I've seen some people say: “Trent shouldn’t have been gay, he should have just supported Colin anyway.” And it's such a weird (and bad) take.

Had Trent been straight we wouldn’t have gotten the scenes we did. Colin could have opened up and told Trent how he felt, but Trent wouldn’t have understood, he could have been supportive. But he wouldn’t understand where Colin is coming from. But because Trent is also gay he knows what it’s like being in the closet, living with fear and dread. Living with thoughts like “if I tell the people I love about my sexuality, will they hate me?”. You can’t get that from a straight ally, no matter how supportive and well meaning they are. Because they don't know what it's like. We need straight allies, we need all the straight allies we can get. But what Colin needs RIGHT NOW is someone who, while not a professional athlete, is involved in the world of football. Knows about homophobic fans, knows that there are a culture of toxic masculinity and homophobia in the clubs. That is why it’s important that Trent himself is gay.

Colin almost got runover by a cyclist in his desperate attempt to run away from Trent at the gay bar. But the relief when he understands what Trent is saying "I must have a good reason for that, mustn't I?" is so clear. Trent is also queer, Trent is safe, I can let Trent in.

And I think some people might read that line as "I haven't outed you because I'm gay too, but if I had been straight I would have" which isn't what Trent means, Trent is using that phrase to be subtle, to let Colin come to his own conclusion, because Colin is stressed out, he's scared. By letting Colin think for himself it gives Colin an opportunity to calm down (which is also why Trent holds his hands out as if calming a frightened animal, he also makes himself slightly smaller by bending his knees and leaning forward slightly). And he does, he realises what Trent is saying and he calms down. It's also an added layer of security it's not just, "I haven't outed you" it's "I haven't outed you because I am also queer". A straight person saying that they haven't outed you doesn't hold as much weight as a queer person saying it. Because you know that the queer person knows how important it is to be safe and to come out on your own terms wheras a straight person, especially an eager well meaning ally might try and encourage you to come out because "hey, it's gonna be fine", even when that's not the support you need at the moment (there are ofc exceptions, both when it comes to straight people and queer people).

But because Trent is also gay, Colin now has someone in his corner at work, who knows him, knows his secret. Who also carried that secret himself once. We’ll most likely get straight allies in the other players and the leaders at Richmond.

So no, Trent shouldn’t have been straight. Because that is not the support Colin needed at that moment. He needed queer solidarity.

Hmm.. what if sunday only opens up to those close to robin?

As the spokesperson for The Family, he's under a great deal of pressure and oversees a multitude of things, so naturally he's a bit sly, and doesn't keep anyone close. His sister is his only "companion"/friend who he keeps by, and as per the quest she left when she got older, so sunday would have become more and more lonelier.

So.. imagine being one of the backstage helpers for Robin's shows, maybe helping out as a staff member at penacony in preparation for the Charmony festival, or really just about any other show Robin attends, being tagged along with a few more people as her reliable team. You get close to the superstar by a few conversations, jokes, and a bit of comforting from time to time. Eventually having to travel back to Penacony in time for the Charmony festival, and Sunday seeing you help out his sister so much, being a mutual friend of hers, instead of a worshipping fan.

Naturally she tags you along to certain tasks that sunday assigns, passing a look to her asking if she wanted you to really go with her. Over time, you start tagging along with them both to handle other general matters, and all 3 of you bond. Sunday feels genuinely lighthearted for once, joking around and sharing a laugh, with his sister and you. And he realizes just how much he will miss it, how lonely it will be without his sister. So, although Robin usually relies on Sunday to take care of things that trouble her, for once,Sunday passes an off-comment about how much he'll "miss company". If to cheer him and support him back just a bit, she offers to convince you to stay back, once she has to leave Penacony.

