Happy Tuesday all. Yay for writers strike being over. Now we just need to get the actors a good deal as and we'll get our couple back hopefully soon enough. Or have some kind of premiere on the horizon. Till then let's continue on with our rewatch. :) Getting to the crux is this whole Stanton SL. Their moments get better as we approach the climax of this whole ordeal. We don't have a ton of content but its pretty solid what we do get. Off we go.
3x05 Lockdown
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We start out with our couple already in process of booking someone. Lucy is telling Tim that Stanton gave Jackson a blue page with leaving the drugs behind. She see's the guilt wash over him. She immediately stops Tim from blaming himself. Says it’s not his fault. Tim is riddled with guilt regardless and says it is. It was his fault because it was his idea to reach out to Doug's old rookie.
Then Tim sees Stanton enter the building and goes into aggressive protector mode. I’m here for it. If looks could kill oooh boy. That look in his eye is like a fight on sight clause. *fans self* Nothing love more than protective/aggro Tim. Lucy spots where his eyes are going. Quickly tries to deescalate Tim from knocking Stanton out cold immediately. Saying they don’t want to make things even worse for Jackson. Tim doesn’t hold back in the slightest when he comes up to Stanton. Asking if he wants to brush up on any arrest control techniques. Get em Tim. (Tim would've totally owned his ass if they had)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First off I love Lucy trying to ground Tim by touching him. Bringing him back to earth by saying hey we’re on duty… let's go. Doing what she does best by de-escalating him in the moment. He is ready to throw down with this putz. He doesn't care the consequences at this point. Lucy is very aware of this and is trying to head it off as quickly as possible. Doesn't want to risk Tim in the war they are waging against Stanton. She is doing her damndest to protect him from himself in this moment. Then Doug makes his next mistake... Trying to incite Tim by using Lucy and saying very inappropriate things about her.
Tumblr media
Tim doesn’t have to step in because Lucy is gonna stand up for her damn self. Goes toe to toe with Stanton. Just like Tim does. Suddenly it's not just Tim. It's Lucy ready to take him down as well. Tells Doug he’s the one who is going to need rescuing. Whew lord This is getting good. Pass me the popcorn. Stanton is messing with the wrong couple. Separate they'll kick his ass. Together? Utter desolation. Fool of a man to try and take them on. Had no idea the hornets nest he just kicked.
Tumblr media
Lucy telling Stanton she has a great hair pull takedown she’s been dying to try. LMAO Amazing. Don't mess someone they care about. Tim then becomes the one to ground her with his touch. Having them walk away before either of them do something they’ll regret. The fact that both of them wanna kick his ass in this moment is *chef kiss*. Best part is their natural instinct to protect one another.
Could care less about themselves but always instinctively shield the other. God I love them. Let's talk about how casual and natural they are about the touching to calm each other. Especially in front of others. My heart. Friggin love how they both wanna take Stanton down but also want to protect the other. Lucy calmed Tim down and then when Doug went after Tim through Lucy he had to be the one to calm her down. What a pair these two.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim can't help but give her crap about going after Stanton after she made him stand down. Lucy cracks me up with her testosterone line. How she got a contact high off of it LOL It was that and she was protecting both of the men in her life. The most important relationships to her. He threatened both in one moment and she was not going to have it. Ugh so good. Great opening scene for them hot damn. I will take this kind of content all day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They follow up with a hilarious scene with the girl they booked. She’s asking for the bagels she stole back. The balls on this chick my god. Tim tells her they’ve been disposed of. She goes on saying how bad that is for the environment. His eye roll and his head tilting back LMFAO. I love this man so much your honor. He's in no mood to deal with this person. Lucy steps in and offers some logic to her ‘whole ethos’ Adore her stepping in and trying to run interference for Tim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re both so over this girl by the end of their interaction I’m dying. They have much bigger problems today than her. She continues her obnoxious annoyance and says she doesn’t believe in money. But wants them to call her a cab. Sassy Tim arrives on the scene and he is most welcome. I’m laughing so hard at his reply. He is beyond done with this girl and her BS. Forever love how sassy he is now. Thank you Lucy haha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy turns around and asks Nolan how his exam was. He says he passed but doesn’t seem psyched about it. Lucy notes this and Nolan says Grey just confirmed he’ll never make detective. Tim does this deep chuckle that does things to my insides and says ‘You mean you still thought you had a shot?’ LMFAO He’s so mean to Nolan and I love it sfm. Legit brings me joy how constantly underwhelmed he is by John.
