hi becks pls do a tv show rec post
Thanks for asking bub, sorry it took me literal weeks to finish it! There are a lot here so just the first ten are above the cut since you wanted my all time faves rather than current shows, these are a mix of what’s important in my heart for tv:
Jane the Virgin: Gina my love, leading up a wonderful cast! This show is my biggest rec, it makes my heart so full
Gilmore Girls: My lifelong fave, I’ve been watching this show for 14 years and I’ve never found a show as important to me
The Good Place: This show was meant to just be a fun light watch and now it’s something I eagerly wait for every week because it’s gotten so damn interesting
The Bold Type: I love these girls so much, it’s the fun group of pals show that I’ve been looking for with the added mix of the Kat sexuality/Kadena storyline
Breaking Bad: This is still the best show I’ve ever watched tbh, I think about it constantly and I just started another rewatch of it! I hated it at first but friends got me to stick with it and it was worth every second in the end
Parks and Rec: One of the best light comedies out there, basically every episode is gold and something you can put on at any time and enjoy
Crazy Ex Girlfriend: Everyone who talks to me a lot knows that I had the weirdest relationship with this show, I hated everything it’s made up of but was fascinated! Now I’m just completely hooked and it’s overwhelming
Lost: This show is a mess and I still love it in my heart, it started my life of analysing tv shows intensely
Big Little Lies: This was prob my show of the year, obviously the subject matter isn’t for everyone but it’s great
Black Mirror: Bleak and dark and so many episodes are things that have stuck with me for years
The Office: I mean we’ve all seen this right? You all get it
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Is there a lot of shit to do with this show? Absolutely but it was also a huge part of me falling in love with tv so here we are
Grey’s Anatomy: Why am I still watching this after 14 years? I have no idea but I’ve watched it every week of those years and still going strong so here we are
Broad City: It disappointed me a bit this season but I think the spark is back in the last couple of eps, the chemistry between Ilana and Abbi is gold
Orange Is the New Black: Has turned to shit in a lot of ways but I’m still in it for a bunch of the characters, even if I expect they might fuck them over
Last Week Tonight: I’ve been following John Oliver for years so I was incredibly happy when he got this show and it’s still one I watch as soon as I possibly can after it’s come out
Scandal: It’s a terrible over the top show in so many ways, especially now but I’d die for Kerry Washington and I know I’ll watch it as long as it’s on
Mindhunter: It wasn’t everything I wanted it to be but still an incredible show and one of my fave directors so I love the style
Chef’s Table: I’m all about food shows in general but I’m so completely here for the montages of food they do at the end of this show
American Crime Story: I thought the OJ series was done extremely well and I’m waiting in anticipation for their take on the other stories they have coming up
UnREAL: This is so trashy but also v well done, I absolutely love this show bc the fake behind the scenes concept speaks to me and I can’t wait for it to be back
New Girl: This is such a comfort show for me, I’m okay that it’s ending but I’ve really loved it over the years
Black-ish: Another fab sitcom, I always need a few comedies in my life
The Handmaid’s Tale: This show is ofc slightly terrifying but such a fantastic adaptation of the book
How to Get Away With Murder: It’s lost the magic now but what a great show it was in the beginning
Humans: I’m so into any sort of dystopia type of tech stuff so this show was right up my alley
Master of None: If you watch nothing else, please just watch the Thanksgiving episode because it makes my heart feel so much
Please Like Me: I just finished a rewatch of this and it’s still such a great gay show to have on, a bit heavy for me at times but great show
Santa Clarita Diet: I really expected to hate this but I actually really loved it and am looking forward to more, becks enjoying an odd humour zombie comedy who saw that coming
Pushing Daisies: This show was weird and both sunny and dark at the same time, it’ll have a place in my heart forever
The Good Wife: One of the only shows I watched week to week up to the very end, my kind of show
