Im Jaebeom - Angst
Tumblr media
Y/N doesn't want a relationship, especially not with an idol. Jaebeom only wants her.
Love after heartbreak and all the things that fall in between.
Angst, Cheating, Fluff, Smut
A new series inspired by lyrics, each chapter has a specific song that goes with it.
Chapter 1: Nice To Meet Ya
Chapter 2: Blood In The Cut
Chapter 3: Liability
Chapter 4:
Chapter 5: Only Love Can Hurt Like This
Chapter 4: That's Just The Way You Make Me Feel
You keep on asking me the same questions (why?)
And second guessing all my intentions
You've got the answers to my confessions
You know I love it, so please don't stop it
So real, so good, so fuckin' real
The way you make me feel Janel Monae.
Tumblr media
He knew he fucked up and he didn't know what to do about it. He'd finally made some headway and now he was back to square one.
So, the next day he was back. Standing in front of your counter he held out a cup of Hotteok.
Before he could speak you jumped in, "See JB, the way this whole retail thing works is, you pick something you want that I'm selling, then give me money for it. Nowhere in the scenario do you bring me random shit just because."
Your eyes were red, he felt terrible, after only 2 conversations he'd already managed to hurt you.
"It's not random shit, it's an apology. I'm sorry I drew attention to you last night." he paused, "you don't deserve to be attacked like that."
You turned away trying to gain your composure, "The one thing I've learned through all this is to never apologize for showing your feelings. When you do, you're apologizing for the truth."
You looked back, "I've never apologized for loving Yoongi, because it was real whether people want to believe it or not."
You sighed, "You didn't do anything wrong. You didn't put the target on my back JB it's been there a while, I'm just sad because now you've got one too."
His heart sank when he realized that you weren't choosing loneliness to protect yourself, you were keeping your distance so he wouldn't get dragged into it.
He placed his large hand over yours as it lay on the counter. "There's only one thing that's going to make me walk away from you." He tipped your chin so you were forced to look into his eyes, "Tell me you don't want me here."
The door chimed, you were no longer alone.
"Like I said yesterday, it's bad business for me to chase away customers, stay as long as you want."
He smiled brightly, "That's not a no."
Taking the Hotteok from the counter you were still unsure, but he was right, it wasn't a no.
………………………
Standing at the bar in the exact spot you'd met him, you'd hoped he'd be here tonight. You felt like a desperate fool with a schoolgirl crush.
Three days had passed since you'd last seen him and despite your best efforts, you found yourself missing him. You hated the way your heart hurt, of course he'd given up why would this be a surprise?
A hand reached around placing a drink on the bar in front of you. "You look like you could use this, still pining over Min Yoongi?"
"Actually I'm waiting for a friend Minho."
"I could be your friend tonight Y/N. I guarantee I can get you to stop thinking about him," he grabbed your ass.
"No thanks, I don't think 5 minutes in your bed will change my world."
He grabbed the drink back, "No wonder he cheated on you, you're such a bitch."
Dumb, Dumb, Dumb...you'd let your guard down and everything was feeling all too personal. Shooting back the last of your Soju you grabbed your jacket and made for the exit.
"You're not leaving when I just got here?"
Your traitorous heart fluttered, "I didn't know I was supposed to be waiting."
His grin got bigger, "Are you mad because maybe you actually missed me a little?"
Mad, sad, who could tell them apart anymore?
"Yeah, actually I am and I'm livid with myself for it."
He put his hand on your waist, "Hey, I'm sorry, I got called for re shoots."
His thumb rubbed over your hip soothingly, "I only have your work number...I just got back and I was hoping you'd be here"
A voice shouted from across the bar "Don't waste your time on that one JB, come sit with us"
You closed your eyes trying to keep the tears at bay, "You heard the man. I'm leaving anyway, I guess I'll see ya around."
Shooting a look at Minho he ran out the door to catch up with you.
Standing at the curb waiting for a cab he reached his hand out to you. "I wanted to be with you tonight, and I'm pretty sure you wanted to be with me. It's still early, let's go somewhere okay, can we still do that?"