His body language the whole scene has me rolling. Legit tickled pink Nolan with his letter of reprimand thought he still had a shot at detective LOL It’s the giant laugh that proceeds his line that kills me the most. Tim can't believe John could actually think he still had a legit shot at it after what he did. He’s such a jerk to Nolan and it makes me happy. I’m a bad person I know haha
Tumblr media
They get pulled away by their freegan. She goes and gets herself arrested again by breaking into a car in their parking lot. John follows them out and quickly gets pulled away by a man in a van while they arrest her again. Nolan of course gets caught in a bomb threat outside the station. Leaving Tim and Lucy stuck there until the threat is neutralized. Hence the name of the ep. They're locked down till this mess is resolved.
They bring everyone in the lobby and in holding down to the parking garage. I love the chat they have about it. Lucy is voicing her concerns and anxiety for Jackson. Tim is instantly the calm presence she needs. He knows she is stressed because now they can’t be Jackson’s backup. Advises her the best he can till they are out of this current mess. The more they focus on the task at hand faster they're back out there to help him. I just can’t get over them being this united front to protect Jackson best they can. Makes my heart happy.
Tumblr media
Once they're out of the garage Tim and Lucy do some digging on Graham their bomber. They find out he has a GF Kelsey Adams. She set up a page to fund his medical bills. Yet they haven't asked for money. Another thing is she’s going under an assumed name and they have no pictures of her. She wasn’t home when Lopez tracked her address down. All their leads aren’t going anywhere. It’s not about money or about the convict this man pretended to want release at first. So feels like they're back to square one. All they know is Kelsey must be involved in this circus. That they're close enough for her to have a hand in this with Graham. The issue is figuring why they're both doing this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy then has an epiphany and says what if it’s meant to distract them? Since this isn't about money or releasing someone. That the real reason is to pull their focus outside the station. When it should it really be focused inside. Harper then asks what kind of crazy person would be inside while her BF threatens that same building with explosives? I love this beautiful look between them. Their silent communication at its finest right here. All she has to do is look at Tim and they have the same thought. Their Freegan who got herself arrested twice in one hour is crazy enough.
Tumblr media
They go to confront Freegan Freida and I love their dynamic. How confident they are and the back and forth they display. Trying to get her to break. Tag teaming it. Explaining how they caught her and her reasons why. Until they realize she’s not Kelsey Adams…. It was real good till then guys haha The real Kelsey takes off and breaks the keypad trapping them down there.
Harper is able to catch Kelsey in the evidence room and figure out why she’s there. They’re trying to get her fingerprints before they’re scanned into the system. Her ex-husband was abusive and has cops on his payroll. Why she was under an assumed name. Harper also finds out the bomb is a fake. Only needed them to think it was real to buy time. Also get him arrested so his medical care could be paid for in prison. With this mess resolved Tim and Lucy are finally able to return to their shift.
Lucy tells Tim about a text she receives from Jackson. Saying everything came to a head with Doug. That Jackson pulled his dad running IA card. That Jackson thinks he'll back off now. Hearing this sets Tim on edge. He wants to go find Jackson ASAP. He’s worried about what Doug is going to do since Jackson pulled his dad card. Say's he's not the type of guy you can back into corner and not react. Tim is afraid of what he’s going to do now that he is. Has them leave the station immediately to find him.
Tumblr media
Tim and Lucy hear a call come over the radio. It’s the exact situation Tim was worried about. He’s having him and Jackson go into an area where they should have serious backup. Doing a ‘premise check’ solo. Doug is up to something and it’s not good. Sounds like he’s leading Jackson into the lions den. Which is exactly what happens. They split up and Jackson gets jumped. He is overwhelmed by 4 guys. Makes a call over the radio and Stanton says he’s coming to help then leaves him there be beaten to death.
Tumblr media
Tim and Lucy show up on scene and run into Stanton and he “claims” to have lost Jackson. They quickly find Jackson and rush over to him. Tim calling in ambulance and RA. Beautiful thing about this moment is Jackson grabbing for his body cam. The cam footage that ends up condemning Stanton.
Watching Tim march over with Grey to suspend him. Phew lord Tim telling him 'Give me a reason'. Yum. Stanton gets the ending he so richly deserved. That ends quite an intense episode. Loved the United Front that is them in this episode. The way he fiercely protects Jackson the entire episode while keeping Lucy calm. So damn good. Not a ton like I said but enough goodies to enjoy especially the beginning.
