Not from the ask list but the characters in ur fics as Irish counties and why?
anon, this has absolutely sent me. i have genuinely never seen something more up my alley.
let's start with characters we can pull from the series for ireland's six superior counties, shall we...
antrim = oliver wood
a county full of lads who've never met a spivvy tracksuit they don't think is the height of fashion, and who have a vastly inflated sense of their success at sports.
armagh = tom riddle
armagh has a [deservedly] bloody reputation. he could settle down in the murder triangle. he'd like that.
down = draco malfoy
people who live in co. down really like thinking they're better than the rest of us just because it's easy for them to get to belfast [lads, how's that something to boast about?], so they have to be the series' whiniest flop.
fermanagh = rubeus hagrid
fermanagh is full of docile lads who build things, in my experience.
londonderry = ron weasley
canonically gorgeous, gorgeous girlies live in this fine county - by which i mean, of course, that i do. we deserve to be represented by the series' most gorgeous girly. and a ginger sweetheart with six siblings [so you know which side of the sectarian divide his parents are on...] would go down a storm with our mams.
tyrone = harry potter
my brother once had his nose broken in a pub in strabane, which doesn't sound particularly interesting until you realise that my brother is a priest. by which i mean - a county filled with people who are reckless, quick-tempered, and always ready to throw hands? it can only be represented by one man...
---
and then the rest...
carlow = quirinus quirrell
the most interesting thing there is a big rock.
cavan = percy weasley
everyone i've ever met from cavan has been really boring and really tight. so there's that.
clare = ginny weasley
because it's gorgeous, in a not like other girls way.
cork = albus dumbledore
look at this canon line and tell me dumbledore's not a cork man... "In fact, being — forgive me — rather cleverer than most men, my mistakes tend to be correspondingly huger.”
donegal = sybill trelawney
always away with the fairies up there... and always drunk too.
dublin = walburga black
everyone you've ever met who lives in dublin is genuinely shocked to discover that the rest of the world exists beyond the m50. it's not not giving "has never set foot in muggle london and would die before she did".
galway = arthur and molly weasley
galway is the home of the nation's sophisticated [and, apparently, sexually adventurous] culchies - which fits two people from clearly quite distinguished backgrounds who nonetheless live the way they do...
kerry = gilderoy lockhart
you will never see american tourists get scammed more glamorously than in kerry.
kildare = regulus black
considerably less interesting than - and devoid of identity in comparison to - its neighbour, dublin.
kilkenny = charlie weasley
all they do is have red hair and hurl.
laois = daphne greengrass
on account of her irrelevance.
leitrim = sally-ann perks
on account of her irrelevance.
limerick = bellatrix lestrange
limerick used to be known as "stab city". she'd fit right in.
longford = mungundus fletcher
gombeen men abound.
louth = myrtle warren
because they [by which i mean the two people i know who were born there...] are always fucking moaning.
mayo = remus lupin
perpetually mopey, unless they reckon they're great at something.
meath = cormac mclaggen
they wish they were as class as the lads in dublin.
monaghan = cuthbert binns
genuinely couldn't locate it on a map.
offaly = grawp
i mean, who fucking knows? the entire place is a bog.
roscommon = aberforth dumbledore
you can guess why...
sligo = fred and george weasley
wheeler dealers, the lot of them.
tipperary = fleur delacour
the home of gorgeous, gorgeous girlies with striking accents.
waterford = dobby
they love a good strike.
westmeath = hermione granger
not somewhere you'd expect you'd choose to live if you were a bit of a know-it-all. and yet.
wexford = neville longbottom
they love to bang on about the soil.
wicklow = marge dursley
she drives a range rover and looks down on anyone who farms, change my mind.

NEW!!
Two-time Oscar-winning actor Christoph Waltz popped into a Belfast restaurant for dinner at the weekend.
The Austrian-German star, known for his work with Quentin Tarantino, visited The Chubby Cherub in Chichester Street.
The Italian eatery shared an image of its famous customer, perhaps best known for playing SS-Standartenführer Hans Landa in 2009 blockbuster Inglourious Basterds, on social media.
A Facebook post said: "Attention all foodies and movie buffs. We had a very special guest at our restaurant over the weekend.
"None other than the talented actor Christoph Waltz, known for his unforgettable performances in Spectre and Django Unchained, graced us with his presence.”
