ok so eddie has a key to bucks apartment, I think that when Chris is old enough for his own set of keys (whenever that may be), buck gives chris a key to his apartment too, and both keys are the type with designs, and the one to eddie's house has the superman logo on it, and the one to bucks house has dory on it, and he's got a little dinosaur keychain and also a space keychain.

when they give them to him, they do it together and they sit chris down and eddie goes "you're getting older now, and we think it's time that you have your own house key. now it's important that you don't lose it, and don't give it to anyone, okay?" and then eddie hands him the superman key and looks at buck and buck goes "you're also getting a key to my apartment, because you're always welcome there, ok?" and Chris nods and goes "ok" and so buck gives him the dory key. and Chris is like "so what? I'm just supposed to carry around two loose keys? doesn't seem very practical" and eddie laughs (but he's also a little watery eyed bc his little boy is old enough for his own house key :'() and says "no, now we're gonna go to the store and you're gonna pick out a keychain or two to put your keys on" and so Chris is excited, they go to the store and he's browsing the keychains and he sees a brontosaurus keychain and goes "dad, dad, look!!! they've got my favorite dinosaur!!" and eddies like "is that one you want?" and Chris is like "hold on, I haven't seen them all" (he's being very thorough, this is a big deal) and then he sees one of an astronaut riding a whale through space and goes :000000 and so he brings those two keychains to his dad and buck who are standing pressed together, trying not to cry bc chris is just so grown up now, and goes "I want these ones, please" and buck goes "good choices!!" and sniffles a bit before giving chris a high five and eddies sniffling a bit more than buck and nods his head real fast and goes "they're perfect chris" and runs a hand through chris's curls and pays for them, and then helps chris attach them to the keys and when they get home from the store, eddie let's chris unlock the door with his new key
