Songs the Ninjago Fandom is Sleeping on.
Okay so while I do art there's only so much my chronic pain ridden hands can produce and so animatics/animations aren't really in my wheelhouse BUT I have a bunch of ideas and songs that the Ninjago fandom should use + some ideas that yall can totally use (@ me or send them to me though if you do cause I want to see them)
The Songs in question (it's be song-artist btw):
Always Gold-Radical Face: Is literally a perfect song for Wu and Garmadon, like it's literally about two opposite brothers treading wildly different paths like what more could you want
Brutus- The Buttress: Yall please I am begging that someone does something with this song relating to Morro's hatred/jealousy towards Lloyd because this song is absolutely perfect for it! Lines such as "-and if you want I'll call you king but why do I lie awake each night thinking "instead of you it should be me"" and "Please know my actions are not motivated only by envy, I to have a destiny" there are so many more but I'll let yall do the rest of the work (Also you could kinda do it with Wu and Garmadon but ehhhh)
Human Enough- ONR: This could work for multiple of the characters if you ask me but if you ship anyone with Zane or Pixal the song could totally work those two them specifically cause it talks about the singers partner/love interest being "made perfect" and idk we need more Pixal content soooo. Honestly any of the characters that get de-human-ed (for longer than one episode) would do great with this song, like Cole in his ghost arc, Nya after Seabound or Garmadon at like any point in the story. Line examples: "Cause you are made of perfect stars and I was built from broken parts" and "I'm not human enough to love yo right now/ I'm not human enough to cry or cry for" are my personal favorites.
Laplace's Angel (Hurt People? Hurt People!)-Will Wood: Lloyd, Sora or Wu (Specifically the young version of him from the Spinjitzu Brothers books) song about the weight of the world being on your shoulders and not knowing what to do and like the consequences of actions and fun stuff like that
Easier- Crane Wives: Misako, like seriously so many Crane Wives songs work well for this woman because A) her whole attempt to change destiny or B) Her failure as a mother and you know the whole kinda cheating on her husband thing, but this one specifically cause it's a song about leaving someone behind and feeling bad while also not being able to stay. Lyrics such as "If you woke and I was gone from the house that we made our home would it bend yo, break you, overtake your heart?" and "I won't move but I can't stay here. So what the hell am I supposed to do?" and "If I were someone else, would this be easier?"
Stranglers Fig- This could definitely be a Cole (specifically relating to his father and dance backstory) or Kai song, many of the lyrics involve someone being pushed to do more and more and finally snapping because they've done everything they can and there's nothing left but their desire to be better. Lyrics "You bult your kingdom around me, now I'm trapped within your walls and all I want is to be free" and "Climb me to the canopy, higher, higher 'till there's nothing left of me." and "You're the culprit so don't blame me."
And that's all for tonight cause I'm tired BUT I will be posting a couple more of these cause I have a bunch of these floating in my brain and I'd love it if some of these idea's inspire people. I really wish I could do it myself but chronic pain is a bitch so instead I'll throw it out for yall to try out! Anyways I hope you have a great day/night! Peace out!

The Forces Of Destiny — Part I :
"Whispers of The Mirror"
— A fanmade ninjago season —
Tumblr media
Word Count: 944
Warning(s): blood, slight gore
Tumblr media
Yuki Dragonfly was not afraid of silly things, Yet nothing terrorized her more than her own mothers face staring back at her. Her own mothers haunting visage filled Yuki's heart with dread. Her breathing became shallow as she braced herself on the sink, hands shaking, her eyes avoiding contact with the mirror. Beads of cold sweat slowly tracing its path down her delicate neck, blood pounding heavily in her ears, drowning out any dound of reason.
Why?
More importantly, how?
 No amount of training restrained her; she unleashed her pent up turmoil with all the force she could muster, hurling her fist at the mirror, a blood curdling scream piercing the serene morning atmosphere. Glass shattered into dozens of tiny fragments, dancing wildly through the air.
Yuki’s legs gave way, her body dropping to the floor unable to hold up her weight,disregarding the harsh sting of her wounds. Blood dripped rhythmically down her arm, a silent testament to her violence. Trails of crimson painting themselves, a stark contrast to her pale, clammy skin. Her vacant gaze situated itself on the tiled floor, eyes betraying her mind lost in a maze of haunting memories.
The echoes of her scream reverberated.The door swung open with urgency; Jay, agitated by the disturbance of the early morning yelled,
“What the actual hell Yuki?! At this hour?”  Cole’s heavy hand struck him in the back of the head, effectively silencing him.
“Quiet! she’s bleeding” Morro bellowed, his voice cutting the heavy tension in the air as he kneeled next to the girl, beckoning Zane to examine the wounds.
Zane, methodical as always, took her trembling arm, examining the lacerations. Yuki’s hands were crusted with the thin layer of blood, the bloody sheets of cut skin enveloping the shards of glass. Gnarled crevasses accommodating the glass in an embrace, reflecting the bright light of the bathroom.
“Yuki? Yuki, hey are you there? Can you hear us?” Nya waved her hand in front of Yuki’s face, her voice laced with concern, brows coming together. “Come on, snap out of it” she continued, only for the vacant gaze to persist - an eerie emptiness lingered in her eyes.
“Okay everyone, move!” Morro yelled, having had enough of the uselessness of the other ninja; he wrapped his arms around her body, mindful of the injuries “Go find master Wu!” he urged, the rest of the team dispersing to find their mentor.
Morro settled Yuki down, a deafening silence enveloping the infirmary. Her blank face conveying no emotion, like a stone statue. Still, shallow, the shell of the artist. Empty. The room echoed with the silence, her usually animated and vibrant face uncharacteristically still, like a canvas devoid of any spark.
The antiseptic smell hung heavy in the air, burning eyes and lungs, a sharp contrast to the stillness. With meticulous determination, Morro quietly cleaned each gash with careful precision, he glanced up at Yuki, looking at her through strands of black hair.
“Yu-chan” he said, voice barely above a whisper, words hanging like a plea. Yuki persisted with her silence, distant as if lost in another realm. “Talk to me, just like in the past. Please” he urged her, soft words breaking the stillness.
Yet her lips remained sealed like impenetrable fortress, Morro sighed, a silent exchange of understanding resonated between them.
“What happened here?” Master Wu creaked the door open, cutting through the overwhelming silence, his gaze darting between his two pupils.
“We do not know Master.” Zane appeared behind Master Wu, casting a concerned glance at Yuki “She has physical wounds, however there is something more” he finished.
“So she has been silent this entire time?” Master Wu questioned, leaning on his staff, deep in thought. The possibilities ran through his mind, carefully analyzing each one.
“Whatever it was, it must have unsettled her enough to break the mirror.” Morro sighed, standing up from his seat, Yuki’s wounds now bandaged. The group huddled together assessing the reasons for Yuki’s state of shock.
The girl rose from her seat, slipping through the open door. The wooden floors of the Monastery groaned below her, cold beneath her bare feet. She watched the early sunlight dance along the walls as she rushed to her room, the gentle padding of her feet being the only thing to break her away from her ghostly thoughts.
Alone.
That's all she needed right now. She needed to be alone. The jarring thoughts spun in her mind, the silence of her room was louder than any sound she has ever heard. The pure, pristine nothingness draped her in a harsh veil of profound quiet.
Meanwhile on the other side of the door the ninja stood. They fought with a storm of helplessness inside them, their hearts heavy with the weight of awareness in their lack of ability to mend their friend. It was part of the job. As a ninja you cannot help everyone, even your own at times, yet that realization did not stop them from feeling emotions swirling inside the depths of their hearts. Their desire to help clashed with reality, like a dammed river.
“We need to help her; this isn’t like her at all” Kai's thoughts sounded loudly in his head, unaware of his friend's similar thoughts, solely focused on Yuki’s hushed distress.
“I can’t just stand by” Lloyd’s internal voice rang, his thoughts mirroring the collective unease of the ninja.
Maybe their skills were not adequate enough, the unspoken words left a bitter taste of restraint in everyone's mouths, leaving them at the shore of her tsunami of emotions, unable to navigate the currents of the situation. The Monastery sounded with the sound of dissonance of their shared worry.

