This is a fun idea that I’ve had rolling in my head for a while, but you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to! What if the reader likes to draw, so obviously, when surrounded by those snackable men in East company, she draws them! She puts little notes next to the faces (ex. Thinks he’s gods gift to women, or sweetest man alive), and maybe how some of the Easy boys would react to flipping through the sketchbooks and seeing the notes? With Toye, Luz, Bull, and Shifty?

You halfheartedly let him flip through the pages and this man's slack jawed.

Keep in mind that, while Joe knows you sketch in your free time, he has no idea you sketch them.

Double shock when he gets to his face.

Doesn't process the silly notes at first because something's not clicking.

You drew him. Him. Out of- him?

This man cannot hold back a little smile of endearment when he reads 'toughest motherfucker' because that's a big ass compliment.

George is bored. He's very vocal about it.

Well too bad because Luz wants attention so he's going to annoy you until he gets some.

Verbal vexation doesn't work because you're currently focused on sketching Malarkey, so he switches to plan B; snatching the sketchbook away from you.

Immediately teases you about drawing Don while you chase him through the house you're billeted in.

Flips through the pages without actually seeing shit because initially he just wanted your attention and he got it.

But then he catches a glimpse of his face and sudden he's actually interested.

A boyish grin lights up his gaze.

He's way too happy about a damn sketch and he knows it but he can't help it.

You drew him and he looks handsome. He has never thought of himself as handsome but apparently you did.

Shoves you away to read the notes.

'Easy's source of joy'. THE REASSURANCE HE FEELS-

He snickers at the 'human lucky charm.

Then his head snaps at you in disbelief.

"SHORT?!" He's FLABBERGASTED. It's your turn to laugh.

Also run because George is so chasing you.

He's not sure what he's gonna do when he gets you. Probably hit you with the goddamn sketchbook. Probably kiss you idk he'll see.

BULL RANDLEMAN

Bull knows you sketch them for fun.

He's caught a glimpse of a couple of drawings here and there but never said anything, not even to you.

But now you two are sitting by each other's side at a bar in silence and he's adamant about making a conversation with you.

He bumps your arm, tilts his chin at you and then at the sketchbook peeping from your bag.

"Can I see 'em?"

How are you gonna say no to this absolute darling? To be fair you forgot about the little notes on his drawing.

He nonchalantly flips the pages, occasionally nodding and making quiet comments.

"You got talent, Y/n/n."

He's got the book wide open so you can see what he's seeing. And you see his drawing. And the notes.

Bull's heart swells at the sketch. It shouldn't surprise him— the fact that he's got his own page, but it does.

He reads the first note and the corner of his lip twists up. HE READS THE SECOND NOTE AND SNORTS.

He quirks a brow at you. "Anything you wanna tell me?"

You're mortified. He assures you he's completely kidding. Congratulates you on the drawings. Gives it back and watch your every move.

Husband material huh?

SHIFTY POWERS

Shifty makes eye contact with you while you're sketching him. Thrice.

First time you give him a mortified smile and he doesn't get why, but he returns it.

Second time he knows something's up. He sees the sketchbook.

Third time he walks up to you.

You attempt to uhm pretty much run away because you just finished so there's no need to stick around anymore.

He cuts through and get to you before you can leave.

"What were you drawing?" He asks, but he means 'were you drawing me?'

You show him and his eyes light up with joy.

He struggles with words but his visage is a very telling sign that he actually loves it.

He goes through everybody's sketch and asks if you were gonna add any notes to his.

The fact that he seems so excited about it dims your embarrassment and gives you a little bit of courage.

So you take back the sketchbook and scribble the notes before giving it back.

HE LOOKS EVEN HAPPIER.

He always makes a big point of not smoking around you, just so you can see that he's kicked the habit

He thinks about it, still looking back and forth between his two choices. "And if a person managed to quit?"

Now it's your turn to think. "I would be very impressed," you say. "It's not an easy habit to break."

He sighs, taking a deep inhale from the cigarette as your words sink in. When he opens his eyes, he sees you staring at him, looking disappointed.

"What?" he asks, tapping the ashes off the end of his cigarette. "This is my last one ever. I gotta make it count."

"You sure about that, doll?" Because, come on - you must be joking . . . right? (Almost) all the men in the company smoke!

"Positive," you reply.

