The New York attorney general’s office has filed judgments in Westchester County, the first indication that the state is preparing to try to seize Donald Trump’s golf course and private estate north of Manhattan, known as Seven Springs. State lawyers entered the judgments with the clerk’s office in Westchester County on March 6, just one week after Judge Arthur Engoron made official his $464 million decision against Trump, his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the Trump Organization. Entering a judgment would be the first step a creditor would take to attempt to recover property. Additional steps, such as putting liens on assets or moving to foreclose on properties, or taking other actions in court would follow, if the asset is going to be seized. The judgment is already entered in New York city where Trump’s properties including Trump Tower, his penthouse at Trump Tower, 40 Wall Street, his hotel abutting Central Park, and numerous apartment buildings are located. Judgments have not been entered in Florida counties including Miami or Palm Beach where Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property and the Trump National Doral Golf Club and resort are located or Cook County, Illinois, where Trump’s hotel in Chicago is located, according to a review of records Thursday by CNN. Trump now has four days to satisfy the judgment or sway an appeals court to allow him to post a smaller amount or defer posting the payment until after the appeal.

Trump: Govt Using 'Vicious Lies' in Civil Trial
By Sandy Fitzgerald    |
3–4 minutes
Former President Donald Trump, speaking outside the Manhattan courthouse where his civil fraud trial continues, accused the government, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, of using "vicious lies" about him in connection with the case.
Further, he told reporters that if he were still president, the attacks on Israel and Ukraine would not have happened.
"The attorney general is sitting inside, spending her whole day, day after day, when people are being murdered on the streets and sidewalks of New York, violent crime," Trump said. "No business is going to move into New York. [They] used a statute on me that's never been used, not once has it ever been used for anything like this ... any company coming to New York would be crazy because it's a setup. It's a rigged trial."
The trial against the Trump Organization is in its third week and centers around allegations that the former president and his company inflated the worth of property and assets to secure more favorable bank loan terms.
Judge Arthur Engoron is presiding over the bench trial, and Trump Wednesday complained that he didn't get a jury or "anything. We have no rights whatsoever," and referred to Engoron as "hostile."
"We have all of the evidence on our side," he said. "They have nothing and it's a case that should have never been brought ... this case is a disgrace to our nation, a disgrace to New York and New York state."
The banks were also "very happy," he said, pointing to testimony, and said he'll return to court Thursday as the trial continues rather than attend a golf tournament at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami.
"I was going to go to it, but I find this very interesting," said Trump, who is not required to be at the trial.
He then turned to the attack on Israel, insisting that if was president, "Israel would not have been attacked," but when asked still said that he may go to Israel, though "I believe in letting them do what they have to do. They have to straighten it out."
Trump also insisted that Ukraine also would not have been attacked had he remained in office.
"You take a look at what's going on throughout the world," he said. "The world right now is a mess. It's a mess and it's a very sad day ... what's happened in Israel is all of those people dead. It would never have happened. Not even a chance. Even the Democrats admit that."

“Donald Trump could claim up to $323 million in federal income-tax deductions for promising not to build on one of his golf courses in Florida,” the Wall Street Journal reports. “The move to protect the Blue Monster golf course at Trump National Doral Golf Club might have helped the former president lower the tax bill on the sale of his hotel in Washington in 2022, and it provides a glimpse into the Republican presidential front-runner’s finances since he left the White House in 2021. The transaction on the 184-acre Miami-area property is by far Trump’s largest known use of the conservation-easement tax break, which has previously prompted questions from state officials and the Internal Revenue Service. It is more than 10 times bigger than his similar deals in California and New York.”
Then he should have no trouble paying his $370 million penalty sought by the NY Attorney General's office.