Morro's Redemption
Morro deserved a redemption so now I'm giving him one. I love playing with morro redemption stories and this is how they generally go though the circumstances differ (I have so many aus help me). I'm calling this my Morro redemption au but note that it's not one consistent story and there will be plot holes and contradictions when I eventually decide to make more. Bonus this is the au where all my headcannons come from/can go
Requested by @dontlookforme00
It starts when he's possessing Lloyd. Being in his head, Morro has a chance to see some of Lloyd's memories and thoughts, and he starts to understand. Lloyd is just a kid. Lloyd never wanted to be the green ninja, nor did he do any work to get that title. He was forced into this role and has been hurt because of it when he never deserved any of this. It's not his fault, and Morro's anger towards him fades.
Just as Morro can see some of what's going on in Lloyd's head, Lloyd gets a peak at Morro's brain too, and he starts to understand. Morro was a kid, alone and scared and unloved. He was desperate to be a good student, to somehow repay the man who showed him kindness. When he was told he could be the green ninja he was filled with hopes and dreams and for the first time someone thought of him as something more than a street rat. He would be the best green ninja possible and make Wu so proud! He would be a great hero and make people safe and happy! When the day came and the weapons didn't react he was crushed. He thought he had done something wrong, that he had failed his dad master, that he really was just a worthless street rat. He had to prove destiny wrong, he just had to. He would do anything to prove that he was the green ninja, that he was a good student and not a waste of Wu's time. He got himself killed like that, desperate to prove himself to the person who loved him most.
*vague plot timeskip* this isn't actually one solid au so basically anything can happen here, heck even day of the departed can still happen. All that matters is for whatever reason he's stuck with the ninja/wu in the monastery.
Morro regrets what he's done and he hates himself for it. He wanted to be a hero, to help people and protect ninjago, how the hell did he end up like this? He still carries the aggression learned in the cursed realm, and tends to hide in his room, avoiding Wu most of all. It takes time but eventually him and Lloyd get to talking (replace with Cole for a slightly different situation). Morro apologizes, and they talk about the green ninja prophecy and how it affected them (see above, trauma bonding woo). There are tears and elemental powers but they end the situation doing a little better.
The other ninja are... wary of Morro. They understand that he's good (ish) now or else he wouldn't be living with them, but with how aggressive and closed off he is they haven't really talked to him or tried to understand him, and Lloyd can only share so much. While most of them are at least tolerant of Morro, Kai fucking hates him. He is pissed that he hurt his baby brother and he won't just ignore his attempt to destroy the world. Kai confronts him and it goes... questionable and definitely not mentally healthy. Essentially Kai is giving Morro shit about it when Morro interest him with a "I know and I hate myself for it" type thing (tempted to actually write this) and there's a whole lot of screaming and crying. They are by no means on good terms but Kai chills out after that (the other ninja either overhear or are told about this later) and from there they can at least start building relationships.
After this point my solid thoughts start to break down and there aren't any more major events but the general idea is Morro slowly getting more comfortable and building relationships with the ninja (and Wu but way slower). I plan another post about just those relationships but at this point his redemption is pretty much complete and my aus start to go different directions.
Morro is avoiding Wu like the plague. He still hates him and is extremely angry but he wants to be good now so he can't just kill him and he dosent know what to do so he just hides from his problems. After quite some time and definitely after the Morro Kai thing Wu confronts him and it goes absolutely horribly. (I've played out this scene in my head a dozen times a dozen different ways but there is a general idea). Morro is so so hurt and practically screams his throat raw yelling at Wu, full on mental breakdown ugly crying. When Morro is done Wu hugs him, and he lets it last for just a moment before punching him and breaking his nose. After this Morro goes back to avoiding Wu but things start to get a little better. Wu is trying to make things better and help Morro heal but it is going very slowly.

That's a relief. Also, what was up with Kai doing arson? Also, can we get some SCP Jaya and Destinyshipping (that's Kai x Morro's ship name, right?) head cannons, please?
To answer your question, Kai was doing arson because he's Kai and he's stupid.
Also... Cole dared him to.
As for Jaya and Destiny -
SCP Jaya Headcanons.
They met while Nya was supervising his transfer to his cell. Jay - whose anomalous properties are basically the same as the shows, except he has a hard time controlling them and can teleport through electric currents - accidentally shocked Nya. While everyone else overreacted, she laughed it off and helped him escape any punishment. After that, she kept visiting him in his cell, and that's how they grew closer.
Once Nya became a D-Class, Jay started breaking out more often so he could see her. They would spend hours in her cell together before he would get caught, and that's when they got together.
When she was a scientist, she would always ask permission before performing any tests on him, and was often fascinated by his anomalous properties. He showed off for her whenever he could.
While they're together, Jay likes making her hair go frizzy. It started as an accident, but now it's something he does to make her laugh.
They were almost banned from being in the same room together when they started flirting, as Nya's reports became a bit... Subjective. The Foundation didn't like that, and they're partially to blame for Nya and Kai being demoted.
SCP Destinyshipping Headcanons
Similar to Jay and Nya, they met while Kai was helping escort Morro to his cell, except Morro wasn't fully physical, and he was unconscious for most of it. Kai was curious right away about the streak in his hair, and decided to run his fingers though Morro's hair because he's an idiot. Morro woke up while it was happening, and slapped Kai's hand away from him. They did not like each other.
Once Kai was demoted, he was immediately sent to Morro's cell for testing. They'd already spent time together while Kai was guarding his cell, so they had established a friendship on their shared sarcasm. Morro felt horrible after learning what had happened to him, and finally showed Kai what he looked like when fully physical. This was the first time they ever truly came face-to-face, and Kai was allowed to touch his streak again.
As time went on, Kai eventually started to develop feelings for Morro, and their connection grew to the point where Morro would break out of his cell just to see him, and the two would cause chaos across the facility. During a particularly nasty containment breach, Morro actually asked Kai out as they were being dragged away from each other, and that's how they became boyfriends.
Morro likes turning into the wind so he can be all around Kai at once, and often messes with his hair, though he prefers being physical because that's when he can actually touch him.
Kai and Morro are the most chaotic boyfriends, even though it gets them both in a lot of trouble. They can't help but sneak out to make out.

you belong to me, my snow white queen, there’s nowhere to run
I’ve been so dead inside I never posted my NNQ fics but, happy belated tenth, Ninjago! the fandom has been wonderful and I’ve made so many friends, seen so much beautiful work, made it through so much because of this silly little plastic ninja show. <3 This fic’s title comes from “Snow White Queen” by Evanescence (yeah I know don’t @ me), if you wanna. set the mood for this one. We’re gonna be following Nya after Skybound for a bit and it won’t be pretty.
Nya remembers it all.
It never happened, of course. That was the condition of Jay’s last wish: that none of it had ever happened in the first place.
Yet she remembers.
It’s good that she does, honestly. She’ll recognize the threat if it ever presents itself again. Plus, the others don’t remember, so they can’t worry themselves about it.
Jay wanted to tell them. “No more secrets,” he said. She’s proud of him, she really is, at least he’s learned from dragging them through hell and back …
But she can’t do it.
She remembers Jay’s eyes, glinting bright and worried in a dim room, as he asks if she’s sure about this; Nya remembers her voice hardening to keep vulnerability from bleeding through as she nods. She’s well aware it’s unwise to keep a secret this heavy, thank you, but they’re both heart-wrenchingly familiar with secrets. What’s one more?
Getting angry at Jay for keeping secrets and then turning around and asking to keep this one … it’s hypocritical. She sees the recognition of the fact in his eyes, but there’s understanding mixed with it; it’s his secret, too. It’s their burden to shoulder behind closed doors, afraid to face their family. After losing Zane and getting him back, after Chen and Garmadon, after Morro, peace feels fraught, like walking a tightrope over another storm. How would the others react to knowing they’d broken again? She doesn’t want to deal with the answer to that question.
So Nya does what she does best. She squares her shoulders and marches through each day, reminding herself with each skip of her heart, each flash of her life before her eyes, each time the world blurs that it’s over now. It spits in the face of every lesson life’s beaten into her bones, reverting to stubbornness and pride and the kind of independence that would rather see her amputate an injured limb than get help for it, but it’s a twisted kind of easier to wrestle her pain in silence. The sky pirates made it clear that she needs to stop being afraid to rely on her team, and with a distant sense of guilt it occurs to her that applies to her emotions about this situation, too, but ...
But that fight’s over. And Nya honestly wants nothing more than to take the lesson to heart and put the rest behind her. Let sleeping dogs lie, and all.
Slight problem with that plan: she’s beginning to get the feeling they don’t want to stay asleep. Nya’s good at compartmentalizing, and has been ever since she was an orphan child balancing school and keeping the forge afloat, but the neat dividers are starting to give.
All she can do is watch as the cracks spider out like the Tiger Widow’s web.
