MIDDLE EARTH 30 Day Challenge Day 14 Favorite Outfit
So, I'll say right off the bat that I don't have a favorite outfit. I have always, always, always loved the costumes in these movies! I really like pretty much all of them and I especially love how different they are! So, I guess I'll just take them a few at a time.
The Hobbit outfits have a really "handmade" charm to them. Kind of like I mentioned in my post on why I love the Shire, there is just a lovely 'simplistic' style to them that I utterly adore. It really fits and represents the life they came from and it makes an awesome contrast when they return as warriors of Gondor!

Speaking of which, I love the armor of the Men as well. There is definitely some style differences between Gondor and Rohan but the overall look of it is awesome. I remember they stated that they actually made real armor so that actors would look weighted down and the actors for both Aragorn and Boromir would walk for hours in costume to give it a 'travelled' look. All of this makes for a very realistic look.

Elves are really intriguing because of just how elegant they look, whether it be in their regular clothes or armor. Rivendell elves and Lothlorien elves certainly have a more refined appearance but given what we know about Mirkwood elves, that seems to fit. It seems that all elves have a style in their armor though; they all seem to resemble leaves which does make for a really interesting overall look.

Dwarves. Now, given my love of the Dwarves, I like how they are similar to the armor of Men but they seem to have more sharp angles to their armor as opposed to the more rounded style.

What I noticed the most though was that there was a definite difference between the style of Thorin and his nephews and Bifur, Bombur and Bifur...which makes sense, given the latter three were supposed to be commoners.

There is also a definite similarity between designs for Thorin and his nephews, which apparently was supposed to indicate their royal status as the line of Durin.

I love details like this. I've always had a love for medieval style attire and the additional care put into all of these really is awesome.