Placing your hand in his, "Only if we're alone...and there's alcohol."
He smiled victorious, "I think I know a place."
Walking up the crowded street you felt better, anonymous. He kept squeezing your hand making sure you hadn't slipped away.
"Right here," he stopped in front of a pink neon lit Karaoke Bar.
"Karaoke? I think one of us has an extremely unfair advantage JB."
"Don't worry I'll let you win."
Stepping closer to him you kissed his cheek, "Why are you being so nice to me JB?"
"Y/N, why do you keep questioning my motives?"
His hand ran up your arm, "I hate that you've been mistreated for so long that you don't realize what normal behavior is."
He held the door open for you, "How's a private room and bottle service sound?"
................................
You consumed copious amounts of Grey Goose as you took turns performing for one another. What you lacked in vocal talent you made up for in your ability to mimic choreography.
"I think I've lost my voice," you shouted after your efforts to sing Itzy's Wannabe.
"I'm going to have to tell JYP about you, maybe with some training you can debut next year and come on tour with us," he laughed.
He queued up the next song, "Come here, I want to dance with you."
You moved into his waiting arms and allowed yourself to surrender to his pursuits. His song came on and you laughed, "it's so cheesy Jaebeom-ah!"
He sang anyway,
Our love will lead the way for us
If the road ahead is not so easy
Like a guiding star
I'll be there for you if you should need me
You don't have to change a thing
I love you just the way you are
You let your head rest on his chest, his heartbeat was louder, more important than the words he was singing.
Glad he was holding you up, you felt a little drunk, a little in love and for once, you weren't going to stop yourself.
He kissed the top of your head and held on a little tighter, "So does this mean you'll finally give me your number?"
You looked up at him nodding, locking eyes he moved slowly closer, lips almost touching ...until his phone went off.
He frowned, "Fuck, it's management. Sorry I've got to check in. Just stay in my arms ok?"
"You're going to read texts over my shoulder? How romantic," you jibed, but you didn't break away.
JYP: Dispatch has reached out to us for comment regarding a new dating scandal. They were tipped off that you were with Y/N at Cakeshop Night Club tonight and now they are outside of the Karaoke bar waiting for photos. We need to discuss your intentions immediately. A car will pick you up in 15 mins, wait inside for security. Do not leave the building together as it is still controllable speculation.
You could feel his body react to what he was reading, deep breaths, tensed muscles and finally pulling you in tightly. "What is it J?"
"I've got to get you out of here, the press are outside"
He handed you his phone, "add your number."
But JYPs text was still open and you saw every word.
You keyed in your info and switched it off before handing it back.
You breathed deep, "You know, sneaking in and out of buildings is my specialty," You put your hand over his heart and gave a sad smile.
"Don't worry about me. I'm sure there's a back entrance, I'll just grab a cab home. If you go out the front they'll be too busy taking photos of you, they'll never notice me."
You tried to sound confident and uncaring so he'd do what was best but Jaebeom had his own plan.
"Get your stuff, we're going out the front together."
He pulled your hand through the bar and out the front door. Lights flashed as they took their photos for tomorrow's headlines.
Hailing a cab he leaned over and kissed your lips, "I'm going to call you as soon as I can okay?"
You weren't okay, your first kiss would be your last kiss. Your smile hid the stabbing pain in your heart, you knew it was over before it had started.
"Jaebeom," you called him back after he closed the car door behind you, "It's been a really great time."
He smiled and waved.
Getting into the companies blacked out Suburban he was happy, he was going to stand his ground.
He'd felt bad that your first kiss had been under these circumstances so he opened his phone to text you a quick apology.
Searching the contacts  he found your entry, "I'm sorry" with random numbers underneath.

If they were to make a modern day friends who would you cast and y?