"Well then." Joe takes a drag from his cigarette, then exhales the smoke while stubbing it out in one fluid motion. He digs the carton from his pocket and tosses it to whoever is nearest (probably Tab or Tipper), and then looks at you expectantly, waiting to see your reaction.

You blink, stunned. "Just like that?"

The rest of the company look just as shocked. They want to ask the same question. Just like that?

Joe tries to act cool about it, but seeing how impressed you are makes him want to smile. He tries to suppress it, and instead it comes out as one of his trademark smirks.

"Why would I need a box with some pin-up on it when I could have you?"

you know, the easy company members' ages are mostly equivalent to others but some are basically a child in a grown man body. a whole squad i'd say. there are:

• skip, don, penkala, they literally have children-like behavior. who will be the child if not these three.

• and we also have luz, hoobler, tab and babe in the problematic children group.

• webgott also belongs in this squad, they argue every single minute and skinny will have to stop them.

• skinny, shifty, eugene, chuck and blithe are also children-like, but they behave perfectly well. they are basically what people mean when they talk about the polite kid.

• and don't forget john hall, the shy little child who deserves the world.

on the other hand, we have the babysitters, or mom and dad group. this group includes:

• obviously, winnix aka the parents of the company;

• and speirton the another parents of easy co. but they are a bit closer to the men of the company somehow;

• randlemartin is a requirement. bull is most certainly the cool dad who will teach you to make models and martin is the mom who will give you a 2 hour long lecture but still let you make the models with you dad (aka bull) afterwards.

we also have the cool uncles and the perosnal babysitters. the uncle squad includes:

• harry and bill, the straights amongst gays.

• dukeman is the only one who will teach you good and valuable knowledge (they are appropriate, of course). he will also bring you candies, but only the right amount. let's say he is the only uncle that can be trusted in the whole squad.

• alton is the cool uncle who will take you for a ride on his motorcycle until you get bored and will answer/teach everything if you asked him no matter if it's appropriate or not;

• and pat christenson, who will draw a literal masterpiece and give it to you if you asked him to.

• buck is the kind of uncle who will sneak you a bunch of candies that are probably enough to keep you full for a goddamn month and will get a lecture with you if you both get caught.

an example for the personal babysitter is george, his personal babysitter and boyfriend is joe toye of course. or the kid will babysits the uncle sometimes. who knows.

This it my first fic so I hope you enjoy

Y/n was walking towards the lounging soldiers next to the fire. She was extremely tired. Having barely slept in the last week, she constantly tended to the wounded, almost never leaving their side. However, one specific injured man was too proud to ask for help, so she had to hunt him down so she could treat him. She stopped next to Bull; he had a deep gash on his forehead.

"Hiya, darling!" was the first thing he said to her. "Hiya, darling. I really don't think your sweet talk is going to get you out of this." Y/n and Bull were close friends, attached at the hip. No one knew exactly how they became friends, especially since Bull was never a very open person. But he had a soft spot for Y/n, maybe even a little crush on her, though he would never admit it, knowing he would never hear the end of it from his friend Jonny Martin, so he decided to ignore his feelings.

"Darling, I'm fine," he said. "Go look at the other guys; don't worry about me." Y/n replied, "Bull, I'm a medic. Worrying about you is my job." She grabbed his arm and tried to pull him away from the fire and to the aid station, but Bull, being much larger and stronger than her, didn't budge. "Come on, Bull. I'm already tired. I really do not want to deal with this. Could you please just work with me?" Bull smiled at the girl. He stood up and walked away from his friends.

When they reached the aid station, she pointed at a chair. "Sit down," she said. Bull listened to her and sat down, waiting for her.

"Now, let me have a look at your head." She grabbed his jaw with her hands and turned his face so he was looking at her. She started to sanitize the wound, and Bull winced slightly.

As she tended to Bull's wound, he couldn't help but notice a loose strand of hair. Unable to resist, he reached out and gently brushed it away from Y/n's face. "How are you actually doing, darling?" Bull asked. He noticed the confused look on her face, to which she replied, "You're asking me when you're the one hurt. That's not how this works, Bull," Y/n said with a gentle smile.