And you get a permanent "vacation" in Penacony. Isnt it exciting? Sunday will personally oversee your day to day affairs, and includes you in meetings, some quite sensitive in their information. He says if you leave, it'll be troublesome to ensure it doesn't.. leak. For the forseeable future, you're positively trapped under his care. Don't worry – he treats his employees well. At least, he'll treat you well. Just tag along to this meetings, sit beside him, and help him with picking out an outfit, perhaps help him understand dreams by telling him some of your own. Don't mind the hand that rests on your shoulder, creeping down your arm, rubbing your elbow gently. It's just a friendly gesture. You've been so sweet to Robin, he's quite pleased you're her friend. Why don't you listen to her and stay here, instead? She'll visit, and you will never feel lonely. Just.. don't bother trying to leave. The room is locked, anyway.

How about both of you test out the new dreamscape he's been carefully crafting? There's no need to go into separate beds, just share one, it'll be more efficient. Hold his hand, he'll help you adjust to the experience, of course.

I'm sure that some has talked about this before, but I have always been confused about Mello's reasoning for kidnapping Takada. I finished a read through of the Death Note manga recently and I FINALLY feel like I understand why. I'm going to break this down into 2 sections: Why he did it, and Did he intend to die?

Why he did it:

While I think it's meant to be kept somewhat vague for narrative purposes, the thing that I never understood fully was the wording in the scene:

Why specifically "his" name? Of course this line always made my little Meronia heart flutter, but before my manga read through I never quite understood it. If Near's plan to catch Kira went wrong, all of the SPK would die, not just Near. So why the emphasis on him? Especially if we are looking at a completely surface level reading of DN where Mello purely hates Near? But then I found this moment a few chapters earlier:

To summarize what is happening before and after these pages (Chapter 90), Near tells Light that there are 4 members of the SPK and that he is in Japan. He says they might meet soon. This is all coded language to challenge Light to an in person meeting. At this point Near admits that he doesn't have a concrete plan in place for confronting Light. But he knows they must meet Kira face to face and prove his identity by having a name written in the Death Note. This is prior to the SPK starting their investigation into Mikami. The part that stuck out to me was " When we meet Kira, the first person he'll write down is me, so..." To me this means that prior to finding Mikami and adding fake pages to the death note, Near planned to sacrifice himself to catch Kira if they didn't have any other options. This DIRECTLY correlates to Mello's line (read right to left):

Mello kidnapped Takada because he knew that if he didn't there was a good chance Near would die. This is literally the only reason that the text give us. Which leads me to our next part.

Did he intend to die?

While I've seen a lot of different takes on this, many of which I find very interesting, I now believe that yes, Mello kidnapped Takada with the intention to be killed by the death note. Here is my reasoning.

Mello knows better than anyone else investigating Kira how the death note works. Like L wanted to before his death, Mello used his time in the mafia to experiment with the rules of both the death note AND the shinigami eyes.

In the manga, Mello has one of the mafia members Kal Snydar (a.k.a. Jack Neylon) make a deal for the shinigami's eyes. Rod and Mello use Snydar's eyes to kill others for an extended period of time. This would give Mello at least a basic understanding of how they work; what face coverings inhibit the eyes, etc... And then after his encounter with Soichiro Yagami he becomes aware that there is always a chance that anyone associated with Kira could have the eyes. He also knows that Kira knows his name but not his face after the explosion. Meaning that he would know that the ONLY thing stopping Kira from killing him would be his face. Given that Mello never uses the death note himself but had other's use it for him, I believe that he also would theorize that Kira would do the same (such as X-Kira/Mikami, Misa, and Takada). Because of all of this he would be especially careful around anyone he knows has connections to Kira, such as Takada the spokesperson of Kira.

