✦ angel reyes doesn't have many firsts left -- not afraid to try new things, this man has tried nearly everything under the sun

✧ so, when you're standing in the middle of the aisle--his arms around your waist, peeking over your shoulder at the body scrub in your hands--and he asks "what's that do?" you can't help but get an idea

✦ "you wanna find out?"

✧ your question leaves him silent--it's a question no one's ever asked him before

✦ "because I'm gonna use it friday, after work. you can do it with me then"

✧ you glance over your shoulder over at him to find angel silently considering the proposal

✦ "come on, angel. it'll fun and relaxing. we can stay in, watch a movie when we're done"

✧ his eyes drop to the jar in your head, his brow arches as he nods towards the shelf of bath products

✦ "as long as I get to pick what we use" he counters as you give him a triumphant smile

✧ his head is spinning as he tries to figure out how there are so many products--that all do something different

✦ get's distracted by the bath bombs

✧ wide eyes, as he holds up a galaxy bomb -- "babe, check this one out"

✦ drops entirely too many items into the basket

✧ "...options are good," he nods, satisfied with his array, as you ring up at the self check-out. "...we can always use the others later on..."

✦ when friday evening rolls around, angel is on his bike and ready to leave the second after bishop's gavel lands

✧ "where you going?" gilly asks, shoulders falling as angel declines the beer he offers on his way to the door

✦ "sorry, bro. date night."

✧ after your shopping adventure, you are smart enough to present angel with a number of limited options

✦ he picks the candle he wants you to burn

✧ doesn't even pick one of the fifty bath bombs he'd tossed into the basket

✦ wants to try out the foaming lavender bubble bath--because bubbles

✧ pours entirely too much into the running water

✦ adds a little extra, even when you tell him that's enough--just take the bottle away, please

✧ objects when you take his beer back to the fridge

✦ expect eye rolls when you return with your favorite bottle of wine and two glasses. "...trust the process, Reyes," you giggle

✧ "trust the process" he mocks...only to be followed up with "--hey, this is pretty good--"

✦ down to try everything -- is undressed and in the water by the time you're done picking a playlist

✧ curious af--tries to read every bottle you use

✦ nods his head every time you explain what you're using a product for -- "this will help you relax" --"this will help moisturize your skin, I swear its gonna make your skin so soft"--"this is going to help clean out your pores"

✧ sniffs the contents of the jar after untwisting the lid of the face mask

✦ “--shit--" he shudders as you apply the first stroke of clay to his forehead. "--it's cold--"

✧ his eyes on your smile. you sit on his lap, his hands tracing your hips as you carefully brush a thin layer across his skin. “how long do i keep it on?”

✦ “until it’s fully dry--which means you can’t touch it, Angel--”

✧ sucks his teeth as the brush trails down the bridge of his nose. “i know--I’m not.”

✦ thinks about touching his cheek--to see how it feels--as you finish

✧ is silent, brow furrowed in concentration as he applies your mask for you

✦ no hesitation as you ask him to scoot forward so that you can get behind him

✧ literally melts against you, weight resting against your chest as your fingers work your shampoo of choice into his hair

✦ his eyes closed, a silence falling over the room as you take your time massaging his scalp

✧ he's pretty sure you've got superpowers as your fingers massage the body scrub into his skin--hums of approval as your touch rub over his arms, his chest, his back, his shoulders

✦ doesn't realize how much tensions he's got until you're done and he swears he feels ten tons lighter

✧ his brow arches as your lips press a soft kiss against his shoulder, your smile pressing against his neck

✦ “is that where we’re headed?” he chuckles as your touch drifts down his chest

✧ "just making sure you’re not falling asleep on me," you giggle as he opens his eyes. "you were so quiet, I couldn’t tell"

✦ "nah, just thinking how we should do this more often"