As Bull gazed into Y/n's eyes, a hint of vulnerability and affection shone through. He couldn't help but feel a strong connection to her, not just as a friend or a medic caring for his wounds, but as someone who had touched his heart. Bull leaned a little closer, his voice softer. "I'm asking because I care about you, Y/n, not just as my medic but as someone I've come to admire in these trying times." Y/n's cheeks flushed slightly at his words, and she continued to clean and dress his wound.

"Well, Bull, I appreciate that. It's been a tough week, but I'm managing. We'll get you patched up, and you'll be back on your feet in no time."

"What if I don't want to be back on my feet?" Bull said. "What if I want to stay with you?" Y/n replied with a smile, "Then I would say that you'd be crazy."

Bull leaned in closer, "And what if I said that I liked you, Y/n?"

As Bull's words hung in the air, Y/n's heart raced with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She had always harbored a deep admiration for Bull, but the thought that he might share similar feelings left her almost breathless. She looked into his eyes, searching for sincerity, and then, with a shy smile, she admitted, "Bull, I... I've liked you too, more than I've ever let on."

A warm and genuine smile spread across Bull's face as he reached out to gently cup Y/n's cheek. "I'm glad I finally had the courage to tell you. And I'm even happier that you feel the same way," he said softly.

He gently pulled her closer, cupped her cheeks, and kissed her. She was hesitant at first, not knowing what to do, but Bull took the lead, and she kissed him back. Their lips fitted perfectly together, as if they were made for each other. Bull and Y/n pulled away from each other, both with blushing cheeks, but smiles on their faces.

Bull stood up towering over y/n and taking her hand, gently in his,

BoB Headcanons: How They Sleep With Their S/O

A/N: This was an idea no one asked for that came to me awhile back lol. Made in collaboration with @wwhatev3r 💖

✿ Dick Winters: Sleeps like the dead, completely still on his back. There will be points when you have to check to be sure he's still breathing bc he makes 0 noise or movement. Almost vampiric. 🤣 

✿ Lewis Nixon: Lays on his back & snores like a chainsaw. Don't let him blame you for "stealing all the blankets"; it's 100% him & you were just trying to get some back. May turn over once or twice. Wakes up in the morning in a tangled blanket-cocoon with bedhead 🤭 Doing his best.

✿ Carwood Lipton: Side sleeper, arm around your waist like a gentleman, gentle nuzzles as he's getting comfortable which turn into y'all giggling. Very soft, barely-perceptible snores. A fairly light sleeper so if you get up, he'll notice but he has no trouble getting back to sleep after.

✿ Harry Welsh: Curls almost into the fetal position, holding you insanely close. If you need to get up for any reason, good luck because you will have to Pry his arms from around you and he will groan a complaint even in his sleep. He is somehow Always cold & uses you for warmth.

✿ Ronald Speirs: Force him to sleep please or he will stay up for days. Talks in his sleep but it's just complete & utter nonsense. Mumbles everything from "peanut butter" to "window sill" to something you swear was in a different language altogether, but if you confront him about it, he will deny it. He has a badass reputation to uphold, after all.

✿ Buck Compton: Between college, the Army, & law school, this man has been TRAINED to knock-out at a moment’s notice so he Can & Will sleep anywhere: The couch, the table, on the floor, on a train, on a boat, on a plane, you name it but wherever he is, he is Dead To The World. He does grind his teeth tho (all that internal stress, poor guy 🥺); please let him be the little spoon to relieve some of that.

✿ Don Malarkey: Snack King. Will hesitate in the doorway for like 5 minutes though, weighing his options bc he'd feel bad eating without you but he'd also feel bad for waking you up. Definitely stays in the kitchen to eat so he doesn't wake you (so considerate 😍). Moderately light sleeper. He doesn't wake up for every sound but he'd hear something like the phone ringing or a door opening.

✿ Bill Guarnere: TOSSING & TURNING. This man is as active asleep as he is awake. Hope you're a deep sleeper bc he sure is! Will get up at least once to get a snack tho & will bring it back to bed with him. There will be crumbs & if you wake up, you'll probably hear him crunching away. 😆 He grew up in a busy neighborhood in Philly with a big family so he'd probably fall asleep with the TV on for some background noise, if you let him. 

✿ Joe Liebgott: INSOMNIAC. He'll lay on his back with you so you can sleep on his chest but he'll be awake most of the night, staring at the ceiling. Definitely insists on being closest to the door, just in case (so protective 🥰). Might get up once or twice but he's impossibly quiet EXCEPT when he stubs his toe/trips over something, then you'll hear a "FUCK!" or "SHIT!" from somewhere in the dark.