Moving on to the kidnapping. Mello wears a motorcycle helmet that appears to be tinted, but is clear enough to fully discern his face through. We know from previous instances that a dark tinted visor will block the shinigami's eyes from seeing your name, which most motorcycle helmets already have. Here is a comparison of a helmet used to block the face vs what Mello wore:

Mello specially chose one with a clear enough visor to see through. You could argue that he did this to show Halle who he was, allowing him to take Takada. However if this was his intention there were many other ways to make his identity clear to Halle without revealing his face. There is also the line on this page that intrigues me. "She's connected to Kira... Unless I do this..." The sentence structure implies that there is a direct consequence Mello envisions. Unless you do this...then what? Given everything else I have outlined above to me the implication is "Unless I do this then Near will die." You could argue that he’s thinking something like “Unless I do this then Near will win!” However, Mello has always been outspoken in his desire to be the one to catch Kira. If that’s what he was thinking wouldn’t it just say that? Whatever his reason is is something he can’t bring himself to say even in the privacy of his own brain.

If you were to argue that Mello didn't realize that his helmet was clear enough to see his face, this is then made moot when he takes it off in front of Takada. There was no reason for him to do this, in fact, there were a multitude of reasons not to. Even if Takada didn't have death note pages on her, Mello knows that if she escapes, Kira could easily ask her to write his name in the death note because she knows his face. You may then think "but why does Mello take precautions to not get followed and killed by Takada's men? He takes away and ships off anything that could be bugged and tracked including her clothing." This just further proves that he is trying to be killed specifically by the death note. The kidnapping is planned to a T, but he doesn't take the simplest precaution of concealing his face from one of Kira's biggest supporters.

So what was Mello’s plan? We know that Mello is someone who plans for a lot of different contingencies. We see this when he plants bombs through out his safe house in the event that he’s backed into a corner. Because of this I believe he had a few different plans. But no matter what his goal with kidnapping Takada is to force contact with Kira. In fact, Near thinks that Mello’s goal is to use Takada as bait.

What his exact plan was up in the air for me. He may have intended to be killed by her, thinking that she had access to a death note when kidnapped which would explain why he didn’t check her over before giving her the blanket to cover herself. He states that his intention of taking her clothes is to removing any tracers so her bodyguards didn’t find them. They make a deal that he will give her the blanket before taking off her underwear, where she’s hiding her pages of the death note.

Even if Mello didn’t know that you can used pages torn out of the death note, there are a few time in the series when a person hides a full death note under their clothes (Near being my favorite example). So it’s not out of the question that she could have had one tucked into the back of her underwear.

His plan also could have been to release her in some way so that she could get back to Kira and use the death note. Mello knows Kira has his name, now with Takada having seen his face Kira would have her write Mello’s name for him. Or it could have been that he intended to use her to draw Kira out and get killed by the death note in the process.

Going back to our first example from the manga, Near says "The fact that we replaced the pages in the notebook and the notebook happened to be a fake… I find it hard to believe that Mello thought that far ahead." I do agree with Near here. I don't think that Mello had figured out that the notebook was fake. But I do think that Mello could see that Near's plan had holes in it, and any mistake would result in Near getting killed. His solution was to be the name that was written in the book instead. You can argue in a lot of different ways why it was important to Mello that Near lives. Such as, Mello knew that with Near dead he didn't have any hope of catching Kira by himself with all of this resources and allies depleted. Or my favorite reason, despite his protests Mello deeply cares for Near and was willing to die if it meant Near would survive.