Ivanka Trump was forced Wednesday, during her family’s New York business fraud trial, to explain an email exchange that could undo their entire defense.Donald Trump’s oldest daughter took the stand to testify about the Trump Organization’s business practices. Ivanka Trump was presented with an email conversation she had with one of the company’s lawyers. The lawyer, Jason Greenblatt, was worried about a 2012 deal with Deutsche Bank for the purchase of the Doral golf club in Miami, which required Donald Trump to maintain a minimum net worth of $3 billion. This requirement “would seem to me to be a problem?” he asked Ivanka.Ivanka replied this was something they “have known from day one. We wanted to get a great rate and the only way to get the proceeds/term and principle where we want them is to guarantee the deal.”Another email related to the Doral deal makes clear that her father’s financials were a big part of securing the purchase. “My father will also send you his most recent financial statement by hard mail,” she wrote in an email with the subject line “Doral.”This exchange speaks directly to New York Attorney General Letitia James’s main accusation that Trump and his allies fraudulently inflated the value of their real estate assets to get more favorable terms on bank loans. Greenblatt was concerned that Trump would struggle to prove and maintain a net worth of at least $3 billion. But Ivanka didn’t seem worried. In the Doral deal, Ivanka eventually got the requirement for Trump’s net worth lowered to $2.5 billion, but that’s still far higher than what James estimates Trump’s net worth actually was at the time of the purchase in 2012.Trump himself effectively admitted Monday that the organization’s financial statements were made with an eye to encourage favorable loans. The New York attorney general’s office revealed that Trump had signed financial documents intended to look good for banks. The trial, which is only to set damages, has not been going well for Trump. He has been grasping at straws in an attempt to avoid accountability, using an argument the presiding judge has already deemed “worthless” and incorrectly insisting he was president in 2021.Judge Arthur Engoron already determined in September that Trump committed fraud. Engoron ordered that all Trump’s New York business certificates be canceled, making it nearly impossible to do business in the state and effectively killing the Trump Organization. The lawsuit alleges that Trump claimed his Trump Tower apartment in Manhattan was three times its actual size and worth $327 million. No New York City apartment has ever sold for that much. He also valued Mar-a-Lago at $739 million, about 10 times its actual worth.

Jamaica Open Golf Championship
Tumblr media
When the 56th Jamaica Open Golf Championship is held at picturesque Tryall Club just outside Montego Bay from October 29-31, the tournament will once again shine a spotlight on what makes this island nation such a unique golf destination.Jamaica has a lush topography of mountains, rainforests, and reef-lined beaches and if you are a tourist looking for spectacular golf, a range of other outdoor activities, wonderful weather, and a high-energy night life, then this is the place for you. Many of Jamaica's all-inclusive resorts are centered in or around Montego Bay, with its British-colonial architecture, while nearby Negril is known for its beautiful diving and snorkeling sites. The stunning 18-hole, 6,836-yard layout at Tryall Club, designed in 1958 by the renowned Texan golf course architect Ralph Plummer, has long been regarded as the best course in Jamaica and Ewan Peebles, Director of Golf at Tryall, has his own theory about what makes Jamaica such a special destination for golfers. The stunning 18-hole, 6,836-yard layout at Tryall Club, has long been regarded as the best course in Jamaica "There's an atmosphere, there's a vibe, there's an electricity on this island that I don't think you will find anywhere else in the region, and maybe nowhere else full stop," said Peebles, a Scot who has lived in Jamaica for more than two decades. "There is an energy to being on this island and that is mirrored when you go and play one of our golf courses. The authentic Jamaican hospitality and the smiles and the laughter and the way the Jamaican people find entertainment and find comedy in things that people from other places in the world might not. And it's infectious. "Add that to the fact that we've got four excellent golf courses in and around Montego Bay. You can go and play good golf courses just about anywhere on the planet. So, to say we've got good golf courses ... okay, okay, okay. The whole world can say that. But can the whole world say that you are going to have a real authentic Jamaican experience? There is a good chance you are going to develop a relationship with a caddie that will make a lasting