Full Name: Laedra Shenkas

Alias(es): Osprey (nickname she got from her uncle’s crew as a small child, to fit the family’s bird theme and for her skill at fishing, goes by it basically 95% of the time nowadays), L. Osprey Shenkas (how she typically introduces herself)

Gender: Female

Age: 25

Birthdate: 5th of Alturiak (following the DND forgotten realms calander, equivalent to February 5th)

Place of birth: Marelis, a small island port town

Hometown: She spent the first 5 years of her life in Marlis, living with her mother at her inn and running around town with her siblings. However, her mother struggled with managing the inn and taking care of her three young children and so got her younger brother, the children’s uncle, to take care of them. From then on Osprey and her siblings grew up on her uncle’s ship, sailing along the coast, though from time to time they would go back to visit her mother in Marelis.

Spoken language(s): Common, Elvish, Dwarven, and Abyssal. She mostly learnt Elven and Dwarven from sailors and so picked up the sailor’s dialect and accent. She gained the ability to understand and speak Abyssal after an encounter with a mysterious demon, which is also how she gained the ability to use magic.

Sexual orientation: Lesbian

Occupation: Sellsword/mercenary/sailor for hire. Formerly a member of a pirate crew until she got kicked off the ship.

Appearance

Eye color: Brown

Hair color: Dark brown

Height: 5′8″, but usually wears 2 inch heels

Scars: Arc across her face from a naval battle when she was 17, plus a slash on her left thigh from a similar battle. Her right hand and forearm are partially atrophied, claw like, and appear purple and leathery from a encounter with a demon when she was 8.

Favorite

Color: Light purple

Hair color: She likes her natural hair colour, so dark brown. On other people she doesn’t care lol

Song: Sea shanties and tavern drinking songs

Food: Fried fish as well as most street market food

Drink: Strong coffee. She doesn’t drink alcohol except for weak ale (to avoid getting sick from waterborne illnesses, also way easier to get a hold of as a sailor)

Passed university: No, she’s never had any formal schooling

Had sex: Yes

Had sex in public: On a beach lol so technically yes

Gotten pregnant: No

Kissed a boy: No

Kissed a girl: Yes

Gotten tattoos: No

Gotten piercings: Yes, she has two cartilage piercings (rings) on her left ear

Been in love: Yes. Osprey tends to fall for people quickly, though she hates showing vulnerability and so hates admitting it.

A cuddler: Yes, somewhat subconsciously though haha

Wanted to kill someone: Yep. As a former pirate and a mercenary she’s also been in her fair share of fights and killed people.

Have / had a job: At the moment she’s a travelling sell sword/sailor for hire, and has jumped from crew to crew since growing up on her uncle’s ship. Her last job was working as a mage on a pirate ship run by Captain Edric Goldhammer, but they clashed a lot and eventually she was kicked off the ship after one particularly explosive fight

Have any fears: She’s afraid of losing her independence. As well, she hates showing vulnerability as she thinks people will see her a weak and needing help. She has an extreme fear of ants (myrmecophobia) after an experience she had as a young child, but otherwise she’s fine with bugs.

Family

Sibling(s): Falcon Shenkas (identical triplet sister), Eagle Shenkas (triplet brother)

Parent(s): Carolyn Shenkas (mother) + an unknown elf father. Her uncle Devon “Captain Albatross” Shenkas is also basically like a father to her.

Children: None

Significant other: None, formerly Sylviis of the Open Sea (didn’t end well)

Pet(s): None, though she does like animals