Eternal-Related Theories

Murdoc, Proleus, & The Ulfrangar

So... Murdoc has just been chosen for the position of Proleus' Paladin, as his personal warrior and spokesperson. Proleus is a god of war and supposedly had some kind of warrior group training to become his paladin/serving him as best they could. (The warrior group's existence is evidenced by the temple complex in Aular, which contained living quarters and training grounds, and it was directly stated that there might have been a 'sacred order' living there.) Murdoc's entry into the temple complex is accompanied with an almost immediate feeling of being watched, as he says multiple times. Later, when he is chosen by Proleus, there was little to no hesitation in removing Jaevid, Isandri, Garnett, and Roxus from the Proving Grounds. Isandri states earlier that Proleus values mental and emotional control along with physical prowess. This makes Proleus choosing him a lot more suspicious, because while Murdoc was very well trained, the others are all very powerful and knowledgeable. However, Murdoc was trained by the Ulfrangar, an ancient, powerful, organization known to be the best trained in the world. Proleus also had/has a group of powerful warriors who served him. He's a god of war, so it would make sense if an organization started by him was so powerful. With that in mind, it isn't hard to draw the conclusion that the Ulfrangar were or are Proleus' chosen warriors, with the Zuer as his spokesperson. This would make Murdoc the current Zuer, by rights (and divine power) alone. Despite his status as a former Ulfrangar assassin, he has technically become their leader and re-integrated himself into their world, this time by choice.

Reigh, Maylea, Clysiros, & The Zenith's Call

So Reigh has finally decided to try and make a deal with Clysiros, (risking his sanity again) to try and even the odds between Auguress Riva and their little team. We also know that he made a very dangerous deal with the Zenith's Call (whose motives are mostly unknown) that is very likely to put everyone at risk and might end in betrayals. Maylea is also trapped in the crossfire of this situation, and Reigh is trying his best to protect her and make sure she doesn't have the same traumatizing experiences he did, (going out into the world, being kidnapped, tortured, and experimented on at 17, and then proceeding to suffer in silence after that for 14 years,) and that there's someone there to keep her safe. He's struggling with making sure she doesn't end up like him, which is understandable. (He's miserable, goddammit.) (His attempts at protecting her might be some kind of twisted form of projecting? I guess he sees her situation as a parallel to his own and desperately wants to try and fix his own problems by helping her. Maybe he thinks he'll be able to forgive himself for everything if he makes sure that she doesn't get hurt. He does seem to think that if he can't help people, he isn't a good person.)

Clarke, Avgior, Arlan, & Sadeera

Clarke has been revealed to be Avgior's reincarnation, and has also regained some of his memories by visiting the dragon god's corpse. He is now capable of using some of his former powers, and was able to fight Sadeera head on and survive, which is quite the feat. However, with those memories and powers comes the revelation that Avgior was murdered by a mortal man. When Sadeera attacks Clarke, Noa & Traegan, she has the weapon that killed Avgior, and even uses it to take some of Clarke's blood for a ritual. (Dragon blood is very powerful in rituals, according to Edarix... what would a dragon god's blood do??) Why does she have it? Many centuries ago, Arlan was apparently banished from his homeland of Avora, and whatever event happened before said exile caused him to have nothing but utter contempt for his sister Sadeera. From what Arlan has said, an Avoran elf leaving their home is equivalent to cutting off their very life force, causing them to slowly dwindle away until they are a mere husk compared to the near godlike beings they were before. This would imply that exile is a very serious punishment. What could he have done that was so serious he got kicked out? What about killing a god? Avgior was felled by a mortal man. Arlan was exiled a very long time ago for a crime so serious his people decided to force him to basically cut off his own semi-divinity and live as a regular mortal. (Somewhat) Sadeera, as his sister, would have had access to anything he did, right? It would have been easy for her to take the knife. The only question remaining is why she would want to have it, and that also raises another question; why does she want to become an all-powerful goddess so badly? She seems to have some kind of grudge ("curses only last as long as the gods who inflict them") against the divine, perhaps this is leading her on? So Arlan was exiled for the crime of killing the god of fate and discernment, but did he actually do it? Could Sadeera have framed him? How will Clarke deal with this?

Maylea

Her journey in general has been a thematic parallel to so. many. other. arcs.

