i went to the dentist today and i think i got the worst result possible because apparently i have to get my wisdom teeth removed bc they're moving my jaw out of shape & giving me gum disease BUT it's a 2 year long waiting list on the nhs so i guess i'll just have to be in pain till then

#my dentist was like well. all i can suggest is an electric toothbrush and flossing and ibuprofen if the toothache gets too bad #which. great. can't wait to spend the next two YEARS trying to keep the toothache at bay with nothing but ibuprofen

Horrible how clean the electric toothbrush makes my teeth. It's one of the worst fucking sensations straight into my skull. But it works. It Works. It's so aggravating

spare toothbrush vs no spare toothbrush disc horse is, I think, very dependent on what kind of toothbrush you use. My mother was a dental assistant for many many many years. We had electric toothbrushes long before most ppl did cause that was my mom's field and she wanted her family to have the best of the best for oral hygiene. So we didn't have extra toothbrushes lying around but we always had replacement heads for the electric toothbrushes.....

#if someone made me brush my teeth with a normal ass non electric toothbrush I'd die at this point like #they just don't get your teeth half as clean #I found a good knock off of the really expensive like Sonicare ones and I love it and my mom uses one now too #so like lol no absolutely not I don't have spare toothbrushes #but I'm also not using the same toothbrush for like years on end. I just swap the heads out every few weeks......... #erin explains it all

#i was fucking obsessed with lps as a kid... not in the fandom way i just collected tons of them #it was all i ever wanted for birthdays and Christmas #and then i got into calico critters too but i have far fewer of those bc theyre pretty expensive #anyway i need to find a way to clean them all bc theyve been in a tote in my basement for about a decade and theyre a bit.... moldy. i #i could scrub them with a vinegar solution perhaps? i dont want to let them soak tho bc i cant get the insides fully dry ... #so i would have to clean just the outside... #perhaps this would be a good use for the electric toothbrush ive stopped using bc it was grossing me out knowing how the insides looked #they get all gunky and nasty it was disgusting #anyway!!!!! yeah. i will do this. perhaps tomorrow after i get my labs done???? or i could start tonight... #i also still need to hand wash all the plushies and repair the ones that got damaged (mostly bc my brothers dog murders them)

if you're like me and have one of those electric toothbrushes that has ridiculously expensive replacement heads and can neither justify buying a cheaper brush because you have a perfectly good one already nor spending $35 on a toothbrush head, remember to at least boil the one you do have (the head, not the handle part. definitely don't boil that)

I'm looking into dental hygiene stuff bc mine is verybad and I need to do something about it and it's just like. God there's so much. gotta brush but the Right Way and floss Twice a day (I thought once was fine? ugh) mouthwash tongue scraper and I also need to drink more water and exercise regularly and find time for hobbies so I don't go insane and social time and work and and and. how does anyone find the fucking time

#anyway. thinking of getting an electric toothbrush but also idk cuz it's expensive and I feel like it won't even work for me #like this keeps happening where I getscared and then get really good about brushing and flossing and shit and then I just stop #idk I get tired of doing all that shit every fucking morning and night like Jesus christ. Dentist's appointment today went well, I've got perfect teeth as usual

#😁😁😁 #no but srsly it's a damned relief every time #these things can get so fkn expensive and i don't really have the money #life tag #also if you can afford an electric toothbrush (there are good inexpensive options out there) then get one #my dental health improved drastically when i started using one and i have never looked back #they really clean your mouth much more effectively and if you are a spoonie/mentally ill- #then not having to put too much effort into toothbrushing can really be a godsend