impression on you. Things like a caddie chopping the top off of a coconut and pouring some rum into it, I don't think you get that in Phoenix, Arizona or Doral in Miami." For Peebles, the ultra-friendly service that guests at Tryall will receive from villa staff and caddies is perhaps the number one reason for Jamaica being such an unforgettable golf destination. "Tryall Club generally is renowned for warm Jamaican hospitality," he said. "We don't have a hotel here; we have 91 privately-owned villas, all of which are staffed with extremely warm, friendly customer service-oriented Jamaican people. And out on the golf course it's no different. Caddies are a big part of the golf experience here in Jamaica, and all golf courses have a caddy program. "For a few golfers who are not used to playing with caddies, initially that can be a little intimidating and a little daunting, but 99.9 percent of the time, by the time our caddies have got them to the first green or the second tee box, any apprehension and any unease has completely evaporated and our caddies are a big part of why our repeat business is as high as it is. A lot of people look forward to coming back to Tryall. They might like the villa but generally it's the villa staff who make the difference. And similarly, they might love the golf course, but they really love hanging out with that same caddie again. It's just a very warm authentic Jamaican experience." Tryall Club combines the island's hilly terrain with other natural elements for a unique golfing experience. The course has a storied history having hosted numerous international tournaments, including the Johnnie Walker World Golf Championship between 1991-1995. In 2005, Tryall Club was voted the Best Golf Course in the Caribbean-by-Caribbean World Magazine. Just a few kilometers east of Montego Bay are three more top-quality golf courses: White Witch, Cinnamon Hill, and Half Moon. Opened in 2000, the White Witch course was crafted on 600 acres of lush countryside, including mountainous terrain. Golfers are afforded panoramic views of the Caribbean Ocean from 16 holes and are best advised to be on guard against shifting winds. Cinnamon Hill, revamped by designer Robert von Hagge, features a front nine that makes its way close to a windblown beach while the back nine, which is overlooked by the massive Rose Hall plantation house, snakes up into the mountains. Half Moon, which like Tryall has also hosted the Jamaica Open, is a Robert Trent Jones Sr. design known for its challenging green complexes and a daunting set of bunkers. The 18-hole course is located at the Half Moon Resort, which was named by Today’s Golfer as one of the Best Golf Resorts in the World in 2021. "With those four courses, Montego Bay is the golfing capital of Jamaica," said Peebles. "There are a couple of other good golf courses elsewhere on the island but, in terms of a golf vacation, if you are flying to Jamaica specifically to come and play golf, you would come to Montego Bay because that's where the highest number of courses are and that's where the best courses are." Jodi Munn-Barrow, President of the Jamaica Golf Association, has been playing golf since the age of 14 and she believes the preponderance of all-inclusive hotels with direct links to golf courses on the island is another bonus for tourists in Jamaica. "Most of the hotels on the North Coast are all-inclusive hotels - you pay just one fee, and everything is taken care of," said Munn-Barrow. "So, you wake up in the morning, you have your Blue Mountain coffee and sit on the balcony, you enjoy the view, you go down to the breakfast room and you have your buffet breakfast, which is huge. You can deposit your wife - if she doesn't play golf - at the pool or the beach or the spa, and you and your buddies can then head over to the golf course for your tee time. You enjoy your four hours of golf, your Red Stripe beer, for those who are beer drinkers, because we do have one of the best beers in the world, and we also have the best rum in the world in Appleton. "When you are finished, the shuttle will take you back to the hotel, you can meet your wife, whether she is at the beach or the pool, or pick her up from the spa, have a nice relaxing afternoon and then you head to dinner. And all of that is paid for with just one fee." Asked if there were any other activities away from the golf course that she would especially recommend to tourists on the island, Munn-Barrow replied: "Well, we have rafting on the Martha Brae River in Trelawny, and I would definitely recommend that. We also have waterfalls, so I would suggest going to either Dunn's River or YS Falls, which is on the Negril side. If you go up into the hills, we have eco-tourism so you can go birdwatching, etc. And if you are in Montego Bay, I would recommend doing our Rose Hall Great House night tour, which is a little bit scary because it is supposedly a haunted house, but it's also worth doing." Aqua Bay Resort returns as presenting sponsor of the Jamaica Open Golf Championship for the fourth consecutive year. The tournament serves to showcase its vast potential and the beauty of Jamaica and is also sponsored by the Jamaica Tourist Board and the Tourism Enhancement Fund, Digicel Business, and the Grand Palladium Hotel. Several other clubs have hosted the Jamaica Open Golf Championship since its inception in 1953. These include the Constant Spring Golf Club in Kingston (Jamaica's capital), Caymanas Golf Club in the parish of St. Catherine, and Half Moon Golf Course in Montego Bay at the western end of the island. ....."Saudi Arabia