It's understood he is filming a new action-comedy called Old Guy in Belfast which will see him play an aging contract killer tasked with training a Gen-Z newcomer. However, he later learns their employers want to eliminate older assassins.
Waltz won an Academy Award, a Bafta and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained.
He also played 007's nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, in 2015’s Spectre, starring alongside Daniel Craig.
Staff at the city restaurant eatery managed to keep their cool.
“Our team was thrilled to serve him and we couldn't be more proud of the experience we provided,” The Chubby Cherub said.
"We hope he enjoyed his visit with us as much as we enjoyed having him.
“To all of our valued customers, we hope you feel just as excited as we do to have had such a prominent figure in our midst. Come dine with us and you never know who you might run into.”
It comes just days after a Co Antrim hotel welcomed Harry Potter star Helena Bonham Carter.
The actress, who played Bellatrix Lestrange and has had starring roles in Les Miserables and Fight Club, stopped off at the Salthouse Hotel in Ballycastle last week.
Ms Bonham Carter was filming in the area for romance movie Four Letters of Love, where she will appear alongside Pierce Brosnan, who was spotted shooting scenes on the north coast in February.

Olivia de Havilland and Montgomery Clift in The Heiress (William Wyler, 1949)
Cast: Olivia de Havilland, Montgomery Clift, Ralph Richardson, Miriam Hopkins, Vanessa Brown, Betty Linley, Ray Collins, Mona Freeman, Selena Royle, Paul Lees, Harry Antrim, Russ Conway, David Thursby. Screenplay: Ruth Goetz, Augustus Goetz, based on their play suggested by a novella by Henry James. Cinematography: Leo Tover. Production design: Harry Horner. Film editing: William Hornbeck. Music: Aaron Copland.
With 12 Oscar nominations and three wins for directing, William Wyler holds a firm place in the history of American movies. But not without some grumbling on the part of auteur critics like Andrew Sarris, who observed, "Wyler's career is a cipher as far as personal direction is concerned." His movies were invariably polished and professionally made, but if what you're looking for is some hint of personality behind the camera, the kind that Alfred Hitchcock or Howard Hawks or John Ford displayed no matter what the subject matter of the film, then Wyler is an enigma. His most personal film, The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), grew out of his wartime experiences, but they are subsumed in the stories he has to tell and not revealed with any assertively personal point of view on them. And anyone who can trace a Wylerian personality latent in movies as varied as Mrs. Miniver (1942), Roman Holiday (1953), Ben-Hur (1959), and Funny Girl (1968) has a subtler analytical mind than mine. What they have in common is that they are well made, the work of a fine craftsman if not an artist. The other thing they have in common is that they won Oscars for their stars: Greer Garson, Audrey Hepburn, Charlton Heston, and Barbra Streisand, respectively. The Heiress, too, won an Oscar for its star, Olivia de Havilland, suggesting that in Wyler we have a director whose virtue lay not in his personal vision but in his skill at packaging, at arranging a showcase not just for performers -- he also directed Oscar-winning performances by Bette Davis in Jezebel (1938) and by Fredric March and Harold Russell in The Best Years of Our Lives -- but also for production designers, costume designers, composers, and cinematographers: Oscars for The Heiress went to John Meehan, Harry Horner, and Emile Kuri for art direction and set decoration, to Edith Head and Gile Steele for costumes, and to Aaron Copland for the score, and Leo Tover was nominated for his cinematography. Wyler lost the directing Oscar to Joseph L. Mankiewicz for A Letter to Three Wives, but is there any doubt that The Heiress would have been a lesser film than it is without Wyler's guidance? All of this is a long-winded way to say that although I honor, and in many ways prefer, the personal vision that shines through in the works of directors like Hitchcock, Hawks, Ford, et al., there is room in my pantheon for the skilled if impersonal professional. As for The Heiress itself, it's a satisfying film with two great performances (de Havilland's Catherine and Ralph Richardson's Dr. Sloper), one hugely entertaining one (Miriam Hopkins's Lavinia Penniman), and one sad miscasting: Montgomery Clift's Morris Townsend. It's a hard role to put across: Morris has to be plausible enough to persuade not only Catherine but also the somewhat more worldly Lavinia that he is genuinely in love with Catherine and not just her money, but he also needs to give the audience a whiff of the cad. Clift's Morris is too callow, too grinningly eager. There is no ambiguity in the performance. If we like Morris too much, we risk seeing Dr. Sloper more as an over-stern paterfamilias and less as the cruelly self-absorbed man he is. Richardson's fine performance goes a long way to righting this imbalance, but he's fighting Clift's sex appeal all the way.