✿ Eugene Roe: the world's lightest sleeper. He's so used to being on-call at all hours that he'll bolt awake at the slightest sound in case someone (you) needs something. Please cuddle & reassure this boy, he needs it. 🥺 Curls up under the blankets like a kitten. Definitely makes tea before bed. It's a nightly ritual at this point.

✿ George Luz: Sleeps on his stomach, one arm dangling off the bed. Has to be touching you somehow, even if it's just his foot or an arm draped across you. Drools on the pillow (but it's cute, dw 😆). Has the CRAZIEST dreams & will wake you up to share them with you. Gremlin energy (affectionate).

✿ Shifty Powers: Keeps a glass of water by his bedside (we love a hydrated king 🤌🏼) but gets up to use the bathroom like 50 times a night. He tries so hard to slip in & out of bed quietly though, bless him, because he doesn't want to disturb you. Gentle butterfly kisses every time he gets up. What a cutie 🥺

✿ Bull Randleman: Takes up all the space on his back like a starfish ⭐ so you kinda have to sleep piled on top of him like a kitten sleeping on someone's chest 😆 He loves it though bc he gets to feel like your protector. Truly a giant teddybear 🥺🙏🏼

✿ Joe Toye: Secret snuggler. Please give this man lots of cuddles bc he needs them. Sleeps on his side & loves to hold you. Please let him be the big spoon so he can feel powerful 🤭 Occasional sleepwalker. He woke up standing in the garage one night with no clue how he got there.

✿ David Webster: Definitely reads before bed. Has a pile of books on his bedside table that he’s “been meaning to get to" but he’s always falling asleep around the halfway mark with one on his face. Pls save his place for him or he'll wake up grumpy 😅

✿ Skip Muck: THE DEEPEST SLEEPER. He wouldn't notice if the world was ending. Rolls straight off the bed during the night too. You'd wake up & peek over the edge & there he is, laying spreadeagled on the floor, still sound asleep. 🤭

✿ Floyd Talbert: Definitely a snuggler so he'll hold you from behind but if you start "accidentally" pressing your butt into him, you're gonna get him going iykwim 😏 & he's gonna start kissing your neck. Many a sleepless night with that boy lol.

✿ Johnny Martin: He tosses & turns a little but mostly just some light snoring. Totally swears by his white noise machine though; he Cannot & Will Not live without it.

✿ Babe Heffron: Very cuddly but gives off a ton of heat so prepare to sweat. The good news is that his hands are always warm! Babe is all lanky arms & legs like a baby colt so you'll probably end up tangled together during the night (so cute 🥺)

✿ Frank Perconte: Definitely kicks in his sleep. If you wake him up, he'll immediately apologize & feel really bad about it but the moment he falls asleep again, he's right back to doing it. 💀

✿ Skinny Sisk: In a Perpetual state of motion, I am so sorry. 😭 Twitches quite a bit. Snacks also have had to be banned from the bed bc he is Not Above Eating Chips under the sheets & the crumbs get Everywhere.

Malarkey would shortcircuit at the mere sight of women in suits. Yes, I will die on this hill.

It all started when he saw Marlene Dietrich in Morocco.

That woman in that tuxedo awakened something in him and it has yet to die down.

Wide eyes at any woman in pants and a tie.

Once he overheard Guarnere commenting on how gals should only wear dresses and skirts and he went out of his way to defend women in suits.

He was a bit too enthusiastic. Now he gets teased every time E Company comes across a woman in a suit.

But they don't understandddd, it's not just the suit, it's the womannnn, it's the power they radiate just by walking.

Bonus points if they wear heels. Malarkey definitely gives off "step on me" vibes.

He desperately wants to date one but whenever he has the opportunity to ask one out in, let's say, a pub, he can't.

Like he PHYSICALLY can't. That sweet, bright charm of his evaporates and he's left being a shy, babbling mess.

When he finally lands one, it's because SHE made the first move. And the second. And the third.

The boys assume Don's pride must be a little wounded but I'm telling you, he couldn't care less, he's over the moon with the whole situation.

He beats around the bush a lot when talking to them but he's relentless. If he wants a date, he'll get a date okay?

