around 6000 years..."

“Blue!” Baby princey’s first word for blue (Diamcndlegacy)

Blue Diamond couldn't help it. A wave of overwhelming joy came from the large woman as she scooped up the small fragile child in her palm. Wanting nothing more than to hold them close as she hears the small babbled word. Their first word for her fills her with such an emotion she's unable to hold it back.

A wave of blue light radiating from her, not of sorrow but holding her joy. Still she would cry, happy to hear their pink speak once more even in this strange new body. " Yes, that's right. " She'd praise the baby not realizing they couldn't quite know what her words meant.

" Do you remember me? " Came a hopeful question, hoping maybe they recognized something familiar in her.

When she was made for Pink, her main purpose was to spy and gain intel on the planet Earth during the colonization. After the 'shattering', Coral was kept by Blue until she was reassigned to Pink Diamond again who called themselves Steven. Unlike the diamonds, Coral listened to Steven's needs and wants as much as she could.

Coral sees herself as a big sister to Steven/Princey and did her best to sneak off to various colonies or new planets the diamonds haven't taken just to give Steven a taste of the outside worlds so he would have his own secret collection.

Whenever Blue, Yellow or White would punish Steven, Coral would sneak into the tower make sure Steven was fed comfort him, even when she knew she couldn't stay warm. She was only caught one by Blue and was warned not to do it again. However, it didn't prevent Coral from trying to help Steven.

When the Crystal gems snuck Steven/Princey to earth, Coral followed to make sure she knew Steven was safe. She didn't interfere unless Steven was in serious trouble. She made sure to leave him hints she was there, but she was on his side, though she rather not be seen by any of the gems. Especially Pearl.