❝ weep little lion man, you weren’t as brave as you were at the start ❞
Tumblr media
huh, who’s DAVID CORENSWET? no, you’re mistaken, that’s actually JAMES SIRIUS POTTER. he is a 25 year old HALFBLOOD wizard who is KEEPER FOR THE BALLYCASTLE BATS. he is a HUFFLEPUFF alum and the child of HARRY POTTERand GINNY WEASLEY. he is known for being OBLIVIOUS, IRRESPONSIBLE, FICKLE, INDECISIVE, and COWARDLY but also AFFABLE, FORTHRIGHT, HONORABLE, ROMANTIC, and LOYAL, so that must be why he always reminds me of the song LITTLE LION MAN BY MUMFORD AND SONS and INFECTIOUS, BOOMING LAUGHTER; MISMATCHED SOCKS AND SCUFFED CONVERSE; NOTCHES ON A BROOMSTICK HANDLE, SIGNIFYING LOSSES AND WINS; FADED BLUE JEANS AND THRIFTED TEES; DASHING, DIMPLED GRINS; THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF FAMILIAL RESPONSIBILITY ON WEARY SHOULDERS. i hear he is aligned with NO ONE, so be sure to keep an eye on him.
GENERAL
FULL NAME: James Sirius Potter NICKNAME(S): exclusively goes by Jamie, but will accept Jem or Jemmy and the absolute best nickname I found for James while searching the inter webs: JumboGumbo. AGE/DATE OF BIRTH: 25, mm/dd/yyyy OCCUPATION: Keeper for the Ballycastle Bats GENDER: Cis Man PRONOUNS: He/Him CURRENT RESIDENCE: Ballycastle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland ALMA MATTER: Hogwarts, Hufflepuff BLOOD STATUS: Halfblood
BIOGRAPHY
Let's get one thing clear from the get go; it's not James -- It's Jamie. James always felt too formal, too serious a name for him. It never quite fit. But that's the thing about names; you don't always get to pick them, you just have to make them your own. Jamie always felt burdened by his name. It's hard to live up to a name that belonged to a man you heard a lot about but never got the chance to meet. The unspoken rule that if you bear their name, you somehow bear their legacy. How many times people searched through his mannerisms and the things he said in order to find some bit of James Potter Sr. in him. The moment he could, he made it clear;
"Jamie. My name is Jamie."
To say his childhood was charmed was perhaps an understatement. Jamie couldn't complain about his upbringing; he had two wonderful parents, a couple younger siblings he got along well enough with, and an entire extended family of cousins (or as he put it, pre-made friends) to go on adventures with. There was little space for loneliness in such a large family, and it was of little surprise that Jamie grew up to be so outgoing and affable. Sunny and optimistic, and with an infectious loud laugh, people tended to gravitate towards the boy and his dimpled grins.
Of course, it helped that he was the eldest son of possibly the most famous wizard in all of the wixen community. News of the Boy Who Lived's first child made headlines, and ensured that the world knew about Jamie before he'd really even opened his eyes to it. Everywhere he went, people either smiled or just stared, and he garnered attention simply from living. It had made it rather easy to make friends through his adolescence. Sure there was the constant question over whether or not people's kindness or interest in him was genuine or not, but Jamie didn't give it much thought. Ever looking at the glass half full, he chose to not dwell on the potential negatives of things. Life was less fun if you spent it worrying over the inconsequential stuff, as he would say.
When he arrived to his first year at Hogwarts and wasn't sorted into Gryffindor, Jamie was devastated. His family had a long history with the brave house, and he'd always imagined himself in crimson and gold when it was his time to attend the wizarding school. The absolute last thing he expected was to be deemed a Hufflepuff, though that disappointment faded rather quickly. It was only a few minutes into sitting at his house's table that he found a comfortable place among the other members of his house, and soon he forgot what was so distressing. Though he remained fearful when it came time to write a letter home to let them know how school was going, he was grateful to receive an owl back from his father with only encouraging words to say over his sorting.
