Depth of Beauty - Good Omens Fic
New Good Omens fic - Ineffable Wives! Written for @bingokisses prompt: Air Kiss and Braiding Hair.
Aziraphale needs a change. She wishes she felt beautiful, confident - more like her wife.
Crowley, though, sees the beauty within her. She just wishes Aziraphale could see the same.
--
Aziraphale leaned towards the mirror, thick black pencil trembling in her unsteady grip. Already her eyes were framed in carefully blended blacks and greys and golds, but they didn’t look smokey so much as…smudgy. And rather reminiscent of a racoon.
How did Crowley do this? Every time Aziraphale tried, the pencil tugged uncomfortably at her eyelid and left a dark, uneven blotch, a stuttering line much thicker on one eye than the other.
She glared at the mirror, but it was no good. She couldn’t miracle the cosmetics on unless she understood how they worked and she…didn’t. The last time Aziraphale had made her face up, the fashion had been for thick white paint and large red circles on the cheeks, and that had been trial enough. But this?
She sighed. Right. Lipstick.
Aziraphale selected a tube and twisted the bottom – oh, my. That was very red. But she was sure she’d seen Crowley wear it before, so that must be right.
Now what? She pursed her lips as if kissing the air and smeared the lipstick across her bottom lip—
A loud banging on the door. “Are you finished, Angel? It’s been almost an hour!”
“N-nearly!” She turned back to the mirror and – oh, bugger, there was a bright red line from the corner of her mouth all the way up to her cheekbone. Aziraphale grabbed a towel and tried to scrub the entire mess off, but it merely smeared, turning the entire bottom half of her face pink as lipstick, powders, and liquids all blended into paste.
Could…more foundation fix this? Or perhaps that’s what the concealer was for? She searched through the jumble of supplies, scattering them across the bathroom counter – a bottle of Crowley’s perfume teetered, toppled, and shattered on the tile floor.
“Blast!”
“Aziraphale?”
“No! I – I have this under control.” She started sweeping the glass shards into a pile by hand, planning to miracle them whole, but the sharp end sliced her finger, drawing out a bead of lipstick-red blood.
It was barely any pain at all, but of course Crowley sensed it immediately.
“I’m coming in.”
“Don’t—”
The bathroom door flew open and there – framed against the backdrop of their new bedroom – stood Crowley, tight black dress showing off every curve she could eke from her narrow frame, thick red curls framing a face made even more glamorous by dramatic makeup. One perfect eyebrow arched. “I see you’ve changed.”
“Yes, well.” Aziraphale stood up, tugging at her new dress. She’d thought it very fetching in the shop, belted tartan with wide lapels, short skirt and sleeves, neckline a little daring. But compared to Crowley, she looked…dull, uninspired. Frumpy, even, with the skirt well below her knees. “I’ve been wanting to…experiment a little…”
“You have? Since when?”
“Ah. Well. A month or so. Since…since we moved.” Aziraphale waved her hand vaguely to indicate the entire cottage. “I thought it might be nice to – to try something and, well, since it’s our first night out on the town, it seemed as good a time…” She tugged at her newly-lengthened hair. The plan had been for shoulder-length curls, tighter than Crowley’s, but as they’d grown, they’d simply become more unruly, transforming into a frizzy, tangled mess. A disaster. A nightmare.
This was why it was better not to try.
Well, that was easy enough to fix. One snap of her fingers would undo the night’s work, restore her usual appearance. But as she raised her hand, Crowley stepped quickly next to her, heels clacking sharply on the tile floor. Fingers tipped with red nails sharp as daggers gently enveloped Aziraphale’s hand, while Crowley’s other arm slid around her waist, as if they were about to dance.
“Angel. You look beautiful.”
She huffed. “Stop it. This is hardly the time for flattery.”
“You do.” Crowley pressed her lips to Aziraphale’s forehead, which must have been disgusting with blended oils and powders, but she didn’t react. “Would I lie to you?”
“Hmph. You say you don’t, but that could be a lie, too. I know how wily you are.” But Aziraphale leaned into the embrace, sliding her hands up Crowley’s back and finding quite a lot of exposed skin. Aziraphale really shouldn’t even have bothered with this silly outfit.
Crowley’s now-free hand settled into Aziraphale’s hair, nails gently scratching at her scalp. “You are always beautiful. You are,” she added before Aziraphale could object.
Sighing, Aziraphale stepped back to look up at her wife, clasping her hands. “Thank you, my dear. But I think we can agree that this is one experiment that rather failed? Or do you honestly think I can go out like this?”