From December 2016 through February of 2017, Saudi government lobbyists reserved blocks of rooms at Trump’s D.C. hotel, “paying for an estimated 500 nights at the luxury hotel in just three months,” and spending at least $270,000 at the property in total. Trump continued to benefit from Saudi business in office. When the Saudi Crown Prince visited New York in 2018, several members of his entourage stayed at the Trump International Hotel in Manhattan. Earnings from the room rentals caused revenue to spike 13 percent, putting the hotel “back in the black” after two years of decline. Weeks before the murder of Washington Post contributing columnist Jamal Khashoggi by agents of the Saudi government, Trump’s business partner in Indonesia signed an agreement for a Saudi-backed company to work on a development with Trump-branded elements. Asked about the deal, “an official with the Saudi-tied firm also said they expect to be involved in the development of a different Trump-branded project in the future.” Trump returned the favor, shielding Saudi leaders from criticism after Khashoggi’s murder and going so far as to allege Khashoggi was tied to terrorist groups.
Qatar
After several Middle Eastern countries cut diplomatic ties with Qatar for allegedly backing terrorists, Qatar spent hundreds of thousands on lobbying to put itself back into Trump and the U.S.’s good graces. They purchased a $6.5 million condo in Trump World Tower, and started renting space in the “most valuable asset” in Trump’s portfolio, a San Francisco building he co-owns, directing $125,000 per year in rent to the president. After Qatar finished renovations in February 2018, the office sat completely vacant. In April 2018 he welcomed the Emir of Qatar to the Oval Office and praised the country for fighting against extremism.
United Arab Emirates
Trump raked in money from the United Arab Emirates through his Dubai golf course amid concerns about corruption and human rights abuses in the country. Before taking office, Trump was paid as much as $10 million in royalties from the golf course and other projects in Dubai. On top of that, the U.A.E. spent up to $10 thousand per night for rooms at Trump’s D.C. hotel from late 2017 to mid 2018. Trump acted favorably to the U.A.E. in many ways during this time, from his administration’s “maximum pressure” agenda against U.A.E. adversary Iran to supporting a $23 billion arms deal with Abu Dhabi in 2020.
Turkey
In 2017 and 2019 groups with ties to the Turkish government held four events at Trump properties and Turkish officials made 15 visits to the Trump Hotel in D.C., where they spent up to $10,000 per night on rooms. Around the same time, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pressured Trump to shut down an investigation into sanctions violations by a state-owned Turkish bank. DOJ officials attempted to quash the investigation on the orders of Trump, though it ultimately proceeded.
Kuwait
The Embassy of Kuwait hosted three independence day parties at the D.C. hotel. In turn, Trump bestowed a “top U.S. honor” to Kuwait’s ruling emir.
Trump has been anything but shy about how much he appreciates the business. As Trump bragged about his ties with the Saudis, “They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million… Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much.” That’s held true after Trump’s presidency: During a Saudi-backed LIV golf league tournament last year at Trump’s Doral golf club in Miami, Trump said of LIV, “It’s big time and it’s big-time money. It’s unlimited money. They love golf and the Saudis have done a fantastic job.” LIV golf recently announced its $50 million championship would move from Jeddah to Trump’s Doral golf club in Miami.
The $9.6 million that we know Trump made from Middle Eastern countries during his presidency is likely just the tip of the iceberg. CREW tracked conflicts of interest involving multiple countries that are not even present on his tax returns. For example, officials from Iraq, Oman and Yemen made visits to Trump properties while he was president. Because we don’t know the total cost for these visits, we did not include them in the tally.