Okay, I’m going to assume we’re going to go with character archetypes from the originals, just to make this make a little more sense :)
Joey: John Boyega
So, first off, I would want literally everything about Joey to be the same except he’s gay. I want that womanizing trope normally associated with Joey Tribbiani and Barney Stinson, but on a gay man. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Rachel, that would perpetuate harmful stereotypes of gay men being freewheeling spreaders of AIDs who have never heard of monogamy! Which I know because I thought about that too. However, I will remind myself that it’s not the 90s. I also think that it’s time we break free of archetypical gay characters and paint gay people as we are-- full humans, of whom there are many different types. Joey is an incredibly caring friend, a lover of food, and a really great smooth talker. These are all traits that a gay man could have, and I think John Boyega has excellent comedy chops.
Monica: Anna Kendrick
I really love Monica-- she’s grown on me as I got older-- and, having recently read Anna Kendrick’s autobiography, I couldn’t help but notice the similarities. So, like, Anna is also really neurotic. She actually has a lot of theatre person energy, which Monica has, but Anna’s ability to portray many different types of women-- the “cool girl” is one of her specialties-- is something I think would be an enormous coo to Monica. You see, those characters that Anna plays really frequently? Monica could encompass all of them. I genuinely think all of them could fit into a Monica-like character. She’s scrappy as fuck (people call her scrappy on the show all the time) and I could see Anna utilizing both the “i can’t do it i don’t care” thing plus some optimism, depending on where the character is in the series. Plus, I love getting to see her comedy chops and modern day humor is waaaay drier.
Phoebe: Janelle Monae
Admittedly, Phoebe is the one that I struggled with the most. She’s also my least favorite character of the six, so that’s probably why. But this weekend I saw Moonlight for the first time, and everytime Janelle Monae was on screen, she captivated me. I couldn’t look away from her. I would want her dialogue to be written in the same way Monae’s was in the movie. I would want it to be obvious that she came from the projects (you’ll remember that Phoebe was homeless at one point; I think maybe it might be important to show some people a more realistic representation of that type of disadvantaged situation), but she is a fully functioning and happy adult who isn’t engaged with drugs. I would love the fact that, throughout the series, Phoebe’s happiness doesn’t really come from men, it becomes with her weird, quirky, lovable self, and I think Monae would be able to portray that youthful joy but also wise maturity that Phoebe encompasses. Plus, she sings, so the music gag would be hilarious.
Chandler: Dylan O’Brien.
This literally needs no explanation.
Ross: Freddie Highmore
“Let’s see, who is the whitest man I can think of?” -Me, four minutes ago. I did some google searching but also realized that, if I were to rewrite Friends, I would do Ross in a different way. I started looking for a plain, average white male who I find to be likeable, and I came up with Freddie Highmore because I had a crush on him when I was little. ANYWAYS. I definitely think he encompasses that “awkward nerd who isn’t unattractive but isn’t particularly attractive” thing that Ross needs to have. I think I might shove him into glasses and make him a try-hard intellectual. He can still have the boring career that he’s super passionate about (actually, that’s one of the good things about Ross) but he would try really hard to fit into that intellectual stereotype. The other thing is that I would change the way Ross is written so that he is a more receptive character. I think the writers genuinely intended for him to be “well-meaning” and “likable,” but that it doesn’t translate in modern times. With that in mind, I would use his cluelessness as an opportunity to help viewers say how to educate people on their lack of knowledge on social issues in a productive way, and then use Ross as an opportunity to show how to receive that education (plus the clapbacks) and internalize them in ways that are also productive.
Rachel: Karen David
This is just really selfish because I adore Karen David and have since Galavant. I just love her and think she could play an amazing Rachel. Also I would want her to be bisexual and get frustrated at her job because she wants to bang the models. I actually kinda love the idea of Rachel running away from a wedding to a man she doesn’t love and after she spent her whole life being daddy’s little girl she’s just like “ALSO I WANT TO DATE GIRLS” and then she just goes out and does it because she’s hot and confident. She could also jam with Phoebe because Karen David has the voice of a goddamn angel.
And now that I have finished this it occurs to me that this is one of only shows on television with three blatantly Jewish characters (Ross, Monica, Rachel) and my silly self erased my own representation.