~~~~
Lloyd sits on the edge of the ship’s deck at night, sometimes.
Who knows what he’s thinking. Nya knows her little brother would rather sort through his feelings behind curtains, and they’re all working on helping him open up, but sometimes there’s nothing to do but be there with someone while they watch the world turn.
Tonight, thoughts zipping through her head with manic intensity and no distraction to stop them, she joins him, letting her legs hang over the edge of the Bounty. He acknowledges her with a smile and inches closer, then turns back to face the clouds, eyes searching the scene like there’s a cosmic answer somewhere in the moonlight poking through the blanket of grey. The sky roils in dark, angry sheets, air thick enough to slice with a knife. Nya remembers another storm out at churning sea, splinters from a shipwreck, a missing friend and her bubbling fury in the aftermath, and shudders.
Lloyd doesn’t speak, but he’s gripping a photo of his father with white knuckles and a pinched face. And she understands.
Never once has Lloyd gotten to choose his path. His only crime was wanting Garmadon in his life, and the gift he received in return for it was becoming fated to finish his father off, once, then twice. It’s a painful game, to be destiny’s plaything.
Self-centered as it is, Nya wants to think she gets it. Rarely does she get to choose, either. Being folded into the fate of Ninjago via kidnapping from blacksmith shop had been exciting until she was relegated to damsel in distress and left on the wayside. Then when she’d forged her own path as Samurai X, she had to give it up and be the water ninja instead. Water ninja. Kai’s sister. Jay’s love interest. The girl. Nadakhan’s prize.
Never a thought for what Nya wants to be. Just roles and labels to live up to whether she likes it or not, forced upon her like a wedding dress sewn for someone else.
And the one choice she could make ended up …
Her chest tightens until she’s dizzy.
Once the world sharpens back into focus, Nya casts Lloyd a sympathetic glance and quietly traces the feathery outlines of the clouds with her eyes. It’s a good night for commiserating, and she’s not feeling talkative, either.
She wonders what she is now, and her throat tightens.
~~~~
Nya catches, out of the corner of her eye, the breathless headline on the tabloid lining the rack at the grocery store—“DEVASTATING FACTS ABOUT THE GIRL NINJA!!” —and bites back the urge to scream herself hoarse.
The public eye is an unforgiving one, she knows that, she’s long since resigned herself to it. But sometimes it grates, the way everyone seems to presume they can weigh in on Nya.
The people out there don’t know anything about her.  All they care about is that she’s the girl, and there’s drama behind her they can gobble up like starved mutts.
She doesn’t let on about it much, because being imperfect is kind of one of her worst nightmares, but she knows she’s made mistakes in the past. She was prideful, even haughty. She strung Jay and Cole along for way too long because the attention got to her head, and the paparazzi will never let her forget it. Nya should have been the bigger person and cut it short, instead of letting Cole keep going with it because he was mad Jay didn’t trust him, or letting Jay’s jealousy fester as long as it did. Bit late for that, though.
It’s hardly like her faults stop there. Being hunted by Nadakhan and upset by Jay’s refusal to understand her “no” meant no, on top of the fact that her independence would only ever be conditional sinking in from becoming the water ninja … it was a perfect storm of stress, and it made her nasty. Jay keeping secrets and endangering them all was the last straw. She blew up, lashed out, furious that she couldn’t trust anything to go right.
She still regrets it. The bruises on his skin after his rescue are still imprinted on her eyelids when she wakes up, sometimes.
So she’s not perfect, by a long shot. But …
(Greedy eyes following her every movement, wanting her as she runs. Blinking to find another family member gone. Fighting for her life as the pirates capture her. Being wrestled into someone else’s gown. Pushing desperately against Dilara’s spirit snatching away her autonomy. Venom seeping into her gown, frigid then BURNING, the ability to think slipping—)
Nya loosens the death grip she has on her basket. Takes a deep breath in, then out.
They don’t know anything about her. Tabloids and TV hosts and publicists can gossip all they want about Nya’s mistakes; they’ll never convince her she deserved to die for them.
~~~~
Kai is many things, and stupid is definitely one of them, sometimes. But he isn’t stupid when it comes to how Nya’s doing, and she knows this. If anything, she’s the idiot for thinking she could keep herself under wraps from him for long. Kai must have noticed the tough veneer she’s painted over herself, and how secretive she’s being with them, because Kai knows she doesn’t like to be open about feeling unwell, and Nya knows that it worries him.
Ironically enough, that worry is why she knows she can’t ever tell Kai what happened. Ever since she revealed herself as Samurai X, he’d learned not to hover, and Nya’s endlessly grateful that he’s understanding enough to trust in her strength. Nowadays, Kai’s concern manifests in significant glances, questioning hands on her shoulder, hugs a little tighter and lingering longer than normal, discreetly asking if there’s anything she wants to tell him.
He’s taken to all that behavior in hyperdrive, of course, because there is no way Nya’s snippiness and constant tension and nights in the kitchen making tea after nightmares slipped his notice.
But that’s fine. Nya would rather deal with the quiet apprehension radiating off him now than the full-blown panic she’s bound to have on her hands if Kai ever found out that she’d lost her life and he’d been helpless to do anything but watch.
She has an idea what it’ll look like, too. He’d taken Lloyd’s possession hard enough—Nya had caught him pummeling punching bags in the training room until his knuckles bled, noticed the heaviness in his eyes when he looked at their little brother, or at Cole, and no matter how much she insisted that he hadn’t failed, Kai refused to let himself believe it. Uttering a word about the Sky Pirates to her older brother, Kai who had practically raised them both, Kai who had only ever become a ninja to save her, Kai who had blamed himself so ruthlessly for Zane and Lloyd and Cole?
It would break him.
She just can’t do that to him. She’ll stitch her lips shut if that’s what it takes to make sure he never finds out.
So when Kai fixes them both mugs of chamomile tea at 2 in the morning, and casually remarks on the strange amount of repairs she’s been doing on the perfectly intact Bounty, Nya just smiles tiredly at him and fires off some sarcastic retort that’s sure to rile him up.
She loves her older brother, which is why she made the decision to take this secret to her grave.
~~~~
Nya notices while brushing her hair, one day, that she’s neglected to pay attention to it; the sleek black strands are almost to her shoulder, rather than brushing against her chin like she’s used to. Once she’s teased out every last snarl, she goes to cut her hair, but hesitates right before the scissors snip.
When she looks in the mirror, sometimes it’s Dilara’s face flashing before her eyes, not her own. She has to look for the minutiae, the details that count, like the flinty sharpness in her own eyes, the scar near her chin, the odd mark forming on her cheek, obsessively contrasting them to wide, sweet eyes on a deceptively cherubic face.
Nya wishes—no, not wishes, look where wishing had gotten them all—that Nadakhan had cared to see the differences. Maybe that way, she wouldn’t have felt the eyes on her back, always following her, waiting for her to fall into his grasp. Maybe she could have avoided the desperate game of cat-and-mouse. And just maybe, she wouldn’t have been grappled into a suffocating gown, or had her agency ripped from her as Dilara took her face, or died—
Right, that had happened. How Cole and Zane go about their days knowing they’ve walked through the doors of death, she can't begin to fathom. Nya wonders when she’ll stop feeling like she has to hide in her own home from eyes that are no longer watching, wonders when she’ll stop feeling the white-hot burn of venom leaching into her blood, and it’s Dilara’s face that brought it upon her.
Nya sets the scissors down, and tries not to flinch at the way they klink against the counter. She doesn’t want Dilara’s face anymore.
Maybe she’ll let it grow out.
~~~~~
It wasn’t even that rough of a touch, Nya despairs later. Cole, even in spars, always knew his strength, and he barely glanced her sternum with a ghostly hand as she knocked him off balance.
Apparently, on a bad day, that chilly touch was enough to send the phantom shock of Tiger Widow venom racing through her system; Nya forgot how to breathe for a second, and the next she broke her stance and pushed. Already off-kilter, Cole stumbled, his back hitting the ground with a heavy thud. In the instant before the others could be alarmed, they locked eyes, concerned meeting terrified. She forced her voice to stay even as she said, “I think that’s enough training for today.” Then she ran.