What we do know is that becoming president was Trump’s best business decision, and his tax returns show how great the office was for his bottom line. As the 2024 election creeps closer, foreign interests including those in the Middle East are already buying access to Trump and pouring money into his pockets."

Trump Employee Warned of Charges in Classified Documents Case
Tumblr media
A low-level employee of the Trump Organization has received a target letter from the special counsel Jack Smith in connection with the investigation into former President Donald J. Trump’s handling of classified documents, suggesting that the employee could face charges and confirming that the broader inquiry continues, according to a person familiar with the matter. The employee, whom the person declined to name, received the letter in the past few weeks after appearing in May before a federal grand jury in Washington. Prosecutors have been trying to establish whether any of Mr. Trump’s aides or employees interfered with the government’s attempts to obtain security camera footage from Mar-a-Lago, the former president’s private club and residence in Florida.Footage from the cameras at Mar-a-Lago has been at the center of the case against Mr. Trump and was an instrumental part of the evidence used to obtain a warrant to search Mar-a-Lago last August. During that search, the F.B.I. hauled away a trove of more than 100 classified documents that Mr. Trump had taken with him from the White House and kept even after receiving a subpoena demanding their return. The surveillance footage was also key to the indictment that Mr. Smith’s office brought last month against Mr. Trump and his personal aide, Walt Nauta, in the Southern District of Florida. The indictment charges both men with conspiring to obstruct the government’s efforts to reclaim dozens of highly classified documents and Mr. Trump alone of illegally holding onto the documents after he left office.Prosecutors use target letters to inform subjects of criminal investigations that they could be charged with crimes. Though it remains unclear what charges the Trump Organization employee could be facing, the special counsel’s office has been scrutinizing whether the employee’s grand jury testimony was truthful, the person familiar with the matter said. The target letter sent to the employee was reported earlier by ABC News.A lawyer for the employee, Stanley Woodward Jr., declined to comment on the letter. As part of their continuing investigation, prosecutors have questioned additional witnesses and sought more surveillance camera footage, according to a person familiar with the matter. Prosecutors have also asked questions about boxes of documents being moved not only at Mar-a-Lago but also at other Trump-owned properties in Florida, including the Trump National Doral Golf Club near Miami and the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, another person familiar with the matter said. The New York Times recently reported that despite the charges filed against Mr. Trump and Mr. Nauta, the grand jury in Miami that returned the indictments was still issuing new subpoenas for documents, indicating the investigation was active. In a court filing on Thursday, Mr. Smith’s office confirmed that prosecutors had interviewed witnesses as recently as June 23 — a few weeks after Mr. Trump and Mr. Nauta were charged.Prosecutors have charged that Mr. Trump played what amounted to a shell game with dozens of boxes of presidential records and classified material that had been kept in a basement storage area after initially being placed in various areas around Mar-a-Lago, including a ballroom and a bathroom. The indictment charges that after a grand jury subpoena had been issued in May 2022 seeking the return of all classified materials in Mr. Trump’s possession, Mr. Nauta moved boxes in and out of the storage area on several occasions at Mr. Trump’s request, and that the number of boxes moved out was vastly greater than the number returned. The case against Mr. Trump and Mr. Nauta is moving forward in court even as the investigation continues. The judge overseeing it, Aileen M. Cannon, will soon make a decision about when to schedule the trial — a question that could have important legal and political consequences.Mr. Trump’s lawyers asked Judge Cannon this week to postpone the trial indefinitely, a move that could serve to push it until after the 2024 election. If that were to happen and Mr. Trump were to win the race, he could try to pardon himself after taking office or have his attorney general dismiss the case.Prosecutors working for Mr. Smith responded on Thursday to the request for a delay, telling Judge Cannon there was “no basis in law or fact for proceeding in such an indeterminate and open-ended fashion.” Source link Read the full article
