- it might be one of my fav chapters, so causally wholesome

- chapter 123, how differently Shen Qiao treats Yan Wushi and Bai Rong. Yan Wushi is in the end the only person who can make Shen Qiao so explicitly emotional

okay wait. Can we make the uhh that one scenario with Yan Wushi and Guang Lingsan at that manor after Ruoqiang real though. The like, scenario that Shen Qiao feared it was, where Yan Wushi had actually lost his memory again and forgotten Shen Qiao and is all buddy-buddy with Guang Lingsan.

A-Qiao is stricken and sad and also internally like ?? but why am I so sad about this... And Yan Wushi is arrogant and cold like he would be with a rando, but internally he's like, why can't I stop thinking about that guy though. He's pretty sure but he's not THAT great, and he has some wugong to him, but he's not THAT powerful. what gives??

I don't know if Guang Lingsan caused this (lowkey the problem with fleshing out this concept is I feel like we need a mastermind, but I don't know who that would be. No one is really powerful enough AND arrogant enough to try to control Yan Wushi -- the people who might be powerful enough aren't arrogant enough, or it's not their style... Plus also, what would be the endgame/goal of making him lose his memory? I mean the goal for ME is making Shen Qiao experience angst, but I can't think of an in-universe reason... maybe like a Little Mermaid AU? Where someone is obsessed with Yan Wushi and there's like an amnesia/love spell component? But again... who would be powerful enough to do this, lol, you'd have to invent an OC that makes it to the Top 10 list, but then if they're top 10, why haven't they emerged before/where were they during the events of the novel... )-- but anyway, I don't think Guang Lingsan would have caused it, BUT I think it would be fun to have him have a hand in maintaining it. Like monitoring to make sure whatever the structure that is stealing his memories stays in place and the plan doesn't collapse. Which would be extra angst for Shen Qiao because hey, um, since when were they friendly ??

but yeah.... I dunno. This concept is still percolating, but I do think this could be a fun little Scenario to put these blorbos in

cui buqu: i, jiejian bureau, trying to farm gold pei jingzhe: help me this is the author's notes that sold peerless to me, i can't describe how much i loved it when cbq started spouting jiejian bureau whenever he wanted to enforce his rank in the first case so he can push the dishonor to jiejian bureau, but when a moment of brilliance came about he turned tail and started speaking highly of zuoyue bureau instead...

fengcui is truly a peerless ship, i love them so much. they're both equally capable, equally powerful in different ways, and the way they dig pits to get back at each other is like lowkey kaguya-sama level of flirting... i love how big brained they r

mm i liked the murder mysteries but tbh fengcui rly... their ship dynamic rly sold peerless to me. i rly truly love their ship dynamic.

cui buqu is like shen qiao and yan wushi melded together, which gives the fengcui dynamic an edge that yanshen doesn't have. which makes fengcui v v spicey, n i like that a whole lot

when... when fx "backstabbed" cbq but then helped heal him n cbq thought it was all just a conveniently sweet dream... i die. when he cynically laughs that its impossible for someone as as beautiful and talented and perfect as fx to fall in love w someone like him, i sad. but cbq is smart and doesn't dwell much on the past, n i appreciated that once he knows for sure fx likes him, he doesn't stew in these insecure thoughts anymore and just faced his feelings head on bc he rly does like fx too

i read thousand autumns n ppl said that peerless is sort of reverse thousand autumns in the sense that ta is wuxia-main with historical political undertones in the plot, but peerless is historical political main with wuxia undertones. also its the "sequel" to ta n i desperately wanted more of mxs's ship dynamics so there i was.

lowkey gave me post-wn depression bc it was so good which is. like. Deserved.

I don't think being tough necessarily makes you a bad sect leader. He's both imo, cs he does show his persistence but when he lost he still backs down and accepts defeat, even going out drinking with yws still. I haven't read wushuang yet but from the snippets I've seen he seems like he has a good relationship with his sect.

hey do you have any thoughts on what fengcui are doing around the qian qiu extras timeline once yang guang's come into power? i found it weird that guang lingsan wasn't worried about feng xiao at all when he and yan wushi were hanging out during that period and the wushuang extras only confirm for us that cui buqu gets to live up to 40 iirc. i don't think yang guang would let his parents' rival spy agencies, that will never completely answer to him, stay once he has a hold of the reins.

But I'm curious now and am very happy to work this out w you...in the extras, Yang Guang's running around w Yuxiu trying to get the support of Xuandu Mt. and Huanyue, right? (or are there more extras that I do not know about?) that would be pre-fengcui meeting, presumably that's when fengcui are just getting their feet under them as bureau(?) leaders. And didn't FX say something about the position of Fajing Sect Leader coming to him without much strife? I didn't pay so much attention to Guang Lingsan in QQ lmfao. Did he die in the novel??