School had been rather touch and go. Again his infamous family name made Jamie somewhat popular in his year, but it also lent itself to a few who would rather hate on the boy rather than actually get to know him. He brushed off any animosity he felt from fellow students, instead burdened by another obstacle: Academics. It turned out no amount of shimmery optimism and likability could help curb unfortunate grades. Clumsy with his wand and often fumbling around incantations, Jamie seemed to be positively hopeless when it came to magic. Concerning considering his family line, and after much debate it was soon made known that he suffered from dyslexia. No matter, he thought, Jamie would just have to work extra hard. Eventually he averaged out to mediocre grades, but he came to the realization that maybe he wasn't going to be a spell casting prodigy. It just meant he had stronger abilities elsewhere, and it became prevalent in flying classes exactly where his strengths and talents were.
By third year, Jamie came into his own when he decided to try out for his house's quidditch team. Quick and agile on a broom, with lightning fast reflexes, he got a coveted spot as one of the starting Chasers for Hufflepuff. It wasn't until his fifth year, when Jamie began coming into his height and broadening shoulders, that he ended up as the team's Keeper. While Hufflepuff wasn't always the best on the pitch, he made a reputation as one of the most skilled quidditch players in the school. This caught the eye of professional recruiters during his final years. Following in his mother's footsteps, Jamie left Hogwarts with a lucrative contract with the Ballycastle Bats and the hopes of a promising career in Pro Quidditch.
Up until graduation Jamie's life had been, for the most part, easy breezy. Adulthood decided to pop the blissful bubble he existed in. Starting at the bottom of the food chain on a cutthroat professional team and living on his own for the first time had been a bit of a shock for the young man. For the first time in his life, he couldn't smile and charm his way out of uncomfortable situations. Between learning how to cook and fend for himself, and trying to carve out a place in a new team, things had been a bit difficult. More often than not he found himself coming back home, into the comfort of parents that cared for him and believed in him, and younger siblings to whom he hoped he was still a solid role model, to regain a boost of confidence he was beginning to seriously lack. Long talks at night with his father under lamplight, and slowly Jamie began rebuilding his self confidence to the point where he could at least begin working on being a more well rounded adult.
It's those late night talks that he misses the most. Even now, nearly eight years after those days of insecurity, he can still hear the echoes of his father's voice and the words of confidence he spared him during his lowest moments. It's those memories that comfort Jamie through more bleak and uncertain times. The news of his father's passing, now two months past, are still so fresh in him, to the point where Jamie isn't sure he's properly grieved or come to terms with it. In the wake of the news, he took the first floo back home to be beside his mother and siblings. He'd always fancied himself a rock and emotional support for them. If the family was a home, then Jamie was the hearth -- the source of warmth and light even in the darkest and coldest of times. He knew he needed to be this for them, that if any of them needed to break then it was his job to be the shoulder for them to cry on.
He always looked at the bright side of things, and surely even with the unexpected death of their patriarch he could continue being that optimistic warmth for them. Without anyone asking, he began to shoulder the burden of being "the man of the family", the ridiculous archaic idea that outsiders continually thrust upon him in the wake of the tragedy. Strangers, stopping him in pubs and on the street with hushed condolences and well wishes as it was his turn to "take over the responsibility of the family". A horrific thought since Jamie had never been the best at being reliable, even if he really tried to be.
As society continues to contest with these tragic deaths and political unrest begins to settle into the wixen community, Jamie has attempted to live in blissful ignorance. It's enough to try and grieve his father, he isn't ready to confront the reality that his and Kingsley Shacklebolt's deaths bring. Something is coming, something dark and sinister hiding on the horizon. A reckoning is dawning, with the return of the Death Eaters imminent. It's of no surprise that most of his family, his noble auror siblings and his brave mother, have already heeded the call of the Order of the Phoenix. They were always the more heroic ones, and Jamie, well... He's always been the coward. True to his nature, he's blinded by his optimistic belief that things won't amount to being really bad, that a war isn't coming. With the upcoming elections, he believes that the community is smart enough to choose a leader who can quickly squash any fear.
He doesn't see the need to form ranks and prepare for battle. So he hasn't joined any reformed Order, hasn't made any clear indication that he'll come to arms if it becomes necessary. Jamie's too busy trying to figure out how to hold his family together after his father's passing. He's too busy training and preparing for the next quidditch season. Half the time he's too busy trying to clean up a mountain of dishes he keeps pushing off. Any excuse to keep him from making a definitive decision, choosing to be part of the Order, he's using it. If his family or friends are disappointed in his lack of stepping up, he doesn't know. In his mind, things are going to be alright no matter what he does.
They have to be.