Crowley pursed her lips, narrowing her eyes until the long black lashes concealed them as completely as her glasses once did. “Well...a few adjustments might be in order. Just a few. Will you let me try?”
What did she have to lose? Aziraphale rose up on her toes and pecked the corner of Crowley’s mouth, carefully, to avoid smudging the bright red lipstick. “If you think it will do any good.”

Hey doll hey! Hope you are having a great day/night and that you are in good spirits, with as little pain as possible, and that you have plenty of spoons today. I’m having a pretty good day. My pain levels are somewhere in the middle range and I have a good deal of energy today. It’s cold here in Florida today and my body isn’t liking it, but it’s also not giving me too hard of a time. For today’s testing old makeup products I have chosen Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer ($32 at Ulta), Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer ($28 at Ulta and Sephora), and Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation (Discontinued). I have also tested out the 2 newest ColourPop palettes that I hauled…. It’s My Pleasure ($12 on their website) and Lilac You A Lot ($12 on their website). As a side note…. for my brows I tried a newer to me technique. I tried the soap brow method and I have to say I really liked the way my brows came together today. Anyway, I’ll review all 5 products in Final Thoughts but for now let’s jump into the Face of the Day …..
Tumblr media
Base: I primed my face using Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer (). I color corrected using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in the shade Brightening Peach. For foundation I am wearing Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation (Discontinued) in the shade Light Medium. I concealed my under eyes using Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer ($28 at Ulta, Sephora, and on their website) in the shade Light Medium. I set my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta or Sephora) in the shade Translucent and then warmed up my face using NYX Matte Bronzer ($10at Ulta) in the shade Deep Tan. I set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, center of forehead, and bridge of the nose using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website).
Tumblr media
Eyes: I primed my lids using Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium Honey and set it using more of the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. I first went in with the It’s My Pleasure Palette ($12 on the ColourPop website) and used the shade Kittenfishes (a cool lavender matte) as my 1st transition shade. I then popped over to the Lilac You A Lot Palette ($12 on the ColourPop website) and used the shade Imagine That (a pastel lavender matte) as my 2nd transition shade. For my crease I used the shade Iffy (a cool toned true purple matte) from the same palette. On my mobile lid I used the shade Wake Me (an orchard with a pink flip metallic) on the inner 1/3 and then switched back to the It’s My Pleasure Palette to use Chick Lit (a deep amethyst metallic) on the outer 1/3. I then went back to the Lilac You A Lot palette and used the shade Fluff (an icy violet with gold and silver reflect metallic) on the middle 1/3 to blend the inner and outer shades together. I then used a combo of the shade Filtered (a reddish plum matte) from this palette and Sleeper (a deep eggplant matte) from the other palette to deepen the crease a bit and on the outer v. On my lower lash line I first used the more of the shade Kittenfish and then the shade Iffy and then I deepened the lash line using more of Sleeper to create a smokey drop shadow. On the inner corners I used the shade Trainwreck (a soft lavender with a pink flip metallic) from the Lilac You A Lot palette to highlight them. I used the Soap Brow technique to set my brows using Neutrogena Original Fragrance-Free Gentle Facial Cleaning Bar ($1.97 at Walmart). I then filled in my brows using Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil ($24 at Ulta) in the shade 4.5 and then carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter Pencil ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that with the shade Lucid (a pinkish nude matte) from the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette ($48 at Sephora). I lined my waterlines with the Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Gel Eyeliner ($5 on their website) in the shade Nude. I primed my lashes with Loreal Voluminous Primer ($6.79 at Target) and then used Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($6.79 at Target).
Tumblr media
Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I am using Loreal True Match Super Blendable Blush ($7.99 at Target and $11.99 at Ulta) in the shade W 3-4 Barely Blushing (a tanish peach satin). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of the nose, Cupid’s Bow, and center of my forehead using BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($22 at Sephora) in the shade Champagne Pop. I then used MAC Mineralize Skin Finish ($36 at Ulta and MAC) in the shade Medium Golden as a finishing powder to blend out all the edges of the blush, bronzer, and bake. I lined my lips with NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner ($4 at Ulta) in the shade Stockholm (a very pale peachy nude) and filled in the lips using Loreal Matte Lip Stain ($11.99 at Ulta) in the shade 418 Empower (a pale yellow toned peachy nude) and then I topped the lips off with NARS Lip Gloss ($24 at Sephora and on their website) in the shade Chihuahua (a light berry pinkish coral).

Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                   So the soap brow technique was so easy to do. My brows felt a little bit sticky but soon dried down and held my brows in place but they came out fluffier than when I use brow gel ….. I am thinking I may do this technique a lot more seeing as though I have very sparse brows.
The It’s My Pleasure and Lilac You A Lot palettes were so easy to work with. There was no patchiness or skipping, barely any kickback in the pans, and very little fallout on the face. Every shade I used was rich in pigment that did not muddy when buffed into each other. These palettes offer enough shade variation that you can get several distinctly different looks with each. I’m going to have so much fun with these 2 palettes this Spring, even though I don’t have separate colors that I use for the different seasons, I just use what I feel like using, when I feel like using it.
The Tarte Poreless Mattifying Primer ….. ugh the scent!!! I just can not get passed the scent of this thing. It’s the reason i almost never reach for it. I like that it really blurs the pores and smooths out the texture on my face…. but that scent is just so gross. I don’t even know how to explain how this stuff smells, it’s some where between burnt plastic and play-dough. I’m finding it hard pressed to keep using this product. It’s almost completely full and I just can’t bring myself to keep using it because of the scent. I know it’s almost $40 that I’ll be wasting but I am decluttering this one from my collection.
Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer….. I freaking love this concealer so much. It’s a light weight consistency that builds up beautifully. I have the shade Light-Medium and it’s my perfect skin match…. I want to use this one up so I can repurchase it in the shade Light-Nude so that I can bring some light to the under eye area. I am most definitely keeping this concealer in my collection.
Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation….                                                                                           I’d give this foundation a solid B-. It just doesn’t wow me anymore. It’s a very light weight serum foundation that leaves the face feeling a bit greasy. This foundation was discontinued and so even if it wowed my I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on it anyway. It looks pretty and is a light coverage foundation great for the Spring, but I just don’t like it enough to keep it in my collection. I have decluttered it.
Well that’s all dolls. Stay tuned tomorrow when I try out another 4 items from my older makeup stash to see if I liked it or if I will declutter it. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and remember …. save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO

Morning dolls. How are you doing today? I woke early in pain today… It’s pouring outside and my pain level is through the roof. I started to think, I’m just going to take it easy today. Maybe I wont do my makeup today and I’ll just do a hair mask and a face mask today…. Then I thought but doing my makeup always makes my spirits happy… so I jumped in the shower and sat down and did my makeup….
I’m low on spoons today so I couldn’t wash my hair …. I’ll do it tonight before bed …. so I used my trusty Batiste Dry Shampoo ($8.99 at Ulta) and a mess of hair spray to do my hair today.
As a Fibromyalgia sufferer we only have a limited amount of energy, and that energy decreases so much when we are having a high pain day…. we often have to cut corners or just skip something in order to just get by for that day…. Today is one of those days.
Well on to the face of the day ….
BASE: I’m trying to use up my It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer ($38 on their website) so that’s what I used today. I woke up with so much darkness under my eyes that I really had to pack on the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in Light-Medium. I was a little dry around my eyes today so I stuck with my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30 at Ulta) in the color Medium 1 Custard. Because I am low on spoons today I chose a foundation that I know always works up easy… Hourglass Seamless Finish Foundation Stick ($46 at Sephora) in the color Buff. I set my whole face with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder ($45 on the Beautylish website) in the color 2 Medium. I again chose a bronzer that needed little effort to work in to the skin … I chose Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel ($50 on the Chanel website) in Universal Bronze.
Tumblr media
EYES: I started to skip out on doing my eye shadow but I was looking very pale today so just chose to do a simple low key look today. I primed, as always, with my Tarte Shape Tape ($25 at Ulta) in the color Light Medium Honey. I picked my BH Cosmetics Ultimate Matte 42 Color Shadow Palette ($28 on their website) as my palette today since the shadows work up so fast and easy. I set my Shape Tape with the first color of the 3rd row (a medium pale cream matte). As my 1st transition shade I chose the 2nd color of the 3rd row (a pale coral peach matte). I chose the 4th shadow of the 1st row (a deep orange coral matte) as my second transition shade. I deepened my crease, outer v, and outer 1/3 of my lid with the 3rd shadow of the 4th row ( a medium true brown matte). I added a bit of definition to my outer v by  mixing the 6th shadow of the 5th row (a dusty true mid toned brown matte) with the last color of the last row (a dusty true black matte). I skipped liner today and I skipped doing a drop shadow on the lower lash line, instead I just added a bit of definition on the lower lash line with the 3rd shadow of the 4th row (a medium true brown matte). On the inner 2/3 of my lid I used Hikari Cream Pigment ($15 on the Hikari website) in the color Honey Dew and for my inner corner highlight I used Urban Decay Single Shadow ($20 at Ulta) in the color Midnight Cowboy. I did my brows the same way I’ve been doing them this week …. I used Professional Brow Powder ($10 at Oh La La Brow Bar) in the color Dark Brow and ELF Wow Brow ($4 on their website) in the color Dark Brown. I highlighted my brow bone with the BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set it with the 1st shade of the 1st row of the BH Cosmetics Palette (a vanilla white matte). I had left my favorite mascara in the other room so I just picked out the one I forgot I purchased when I did my full face of NYX products…. NYX On The Rise Volume Liftscara ($7.70 at Ulta) in the color black.
