Callimaco è una splendida lampada da terra progettata dal grande designer Ettore Sottsass per Artemide nel 1982. Il nome deriva dallo scultore e architetto della Grecia antica Callimaco, ricordato per l'elevata abilità tecnica e un'elaborazione curata della forma nelle sue opere. Proprio per queste caratteristiche fu scelto tale nome, per rappresentare l'anima di una lampada ambigua, ironica, che più che una piantana da terra sembra una scultura, a cavallo fra funzionalità e antifunzionalità. Italian 1950 lounge chairs att. Nino Zoncada, fully restored and newly upholstered with Italian luxury white boucle’ . The chairs have been completely restored inside and out and feature angle shaped arms, resting atop tapered metal legs ending in brass capped feet, slightly curved back typical of the Italian 1950s designs. Documentation of provenance can be provided upon purchase. These lounge chairs were outsourced in Italy by our team of buyers.

Giovanni Zoncada, known as ‘Nino’ was born in 1898 in Venice. He graduated from the Accademia delle Belle Arti and started working in 1923 at the interior furnishing department of the shipyard Cantiere Naval Triestino in Monfalcone. He dedicated his career to furniture and interior design with a particular focus on luxury ships; his own projects were Costa Crociere cursive line during the 1940s and 1950s as well as the interior design of the cruise liners Conte Biancamano and Conte Grande in collaboration with architect Gio Ponti. His furniture collections were distributed in the USA by Altamira New York where some of his famous works were represented by luxurious lunge chairs and occasional easy tables.