He just needs a little push.

Luz was the one making fun of Malarkey becoming unable to function at the sight of women in suit. He started the joke.

Shocker huh. Obviously no, but you know what comes as a shock for him? How hot women in suits are.

Particularly that one Intelligence Officer working with Nixon who often comes and deliver documents to whoever is Easy's Commanding Officer.

She's stunning in her uniform right? Right. Well actually we don't know if she's stunning or if Luz is just utterly smitten by a goddamn C.O.

It's probably the latter but THAT DOESN'T MATTER.

What matters here is that epiphany George has when she comes rushing from Colonel Sink's office without having time to change into her uniform because she was on leave.

She's wearing a beautiful plaid blue three piece —I'm talking trousers, blazer, vest, tie, the whole shebang— and George suddenly understands Malark.

He groans and pretends to melt into the chair he's sitting in. Muck and Penkala find this very fucking amusing.

He's so dramatic about it, like, he wants you to know he is a d m i r i n g you. What he doesn't want to do is tell you.

Luz is the one who gives himself away to Don and I will stand by that.

SHIFTY POWERS

Unlike Malarkey, though, George definitely tries to hit on this one Lieutenant while they're off duty in England, which earns him some serious scolding from Winters and maybe —just maybe— a date from the C.O. he just flirted with.

Cheeky bastard.

He definitely defended Malarkey's interest in suited up women at some point.

Most assumed it was just out of courtesy because this man is a literal angel and everyone was going hard on Malark for absolutely no reason.

Truth is, he sees the appeal.

Yeah he very much sees the appeal.

BULL RANDLEMAN

Very quiet about his admiration so he goes unnoticed but uhhh definitely just as down for it as Don.

Some would underestimate his ability to sweettalk anyone into anything, by the way.

Forget Luz's obnoxiousness, Shifty gives out the most polite, subtle compliments to these women.

What a gentleman.

He probably would ask out a beautiful girl in a suit to everyone's surprise.

To some of them, an affirmative response from the woman would also come as a surprise.

Not for McClung though, he knew Shifty would get her duhhh.

Bull gives Hoob and Malark shit for drooling over Miss Tuxedo but high-key admires the women who wear them.

I don't know if he'd be attracted to them but he definitely thinks they're functional and badass, which he loves.

Specially if they smoke.

He would so have a "go girl" attitude whenever they would pass strutting by.

Honestly, I don't think he'd have much of an opinion on this, I firmly believe Bull loves functionality and tradition for him, and a suited up woman isn't very traditional :/.

Dick winters: He would be so worried. His mind wouldn’t be on anything else at the moment other than your well-being. He feels like a bad boyfriend because he wasn’t there to protect you :( He gets so nervous and would try his best to be by your side the entire time that you’re getting well.

Lewis Nixon: He freaks out when he finds out that you got hurt. He rushes to wherever you are and demands to see you. When he does finally see you he’s so gentle and soft. He holds your hand and reminds you over and over again that he will always be there for you.

Carwood Lipton: He somehow feels like it’s his fault. There was nothing he could have possibly done to prevent it, but he feels like a crappy boyfriend for it, he apologizes to you multiple times. Because he thinks he should have been there for you.

Joe Toye:He gets so mad. He’s ready to go out and hunt whoever hurt you. He will honestly go out looking for a fight. When he sees you he gets even angrier though because who could do that to you? He’s hard on himself because he thinks he should have been there to protect you.

Joe Liebgott :When he hears that you got hurt he goes out to find you immediately. He doesn’t care if he gets in trouble or not, you are his first priority. He’s definitely pissed but would never show that you, mostly at himself and the person that got you hurt. But he makes sure not to make his feelings show and tend by your side.

Bill Guarnere: He would be completely irate, but instead of going out and trying to find the fucker that hurt you he would check to make sure you were okay and stable first. “I’ll get him doll. Don’t worry” He would most likely be irritable around the guys for the rest of the day or longer because of it.

George Luz: He’s so so worried. He can’t think about anything else but you. He would hope and pray that you’re okay until he can finally see you. When he does he holds your hand to his chest and rubs your hand softly. Telling you over and over again that everything will be okay.

Bull Randleman: He gets so protective. He would find you almost immediately and wouldn’t leave you out of his sight for a second. He’s so patient and caring while you’re in such a vulnerable state. “Trust me. I’ll never let someone do that to you again, darling. I promise.”