Tumblr media
CHEEKS and LIPS: I already had my BH Cosmetics Classic Blush 10 Color Blush Palette ($12 on their website) at my makeup desk so I chose the 3rd color on the 2nd row (a soft pinky coral matte). I chose the NYX Born to Glow Highlighting Palette ($25 at Ulta) and chose the 2nd color on the 2nd row (a pale gold shimmer highlighter). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, temples, brow bone, and cupid’s bow. I picked Loreal 6 Hr Infallible Never Fail Lip Liner (6.99 at Walmart) in the color Coral (a true toned coral) and I filled my full lips with this liner. Then I chose NYX Butter Gloss ($5 at Ulta) in the color Creme Brulee (a milky pink coral gloss).
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts….
Hourglass Seamless Finish Foundation Stick: A+++                                                                 This foundation comes in shades with 9 dedicated to deeper skin tones. You get .25 ounces of product, but a little goes a long way with this one …. like 1 swipe for each cheek and the forehead …. and that gives enough extra for the rest of the face and neck. It’s billed as a full coverage that is water proof and long wearing. This is 100% my favorite foundation! I forgot I had it in my collection. It fell off my foundation shelf when I was looking for a low maintenance BB cream and I remembered how simple it was to use this one. It’s a demi matte foundation with great coverage ( I would say it’s more a medium full coverage) The color is spot on my tone. This foundation doesn’t set down , you do need to use a powder to set it , but it leaves the skin looking so succulent, so healthy looking that I don’t mind needing a bit of powder. I remember this was the foundation I chose every time I traveled anywhere. It was the foundation I used on very important days too.
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel: A+++!!!                                                                                                   I gush over this bronzer every time I use it I know… but I can’t help it! This bronzer is that good!! It’s the perfect tone. It’s a cream to powder formula (normally I hate cream products but this one melts into the skin so flawlessly that it’s a joy to use.). This bronzer warms up the face so wonderfully… it’s the only bronzer I’ve ever used that looks like a tan, not like makeup. If you want to spurge on something special for yourself , consider making this your high ticket product., you wont regret it.
BH Cosmetics Ultimate Matte 42 Color Shadow Palette: A++                                                       I love that there is a palette out there that can handle any look you want to do. This palette has all the best of the neutral world and has great pops of color. For a drug store palette these highly pigmented mattes are creamy, finely milled, and blend like a dream. Unlike other palettes, this palette’s mattes can be layered on top of each other without loosing the color payoff of each color… in other words … they don’t muddle together.
Hikari Cream Pigment: A++                                                                                                                 I don’t own many cream products, I hate the way they look on me, but this cream pigment is amazing!!! It’s very creamy but applies like a powder. It’s the perfect shade for a lid or inner corner highlight. There are 21 shades to chose from … ranging from dewy to smokey …. and the price tag isn’t bad for the quality you get with this pigment.
Urban Decay Single Shadow * specifically Midnight Cowboy *: A-                                            If you have been reading my blog for any period of time you know by now I HATE GLITTER. But Midnight Cowboy is such a beautiful color that I just deal with the glitter in it. Urban Decay single shadows come in 63 colors, of which I own two, Midnight Cowboy and Loaded ( a deep emerald I use around Christmas time … some matte, satin, and shimmer (with glitter). A little of this shade goes a long way and it really brightens up any look.
NYX On The Rise Volume Liftscara: D                                                                                               I really hated working with this mascara. It left my eyelashes crunchy and lifeless. I also hate the applicator brush… it’s one of those plastic bristle brushes, I can’t stand the way it applied…  I’ll try to use it up but I more than likely will be throwing this one away.
NYX Born to Glow Highlighting Palette: B-                                                                                        I love the color of these highlighters but once again …. GLITTER!!!! It’s finely milled, not chunky like other highlighters, but again I just don’t like glitter… and this highlighter picks up every imperfection of the cheeks. It’s still pretty in color tone so I’ll use it up but I wont repurchase.