HEADCANONS / MORE
if it isn't clear, jamie is a sweet summer child who is also quite ignorant to everything going on. oblivious and non-confrontational, he kind of chooses to live life in blissful ignorance under the guise of "seeing the glass half full". he is pretty optimistic but currently that optimism just seems like blind naivety, and for that reason alone he's decided he's not really actively taking part in anything going on. truth be told, he hasn't let himself had a chance to really grieve his father and come to terms with his death. maybe if he gave himself a moment to really feel that pain and address the loss, then maybe he will be able to address what's going on and actually do the right thing. but it seems unlikely.
at his core he's incredibly sweet and gentle, a nurturing a kindhearted person. but he can be honest to a fault, sometimes too forthright, and has a tendency to be wishy washy, especially on responsibilities. all that aside, he is also the most loyal ride or die friend you can have. if you make a friend out of jamie, then you've got a friend for life and he'll always have your back at the end of the day.
had a rough start to adulthood, but he's really come into his own. he can be persistent where it matters, and he's built a rather promising career as a pro quidditch player. that aside, jamie is rather humble, and his humility can sometimes come across as self deprecating. he tries not to let things get to his head, not wanting to display any ounce of arrogance.
despite coming into his own on the pitch, jamie is still a wee bit hopeless when it comes to adulting. he can't cook to save his life, and so he's a regular at dinner time at the local pub. he pushes off cleaning until his place is on the verge of complete filthy ruin. the only times he seems to really go above and beyond when it comes to maintaining his space is when he's in a relationship, but otherwise he can be pretty lazy.
speaking of relationships, jamie is an absolute romantic. when he falls in love, he falls fast and hard. it's not exactly his best trait, but he is a sweet and devoted partner. it can be a bit much, sometimes to the point of near obsession when he starts seeing someone. it's been said that most of his relationships fail because he can be almost suffocating, but he also goes through periods of hyper attention towards his partner and then periods of just being so focused on his career that he can come across a little careless. dating jamie is almost like being on a seesaw -- there are exciting wonderful highs, and devastating lows, and it can flip flop pretty quickly between him being "on" and "off" in the relationship. for that reason he has a colorful dating history, one where he always introduces a new girl as "the one" to his family until they end and another pretty face comes along for him to turn himself inside out for.
he absolutely adores his family, unconditionally. it's why his dad's passing as been so hard for him to come to grips with. he can't imagine his life without any of them. deep down he fears a war because he fears the idea of losing anyone else. and with his poor grasp on magic, jamie doesn't see himself being anything but a burden if he were to try and fight. again, he's burying the idea of even having to beneath blind optimism. of all his family members, he most cherishes his two younger siblings. there is no one in this world that means more to him than albus and lily. he is pretty sure he would do anything for them, and he's tried to be there for them in his own way. if that means with poorly made cookies or bear hugs, he wants to be the emotional support during everything.
despite building up his own mild fortune from his job and many sponsorships, jamie chooses to live a very humble life. he lives in a modest shoe box of a flat, a small studio that's cramped and overloaded with old rickety furniture. his couch is lump and incredibly uncomfortable, and the mattress he bought secondhand has some questionable stains he doesn't think too much about. his entire wardrobe is thrifted, to the point where it's 2029 and he dresses like he was on a 90's sitcom. it all adds to that humility he's somewhat known for, but it also just makes him a fashion icon.
got a dog with an ex who he was particularly overzealous about. he has many regrets from that relationship, but scallywag is not one of them. he's his dearest companion, and it's rare to see jamie without the pup in tow -- he even attends quidditch games and loyally watching from the sidelines of the pitch. also his perfect wing man, scallywag has helped his father land in another string of doomed romances, and still stands to be the best outcome of any of his relationships.
jamie wears glasses like his father, except for on the pitch. then he wears contacts but in his normal every day life he wears glasses. frames wise he wears ones similar to his father, though lately he’s thinking about changing them. he gets a lot of compliments saying he kind of resembles his late father with the glasses, which kind of upsets him.
idk i'll probably just keep adding to this as more random thoughts come to me.