ANYHOO other than that I really like this :)

Before the Fame
Chapter 2
It was Sunday afternoon, Janelle had just come from church and was trying to get out of those awful stockings. ‘Why do Southerners do this to themselves again?’ She thought to herself. Church had been an ongoing aspect of her life since she was a child. Her family was the typical Southern Baptist. Another draw to Boston College was despite it being primarily composed of Catholic followers, it did not press any of its students to follow the Catholic way, however they did include several classes and activities that promoted meditation, learning about different religions, and overall spiritual well being. Her 10th grade teacher was the first to tell her about Boston College. Mr. Hamil was a biology teacher at her old high school who had sold her on going to Boston College. He was the most brilliant person she had ever met and by far the kindest. He had helped to secure her an internship as a physical therapist aid her senior year of high school, which only solidified her desire to do physical therapy. But the most wonderful thing him and his wife did was provide support during her mother’s passing. To say that she would have been lost was an understatement. Her world was rocked, her father was barely able to keep functioning enough to ensure her and Brian had food on the table. Janelle always believed good a person doing even the smallest of good in the world could transform a life, and the Hamils had proved just that.
Janelle changed into something more comfortable and then decided to get to the Student Union for a bit. She knew it was practically a ghost town today, so it would be easy to get in and out. When she reached the door the to union, she wasn’t paying attention so she bumped into someone. “Oh, I’m sorry!” she said looking up from her phone. “Hey, it’s fine, Janelle, right?” said the voice. She looked up to find that she had ran into her group mate. “Yeah, that’s it. I’m sorry, my dad was writing me so I wasn’t paying attention. By the way, congrats on the win yesterday,” she said as they moved to the side to clear the door way. “Thanks, it is always nice to get a win over Notre Dame. So you came to the game yesterday?” he inquired. “Well not exactly, my roommate seems to be a big fan and she was going on about it yesterday. I’m not big on football, but I hear you guys are beasting it this year, so kudos to you,” she said giving him a small smile. “Well maybe one day, I can change your mind about coming to see a game. It is really worth it to catch at least one during your time here,” he shared. Before either one could say another word, one of Luke’s fellow teammates, or at least see assumed, came up and interrupted their conversation. “Hey man, I’m ready! Sorry about that,” he said and then looked toward Janelle. “Well hello chocolate goddess, I am Kasim. It is nice to be in your presence,” he said clearly trying to flirt. Janelle gave a small blush and laughed. “Hi, Kasim, I’m Janelle, nice to meet you,” she said acknowledging him. “Man, Luke you didn’t tell me you hung around beautiful women like this,” he said still looking at Janelle like she was the Mona Lisa. Janelle snuck a glance at Luke’s face and his happy countenance appeared to be a wall of indifference now. “Well we only just recently got to know each other. He is my group member for one of my classes. I’m sorry to cut this short, but I really do have to go. Nice to meet you Kasim, and Luke I will see you in class tomorrow,” she said ending the conversation and leaving to grab her food inside the union. Janelle had to admit it is always flattering to have guys give her compliments and try to ask her out, but she just wanted to take a break from it for awhile. Her 11th grade year, she was in a relationship with a guy who turned out to be a complete jerk, but he was able to play on her open wound of needing to have someone there. It took six months before she could finally see the light and walk away, but she never wanted to experience that again, so better safe than sorry.
“Hey, Janelle!” she heard from across the Union. That could only be one person, because she only has the volume of loud or louder.
“Hey Trina, what’s up?” she asked waiting to hear the latest and greatest from the CNN master of Boston College. Don’t get it wrong, Trina was a great person, but sometimes she was a lot to handle all at once.
“Girl, I am glad I caught you. They having the mid-semester celebration next week at Jarrell’s house. I really don’t want to go on my own,” she said, though Janelle knew Trina had tons of friends.
Janelle huffed in annoyance.
“Look, I know you are not a party girl, but I don’t think it would hurt to show your face for at least an hour or two.” Trina pleaded. She reached in her pocket and pulled out a decked out invitation.
“From what I have heard from upper classmen, Jarrell always has the best party of the year,” she shared in excitement.
Janelle gave a sigh, it really wouldn’t hurt to check it out, as this would probably be the ONLY party she attends this semester or better yet this year.