Loreal 6Hr Infallible Never Fail Lip Liner: A+                                                                          This color comes in 8 shades… of which I own 1… Coral. This liner is the perfect consistency… It’s not too waxy not too creamy …. it’s a perfect mix of both. I normally use it to fill in my lips or contour my lips and then I use a gloss over top … It lasts a long time too. I am thinking of picking up a couple of back ups of this shade …. I don’t really like any of the other shades.
NYX Butter Gloss: A+++                                                                                                                  This gloss comes in 32 shades. I own 5. I use to own them all but when I de-cluttered my stash when we were moving I passed them on to my niece. I am going to pick up more shades shortly… It’s the perfect formula… not at all sticky, not at all greasy feeling… it doesn’t travel outside the lip line…. the pigmentation is a medium pigmentation so you still see a little skin underneath so if you want more of a color payoff you will need to cancel out your lips by using a foundation, concealer, or face powder. This is a great little lip gloss.
Well that’s all for now babies … Tomorrow’s and Wednesday’s Face of the Day may be posted on Thursday …. Not sure if I will have the time to post before the Holiday Memorial tomorrow, and I may be out of spoons on Thursday …. but I will try and post them as soon as possible….
Remember … Save a spoon for a bit of makeup ….
XOXO

Hey doll hey!!! How’s your day going? Great I hope. I woke up around 8 AM today and kinda just laid in bed for awhile. I’m feeling a bit better today. Throat is no longer sore and my pain level is around 6. I still have a runny nose and a nasty little cough but for the most part I’m doing pretty good. I called my doctor for my Covid-19 test results and they STILL don’t have them back from the testing center…. this worries me because that means that there are a heap of people with symptoms that have taken the test and this is why the results are taking forever…. that makes me sad for the human race. Well …. let’s jump into today’s scent and Face of the Day …..
Elizabeth Arden Red Door Revealed. I purchased mine from Macy’s for $30 for 3.3 fluid ounces. I have repurchased this scent 2 times and truly ardor this scent. the notes are  orchid, peony,  pear rose, orange blossom, plum, tiare flower, yellow champaca, oakmoss, musk, amber and Guaiac wood. This is a clean crisp scent that’s slightly sweet with a heady floral make up. This perfume is great for either casual or dressy looks and is one of my all time favorite Spring time scents.
Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using Flower Beauty In Your Prime Pore-Minimizing Primer ($10.99 at Ulta) and also Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer ($39 at Ulta) to blur my pores around my cheeks and nose. My foundation today is a combo of 3 pumps BECCA Backlight Priming Filter ($39 at Sephora) and 3 pumps Revolution Beauty Conceal & Hydrate Radiance Foundation ($12 at Ulta and on their website) in the shade F5.7.  I lightly color corrected my under eyes using Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target and on the Pixi Beauty website) in the shade Brightening Peach. I used 3 dots under each eye of Flower Beauty Light Illusion Full Coverage Concealer ($10 on their website) in the shade L3.4 Light. I set my full face using  Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent and warmed up my face using ColourPop Pressed Bronzer ($8 on their website) in the shade Talk to the Palm. For touch up powder today I am using Physicians Formula Natural Defense Setting the Tone Finishing Powder ($14.99 at Target) in the shade Light.
Eyes:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my lids using P.Louise Base ($10 pound sterling/ $12.08 USD on their website… can also be found on the Morphie website for $15) in the shade Rumour 0.5 and today I chose not to set the base. For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop palette I created that I hauled yesterday.  For my transition shade I used the color  Sea Stars (a medium yellow brown matte). For my crease shade I used the color Top Notch (a terracotta brown matte). I then used the shade 20 Something (a peachy gold metallic) all over my mobile lid. To deepen my outer v and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Feathered (a rich chocolate brown matte) from the 1st palette I put together from ColourPop. I created a drop shadow using more of the shade Sea Stars (a medium yellow brown matte) and then used more of the shade Top Notch (a terracotta brown matte) closest to my lower lash line. I then used the shade Liar Lair (a pale pink metallic) to highlight the inner corners of my eyes. I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($8.49 at Ulta) in the shade 05 Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte sides and set the brow line using the shade Hear Me Out (a white peach matte). I lined my lower waterlines using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (a rose gold metallic) and I created a winged liner using Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($21 at Sephora) in the shade Mad Max Brown and popped on a pair Kiss Looks So Natural Lashes ($12 for 5 pairs at Ulta) in the style Flirty and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).