Now, here she is, her door slammed shut and locked, and her back’s pressed against it as she tries to remember what it feels like not to buzz like an entire hornet’s nest. She’s fine, she repeats to herself. The mantra is soothing simply in its repetitiveness; it gets her mind off of the sensation that won’t leave her alone ever since she lived it. She’s fine, she’s alive, and she’s not losing her grip on consciousness because all her organs are shutting down. Nya is fine, not actually feeling the venom seep into her skin through the coarse fabric of the wedding dress, cold for just a millisecond before erupting into white-hot pain across her skin. If her vision is off, it’s because of the tears welling up despite her stubborn efforts to blink them away, not the spots that danced across her world as Flintlocke’s fatal accident slowly claimed her life-
Her breath catches in a sob. Nya furiously muffles it behind her hand.
It didn’t even happen. She’s been through so much, she’s been in danger so many times, and this is the one that sticks? So it killed her, yeah, admittedly that’s a big step above the other times, but it hadn’t happened to anyone else except her, and Jay, and she can’t, won’t, make those words leave her lips. Every other problem in her life, she’d risen above, she’d fixed and wrestled back into her control, and then she’d gotten to square her shoulders and quip to the boys how easy it had been.
How does she fix something that’s only broken in her memories?
~~~~~
Nya remembers it all.
She almost wishes she didn’t.

Allies Ch11
“Emperor!” Nya yelled as they rushed towards Emperor Wu, just as he mounted his horse.
“Knights. Good. We must quickly head to the Golden Peaks to defend it from Garmadon and his army.” Wu told them urgently urging his white horse ahead, the Knights following after him.
“We’re sorry we failed you Emperor. Garmadon had someone else on his team-” Zane spoke up.
“A super strong, super fast Umberian!” Jay interrupted.
“And get this!” Cole took over.
“He’s the Green Knight!” They all yelled and Wu looked shocked at that.
“The Green Knight is an Umberian?” Wu whispered in shock, understanding his Knights’ defeat now.
“Yeah! He’s on Garmadon’s side! He kicked all of our asses like it was nothing!” Kai huffed angrily as he dodged a boulder in the path to the Golden Peaks.
“That is to be expected. The Green Knight is stronger than all four of you combined. And to have him on Garmadon’s side…” Wu whispered, fearful now. “No matter what, we must not allow Garmadon to forge the Megaweapon.” He told them all urgently.
“But how do we even fight them now? They have the Golden Weapons, the Green Knight and an indestructible army. We can only hold them back for so long and I’m sure this time, they won’t retreat when their organic members' numbers have lessened.” Zane pointed out.
“... We cannot lose hope nor give up. We fight until the bitter end.” He told the Knights who shared a look before nodding determinedly.
They were Knights, and Knights never quit. They had to fight with their all… Even when the situation looks hopeless.
_________
“This thing has missiles?” Lloyd asked, looking over the control panel wide eyed, already figuring out how to pilot it with a glance.
Cryptor made sure he kept up to date with modern technology after all. He could make a Nindroid from scratch right now if he wanted.
“Yes but we won’t be using that unless the situation becomes dire.” Garmadon says as he waited for them to load two missiles into the Garmatron, a spare third left in a storage compartment of the large vehicle. “There is one thing we must do before we leave however.” He says as he walked along the platform to the edge, looking over at his army of Stone Warriors and a very small fleet of Nindroids.
He wasn’t bringing all of his army. No, he wasn’t foolish enough to leave his castle and the large village worth of people living there unarmed. Wu would bring his strongest fighters to the Golden Peak, there was no doubt in that. But what of the rest of his army? Naturally, he would send them here for a counter attack. Wu had a vast army of many men. The only thing that gave Garmadon a slight advantage with his smaller army, was the fact that half his army was made of indestructible Stone Soldiers and tough titanium Nindroids that could be rebuilt and repaired if destroyed or damaged.
“Generals!” Garmadon called and all four Generals who would be joining him in war came forward, kneeling -bowing in Pythor’s case- before him and Lloyd as he walked over.
“Emperor, Prince.” They all said in unison.
“Today, we march to the Golden Peak to put an end to this era of war once and for all. Today, we fight for our home. Today, we bring about an era of long lasting, even eternal peace!” He spoke loudly and a loud cheer erupted again. “I may not have started off as an image of peace- and I wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for my son.” He says, looking to Lloyd who gave him a small smile, a sight very rarely seen in public.
“It’s thanks to him and the efforts of my Generals, the efforts of my soldiers… And the effort of my people that we have reached this point.” He continued, looking over them  all. “And as your Emperor, know that I will not let your hard work, your sacrifices go to waste. I will fulfill my crowning promise to you all and put an end to this conflict for good!” He yelled and they cheered even louder.
“We march!” Garmadon yelled over their cheers and each of his four generals took their place at the front of the army before they all began to march out through the lowered castle gate, their footsteps thunderous.
“What about the dragons?” Lloyd asked, looking towards them where they were grounded, looking around their new environment curiously.
“While they have bonded with you, in truth, they belong to the four Knights of Fulgor separated like this. They were hostile to the Knights out of duty to protect the Golden Weapons. However, if the Knights were to approach them now, they would be allowed to mount them and use their power against us. It’s best to leave them behind.” Garmadon told his son and he nods, facing forward as his father navigated the Garmatron forward, a small number of his men behind him.
Lloyd looked ahead as they left the castle, his blood rushing under his cool exterior. This was it. This was the march to peace at last. After thousands of years of fighting, the war will end today. No more lives will be lost on the battlefield after this. His father’s burden would lighten and lighten still with time. He carries the burden of thousands of lives lost, all of their names written down and kept in a slot within his throne, visible above his head. The burden of an Emperor… Lloyd glanced up at his father’s serious face then looked ahead again. And now, at last, the burden of a Prince too. He would finally fight by his father’s side, finally play his part as a Prince.
He flipped his hood back, scrubbing the paint off his face then met his father’s gaze once he felt him watching him. He looked at him with resolve, not willing to hide any more. He was the Prince of Penumbra, son to the second Emperor; Garmadon. He tossed his cloak aside, leaving only the rich green cape clasped to his armor, not caring as the wind carried it back to the castle. He was going to fight as he was. He was not ashamed of his heritage and he would not let anyone let him feel so. Garmadon looked over his son for a moment longer before he nodded his approval, looking forward as they approached Fulgor. He would have left his son behind if he could but he knew he couldn’t talk him out of not coming along. That, and he will need his power. This Morro, while his weakness is clear, he is a force Garmadon knew should not be reckoned with.
______
“No Golden Weapons?” Morro asked once the Knights arrived at the base of the boiling Golden Peak.
“No. We were bested.” Zane says as they took a defensive stance next to him.
“But boy do we have just as bad news for you.” Jay says as he activated his electroreception as far out as it could go just in case they were planning a sneak attack.
“The Green Knight was the one to take us out.” Zane told him and Morro gasped.
“What?! That doesn’t make any sense! How are you so sure whoever they are is the Green Knight? And if they were, why would they attack you?” Morro says demanding answers.
“The Golden Weapons reacted to him-”
“And he’s an Umberian, meaning he’s on Garmadon’s side.” Kai says, cutting Cole off as he spoke.
“The Green Knight? An Umberian?” Morro whispered, gripping his fists tightly.
The prophesied Green Knight, meant to deliver them into a time of peace was on Garmadon’s side? What kind of twisted destiny is this? Why let an Umberian be the Green Knight?! He was best suited for it and if not him, then any of the four Knights would be fine! He gritted his teeth as fury filled him, making the wind whip around him.
“Morr-”
“Then screw destiny!” He snapped suddenly, gaining all of the elemental masters’ attention, his father’s included. “I don’t care what it or the Weapons say! I am the Green Knight and I will defeat Garmadon!” He yelled and Wu frowned.
He knew Morro knew as well as he does that destiny doesn’t work that way. His stubbornness will not change that. Wu turned back to the horizon where he knew his brother would be coming from. He won’t deject him however. That energy is what they will need to push through this.
“Garmadon will come and he will come with his army. They will outnumber us but we must not let them overwhelm us. Break apart his numbers and strike them down.” Wu told the elemental masters as he turned to them. “The Stone Soldiers he’s bound to bring will be challenging but not impossible to defeat. While we cannot destroy them, we can hinder them. Cole, Zane, Kai and Jay, you four will focus on his Generals. Morro, you will face the Green Knight.” He instructed and Morro looked conflicted.
He wanted to be the one to defeat Garmadon but defeating the Green Knight was too tempting of an offer on its own. He gritted his teeth but nodded.
“The rest of you will be in charge of taking care of as many of them as you can. Keep them distracted even.” He says to the elemental masters and they nodded. “... I’ll take on Garmadon.” Wu says, holding his dragon bone sword tightly.