Floyd Talbert: He freaks out immediately, the tough guy act would be completely gone when he sees you get hurt. He doesn’t care about anything at the moment other than you and your safety. “It’s okay. I’m here. I’m not leaving.” He stays so close to you until you get better.

Eugene Roe: He gets there almost immediately and when he sees you he stops. He’s completely frozen for a second because he hates seeing you in such pain. “It’s gonna be okay, I promise.” He prays in his head the entire time while he fixes you up and hopes that you’ll make it through.

Skip Muck: He gets so serious when they tell him that you got hurt. He wants to know everything that happened to you. How it happened and if you would be okay, he would ask roe relentlessly until he got the answer he wanted. When you finally get better enough to see him he’s so sweet and gentle with you.

Don Malarkey : He wants to go find whoever hurt you but he also knows that he needs to be with you in the moment. He gets so so worried and the other guys would have to reassure him that you’re gonna be okay. He swears he can’t lose you. He can’t bear to do anything until he gets the “yes” that you’re okay.

Shifty Powers: When they tell him that you’ve been hurt, you were already taken away before he could see you. He would just sit by himself in silence. Not talking to anyone or engaging in conversation like he usually does. His spark would be gone until they let him know that you were gonna be alright.

Babe Heffron: His reaction would be a mixture of emotions, he would seem very angry and stressed when he finds out that you’re hurt. He feels like a horrible boyfriend because he thinks he could have protected you from being hurt. On the inside, he’s scared and terrified that you won’t make it back to him.

Frank Perconte: He needs to know where you are immediately once the guys let him know that you’ve been hurt. He feels sick to his stomach when they tell him something bad happened to you. He wish he could just take away your pain and you be happy and healthy. He wouldn’t be able to eat or sleep until he knew you were back to normal.

Ronald Speirs: He gets furious. One because he should have been there with you when it happened, and secondly because he believes that it could’ve been prevented if one of the other men were looking out for you. Until you get back from the hospital he would sink himself into paper work to pass time, waiting until he could see you again.

Chuck Grant: He doesn’t care for all of the details, he just needs to know if you’re okay or not. He honestly wishes that it was him getting hurt instead of you. He hopes that you will be okay and he really wishes that you won’t be in the hospital for too long. He would miss you too much :(

Johnny Martin: He honestly just gets pissed at the world. You’re the least deserving to get hurt and now you’re the one who is in such bad condition . He wishes he could do something to make you feel better. He feels like a bad s/o because he can’t immediately take the pain away from you.

Skinny Sisk: He would be in total shock. It never occurred to him that there was a possibility you could get hurt, his plans of you and him making it out perfectly fine vanished from his mind. If he does get the chance to see you he will promise to do anything to help you get better, and to be there for you no matter what.

David Webster : He thinks it’s a horrible joke when the guys tell him that you were hurt and now in the hospital. He’s in denial for a while. Still shocked that you got hurt when you were just talking to him moments ago. He tries to find a way to see you even if he gets in trouble.

Buck Compton: It breaks his heart when he sees you like that, fear would creep up into his mind and overwhelm him until he knew that you were going to be alright. He genuinely thought he lost you for a second and feels so much more protective over you afterwards.

Ron Speirs

There'd always been something about him that drew your attention, something dangerously alluring.

The others would actively try to avoid him because "he's absolutely terrifying" but you went out of your way to bump into him. That was made a lot easier when he joined Easy.

Once you got to know him you realised that beneath the scary facade was a deeply caring and kind hearted man, and you fell head over heels for him.

Many hours between Hagenau and Zell Am See were spent chatting quietly together about everything from the weather to philosophy. You could talk for hours and never get bored. There was also plenty of sarcastic jibes thrown back and forth, but always in good spirit.

You thought he surely must have known how you felt, it was the worst kept secret in the company for chrissakes.

Eventually you built up the courage to tell him, you just needed a stiff drink first. Your heart sank when you walked into the bar and saw him with his arm around a pretty nurse. You wanted to run but you were rooted to the spot, hardly able to breathe.

Unfortunately that's when he spotted you, and he grinned brightly at you and waved you over and what could you do only go along with him because damn that smile.