Cheeks and Lips:                                                                                                                                For my blush and highlighter I used the Rimmel London and Kate face palette ($6 on Amazon) in the shade 002 Coral Glow. The blush is a pretty satin coral and the highlight is a standard champagne. I highlighted my Cupid’s Bow, tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of my chin, and high points of the brows. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil ($6 on their website) in the shade Another Round (a rosey nude) and filled in the lips using ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick (shade discontinued) in the shade Uno Mas (a medium coral demi matte).
Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I really enjoyed creating this eye look. the shades blend out so perfectly and there was no fallout, although there was some kickback in the pans. I was super excited that I got my winged liner to match on both eyes. I was really feeling this look today everything came together smoothly with out any problems. I love this lip color …. this may be my new favorite nude lip ever.
My husband’s job informed him that he will have to take a 10% cut in pay to remain working during this whole Corona thing. I am a little worried but feel blessed that at least he still has his job. The only bad part is that he will have to take a furlough for the first part of April which means I have no idea how we will get by for the first 1/2 of April… as I’m sure many others are feeling.
This is such a troubling time in the world…. I just want you all to know that I appreciate you keeping me going by visiting my blog. Good morning dolls. Just 3 more days until Christmas…. I hope today you are doing well. It’s cold and raining here in Florida today so I am in a world of hurt. I slept well but still feel low on spoons today. The above picture was taken outside with no flash.
Today I chose to do another smokey eye look. I’ve been loving a good smokey eye lately. I used 2 different eye shadow palettes, 1 high end and 1 drug store priced. Well let’s get into it.
Inside no flash
The above picture was taken inside with no flash….
BASE: I used It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer ($49 on the It Cosmetics website). I color corrected with the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium. For concealer today I chose NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30 at Ulta) in the color Medium 1 Custard. My foundation is ELF Flawless Finish Foundation ($6 on their website) in the color Sand. I set my whole face with Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder ($45 at Beautylish website) in the color 2 Medium. To warm up my face I chose Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer ($15.99 on their website and at Ulta, Walmart sell sit for $8.99) and  in the color Bronzer.
EYES: I primed my eyes with Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light Medium Honey.  I used 2 palettes today …. BH Cosmetics Ultimate Matte 42 Color Shadow Palette ($28 on their website) and Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette ($42 at Ulta). To set my Shape Tape I chose the first color of the 3rd row of the BH palette (it’s a cream colored matte). I used the same palette and chose the second color of the 4th row (a pale peach matte) as my transition shade. As my second transition shade I chose Burnt Orange (an orange based tan matte) from the Modern Renaissance palette. To deepen my crease I chose the 3rd color of the BH palette (a true mid toned brown matte).I then decided I wanted to cover my lid in this color too.  Then it was back to the Modern Renaissance palette for the lid … I chose Primavera (a golden champagne shimmer) for the first 2/3 of the lid and then I added Vermeer (a pale peachy champagne shimmer) to the middle 1/3 of the lid to make the center pop a bit.  For my lower lash line I used Realgar (a red based terra cotta matte) from the Modern Renaissance palette and I used Brunt Orange as the drop shadow on the lower lash line. I highlighted my inner corners with Vermeer and set my BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website), on the matte side, with the 1st color on the 1st row of the BH palette (a cream toned white matte). I lined my water line with The Balm Mr Write Eyeliner ($13 on their webstie) in the color Seymour Datenights. I did my brows today with the Professional Eyebrow Powder ($10 at Oh La La Brow Bar) in the color Dark Brown and paired it with the ELF Wow Brow ($4 on their website) in the color Dark Brown. I am back to using my Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($5.99 at Target $8.99 at Ulta).
CHEEKS and LIPS: I used the BH Cosmetics Classic Blush 10 Color Blush Palette ($12 on their website) and used a mix of the last 2 shades of the second row …. a rose pink and a deep peachy terra cotta.  I highlighted my cheek bones and cupid’s bow with Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator ($26 on her website) in the color Gilded Honey. I lined my lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 on the Beautylish website) in the color Pillow Talk and filled them in with ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip ($8 on their website) in the color November.
Final Thoughts….
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer: B-                                                                                              I still am trying to use this product up. It’s not a bad primer it just does nothing to really blur my pore. I also don’t like the smell of this primer. I will not be repurchasing it.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer: A+                                                                                          Comes in 30 shades, 10 for light, medium, and deep skin tones. I really enjoy this concealer. It leaves my under eye looking so hydrated. I don’t like it ass a face concealer for non makeup days because it’s too light of a shade but I do enjoy it for my under eye and orbital socket area. It’s long lasting and doesn’t crease of me.
