Guess who's back... back again... Q is back... Tell a friend.

Submit that IN CHARACTER gossip.

If you're new here, I am a gossip blog revolving around all the indie RP characters you can throw at me. This blog is in homage to the wonderful peeps at Indie Inquisitions (the OG team from like, 2012-2013!) who made the idea of having a silly gossip blog just really fun!

Here's how it goes--

You give to me: One Ask.

In return, I give to you: Hopefully Funny commentary. And tagging the character's blog in question!

If I don't know your canon, I will look it up and read the "*insert fandom* for dummies" summary. I may even go digging into your blog to find info if you're a fandomless character :)

Basic Rules while I load up a theme and junk:

If you don't want to reveal yourself, you better hit that anon button!

Don't misgender/insult muses or I'll break into your house and steal all of your cleaning supplies (and I'll delete the gossip and get real big mad about it.)*

In Character Gossip ONLY. If I sense it's negative towards the mun or how the character is written, I will simply block you.

WE RESPECT OCS AND WOMEN IN THIS HOUSE. As a friend once said: If you don't love me with my OCs, you don't deserve me with my canons.

If you know who I am on my main account, no you don't.

*I need everyone to understand, I am not going to be able to check every single gossip submitted for accuracy. I will try my best, but I am one single person doing this for the funnies of IC gossip shenanigans. I am counting on you all to do your due diligence and be kind to each other!

Office Romance (7/24)

Written for the Klaine Advent 2020, day 7: Grey 548 words

Another short one... not entirely happy with it, but seeing as this is an excercise in writing and not in overthinking, I’m just gonna leave it like this.

Abashed Brake Careless Disposible Event Farm

Kurt’s running a little late when he finally arrives at the office that day. Mercedes is already there, presumably dealing with her morning e-mails, because she’s typing away furiously on her laptop.

“Good morning!” she says cheerfully, and he returns the greeting as he shrugs off his coat and takes his things out of his messenger bag. “Oh.”

Kurt looks up at Mercedes’ sudden change in tone of voice, only to see her look at him disapprovingly.

“Is… is there a problem?”

He follows her line of sight, takes himself in as good as he can considering he has no mirror – from his laced up boots to his tight black jeans to his grey ruffled button-up to his asymmetric crane bird-feathered cardigan. As far as he can see there’s no stains, no loose threads, he’s wearing the garments as intended… and he has no clue exactly why he’s under scrutiny right now.

“Kurt, sweetie, that look is just not good on you.”

Of all the things she could’ve said to Kurt, starting his second week at his dream internship at Vogue, the statement is a definitive top five, and Kurt frantically looks himself over once again, trying and failing to see what Mercedes is seeing. He wouldn’t go as far as to call this particular combination a favorite of his, but he’s always felt like the pieces work well together. Granted - the boots and the shirt he’d thrifted, but the cardigan was actually of his own making, which makes Mercedes’ disapproval sting just a little more.

“What’s wrong with it?”

“What’s wrong with it?” Mercedes parrots. “Sweetie, it’s grey!”

Kurt rolls his eyes, and all his anxiety just melts away.

“Not sure if you noticed, but it’s the winter season.” He gestures towards the windows. “Everything’s grey.”

“Exactly,” Mercedes says pointedly. “All the more reason to not add to it. What are you doing in fashion if all you’re doing is conforming to the environment?”

Kurt takes a moment to look at her – her bright yellow jeans, hot pink glittery shirt, her long golden earrings.

“Besides,” Mercedes continues before he gets the chance to think of a reply, “if you think you’re going to get Blaine’s attention dressed like a dead bird, you’re very wrong.”

So that’s what this was about. Again.

Kurt groans.

“Are you ever going to let go of that?”

“Nope,” Mercedes says happily.

“But why?”

She shrugs.

“Because I think you two would look cute together. And because Will from accounting hooking up with Emma from HR is the most exciting thing to happen at the office this year and I need something new to gossip about.”

“Who?”

“Exactly!” Mercedes exclaims. “Boring people, boring affair, we need some excitement on this floor!”

“So start your own affair! Don’t bring me into it!”

“I prefer to be the gossiper instead of the gossipee,” Mercedes tells him with a wink, and Kurt sighs.

“Please,” Kurt pleads, “please, what can I do to get you to stop trying to set me up with Blaine?”

“Ask him out,” Mercedes says, bursting out laughing when Kurt sends her another of his infamous murderous looks.

“Not going to happen,” he says, but Mercedes just winks at him.

“You say that now, sweetie,” she tells him. “You say that now…”

‘okay but...*long line of circumstantial evidence that doesn’t actually mean what people are saying it means*” is not evidence. “her mom liked a post” is not evidence.

That’s gossip, not evidence. You can listen to it, and wonder what it means, and even collect it to see if it adds up to something later, but in itself, it could mean lots of things...they could be talking about something else, they could be talking about their feelings about something rather than an objective act, it could be anger over a break up because those are rarely happy, it could be sour grapes, moms are known to have biases, you can’t actually take a mother’s comment as evidence.

the reason why i don’t like gossip is not because i don’t want to know what’s going on. CLEARLY I like knowing what’s going on. The reason I don’t like gossip is because it’s unreliable, often biased, often untrue, often vindictive, often full of hate, often overly judgmental, and often more about the gossiper than about the gossipee. It’s not a very good way to KNOW what’s really going on.

sometimes you hear bits of truth, but there’s no way to know what’s truth and what’s made up, because the evidence is clouded by public opinion. this is why i refused to listen to or post beliza gossip before, because most of it was gossip without corroboration.

the OTHER part why I didn’t listen to or post beliza gossip was because IT WASN’T MY BUSINESS what was going on in their private lives and with their emotions. To be honest, it still isn’t. So i’ll let myself reel with the surprise of their wedding, and I’ll collect all the gossip that I’ve heard over the years AND NEVER POSTED, and show everyone what the story might have been so they can stop being so shocked and understand where this NEW FACT came from. Now the gossip from before has corroboration. We still don’t know the shape of their relationship, or other relationships. Or who they are as people, and I think it’s best if we remember that what we see of these actors is just the surface. They aren’t our friends, we don’t know them, and it’s not our business how their personal lives shape up.

y’all honestly don’t know the difference between facts and opinions and theories, do you?

#it's very hard for me to say i'm not interested in gossip when we're talkign about the beliza wedding and where it came from #but i am NOT interested in investigating their lives NOR the lives of their past partners #my goodness mind your own business and don't send me your gossip #ugh #i really DON'T like gossip #and gossip never seems to be about nice things it's always about mean things