has lived in ireland since shortly after finishing school and has been developing the slightest irish accent, which many people make fun of him for

WANTED CONNECTIONS
on / off again partner — one of those aforementioned doomed relationships that just doesn’t seem to end definitively. she and jamie appear to be on a neverending cycle of being heavily enamored with each other, then other factors getting in the way, and inevitably breaking up over something silly, only to repeat and rinse. potentially scallywag’s human mom. jamie may be trying to get it on again since his father died, purely out of the comfort of something familiar. Bonus points if she’s DE aligned, idk make it juicy
best mate — friend from the hogwarts day, possibly his former flat mate before getting his own place. they’ve been best friends since childhood and have always had each other’s back. perhaps the one person who can be blunt with jamie without him being too upset about it.
pitch rival — another pro quidditch player, with whom jamie has a rivalry. the media has probably blown it heavily out of proportions, especially since jamie doesn’t have much of a hateful bone of his body, but even he can admit they don’t always get along. could have possibly started back in their hogwarts years.
childhood friends — when they were little, jamie and this person spent a lot of time together. between play dates and sleep overs it was rare to see them apart. this one jamie’s one big friend outside of his large extended family, and he swore they’d be best friends forever. sadly things changed once they went to school and soon enough they grew apart. now as adults they occasionally bump into each other and awkwardly remember they used to be best pals.
the hater — it’s truly rare for jamie to really strongly dislike someone. he’s always trying to maintain positive connections with people, and if someone really doesn’t like him, well…. he tries to just ignore it. but this one person has always been a bit of a hater — perhaps someone who really dislikes his family and centered that hatred on jamie — and it has surprisingly bothered him deeply. he’s tried so hard to change their mind with pure kindness but it hasn’t helped change things. jamie is still trying hard to change their opinion on him, if it’s the last thing he does.
friend for clout — someone who is “friends” with jamie, though only to say they’re friends with a potter. jamie is oblivious to how one sided the friendship actually is, and this person seems to only reach out during the season for free quidditch tickets or to be invited along to big events. the friendship is very superficial
neighbor — they live in the flat above/below jamie and they’ve struck up a bit of a friendship/camaraderie. they met for the first time while hanging out on the fire escape of their building one night and now they regularly meet up on there to share drinks and talk about life. the friendship isn’t overly deep but they look out for each other, offer to check on each other’s things when the other isn’t around etc.
bad influence — considering jamie’s apathetic attitude towards the war, and him being part of the most likely family to fight against the DE cause, he just may be the perfect target for someone with bad intentions to come after. they could be a new friend he’s encountered in recent times who’s slowly earning his trust and planning to somehow use him against his family. perhaps they’re manipulating his blind confidence that the ministry will put a stop to any demonstrations before things get out of hand, letting him be naive and slowly building doubt between him and those he loves who are fighting the cause. idk let’s talk this out! obvs exclusive to DE considering the idea here.
o family where art tho? — exclusive to the big ol’ wealsey-potter-delacour crowd; one of jamie’s family members who he is shockingly not very close to. it’s almost to the point where they seem to actively forget their family. perhaps one of the things driving a wedge between them is jamie’s lack of desire to join the order and fight against the DE, and maybe they’re vocal about their disappointment in him. and jamie, ever the non confrontational coward is just ignoring them and their criticism of him, even though deep down he’s a bit ashamed. could potentially be extended to very close near family friends if necessary.
pen pals — a connection that started back in school when they started a pen pals program with the other schools. jamie eagerly took part and sent a couple letters. surprisingly, the other person could see past his awful chicken scratch and the doodles cluttering the margins of his letters and decided to keep writing. they remained pen pals and then after school had met a few times. their friendship is kind of awkward in person so they do tend to still correspond over written word despite now being geographically in the same place now. it’s just easier to be honest and open with each other in writing it seems, but hopefully their friendship can make the leap to being more in person.
teammates — bring me some more bats!! they can be kinda like family. or there can be team rivals. there can be friction. or they can be a bunch of dumbasses together. either way just bring me some teammates??
BONUS
yes this was gonna be the like graphic, like i did in ye olde days, but i didn't love it and didn't wanna keep working on it. anyway here's some doodles of the boy ~

Joanna Venetia Invicta Stevenson (March 10, 1938 – September 26, 2022)  Film and television actress.   The daughter of film director Robert Stevenson and actress Anna Lee.
On 13 March 1957, Stevenson was cast in CBS's Playhouse 90 adaptation of Charley's Aunt, with Tom Tryon, Jackie Coogan, and Jeanette MacDonald.