~~~~~
Side notes none really this episode was truly intertwined. Glad to see Stanton finally get what’s coming to him. Awful that took Jackson nearly dying to get it done but glad he was finally removed.
As always thank you to everyone who supports these reviews. Been so fun for me to Analyze and share with you all. All the likes/comments and reblogs mean a lot ❤️ see you all in 3x06
I have rewatched the mean lesbians episode in hopes I would like them more the second time, but I'm afraid I'm still not vibing with it. Credit that they tried to undercut the "lesbians who drop in to give our main couple therapy" with the whole reveal it was game and Mary's little rant about their relationship "losing the magic", but like... did they really? Do Anne and Mary not successfully tee up the really touching BlackBonnet airing of grievances and reconciliation? Laughing at them a bit for being dorky doesn't change that they really didn't do much sabotaging, overall, so it's not like they weren't pushing them back together.
I mean, even Mary's whole rant happens after Anne leaves the room. By the time they really start telling us how this couple has their own foundation cracks and issues (vs the veneer of just keeping it interesting) and aren't a longstanding example of a healthy relationship, Anne is literally offscreen making a grand romantic gesture that will solve Mary's discontent. I know they are fitting a miscommunication arc into half an episode instead of 2-3 seasons, but the end result just feels like speedrunning a knock off of BlackBonnet's issues.
And that along with the fact they function as BlackBonnet mirrors first and characters second, it all just feels very... underwhelming (?) to me.
Like why do I care about Anne and Mary? Is the face stealing gimmick supposed to have hooked me? They also, imo, really fucked up by ending on a hug - it just spotlights the fact that, for all the sex jokes, they don't really bother to sell physical intimacy between the two. They maybe bump shoulders at the shop, sit in separate chairs in every scene in the house... honestly the best they do is the offscreen knife flicking. Which funny metaphor but like. Why can't the lesbians be into each other without the metaphor? Or am I supposed to think that Anne "burn the whole house down the second her wife admits she doesn't like swamp life" Bonny didn't pick up that Mary was maybe unhappy when they entirely stopped touching each other and replaced it with murder attempts.
Even a repeat of the offscreen joke but this time imply they are hardcore making out as Stede and Edward slip away would have probably hit better? (I'm assuming for some reason kissing was off the table, otherwise even more wtf why not just kiss?)
(Can you tell I've been thinking about the sorry state of femslash?)
Also I'd be remiss not to tie my dissatisfaction with Anne and Mary to my dissatisfaction with OFMD's prevailing approach to female characters. Spanish Jackie's entire thing is being so awesome and desirable that she has 20 husbands that all work for her, which is super fun. Mary Bonnet became a widowed girlboss with a Doug, which was also fun. Then suddenly we're meeting Zheng Yi Sao who is a girlboss Pirate Queen better than any man, and her right-hand woman that seems like a more stable and competent Edward/Izzy parallel, and her crew of only hyper-competent women... do you see how this is getting a bit repetitive?
Now we add Anne and Mary speedrunning BlackBonnet parallels to teach them a grand gesture romantic lesson? So... doing Stede and Edward but Better™?
Zheng Yi Sao still has time to get more interiority that could offset the whole "girlboss" gimmick which would help, but until that happens the only real female character standout to me is Archie - a woman who has something deeply wrong with her but has so far just kind of slotted in as a equal crewmember instead of the Competent Woman Character.
Saw something about a crack AU where Doug takes over the DD realms and screws everyone over. You think you could dive a little deeper into that idea? It seems very interesting to me! (I'm slightly scared bc no anon but I've been meaning to ask you thangs-)
Oh yeah this one ! Haha that was mostly a joke, but there's no arm in extrapolating a bit.
Tumblr media
Long story short after Bierce gets the complete ring and proceed to go mad with power, she's too absorbed to notice that Doug is currently screwing her over (he already secured his wish or he gave her a fake ring or smthg) and Malak is too busy dealing with Bierce to stop him.
So he makes his wish with the ring and manages to slingshot Tammy and Elise back to life (and in his hospital room), but by doing so the ring's power flows through him and he basically absorbs the ring's power, which a) makes the ring now useless and b) makes him the bearer of Malak's might, so now he's as powerful as him and better even, if they kill him Malak might lose all his power -since Doug has absorbed the souls and if he dies, they die too, this time not to leave anything. (I know that's a stretch but whatevs.)
Moreover, the souls trapped in the ring see there an opportunity to get revenge on their tormentors and side with him, giving him tips on how Malak does what he does. Like a speedrun tutorial and personal advice council.