ELF Flawless Finish Foundation: A+++                                                                                             I forgot just how much I love this foundation! It comes in 40 shades with 19 shades for deeper skin tones. It’s billed as a matte foundation, but every time I have used it, this foundation gives me a dewy look.  I use 2 pumps for my full face and neck. It’s a medium coverage foundation that builds up to full coverage very easily. It doesn’t emphasize lines or dry patches. It buffs into the skin so well and leaves the face looking fresh and perfected.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder: B++            OK…. OK…. I know I gave this product a hard time when I first reviewed it, but I tried it today and loved the flawless, almost porcelain look it gave my skin. I still can’t give it a higher grade because there are only 3 shades in the range and the darkest shade called Deep is nowhere deep enough for are darker skinned beauties. However it is a great pressed powder to use with dewier foundations.
BH Cosmetics Ultimate Matte 42 Color Shadow Palette: A+                                                         I am continuing to amazed by BH Cosmetics quality of their products, specifically their matte eyeshadows. Most eyeshadows at this price point are a bit chalky and do not blend without a bit of work… these shadows, not only are pigmented as can be, blend effortlessly. Most of their palettes, including this one, have a great transition to crease ratio and even have enough shades for setting and highlighting. This is a great palette to have in your collection … the only downside is … that it is so big … too big for traveling with.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette: A-                                                            This is a great palette because the colors are so pigmented and the color story goes with all skin tones… but it could do with another transition shade and a medium toned brown… This isn’t the type of palette that you can get many looks from, they will all be about the same intensity, but you can get some beautiful looks with it.
The Balm Mr Write Eyeliner: A                                                                                                          I like the creaminess of this eye pencil but this is the pencil’s down fall…. when using it on the waterline that is…. the pencil is so creamy that you end up having to reapply it throughout the day. The pencil is pigmented and not too light. I find that waterline pencils tend to be too pale and stand out like a sore thumb … this one is just the right shade of flesh for my waterline.
BH Cosmetics Classic Blush 10 Color Blush Palette: A-                                                                   There is a good array of colors in this palette, however, I find that this palette is a bit chalky. It’s nothing too bad and once you buff the blush in a bit it works itself out. The colors are a tad too pigmented so you have to go in with a light hand or suffer the consequences.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator: B-                                                                              I originally said I don’t like this highlighter because it’s too glittery.. but I found a brush that works well with this highlighter… It still have more glitter than I would like, but with the BH Cosmetics Studio Pro V18 brush ($7 on their website) the highlighter goes on less chunky and sits well on the cupids bow… I may not be repurchasing it, but I will definitely be using it more.
ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip: A++                                                                                                           I love how smooth this liquid lipstick goes on, but I hate how sticky it remains until it   sets in place. The color is pigmented and beautiful. This lipstick lasts a while but doesn’t wear down evenly… What I do like it that , unlike some liquid lipsticks, when you reapply product there is no crunchy, clumpiness to the product.  I own 3 colors and totally plan on purchasing more.
Well that’s all for now dolls… until next time, I hope this post reaches you with plenty of spoons (energy) and as pain free as is possible with invisible illnesses…
And remember, save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO

Hey doll hey…. Hope your day is going good. I’m finally able to sit up for longer than 20 minutes. Today I wanted a pop of color but I wanted a smokey eye too… so I decided on a purple smokey eye. Let’s get into the products I used ….
Base: I primed my face with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer ($54 Sephora). Color corrected my undereyes with the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta, Sephore, and Tarte’s website) in the color Light-Medium. I concealed my undereyes and the area around my nose with MAC Pro-Long Wear Concealer ($25 at Ulta and MAC) in the color NC30. I chose Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation ($12.99 at Ulta) in the color Natural Beige. I set my full face with Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Ulta) in the color Translucent.  I bronzed my face with BH Cosmetics Brilliance Bronzer ($10 on their website) in the color Bronze Babe.