Running away to try and help save the world? Jaevid and Reigh both did that, with varying degrees of success. Connecting to a god's powers and doing crazy stuff with it? You can bet someone else she knows has done that too. Currently, much like her uncle, she stands in the shadows of all the men and women who came before her. However, as she is trying so desperately to prove, she is not her father. Maylea is a person all on her own, trying to make a legacy for herself. Her determination to rescue Ronan by sneaking onto the ship, contacting Paligno, and freeing the dragon in the Caldera, is her way of doing that. So far, I'd say she's doing amazing at it, and watching her grow into the capable dragonrider she was meant to be, especially with the final book coming up in a few months, will be captivating. Maylea will no doubt play an important role in rescuing Ronan. Saving him was her goal for coming here, and she won't let that idea go. She will most likely be the person who reaches out to him and sets him free in his darkest hour.

Jaevid, Generational Trauma, & Destiny

So far, Jaevid is having what will probably be the biggest existential crisis he'll ever have in his entire life. His children are being dragged into a war with gods, by the same divinity that started his journey no less, and all he can do is watch. This is the same thing that happened to him during the Gray War, and it probably torments him to know what comes after the wars and divine relations. To know that kind of thing might very well be happening to his kids. So he left home and went to Nar'Haleen to try and stop it, or at the very least lessen the damage. This, as has been proven somewhat by previous books, is probably not a good idea. Jaevid's tale of heroism was not a very happy one. He knows that, and is very clearly trying his best to make sure his kids can have what he didn't. (I'm sensing a theme here...) Paligno, (and all the other gods we've met so far) has a habit of choosing young children to be their speakers. For whatever reason, they prefer the sense of innocence and naivety that comes with choosing a young person. Maylea is mostly unaware of all the terrible things that come with being chosen by a god. However, as many characters have said in the series before, "it's destiny." Therefore, Jaevid trying to stop or protect Maylea in whatever way he can is probably not going to end very well. "Destiny" happened to him, it happened to Reigh, and now it's happening to Maylea. Jaevid is probably very keenly aware of the cycle that's been going on. "Destiny" has left him and Reigh traumatized, and now it's coming for his children. By coming to Nar'Haleen, Jaevid is attempting to end that cycle before it can cause any more harm. Choosing (in some way) to defy the thing that made him and so many others into what they are today. "Destiny" is what made him a legend. It's what helped him and Reigh end the Tibran War. It's what's going to help his daughter make a name for herself here and now. Defying it and everything that comes with it could protect his kids from experiencing life-changing traumas, or it could make everything worse.

Amberstar: Leader of WindClan. She's a just leader and is not bad at solving conflict, but she does have a slight problem with being hot-headed and jumping into fights too quickly. She is also kind of strict and will not hesitate to punish wrongdoing in a way she sees fit. Amberstar chose her deputy not based on any interpersonal connections, but because she felt he would be best suited for the job and would work well with her; in truth, the two didn't know each other well at the time. She's good at keeping her Clan informed and calls frequent meetings to tell them about the happenings around the lake, and she keeps close contact with her deputy, medicine cats, mediator, and messenger. For personal info, she's 36 moons old, a trans lesbian, and is on her 3rd life. She's single with no kits. She has one brother as a living relative. She's had 2 deputies in her leadership.

Orchidstar: Leader of ThunderClan. The oldest leader, Orchidstar is very level-headed and fair. She is able to assess situations from a logical standpoint and see both sides of an argument, and then come to a decisive conclusion easily. Despite her small stature, she is a commanding presence in her Clan and earns respect from her clanmates through being incredibly compassionate and understanding. She had a rocky beginning as a leader, when she was too stubborn to really provide for the needs of her Clan, but over the years she's become more well-rounded and better at listening. She chose her deputy based on his skills in battle and hunting and his young age. Some of her more skeptical clanmates speculate that it's because he's her son, but if asked, she would vehemently deny this. For personal information, Orchidstar is 84 moons, cishet, and on her 7th life. She had one mate who she'd been with for a long time and five kits from two separate litters. She has her five kits as living relatives. She's had 6 deputies in her leadership.