“The Golden Weapons are top priority. It’s not too late to get them back from Garmadon. Once I retrieve them, you will all be tasked with keeping them all at bay long enough for me to craft the Mega Weapon.” He told them all and they nodded, weapons grasped firmly and determination burning in their eyes.
Wu turned back to the horizon, slipping on his golden, horned helmet. The Dragon Armor would give him some resistance to Garmadon’s powers and protection from his weapons. It was his father’s first and now his. He narrowed his eyes, stealing himself. With this armor, with his father’s legacy, he will end this war as he promised and bring order to this realm. The Knights watched Wu as he stood there the gold cape attached to his armor billowing in the wind, waiting for the final battle to come. This was it. The reality of that was starting to settle in. This was the last battle of this war. This battle will determine the faith of all of Ninjago. It will either be saved from the war that plagued it for thousands of years, or… Fall to chaos and darkness. But they won’t let that happen. They won’t.
Kai glanced across at Zane standing next to him. Any of them could die during this. Could lose the other. He knew Zane wasn’t indestructible, despite his titanium build, still visible from where half his face plate was missing.. He was painfully aware of that, and was painfully aware that he wasn’t indestructible either. This could be their last moment together. Zane looked across at Kai, feeling his eyes on him- then blinked once he reached a hand out, cupping his cheek that was missing his face plate.
“I love you, you know that, right?” Kai told him and Zane’s breath caught.
“This isn’t the end Kai. We’ll make it through this.” He told Kai, placing his hand over his that was still on his cheek.
“I know, I know.” Kai huffed, giving him his Kai™ grin. “I’m just reminding you doll.” He told him, stepping forward to press their foreheads together.
Zane knew Kai wasn’t being very truthful. He didn’t think that they would die, no. But he knew there was a possibility and he wasn't willing for the worst case scenario to happen without him saying those words once more. He knew Kai well enough. Zane sighed softly, reaching across to cup his cheek in return. He could sympathise with that.
“I love you too Kai.” He told him softly, seeing him close his red-amber eyes at that, taking a slow breath before managing a more honest smile.
Jay watched them both as they basically said goodbye to each other then looked down at his nunchucks he held tightly, his knuckles white. He kept telling himself that he would wait until after the war before he told Cole about how he really felt about him… Said it to himself every day he woke up and every night that he went to sleep. It’s just… Anxious sparks of lightning arched along his fists and arms. He never considered- should have considered and expected- but never did consider that he might not live to see the end of the war, never considered that Cole might not see the end of the war. It was a realisation that shook him to the core. He should say something in this calm-before-the-storm they had. Knows he should but… But… He could barely even breath, worse open his tightly closed mouth…
Cole watched Jay as weak arcs of lightning sparked against his armor, his small but calloused hands trembling as he gripped his nunchucks painfully tight. Touching him now was asking for a painful shock. But despite that, Cole wanted to. Wanted to reassure him. Wanted to tell him that they would make it through this, maybe not in one piece but that they would. Wanted to… Wanted to pull him close and press soft kisses against the cute freckles dusting his cheeks and across his nose… Wanted to kiss the tip of his button nose… Wanted to kiss the no doubt soft lips he always worries with his teeth whenever he gets nervous… He was his best friend since they were kids… Or so he’d like to think. He hadn’t wanted to push the boundaries they had, hadn’t wanted to scare him with his feelings. Jay was the one to talk about dating cute girls while he was the one who pinned in silence over his cute best friend. He still didn’t want to push things but…
He didn’t think he could go off dying until he made his feelings known. It might cost them their friendship but at least he had the memories of their time together. He took a breath. Time was of the essence and right now, they didn’t have much of it before they would need to give their all for the sake of Ninjago. He swallowed before taking a deeper breath.
“Jay…” He began and the shorter brunette turned to look at him, large blue eyes filled with more emotions than he could count.
He almost choked. Almost.
“I’m cliche as hell to do this right now- really, the whole time we’ve been friends is a big cliche- but I have to let you know before I don’t have a chance any more.” Cole began, fumbling over his words but pressing himself to continue.
“If this is about that time my armor was mysteriously filled with slime during our time as Junior Knights, I already know it was you.” Jay huffed as he fiddled with his Nunchucks. “But I-”
“What? No. That’s not what I was trying to say- and that was Kai.” Cole clarified before Jay could say more and Kai grumbled about keeping secrets nearby. “I’m trying to say I like you, you big nerd.” He says, a sly smile tugging the corner of his lips.
“I figured you must since we’re friends. But-”
“You dense-” Cole says in frustration, getting embarrassed as the others who were not so subtly listening in began to laugh. “You’re really going to make me confess everything, aren’t you?” He groaned into his hands and Jay was confused.
What was Cole going on about? He would really appreciate it if he could shut up for a second though. He was trying to confess his feelings before he chickened out here!
Cole scrubbed his face with his palms then took a deep breath, grasping Jay by the shoulders.
“I’m in love with you, you adorable idiot! I have been since we were kids!” Cole blurts and Jay stared at him lost for a few moments- before what he was saying hit him over the head like a mallet.
Jay’s first response was choking on whatever he was about to say.
“You… Love me?!” Jay asked him once he found the ability to speak, his eyes wide as shock prevented him to fully grasp that somehow, some way, Cole loved him too.
“Yes, you. Do you see any other adorable, freckled, button nosed idiot genius here?” Cole says exasperatedly then hesitated. “So if you’re going to reject me, do it already. I couldn’t live with myself if I hadn’t told you before- mmph!” He was cut off by Jay grasping the front of his armor, yanking him down low enough so he could kiss him.
“Finally.” Nya huffed with a smirk as she crossed her arms, glancing away as they made out once Cole comprehended that he was being kissed.
They were insufferable with how oblivious they both were. Worse than Kai and Zane were. Jay pulled back and Cole blinked at him a few times.
“... So was that a ‘I like you too’ kiss or an ‘I like you as a friend’ kiss or a ‘don’t talk to me again’ kiss?” Cole asked Jay and he snorted.
“Who’s the idiot now?” Jay asked him, eyes sparkling as he grinned. “But it’s none of the above.” He added and Cole didn’t know how to feel about that.
“It’s an ‘I love you too’ kiss. Also a ‘we’re idiots to not have said something sooner since I’ve been crushing on you since we were kids too’ and an ‘I take offense to that idiot genius comment’ kiss.” Jay told him and Cole blinked at him before laughing, leaning down to bump their noses together, his heart even heavier but with love.
Jay couldn’t help but join him. Cole was right. Love confessions before a fight that could possibly kill them? Cliche. But hey! On the plus side, if they survive it, they could finally start dating. Cole leaned down to kiss Jay again- but paused half way there.
“What’s wrong?” Jay asked him, eyes half lidded, looking forward to another kiss. Cole pulled back completely, looking down at his feet, firm on the ground.
“Do you feel that?” Cole asked Jay, feeling the rhythmic rumbling beneath his feet.
“Feel what?” Jay asked, staying still so he could see if he felt whatever ‘it’ was too.
Cole was quiet for another moment, thinking this through… Before it hit him. He looked up at Wu who had turned to look at him then.
“... They’re here.” ____________
(Ngl "In the Name of Love" began playing on my YouTube playlist the second they kissed and I was immediately like 'Yep. This is faith'. But enough of the mushy stuff! War is at hand! Thanks for reading!)

He Used To Be Mine — Lloyd Songfic
After HoT, before SoG, song is She Used To Be Mine from Waitress
----
It’s not simple to say that most days, I don’t recognize me
Lloyd gazed at himself in the bathroom mirror, his usual brilliant green eyes shadowed and made dull by the bags that lay underneath them.
With these shoes and this apron, that place and its patrons
There were times when he looked in the mirror he could see the smallest shadow of himself as a kid. He was young, he was fun…
Have taken more than I gave them
More often than not, he only felt older when he did so, his hair far longer than it was before, his facial features more pronounced. Even his eyes were older. They held wisdom.
It’s not easy to know, that I’m not anything like I used to be
Oh what he would give to have his childhood back, to take a look at himself in a mirror and not be able to actually see himself because he was too short.
Although it’s true I was never attention’s sweet center, I still remember that boy
There it was- that wide, toothy smile… when he looked now all he can see is a thin, straight line where his grin used to be
He isn’t perfect, but he tries
His ears used to be so full of kids at Darkley’s laughing, of the sound of candy wrappers opening and teachers telling him to do his work… now all he could hear is shouting. Battle cries and the shouts that led to death plagued his once joyful ears.