"Hey let me introduce you to a good friend of mine," he said, and it was like a dagger being slowly pushed into your chest, inch by inch. Because that's all you were to him, a good friend.

Dick Winters

It was almost too easy to fall in love with him.

You'd always looked to him for motivation to keep going, and had always admired his determination and sensible leadership.

It was only when you got promoted and started working with him that you truly saw the real him.

He was wonderful. He was compassionate and humble and so so kind. But he was also sharp as a tack and delightfully funny in the most understated way.

You found every excuse you could think of to spend as much time as possible with him because it was one of the few joys you had in an otherwise miserable time.

He also started to seek you out more often, and you couldn't supress the little flutter of hope you felt in your chest that maybe, just maybe, your feelings might be reciprocated.

He'd talk of the farm he hoped to own if he made it home, and you couldn't help but imagine yourself right there with him in a quiet little corner of the world.

It was actually Nix who unintentionally burst your bubble one fine summers day in some German Town.

"C'mon Dick we're almost finished over here," Nix sighed dramatically, "You've got to find yourself at least one nice European lady before we head home."

"Who says I haven't already?" Dick laughed, his cheeks redenning. You almost choked on your drink but just about managed to keep it together, though you could feel Nix's heavy gaze resting on you.

"Have you met the future Mrs Winters then eh?" Nix asked coyly.

"No not yet," Dick shrugged, "I think that can wait until we hopefully get settled back home don't you?"

You bit your tongue so hard you almost tasted blood, but it was better than letting any tears spill over. Clearly you'd been wrong. He had no idea how you felt, and you were nothing more to him than another wartime friend. But you couldn't blame him for it. It wasn't his fault you'd misconstrued his friendliness for something else.

George Luz

George really was your best friend. Nobody could make you laugh the way he did.

You were the ultimate double act when you were together, always entertaining the others even in the worst of times.

But you also trusted him more than anybody. Whenever you were feeling down or needed a friendly face you'd seek him out, and vice versa.

It was bound to happen that you'd fall in love with him, I mean how could you not? He was your best friend, the most amazing person in the whole world.

You knew he didn't love you in that way though, and it broke your heart every day. You'd hear him tease the others about being too chicken to make a move on a girl they liked, and how he wouldn't make that mistake. He'd talk about how if he had a girl he'd treat her to all the finest things in life. It was obvious he didn't see you as anything more than a best friend, because if he did he'd have made his move already.

Joe Liebgott

You and Joe clashed quite a lot in the beginning. He was a total hot head and he drove you absolutely insane. Barely a day went by without you two throwing barbs at each other.

Somewhere along the line those barbs into flirting, and before you knew it you had some sort of flirtationship going on with him.

It was all fun and games until you were all out at a bar one night and you saw this pretty blonde approach him. The gnawing feeling you got I'm your gut was impossible to ignore, and you had to admit to yourself that you had a teeny tiny crush on him.

That teeny tiny crush grew exponentially the more time you spent with him. He was a total idiot half the time, but he was caring and he could be so sweet and so funny too. It hit you like a tonne of bricks that you were totally in love with him.

Of course you didn't say anything, that would be totally embarrassing. And anyways there was no way he'd have feelings for you.

But then he'd put his head on your shoulder, or give you a cheeky smile, or brush your hand in passing and try as you might you couldn't help the bubbling hope that maybe he did have feelings for you.

That bubble of hope was violently burst as you sat on the back of a troop truck on your way through Germany. Your heart grew painfully cold as you sat beside him and had to listen to him talk all about the dream woman he was going to find for himself when he got home.

-grumpy vs sunshine trope. Omggggg, the idea of this has me kicking my feet and giggling. Joe Toye is rough around the edges, tough skin. You on the other hand have always been the positive one, keeping the people around you spirits high. Being an optimist of sorts. Maybe not cheerful but you could definitely make someone's day. Yet behind his grumpy facade, he can't help but notice your unwavering optimism. He wasn't opposed to love; he just never expected to be swept off his feet so quickly by one person. Your personality was anything but the same. Never in a million years did he think he was going to fall in love with a bright and shiny person, which was the exact reason why he loved you so much. You two were like night and day. You were the beacon of light in all the darkness. I feel like Toye would also be super protective over you. Kinda the same vibe as liebgott. But that's for another time.