“Alright, alright, I’ll go. I will meet up with you there just in case I get bored early. You better be glad we cool, because you know this isn’t my thing,” Janelle said begrudgingly.
“Awesome! Girl, we are going to have so much fun. I can’t wait. Well, see you soon girl!” Trina said and made her way off with an excited squeal.
Man, I just wanted to get food and get back to the room. How in the world do I keep running into folks? Janelle thought quietly to herself.
She quickly booked it to her dorm room in order to avoid any more stops. Today was always her day to get in some studying and finish up some extra notes before the school week began. She entered her dorm room somewhat relieved that she didn’t have any more interruptions, before she heard the squeal of her roommate, who jumped out of the bathroom.
“Oh, I’m sorry Janelle, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Callie said apologetically.
Janelle took a deep breath to calm herself, “It’s fine, this is your room too, I’m just not used to you being here at this time.”
Janelle walked over to her side of the dorm room and asked curiously, “So why are you here this early?”
“Trying to get rid of me already, Janelle?” Callie said with a playful tone.
“No, I’m just curious. Plus, you are beaming and I feel like you really want to tell me something with the way you are bouncing around the room.”
“You really are good at reading people. I’m just excited because Mark Herzlich asked me on a date today,” she said giving her signature excited squeal.
“Umm so who is this guy? Should I know him or have you introduced me to him?” Janelle asked trying to figure out where she has heard that name.
Callie looked at Janelle in disbelief. “If I didn’t know you, I would seriously think you lived under a rock Janelle! He is one of the football players, guaranteed to enter the NFL draft this year, plus he is dreamy. I can’t believe you never heard of him,” she said. Callie then grabbed her phone and searched for a moment through her phone, then she turned it to show Janelle a picture of Mark.
“Oh, well he is nice looking. I really can’t say I have seen his face on campus, but congrats to you girl. How did you even meet him?” Janelle asked.
“Well we got a chance to go to one of the after parties last night, which was why I was so late getting in. He was there and it was like magic, he was drawn to me and I was drawn to him. He talked with me the whole time I was there,” she said beaming as she told her story.
Janelle just nodded her head. Well either he is actually interested or he sees fresh meat before he jumps ship. She thought to herself. Of course she would not ruin her friend’s moment, but she hoped this guy would be decent to Callie.
“Good for you girl. Where are y’all going for your date?”
“Umm not sure yet, but he is supposed to text me later today so we can plan something for this upcoming weekend,” she relayed with a smile.
“Alright, well I definitely want to hear how that turns out for you.” Janelle said as she went over to grab her food and started getting some books out to start studying.
Callie hadn’t stayed long, she was out the door about 15 minutes later, probably visiting Beth or one of her other friends to gush about with her story.
Janelle plugged in her headphones and let the tunes of Spotify put her in the mood to learn about molecular structure and bacteria.

AMC Best Picture Film Showcase
Today I went with my mom to go see Moonlight, Lion, and Hacksaw Ridge at one of the local AMC theaters in Springfield, IL. It was part 2 of their film showcase that started last weekend. I wasn’t able to go last weekend, and didn’t have the desire to sit through any more movies after Hacksaw Ridge today.
Moonlight:
Directed by- Barry Jenkins
Starring- Trevante Rhodes, Andre Holland, Janelle Monae, Ashton Sanders, Jharrel Jerome, Naomie Harris, and Mahershala Ali
Moonlight is a very strong movie about a young black man battling against his sexuality, his class, his race, and his community. Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders, and Trevante Rhodes bring to life the story of Chiron and the different obstacles he has to overcome through three periods in his life. In each act Chiron develops a bond with another male character, the first two resulting in more pain and anguish while the third is left up to imagination. Mahershala Ali’s performance, as well as Janelle Monae and Naomie Harris, were first class in both execution and construction. The only element that was strongly lacking was the ending. A climatic movie that just suddenly ends softly and without any real conclusions. Chiron is a sympathetic hero, we know from the beginning that he’ll be victimized somehow but the manipulative and terrible ways still shock us. His retribution and growth is rewarding to see, even if his life as an adult isn’t the one you’d pick for your own kids for the future.