Upon realising what happened, the monsters and Malak (and Bierce but let's consider she's dead by then) pretty much lose it and chaos ensues, everyone either wants to call it quits, brutally murder him or thread carefully, and it gives Doug some room to figure how to restrain them.
And once Doug is done doing that and be relatively safe, it is now up to him to do whatever he wants with them following either his might or the past victims's scornful requests ; be it trapping Malak in an item forever or dissolving him, giving the mascots a braaand new program/makeover, changing the twisted bear family into actual plushies, or pretty much whatever the hell he pleases ;
with or without the additional unforeseen side effects from either the spiteful monsters who would gladly kill him at the slightest drop of magic restraint ; or from the other demons, who of course notice the change, and who make a pleasure out of starting business with the peculiar overpowered mortal, or to force a deal out of Malak against helping him regain control over his realm...
Basically it's a very awkward scenario and Doug is first pretty hesitant but then eventually goes "Screw it" and mad with power. It can't possibly go well, in any form or manner.
-----
Aaand that's globally the pitch. I'm personally not planning to do anything with it, but if you want to have fun with this concept, be my guest ! :D
It's not the AUs that lack~ 🤗🤗🤗
(TW Warnings; attempted suicide, implied depression, blood, violence, mild body gore, and implied dying. Viewer Discretion is Advised) It's been over an hour since Elliot's 432 made the final message and a few days since Elliot and Victor died. Kiel is just sitting in a chair that wouldn't look out of place in Neon Genesis Evangelion while Kokichi is getting more or less annoyed that Kiel hasn't gone over it. Sure, grief takes time to process, but this... This is just unnecessary.
"Kiel, I'm aware you're not doing well over what happened recently with Victor, Elliot, and their 432, but you can't just sit in a chair in the same way Shinji did."
Kiel didn't respond. Kokichi just groans over the fact that Elliot's death made Kiel unresponsive. He knows there are ways to make him feel better even if it's not instant. It's just that no matter how hard he tries to get Kiel out of his room in the mirror world office, he's just sitting there...too sad to even move.
He tried everything...well, almost everything. This is something he would rather not do, especially if he promise himself that he would never do that to anyone unless if it was needed. Kokichi then switch into his corrupted form and walk to Kiel and looks at him. Kiel then looks at him, who pretty much feels uncomfortable about doing this.
Now, if Forte was here at this moment, she would beat Kokichi's ass right about now. Alas, Kiel nor Doug hasn't found her and Arthur yet, so there's no point in worrying about that. Kokichi then put his hands onto Kiel's chest and said, "C̴o̷r̸r̸u̶p̴t̴u̵s̴."
This is what Kokichi's plan is. He would put his hand onto Kiel's chest and he would flinch, knowing that he'll died and he would be dead as people who died in the mirror world office would not be able to respawn. But, even if Kiel knew that would kill him, he didn't move nor flinch. He no longer wanted to live anymore.
However, while Kokichi didn't know why Kiel hasn't flinch yet, he decided to put his corruption to a minimum since he doesn't want to kill him. Besides, he has done that in the past before the mirror world killed Stanley, so he's not letting that happen again. After all, Kiel is experiencing bad pain that is similar to dealing with second degree burns regardless how mild Kokichi does with corrupting.
As Kokichi kept corrupting Kiel, the cracks begin to formed on Kiel's body with the cracks spewing blood and his eyes slowly turn back, which causes Kokichi to stop corrupting him as he realize that Kiel is wiling to have Kokichi to kill him. However, the moment he stopped corrupting Kiel, he just falls onto the floor. "Kiel? Kiel! Wake up, please! Please wake up! I...I don't want to think I killed you!"
Kokichi is panicking, over the fact that he probably killed him. At this rate, Kiel might died if he left him in that state, especially the cracks that was spewing blood. He look for some bandages to prevent blood loss and wrap around his necks since that's where the cracks begin at. He then puts Kiel onto the bed because seeing him laying on the floor sounds bad.
After he did that, he immediately leaves and find someone to help him as long as it's not the narrator or anyone else that knows him better. Little did he know, Kiel is actually alive; it's just that he's one of the corrupted employees now.
It's been a bit but 911 S3 E10, Christmas is back:
- okay Xmas episode is when Doug showed up so I'm very 👀 at the whole ep
- hot take, I think Buck who has been shown to both value Christmas (sent cards to his sister he hadn't heard from in years and bought her a bunch of stuff and a tree to decorate her new apartment) and be good with kids (mainly Christopher but I feel like there's been other moments) wouldn't just say "this Santa Claus isn't real to some kids.