He is good, but he lies
As a child he had lied to get what he wanted. Now, he lied just to be left alone.
He is hard on himself, he is broken and won’t ask for help
If Lloyd squinted he could see a faint scar running along his nose and another on the left side of his chin. Battle scars. The one on his nose was from his dad. The one on his cheek was from the Tournament.
He is messy, but he’s kind
Despite being faint, he knew everyone could see them. The scars were usual, always there. He forgot about them. Fans, the press… those scars are the first thing they all see
He is lonely most of the time
In the reflection, he sees the image of his father. Garmadon’s hand is on his shoulder, a proud smile taking over his face. But as soon as Lloyd would lock eyes with his hallucination it would vanish, leaving him alone once more.
He is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
He longed for that back. Those few years when his family was whole. His dad, his mom, his uncle, even his brothers…
He is gone, but he used to be mine
He wanted to look away. But each time he pulled his face away, he somehow always came back.
It’s not what I asked for
He could see the green on his gi, ugh, that green. He didn’t ask to be the green ninja, he didn’t want it.
Sometimes life just slips in through the backdoor
He didn’t ask to fight his dad, he didn’t ask for all the power, all of the enemies and fame.
And carves out a person and makes you believe it’s all true
But it was destiny. A destiny he wished he could change. But no, he had to accept the fact that this is who he is. He didn’t want to.
And now I’ve got you
When he looked in the mirror, he saw fakeness. He saw lies, betrayal, hurt. He saw the longing to run far away and never look back.
And you’re not what I asked for
He didn’t want to be fake. It’s always a fake smile, fake optimism, a fake “I’m okay”.
If I’m honest I know, I would give it all back for a chance to start over
Maybe he wouldn’t have been the green ninja if he hadn’t been kicked out of Darkley’s… or maybe if he hadn’t unlocked the serpentine tombs. Maybe then his destiny would have changed.
And rewrite an ending or two, for that boy that I knew
Then he wouldn’t have had to fight his dad. Or the Overlord. Or Chen. Maybe Morro wouldn’t have possessed him. Maybe he wouldn’t have to fight anyone.
Who was reckless just enough
He was the reason Zane had died, if he had been faster, smarter, or strong enough to fight the Overlord himself the white ninja would have been fine.
Who gets hurt, but who learns how to tough it up
He was the reason that Kai had been corrupted for a few minutes during the Tournament, Kai should have been the green ninja. Not him.
When he’s bruised, and gets used by a man who can’t love
Sometimes he dreamt of his dad, his dad that despised him because he wasn’t evil enough, or perhaps because he had died for good because of him.
Then he’ll get stuck
He was the reason Cole had been turned into a ghost. They wouldn't have gone to the temple if he hadn’t been possessed.
and be scared of the life that’s inside him
He was the reason Jay was jumpy. He didn’t know why exactly the blue ninja was jumpy, but he always asked Lloyd not to leave him again. Again?
Growing stronger each day
Wu, his uncle, is gone, lost in time… he could have saved him… he should have saved him.
Till it kindly reminds him to fight just a little
He had to be Master Lloyd, he had to lead the team and pretend like he was okay.
And bring back that fire in his eyes
Then he would look in the mirror, and all of the lies would wash away as his smile faded. He can lie to the others, but he can’t lie to himself.
That’s been gone but used to be mine
He ran a hand through his blonde hair and stiffened in that position, his tired eyes lackluster and aimlessly gazing at the sight before him.
Ohhh, used to be mine
All he could see was green, that stupid color. He ripped his gi off of his body, exposing his chest to himself. A grunt escaped from his mouth and he threw the dastardly piece of clothing to the floor.
He is messy, but he’s kind
He kicked the gi, his breathing heavy. He looked back into the mirror.
He is lonely most of the time
He was alone. Alone in his burden, alone in his pain. No one understood.
He is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
He was tempted to shatter it, break the glass. Then it would be broken, like he was.
He is gone, but he used to be
But he didn’t he never did. He bent down, picked his gi up, then walked away.
Mine.
----
aka I’m posting this because work was really rough and just not good in any way today so lowkey venting by posting this so I hope you all enjoyed (also I want to finally contribute something to the fandom)! I just feel Lloyd gives off serious She Used To Be Mine vibes and I was sad one day so I wrote it, it’s a beautiful song, really. Sorry if it sucks, I don’t generally write songfics but this seemed like a depressing but not too depressing oneshot I could post to vent so yeeeah. Sorry if it sucks, thanks to anyone who read this far:)

Papa Wu Pt.2
(This one is for my discord pals! UwU I love you guys!)
__________________
Part 1
__________________
After everything that has happened with Lloyd suddenly aging up, the Dark Island incident where Nya and Morro got corrupted (He almost blew them all off the Garmatron and it was a loooong drop. Thankfully, corrupted Zane iced him over on accident when trying to attack Kai.) And of course, the Overlord. But now that was all over and they were all hanging out in Garmadon's newly built Monastery.
Lloyd arrived after attending a formal party thanking him for saving Ninjago exhausted. Conversing with that many people wore him down. He was just glad to be home. He smiled once he noticed Morro, Kai and Nya spending time with the Ultra Dragon. He landed before them, making the golden dragon disappear right after.
"Guys, hey." He says with a smile, walking over to them.
He frowned once none of them acknowledged him.
"Did I... Do something wrong?..." He asked, confused.
"Did you hear something?" Kai asked, pointedly ignoring Lloyd.
"Nope." Nya says, feeding Rocky's head a toad and liver.
"Did you here something Better Lloyd?" Morro asked Wisp's head as he nudged him.
"Guys, come on-"
"I don't think he does." Nya spoke up. "Better Lloyd actually remembers we exist and takes time out to visit us, not to just come back and go straight to bed." She says pointedly.
"I've been-"
"Better Lloyd knows just how much we want the best for him and appreciates our efforts for him to take a break, not sneak off." Kai huffed.
"I'm sorr-"
"And let's not forget Better Lloyd knows better than to flaunt his powers like some kind of rodeo clown. He knows being the golden ninja is a big responsibility that should be taken seriously." Morro says, looking at Lloyd with narrowed eyes.
"Ok, alright. I get it. I messed up." Lloyd sighed as they all stood before him with crossed arms. "But I promise to take a few days off and not sneak out and not show off my powers, ok?" He says and all three siblings looked at each other before nodding, satisfied.
"Now. dinner's ready." Nya says, ushering him in, her brother's following behind her.
_________
"What are you doing?" Kai asked, walking over to his older brother from where he was seated at an opened window, scrolling through his phone.
"I have a new idea for a vehicle so I'm trying to find heavy duty hydraulic jacks." Morro says, glancing over at Kai as he walked over.
"Sounds heavy." Kai says, glancing at his phone as he scrolled through Jungle.com. "Wait!" He yelled, startling Morro and almost making him fall out the window.
"Dude!" He hissed at him, heart pounding a mile a minute.
Sure he can use his wind to catch himself but that doesn't erase initial shock!
"But check out those slippers! They're-"
"Not what I need." Morro says irritably as he got up and started walking away.
"But Oreo!" Kai called after him.
"I thought I told you not to call me that?!" He says with a glare over his shoulder.
"I dare you to buy the slippers." Kai says, smirking when Morro stopped in his tracks. "... Then give them to Pops. In person."
"Why would I-"
"Chicken." He smirked and Morro tensed.
"Fine. But when I do it, you have to do a dare. And you can't say no." Morro says with narrowed eyes.
"Deal." Kai says with a grin.
Morro only smirked as he turned away.
"... I have a feeling I just lost that bargain." Kai says after a moment, a feeling of dread washing over him.
___________
"Hey papa." Nya says as she walked in on him and Garmadon having a conversation.
"Yes, what is it Nya?" Wu asked her as she walked over.
I was wondering if I can get a new gi colour." She says and both brothers rose a brow.
"Why is that? Maroon is a good colour for you." Wu says, intrigued.
"Well, I like it and all but I feel like all it says is 'Kai's sister', not water ninja." She says with a wince, rubbing her arm.
"... Well. If that is how you feel, I am open for suggestions." Wu nods and Nya blinked, not expecting him to agree in any way or form.
"I... Didn't expect to get this far." She says with a nervous laugh. "Can I... Think of something then get back to you?" She asked sheepishly.
"Certainly." Wu says, smiling at his daughter who beamed.
"Thanks Papa! See you later Uncle!" She called back as she ran off.
"I never knew they'd be a day." Garmadon says to his brother with a smile.