Eugene roe

-office romance/forced proximity. I didn't exactly know what to call this one. Both you and roe are easy company medics. Gene from the start, harbord a crush on you. And mean big time crush. Thinking about you he got butterflies in his stomach. You both spent significant time together. Typically the only times you were separated is when you were attending to fellow paratroopers. Bastogne was a turning point. You were in a jeep headed to the church, your hand and a cloth being the soul thing keeping a man alive. You almost made it before the church burst into flames. When Gene heard what happened he got the first ride possible to bastogne. When he saw you, hand now on a clearly dead man, he took you into his arms. He brought you back to the Adrennes forest. As usual you spent the night in genes fox hole the only difference was you both saw what was right in front of you for the first time and kissed. It wasn't until Austria where he gave you a promise ring where he promised to spend and devote the rest of his life with you.

“you make me the happiest man you know that y/n?”

“Tell me that again at our wedding”

Donald Malarkey 

-friends to lovers? Maybe a sprinkle of enemies to lovers?? I don't know but here me out. So you join the paratroopers as a female, the reason you got in was from connections in the army. Seeing how even if you are the most talented female there is, it's still the 40s here. I wouldn't think that the Toccoa men would flat out bully you, but would more just not believe in you. Probably leave you out of a lot of things. Kind of just pretend you weren't there. But not malarkey. He saw something in you that the rest didn't. Honestly he was shocked to see how they treated you. You were the best paratrooper there was in this company. You stood your ground. You met and exceeded in all categories. Passed each test with flying colors. You also were able to do it with the most incredible smile. As much as you disliked it, he stood up for you. Complimented and congratulated you when you did well. You really liked him. He was cute, kind, and not a douche wad. But sadly, most guys here if they weren't mean, they were trying to get Into your pants. As much as you wouldn't mind that with malarkey, you weren't here for that. One day in Aldbourne England you had enough. You weren't going to get swooned into bed and he had to know it. When you had a spare moment you grabbed him and pulled him aside and told him to stop. He was bewildered that this is how you perceived him. He explained to you that was not his intention. You could hear the sincerity of his voice. He meant it. This was the start of your friendship. You both were like a thing but not? Kinda a situationship. But it wasn't official until Haguenau. The effects of war painted across your faces. In one of the houses you laid in one of the beds, trying for the hundredth time to get some rest to no avail. He came and found you. There was little and a lot to say. Instead he kissed you. The past two years of friendship melted instantly into a lifetime of love.

William Guarnere

-Enemies to lovers. Come on, this is so perfect. Guarnere is a natural bully. He bullies everybody all the time, but you? He loves bullying you. He always has an insult special for you up his sleeve. However, that's a lie. He hates it to his core. You are the sweetest person ever. All he wants to do is not bully you. He's somewhere in the middle of liebgott and Speers. He doesn't want to be seen as weak. He has this demnor he feels the need to uphold and that everybody around him expects. Not some ooey gooey man. Even though if he could he'd probably worship you. You were perfect in his eyes. He hates himself more and more but the more he digs himself into this hole the harder it is for him to get out. He finally cracks when someone else makes a particular mean stab at you one day at a bar in holland. He can hate himself all he fucking wants for bullying you. But somebody else is doing it? Hurting you? Not going to happen. He breaks his nose, jaw, maybe a rib or two, black eye and busted lip, all before he could get ripped off this guy. You get wind of this later. Within minutes you're confronting him. Before he shuts you up with a kiss.

“I thought you hated me”

“Hate you? No, For fuckes sake sweetheart, I'm in love with you”

George Luz

-meet cute. You originally met just before you signed up to be paratroopers. And I mean just before. You were getting blood work done to test how fit you were to fight.  As you waited in the lobby to fill out paperwork, you went to reach for your pen. That's when you realized it wasn't there. It just so happens that a very cute guy next to you had an extra with him. You quickly filled the paper and exchanged names and conversations. On the way home you couldn't get him out of your head. So couldn't he. Later when you were assigned to easy company you found the one and only George luz. The same extremely handsome guy at the clinic. He immediately recognized you. How could he not? Your face and laugh had been at the front of his thoughts a lot lately. You tried to keep both of your composure during Toccoa seeing how you didn't want to get into any trouble. But that all fell apart after one weekend with a pass and some alcohol. Kisses were shared, clothes were shed and hands roamed. After that night you made it official. Luz also started writing his vows.