Dandelionstar: Leader of SkyClan. Dandelionstar is the youngest leader and therefore the least experienced. She honestly became leader by accident after both the previous leader and deputy passed away and her Clan needed someone to take the role. She's a bit insecure and a pushover, very easy to sway in an argument. She doesn't like to make others angry, so she will normally agree with what others say, and is pretty indecisive. Beneath all this, though, she's an incredibly kind cat who just wants to do the best she can for her Clan. Dandelionstar chose her deputy because she was her sister, someone who she knew well and who could act as a decisive force for her. For personal information, Dandelionstar is 24 moons, pan and cis, and on her 1st life. She is single with no kits. Her living relatives are her mother, sister, and brother. She's had 1 deputy in her leadership.

Ospreystar: Leader of RiverClan. He's a stern leader who makes room for no nonsense. Just like Amberstar, he won't hesitate to punish wrongdoing and weed out the dangerous members in his Clan. He's probably the leader who's done the most severe punishments, exiling or demoting any cat who poses a threat to the well-being of his Clan. Ospreystar is a reserved leader who prefers to keep his personal affairs just that, personal. He's not great at keeping up relationships due to his reclusive nature, but those around him can help him to come out of his shell when needed. He chose his deputy because she was a good friend of his and a very charismatic cat, someone who could be the spokesperson for him. For personal information, Ospreystar is 40 moons, cishet, and on his 2nd life. He has one mate and one kit; his mate is also expecting. For living relatives he has his mother, sister, nieces and nephews, mate, and son. He's had 2 deputies in his leadership.

Rumblestar: Leader of ShadowClan. Rumblestar is exactly as his name suggests, a very rough-and-tumble tom. Don't let his battered appearance fool you, though, he's actually a pretty cool cat. Rumblestar leads as best as he can, but sometimes his personal benefit can get in the way. He has a love for drama and laughs, and is known to let some inter-clan conflicts continue despite them being easily solvable. While he was very hot-headed and abbrasive in his youth, Rumblestar has cooled down as he got older. His love for collecting scars remains, however, and he'll still try to fight a hawk or two to gain another one. This ties in to his passion for telling stories, often calling meetings just to regail his clanmates with the tales behind his scars. The older warriors and elders of the Clan see him as irresponsible and arrogant, but he really doesn't care what they think. He chose his deputy because he liked his atitude towards clan life and because he needed a fresh new face for his deputy. For personal information, Rumblestar is 52 moons, bi and cis, and on his fifth life. He has had 5 mates and no kits. His living relatives are his sister and nephew. He's had 3 deputies in his leadership.

There's many things going on during this movie and some of them are from Saturday night live and he's made a few jokes but they are actually happening and other genres going on in New York City the whole time is only in a few days or less because of Sims i p o tomorrow a lot of people think that it's tomorrow night and we agree that he goes out and he gets injured because he was that would be paying the following day he goes out and gets injured because he's fighting to find out who this the person is no is it New York City trying to figure it out it becomes bane afterwards and he falls when he does something stupid because he's injured and ignites a football arena what you kind of need because they've got too much stuff up above and it's a pretty good pulse and the audience didn't really like it and the same football arena is in the movie Oblivion and it's exactly the one that was there in the middle of it was blown out completely and it's completely irradiated Tom Cruise has died from that dose that's why he blew himself up he knew he was dead even though a lot of people can you transport the brain into a clone so it goes you juice up and transport the brain those are you just a relation helps I know is I O well you know you should help for it but so this is okay just doing this I don't know Chuck Norris I want that ass hold it keeps on saying he's doing nothing and took all my business ideas Stars line up in the air so we're going to go ahead and use this idea he has to sue Mack and take everything he has and it's working Mack is falling apart all this Max are coming down and getting beat up everybody thinks he has everything cuz they're saying it out loud mumbling threats.

Tonight's ravena will go up there because he cannot resist the thought of fighting Hera in an RC Arena.