"They're all wonderful children. There are an unstoppable force when they decide to put their heads together but every moment is worth it." Wu says fondly, picking up his cup of tea and taking a sip.
"I'm glad. They're close to Lloyd too. I'm just glad he had someone to watch out for him, no matter how late in his life." Garmadon sighed and Wu placed his hand on his shoulder.
"He understands that you could not be there brother." Wu told him firmly and Garmadon have a weary smile.
"Well-"
"If Nya's getting a gi change, so am I!" Morro yelled, tucking and rolling once he came through the open window, a gust of wind following him. "Here it is." He says, placing down a detailed sketch of his gi now but with different themes.
"... Cole is already the black ninja Morro." Wu pointed out.
"I wouldn't be all black. You're missing the greens." He says, gesturing to them. "Nya had two colours before so I can take off that." He says and Wu looked at it closely.
Then again, despite his gi being a darker green than Lloyd's he kept being mistaken for him with his hood on and it never stops irritating him...
"Very well. We'll use this colour scheme for your next gi." Wu agrees and Morro grinned.
"Thank you papa." He says, giving him a hug before turning to leave.
"And next time, use the door! And tell Kai and the others 'no' when you see them." He called after him.
"Will do." He smirked before leaving the brothers alone again.
Garmadon couldn't help but chuckle then.
"Spirited, aren't they?" He smiled.
"Understatement brother." Wu chuckled.
____________
Jay looked both ways in the hall before heading towards the back where Nya was planning the new blueprints to recreate the Destiny's Bounty. He only has one shot at this. Kai and Morro were busy playing video games with Lloyd as Cole and Zane took sides so he only had 10 minutes or so until one of them notice he's missing. He walked quickly ahead, toward the exit. He was going to make it!
He grunted once he walked straight into someone's chest. He blinked then looked up, the colour leaving his face as cold green eyes looked down at him.
"And where... Do you think you're going? Hmm?" Morro asked, crossing his arms.
"Um... Definitely nowhere near Nya?" Jay squeaked, backing up.
Morro flicked his finger at him and Jay yelled as he was thrown back, grunting as he hit the wall. He groaned then rubbed his head, looking up. He felt even more terrified once Morro wasn't there. He swallowed. He had no chance.
Not when Nya's brother was a freaking ghost.
__________
"Papa." Wu turned around to look at his eldest son from here he stood at the door, his hands behind his back.
"What can I do for you son?" He asked as he walked towards him.
"Nothing really. I just..." He says, trailing off before holding out a package for him. "I got this for you." He says, holding out a package and Wu blinked then took it.
"Thank you son." He says with a smile and Morro returned it albeit...
Forced.
"Go ahead. Open it." Morro urged and Wu set it down on a table then opened the box carefully.
He blinked once he looked at what was inside. They certainly were creative.
"Ah. New slippers. Thank you so-" Wu cut himself off when he turned back to his son- but found no son there. "... I suppose he was in a rush." He says then looked back to the slippers and felt them.
Soft.
_______________
"Hey Zane, where did you get your nails done?" Cole asked him, genuinely curious as he walked into the room.
That shade of blue was a good look on him.
"Nya and Morro did them just now. I rather like them." He says, looking them over.
Each of his index fingers were painted black and held a snowflake done in white, glittery polish. Cole took his hand and whistled low as he got a closer look.
"Any chance they'd do mine?" He asked.
"If you're quick enough. After Morro finishes Lloyd's, Nya will be doing his hair." Zane told him and Cole wasted no time heading up to their room, following the smell of nail polish
He walked in to see Morro concentrating as he applied a golden pattern of some sort to Lloyd's black index nails, his own nails a darker green colour, the index black with the symbol for wind in grey.
"Oh, Cole. You here to get your nails done too?" Nya asked, looking over her medium blue one, a light blur water drop pattern on her black painted index fingers.
"Yeah. I saw Zane's and got jealous." He says as he sat.
"You came just in time. I was about to see how much trouble I can get in for streaking my hair like Morro." Kai says, holding up red hair dye that matched well with his red and black nails.
"Let me know when it goes down." Cole grinned as he sat before Nya at her request.
She immediately reached for the brown nail polish amongst the several she had before her.
"How did you guys get so good at nail paint?" Cole asked as Nya perfectly applied the first coat to his nails.
"Well, our pops played the roll of both mom and dad so when I got interested in painting my nails as a kid, he let me practise on him. Morro is shit at painting them but he can make patterns professionally." Nya says, dipping the brush in the polish again.
"Sensei Wu must have been a rad dad." Cole hummed, giving his fingers a wiggle before she began painting them again.
"The best." All three siblings agreed before grinning.
"All done. If you smudge that dragon I will strangle you with my charger wire." Morro threatened Lloyd as he looked over the tiny dragon on his fingers.
"Wouldn't plan on it." Lloyd grinned at him.
"Wanna get your hair streaked with us Lloyd?" Kai asked, holding up the green hair dye.
"Eh, why not?" Lloyd shrugged and Kai grinned deviously.
_______________
The next day, everyone gathered for breakfast.
"Lloyd... What- what did you did to your hair?" He asked him.
"Do you like it?" He asked, fliddling with the lock of hair dyed green.
"I think it looks good on him." Nya says, wrapping a hand around his neck with a grin on her face, her own hair holding a streak of blue.
"It's a sibling thing, you guys wouldn't understand." Kai says, boasting his hot red streak of hair proudly.
"Just to make things clear, they're the amateurs. I'm the original." Morro says with a smirk, his cheek in his hand and he usual green streak of hair brighter.
"Nice nails Sensei Garmadon!" Jay called out and Garmadon looked at his black and white nails.
"Thank you. Nya did them for me." He says with a smile her way.
"What's all the commotion?" Wu asked as he walked in.
"No commotion Sensei. Only hair and nail appreciation." Zane says with a smile.
"I have one question for you though Sensei." Cole says seriously and Wu looked at him curiously.
"Go ahead." He consented and Cole took a deep breath.
"WHAT ARE THOSE???!!!" He yelled, pointing out his bread slippers and near hysteric laughter ensued from the younger generation.
"Oh. They my slippers. Morro got them for me. They're rather comfortable." He says with a proud smile once their laugher withered a little.
"You- you like them?" Kai says, surprised.
"Yes. They're rather creative and comfortable. They're good on the back as well." Wu says as he walked over to the stove to set on some tea.
"Huh. Talk about a twist." Kai says and Morro smirked.
"Speaking of. There's still a bet you have to do..." He says and Kai swallowed before putting on a brave face.
"Name it. I can do whatever." He smirked at his brother.
"Good. Because I dare you..." All eyes were on them now, curious, anxious even. "To... Be my slave for the rest of your life." He says and everyone gasped at that.
"Isn't that a little extreme Morro?" Garmadon pointed out and he sighed.
"Fine. I dare you to go an entire week without hair gel then." Morro rectified and Kai was the only one left gasping.
"Actually! I'd rather be your slave!" Kai yelled.
"Nope. Too late. No more hair gel starting tomorrow." Morro says dismissively and Kai slouched.
"Actually, now that I think about it, that's pretty good." Jay says to Cole who nodded.
"It would be most amusing." Zane agrees.
"Don't worry cuz. You'll live." Lloyd grinned and Kai groaned, placing his head on the table.

Inverse Destinies Pt.2
Part 1
_____________________
All of that lead to this moment...
"The Oni Temple." Harumi says, looking back at Lloyd who smiled and followed him in.
Harumi then ran ahead, grunting as she landed on a pillar, taking a moment to regain her balance.
Lloyd ran ahead too, yelping as he landed, almost falling forward. He then looked to Harumi who checked to make sure he was ok before jumping ahead, Lloyd glaring at her as she did. On her third jump, she gasped, watching as rock from the pillar fell down into abyss below.
"If the last mask is here, it won't come easily. Trust me, I've had my share of deadly tombs." Harumi says, looking back at Lloyd who quickly changed his expression to one of curiosity. "Follow my every step." She warned and he nodded before jumping on another pillar, closer to her.
Harumi jumped on a pillar with a carving on it next but then it suddenly began to crumble.
"Rumi!" Lloyd call out, as she looked down alarmed before quickly jumping to safety.
"Okay. Don't touch anything with that symbol on it." Harumi says as she stood on the pillar before jumping across again.
Lloyd looked around then noticed one such pillar next to his and smirked before reaching a had across and touched it, making it suddenly crumble. Harumi whipped her head around then at the sound of crumbling rock as the entire cave began to shake
"What's happening?!" Harumi yelled across the loud rumbling.