- when does Michael get to be happy? I just want him to have a loving partner too 🥺 I know he started this whole separation but it's obviously been rough on him too
- LITERALLY having the next scene with Buck being one that shows him being good with kids, seriously think that opener was dumb
- CHRISTOPHER ASKING TO SPEND CHRISTMAS WITH BUCK 🥺🥺🥺
- once again fucking in LOVE with the wardrobe they give Hen
- SKSJSKSKSJ getting Doug's life insurance in this episode was a Perfect parallel!
- how tf did this guy think he was gonna bring his golf clubs as a carry on
- love this extremely convoluted series of what ifs
- HE GOT SUCKED INTO THE TURBINE WTF
- okay I googled it and an out of control cart on an airport runway did happen in 2019, with much less injury. It also wasn't a luggage cart.
- cap telling Buck and Eddie to just grab everything cracked me up like this really isn't that much more wild than other things they've dealt with imo
- can't wait for everyone to talk about an Xmas miracle
- SKSJSKSKSJ the golf clubs started the drama And stopped it at bloodshed, I respect the flex
- Buck playing WebMD and also the brother of a nurse is So Fun!! Especially after Bobby gave him so much shit about his health 😎
- Buck voting for a traditional turkey dinner, he literally Loves Christmas, it's amazing
- BUCK TELLING BOBBY HOW IMPORTANT HE IS TO HIM 🥺🥺🥺 THATS HIS DAD!!!!
- I may not know anything about therapy but imo going back to where you killed someone in self defense and desperation doesn't sounds uhhh helpful???
- hey uh Michael sir why are you back in Athena's bed and second are you inebriated
- this is amazing, they've created an Extremely awkward morning after with 0 sex!
- BOBBY CRANKING THIS MOOD FROM AWKWARD TO STRAINED BY BRINGING EVEN A POTENTIAL FOR SEX INTO THE EQUATION
- literally even before this episode I just wanted Michael to get something to make him happy, I'm going to be So Sad if they kill him
- good thing she just got that money from her marital assets, she'll be able to afford to compensate this guy for driving miles in California lmaooooo
- I wonder if we'll ever get a follow up with that woman Maddie tried to rescue
- I don't like how this mom is grabbing her torso and tit areas, cardiac event coming for sure
- okay if I had to estimate this kids age, I'd think something upwards of 12, lower than 16. But sure, 10.
- gotta be honest I'm just so sure they won't kill this mom that I'm not even feeling tension? Yeah and she's okay
- is this seriously a Xmas song specifically about coming home to California, damn wtf
- lol that kid is 100% getting invited to whatever shindig Christopher and Denny end up at Xmas day
- hey uhhhh Michael buddy you're Not Well 👀 once again asking the show not to kill him
- okay he just busted a target door that's fine
- Michael and Athena be like "that is my spouse when convenient" SKSJSKSKSJ glad it's mutual!!
- aaaaaand yeah Hen and Karen are definitely going to find that kid for Christmas, especially since they bought Denny too many gifts lolllll
- you know they never show Denny's biological dad who wanted to be part of his life. It'd be fun if he got with Michael 😆
- glad Bobby doesn't have cancer!
- hm that's. That's a lot of benzocaine.
- this is reminding of that scene from Big Fat Liar. Also how did benzocaine turn her blue???
- I love this Smurf girl 🤣🤣
- at least she got to have a heart event in front of a medical crew!
- BUCK CALLED ATHENA ABOUT CHRISTMAS DINNER, I LOVE HIM, AND ALSO HES DEFINITELY HER FAVORITE
- omg wait did Buck organize this Christmas party behind everyone else's backs?? That's ADORABLE 🥺
- CALLED IT!!! Didn't expect Karen to bring the whole group home but that's fucking adorable I love it
- omg are they gonna start fostering?? That's so cool!!! I love this as an alternative to having a baby cause like. I'm a lesbian. And that's what I want 😊
- the kids mom is here!!!!!! How does she know Chim saved her tho 😅
- Buck Is Athena's Favorite!!
- please please please I just want Michael to have good things. I'm. I'm so worried he's gonna go commit suicide. This seems like the fatalist happiness.
- FUCKING MICHAEL HAS CANCER???? HOW WHAT HOW
- every time Michael confides in Bobby before his theoretically closer family, I crack up, I do that too. Tell the person who has the entire capacity to understand what I say but not fuck everything up somehow
- also IF THEY KILL MICHAEL AAAAAAA