On 12 November 1957, Stevenson appeared as Kathy Larsen in the episode "Trail's End" of the ABC/Warner Bros. Western series, Sugarfoot. In the story, Kathy is a former childhood sweetheart of Tom Brewster's, played by series star Will Hutchins, though Stevenson is eight years younger than Hutchins. She is managing a dance hall to his consternation. Chris Alcaide plays the corrupt Clay Horton, who forces Kathy to marry him so she cannot testify in court regarding Horton's numerous crimes. Barbara Stuart is cast as Muriel, Kathy's business partner. Gordon Jones plays Sugarfoot's lively friend, Wasco Wolters, who has a romantic interest in Muriel. This episode reveals that Tom Brewster spent his childhood in Vermont before coming to the Oklahoma Territory. Stevenson subsequently appeared in two other Sugarfoot episodes, including "Brink of Fear" (1958) with fellow co-stars Jerry Paris, Harry Antrim, Allen Case, and Don Gordon.
Stevenson also appeared in episodes of Cheyenne (1957), Colt .45 (1958), 77 Sunset Strip (1958), The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet (1958), Lawman (1958), The Millionaire (1959), The Third Man (1959), and Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1960) alongside Burt Reynolds and Harry Dean Stanton.  (Wikipedia)

I always love hearing about people’s fandom and reading/writer journeys especially since they usually involve some very cursed content and fun navigating ‘90’s and ‘00’s tech. Where did you start, what got you hooked, how have your tastes changed over the years, what made you decide to go from reader to writer? 💖
thank you for the ask, anon - and you’re correct that my experience was one of cursed 2000s technology, given that i started reading harry potter fanfiction via the twin madhouses of livejournal and fictionalley, nothing ever tagged beyond ‘lemon!!!’, on the family computer using dial-up internet [god bless the fact that the parents of my generation had no inclination to care about what we were consuming online - one of my brothers was a huge fan of rotten.com, and he's perfectly well-adjusted...]
my reading tastes were, initially, lord of the rings focused - i still think* about a particular elrohir/námo mandos fic which had me in chokehold when i was about fourteen - but i was as big a harry potter fan as anyone of my generation [shoutout in particular to one of my pals, who spent the entirety of a geography trip in 2006 speculating what the unknown horcruxes could be with me while we froze our bollocks off in some godforsaken bog in county antrim]. so it wasn’t a surprise, i suppose, that i was clicking on any fan-fiction links i could find for that series too…
[the fic which has stayed with me most profoundly from those days was called something along the lines of murder at malfoy manor which was on fictionalley and was this exceptional combination of the rules of cluedo and the ron-is-time-travelling dumbledore theory. it was incredible.]
but i wasn’t a writer. i was one of those science-y, not-like-other-girls teenagers who was performatively really cunty about other girls who liked to write little stories or draw little pictures, which i thought was fundamentally unserious. the fact that i was an avid consumer of these stories didn’t make me question what the fuck i was being such an arsehole about…
because i loved a bit of fan-fic, and not only did i love fan-fic but i demonstrably had a fandom presence and was clued up on fandom lore - i could quote my immortal, i knew what a snape-wife was, i was on a forum or two - although i went to great lengths to avoid anyone in my real life discovering that. and i do feel extremely proud of myself that i have a reputation among people i know for not having been particularly cringe as a teen [how little they know… i’ve just got a good poker face.]
i lost interest in harry potter when i went to university - i started uni in 2010, when it was still socially acceptable to be really into it, and i definitely went to my fair share of themed parties in the first couple of years, but by the time i graduated in 2016 (i did medicine, so it’s a six-year slog…) i’d not opened the books, watched the films, or thought about the fandom in years. i remember rolling my eyes at the number of people i know who went to see cursed child when it first opened. bit cringe to be in your twenties and into harry potter, isn’t it?
[lol. lmao.]
but a global crisis changes things, i suppose.
like so many people, i got back into fandom during the coronavirus pandemic - although, regrettably, not because i was stuck at home. i don’t think i’ll ever be able to accurately describe what it was like to work in a hospital in 2020, except to say that by the time i got home each day the only thing i could do other than stare blankly at a wall was lose myself in the comfort of media i knew well and its memories of a simpler time. and once i’d re-read the books a few times… well, it was only a matter of time before i was scrolling ao3 at 3am.
and, because my ego hasn’t changed even if my relationship with my own gender has, it did not take a lot to convince me that i could write stories which were just as good as the ones i was reading.
you can be the judge of whether i succeeded.
[*i’m being coy. i have it bookmarked on ao3]