Rating - 7.5/10... I’m not a huge fan of time jumps in movies, too many questions and more imagination that story telling. The ending also was disappointing. But the cast, plot, cinematography and soundtrack really leave a satisfied taste after watching.
Lion:
Directed by - Garth Davis
Starring- Dev Patel, Rooney Mara, Nicole Kidman, David Wenham, Priyanka Bose, and Sunny Pawar
Sunny Pawar and Dev Patel each play a version of Saroo Brierley, as a young boy and as an adult. The all too real story of how a young Indian boy gets lost from his family and winds up alone in a large city only to be then adopted to a family a continent and ocean away is captivating, and at times, heart breaking. Saroo finds love in his new home but the love of his family beckons him home, and a quest to track down the small village where he’s from drives him to the brink of insanity. At times the movie feels like a warm tale that will just continue to produce smiles, and then it slowly changes into a story you’re praying will work itself out. The story has intermittent flashbacks of his family that bring a real sense of being alone, and the heart warming ending really brings the smiles. Rooney Mara and Nicole Kidman do outstanding work, and Dev Patel delivered an award winning performance. The movie is very strong, but some of it’s flaws are really hard to sit through. At one point while searching google earth he zooms in on a pixelated image of India, which is then full screened for the movie. The pixellated image, and the sporadic movement of the screen as he scans the map, is nauseating. Just before this sequence Saroo starts becoming overwhelmed with memories of his childhood and starts acting really strange to his family. However real it may be to react like that, the slow transformation of the character is really difficult to sit in a movie theater through.
Rating - 7/10...At one point while watching I remember thinking I can’t wait for this to be over. But it rebounds and makes up for the low points in the movie with great acting and a true sense of reward.
Hacksaw Ridge:
Directed by- Mel Gibson
Starring- Andrew Garfield, Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Hugo Weaving, Teresa Palmer, and Rachel Griffiths
I’ll be honest. When I first heard that Mel Gibson was directing a war movie about a soldier who won’t hold a gun...I laughed. And then it was gonna be the guy who had just recently left the Spider-man series as the main character? But...then I saw the trailer. When I heard it would be one of the movies being shown I was sold on going. Andrew Garfield proves his worth as an actor in this film. At so many points I actually believed that Garfield was Doss, by his actions and by how he talked. The story of Desmond Doss is fantastic in and of itself, but the representation of his story by Garfield is one of the best in the last decade. Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, and Luke Bracey provide a great supporting cast that solidifies the weight of which Doss was under both during boot camp but also during battle. Hugo Weaving and Rachel Griffiths play a very convincing pre-WW2 American family in the south, but all I see when I think Hugo Weaving is Elrond talking about taking the ring to Mordor, which now that I think about it makes this movie even better. This wasn’t the first time I was surprised by Teresa Palmer, Warm Bodies was one of the most enjoyable movies to watch in theaters and she showed her talent then. Palmer’s portrayal of Doss’ wife was outstanding and really added to the movie. The first half of the movie moves really slow, and at times, gets very predictable. After having time to think about the movie, I realize the things that aggravated me about the film were really just the tales of what actually happened. The unbelievably cruel treatment by other soldiers is a surreal contrast to the normally respectably painted WW2 soldiers we most often see.
Rating - 8.5/10...I debated giving it a 9 but I think an 8.5 works just as well. This is an amazing movie and frankly one of the most heroic tales in movies, and it’s (for the most part) true! A few scenes that seem to be paced wrong and the boot camp chapter seemed far too long. I recommend everyone to go see it!
So....I found out they’ve been doing these every year right before the Oscars for about 5 or 6 years now. And no one told me. I’m disappointed in missing all of the movies I could have been watching on a big screen! But the experience was incredible. A poster, a small book with details about all the movies (from both days), as well as food and drinks. I’m not saying they should do it every weekend, but AMC has the right idea with these movie showcases. I’d do this one a month if I could. Also, all three of these movies are phenomenal. I didn’t get to see Hidden Figures, Arrival, Manchester by the Sea, La La Land, Fences, or Hell or High Water but with how good these three were I can imagine how good the others will be.
