From my imagination. I’m now taking time off till the end of the year … which is only about two weeks away (!) to sit back, breathe and review. The goal for next year is to focus on style, to figure out what I’d like to concentrate on, a difficult proposition as I enjoy painting in so many different ways. But there’s a danger of turning into a jack-of-all trades, and I’d like to be able to concentrate on one distinctive way of expressing myself creatively in order to dig deeper, to figure out exactly where I want to go and why. Focus. These messy, inky, joyful yet slightly dark, flowers are a reminder that there’s beauty in imperfection, and that’s one of the themes I’d like to explore further this coming year: as well as to be daring, to find the courage, to embrace the shadow within and the fears that prevent me/us from truly being whole. It’s coming to that time of the year when I slow down, pause, and review, before looking ahead and planning for a new journey into the unknown.