Eyes: I primed my eyes with the Tarte Shape Tape ($27 at Ulta) in the color Light-Medium Honey. I set my eyes with Wet N Wild Color Icon ($.99 at Walgreens) in the color Burlee. Today I chose the Urban Decay Born to Run Palette ($49 at Ulta). For my first transition color I chose Weekender (a light tan with peach undertones – matte), as my second transitiion color I chose Riff (an orange based tan – matte). On my lids I used Guilt Trip (a deep plum purple with a pink reflect – metallic). I picked Punk (a deep burgundy brown – matte) for my outer v and outer 1/3 of the lid… I also used this color on my lower lash line followed by Riff as my drop shadow. I highlighted my inner corners with Breakaway (a pale champagne – shimmer). On my brows today I chose my Professional Eyebrow Powder  ($10 from Oh La La Brow Bar) in the color Dark Brown followed by ELF Wow Brow ($4 on their website) in the color Dark Brown. I highlighted my brow bone with BH Pro Studio Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow bone with the Wet n Wild Color Icon ($.99 at Walgreens) in the color  Brulee. I lined my water line with The Balm Mr. Write ($13 on their website) in the color Seymour Datenights. I used Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes ($29 at Sephore and the Beautylish website) in the color Glossy Black.
Cheeks and Lips: My blush today is ColourPop Super Shock Cheek ($8 on their website) in the color Birthday Suit (a pinky coral – satin). I used Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder ($42 at Sephora) in the color Highlight 01. My lip liner is Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat ($22 at the Beautylish website) in the color Pillow Talk. I filled in my lips with BH Cosmetics Cashmere Cream Comfort Lipstick ($6 on their website) in the color Perf.
Final Thoughts ….
MAC Pro-Long Wear Concealer: A++                                                                                            I’ve used this concealer for a few years now on and off. Every time I pick it back up I first think, ugh too thick and too messy…. then I try it another day and remember that too much is disbursed and I finally squeeze just the right amount out and I remember how amazing it looks under the eye. It sets well, doesn’t crease, and doesn’t move the other products around. It doesn’t emphasize my fine lines either so that’s a plus.
Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation: B                                                                                I have had this foundation for a while, but never opened it. It’s billed as a light weight full coverage foundation. It lives up to what they say. But this foundation emphasizes every little imperfection. The color was a little warmer that I thought it would be and it gave me a hard time applying it with a foundation brush. I ended up having to push the product into my face with the brush , wait a minute , and then buff the foundation out. It also stayed very tacky. It’s not a bad foundation, just not one of my favorites.  I’ll use this bottle up, but will not be repurchasing it.
Urban Decay Born to Run Palette: A+++                                                                                        Out of all my Urban Decay palettes Born to Run is my favorite palette. It’s got a great matte to shimmer ratio. It’s got more than 1 option for transition shades, great outer V colors, and a couple of really great pops of color in it. I find that most of the Urban Decay palettes only give you enough color ways to create the same eye look over and over. The Urban Decay Born to Run palette gives you several options. I can get a super natural look or a big and bold look all from the same palette. The shadows are finely milled, buttery, and extremely pigmented. Out of all of their palettes, the shadows in the Born to Run palette blend the best. They blend out easy and blend into each other nicely too.  If you only pick up 1 Urban Decay Palette, and you like surprise pops of colors, I recommend the Urban Decay Born to Run Palette….. If you just like neutral looks the Naked Ultimate Basics is the palette for you  …. but I say live a little and express yourself through color.
ColourPop Super Shock Cheek: B+                                                                                                     I am only giving this blush a B+ because it went on a little patchy …. now this could be because I had to put a ton of loose setting powder on to set my foundation and so because the blush is a cream to powder blush it could have skipped on the setting powder…. It could also be that Birthday Suit has been in my collection for over 3 years … so it could need to be replaced… I remember when I first got this blush I couldn’t put it down… so I know it’s not that the formula is bad …. I have ordered another color which I will show off when I do my full face of ColourPop … until then I give it a B+.
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder: A+++                                                                      This highlighter is the perfect glow with in highlighter… it is subtle, like the Essences one that I am in love with. There is no glitter and it gives a soft retouched effect to the skin. I so love this highlighter.
BH Cosmetics Cashmere Cream Comfort Lipstick: B++                                                                 I know I gave this one a higher grade the first time I reviewed them but this color went on patchy and just kept getting worse as I applied more product. After it dried down it was OK. It was comfortable and even once it dried. However, When I reapplied the product after drinking coffee (yes this one transfers) it felt crumbly and felt like it went on thick in spots… I had to completely remove the product and reapply … that’s too high maintenance for a drug store lip product. Now, it could be that I used the foundation to cancel out my lips before I used this product, it could be that I had to set the foundation with powder to get it to be seamless on the lips, it could even be that I used too much lip liner before applying this product, but I doubt any of that could be the reason. I’ll have to play around with this product a bit more before I decide that I do or don’t like it. For now, I give it a B+.
Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you have a great Saturday and that the day finds you with plenty of spoons and as close to pain free as possible.
And remember always save a spoon for a bit of makeup…
XOXO