"I don't know! I didn't touch anything!" Lloyd yelled back, fearful.
"Lloyd, the exit." Harumi yelled, pointing to the exit, that had started to close.
"No! No, no, no, no, no!" He yelled as Harumi hopped from pillar to pillar towards the exit, hopeful to stop the exit from closing.
She was roo late however. The exit was closed and all movement had stopped. Harumi sighed.
"Guess there's no turning back now." She says, then began hopping across the pillars again, Lloyd watching her go with a dark smirk.
Meanwhile, the ninja were all tied up. Literally. The Sons of Garmadon had taken over the ship, laughing as Ultra Violet used her Sai to fool around with  baby Wu before picking him up.
"If you harm one hair on his head..." Cole threatened, glaring at Killow.
"You'll what?" Killow asked as he jumped down in front of Cole. "Where is he? Where's the Green Ninja?" He demanded.
"Ha. Like we'll ever tell you." Cole huffed.
"Uh, Cole, you don't argue with a man whose navel is that close." Jay says sheepishly.
"Mr. E found them." Mowhawk told him from in the bridge and Killow climbed his way up the ladder to the bridge.
"Good eye, Mr. E." He praised. "The Oni Temple is just fifteen miles north of here. Set a course for the Quiet One." He instructed.
"You don't have to call him that. We know it's Lloyd." Kai called out flatly as their minions laughed.
"Do you guys have any idea what you're doing? He's planning on resurrecting Garmadon. Lord Garmadon!" Nya yelled and their amusement turned to confusion. "I'm gonna guess you never had the chance to meet him." She says with an arched brow.
"No, but we look forward to it." Killow says from the bridge, leaning against the railing.
"In our experience, when the bad guys try to unearth an ancient evil, it never ends well for them." Zane advised them.
"Yeah. Just ask Pythor, Master Chen, Morro, or even Garmadon himself!" Jay listed off.
"Hmm, then it's a good thing the Quiet One isn't a bad guy, but a bad prince." Ultra Violet says with a wink and the Sons of Garmadon all laughed.
Nya frowned then tested the chains tying them with her arms.
"Careful, ninja. I wouldn't want to upset the child." Ultra Violet says, tossing up her Sai as she wrapped an arm around young Wu's neck while says child giggled.
"Let's just hope Harumi discovers Lloyd's secret before his help arrives." Cole whispered to Jay as the Bounty cruised ahead.
Speaking of Harumi, she and Lloyd were running along a rapidly collapsing pathway. Lloyd yelped as he almost fell off but Harumi helped him up and they continued to run.
"Almost there!" Harumi yelled before they both jumped into the narrow walkway, panting heavily. "Are you okay?" She asked him.
"Yeah, but it's hard to see." Lloyd told her.
Harumi spotted an unlit torch in the walkway on the wall before picking it up. She then used her green energy to light it, holding it up as she lead the way.
"What is this place?" Lloyd asked in awe as they looked around the room.
They spotted a painting on the wall then.
"It's their story." Harumi says, looking over the pictures painted on the wall.
"Who?" Lloyd asked, confused.
"The Oni. See there? It's amazing." Harumi awed, holding the light to the paintings.
"They must have built this place." Lloyd says, looking around.
"When the First Spinjitzu Master escaped their world, they must have come looking for him." Harumi says as they continued ti look around.
"Who?" Lloyd asked her.
"The Oni. He was the key to winning their eternal war with the Dragons. Ninjago was a new world to them. The Oni must've holed up here. Explains all the traps. Must not have wanted any visitors." Harumi explained then sighed. "This is a dead end." She says, looking around again but Lloyd spotted something.
"Look, the symbol from earlier." He says, pointed it out and Harumi walked over, looking at it. "Maybe you can break through one of these walls. If the symbol is on here, this one must be booby trapped." He says, stepping back.
"Hmm. Worth a shot." Harumi ssys then gathered green energy her fist before pausing, letting the energy die down.
"What's wrong?" Lloyd asked her.
"If the Oni wanted to protect the mask, they would know anyone who got this far would avoid the markings." Harumi pointed out.
"What do you mean?" Lloyd asked, puzzled.
"This has to be the way." Harumi says, turning to the marked wall.
"But you see the water?" Lloyd says, gesturing to the small irrigation system in the ground filled with water. "If you break the wrong wall, this whole room will flood." He warned.
"Mm-hmm. Then I sure hope I'm right." She says, handing the torch to him then blasted the marked wall with his green energy, making it crumble without flooding the room. "Ha. Let's go." She says, leading him into the next room.
Lloyd gasped, seeing the final mask on display, surrounded by  purple fire.
"The Mask of Hatred." He says as they walked along the path to get there.
Harumi held the torch up, looking around but didn't notice that on the sides of the path waited a long fall. She slipped, the torch falling as she held on, not wanting to fall. Lloyd helped her up however and they made their way towards the mask.
Lloyd walked past her and reached out to grab it but couldn't get past the flames. "Only someone with Oni blood can take the mask." He says, stepping aside so Harumi could get the mask.
She walked up the pedestal then looked at her hands before reaching out and taking the mask.
"Can I-Can I see it?" Lloyd asked, reaching out to take the mask from her but Harumi kept it out of reach. "I just want to see it." He says but Harumi frowned, looking down at the mask.
"How did you know?" Harumi asked and Lloyd blinked, taken aback.
"It's an Oni Temple. It's safe to assume only an Oni could take it." Lloyd says with a smile, realising that he slipped up.
"No. How could you know that I was part Oni?" Harumi asked, turning away once he got closer.
"You're related to the First Spinjitzu Master. He was an Oni." Lloyd says as his explanation, trying to secretly take the mask again but Harumi turned around to face him.
"I never told you that. Jay and I were alone when Mistaké told us the story. You were never there." Harumi says, looking upset ad she held the mask out of his reach.
"Then I must've heard it from Jay." Lloyd says, grabbing onto the mask but she pulled it away from him.
"I don't want to believe it. You're the Quiet One?" Harumi asked, as Lloyd turned away, crossing his arms.
"How could you say that?" Lloyd asked, sounding hurt before turning around to look at her, the perfect picture of a victim.
Harumi turned away from him, shock and hurt gripping her heart as she leaned against the pedestal, holding the mask in one hand.
"It all makes sense now." Harumi whispered as Lloyd crept up behind her, reaching for the mask. "'The greatest villain is the one you never knew was there in the first place.' You said that." She says, turning around to face him and he quickly composed himself back into helpless victim mode.
"Oh, yes. I'm the criminal mastermind. How could I have done this?" Lloyd says, turning Harumi to look at him, green eyes on green. "Do you realize how silly you're sounding? I would never do something like that. Especially not to you..." He says softly before smiling at her as he cupped her cheek.
"Because I... I love you." He whispered then leaned in to kiss her.
Harumi wanted to believe but... She pushed him away.
"Stay. Back." She warned, glaring at him.
"Rumi..." Lloyd whispered, hurt.
"You only wanted me to get the mask you could't find." Harumi says as she backed up, Lloyd closing in on her.
"I didn't need you to find the mask. It would've already been mine had your idiotic friends not stolen Wu from us." Lloyd says with a smirk.
"The baby is Master Wu?" Harumi gasped, eyes wide.
"Oh, that's right. You didn't know." He says nonchalantly, placing a hand on his hip, giving her a sly smirk before he walked towards Harumi again. "I knew to keep you close. Not everything goes to plan." He says, grasping her shoulders.
"Give me the mask." He says, holding onto the mask but Harumi pulled it away.
"No." Harumi says firmly, backing away. "I can't let you bring my father back. Not like that." She says as Lloyd scowled.
"Well, then if you won't give it to me... Hua-yah!" He yelled as he spin kicked her away, making her drop the mask between them as she landed a distance away. "Then I will take it!" He yelled, glaring at her.
Harumi returned the glare and Lloyd yelled as he lunged at the mask but Harumi used her energy to hit the mask, making it soar through the air.
They both looked at where it fell towards the edge of thr platform before Lloyd got up to get it.
"Why?!" Harumi yelled, lunging at him and pinning him to the ground.
"I never asked to be a prince." Lloyd growled then flipped them, pressing Harumi to the ground instead. "Just as I never asked to be an orphan, but you gifted me that." He growled at her and Harumi flipped them again.
"How did I do that?" Harumi asked from on top of him.
"The Great Devourer. It was too strong." Lloyd says, pushing her up. "Too big for you and your friends." He says, pushing her on her back before laughing softly, sweetly even.
"Oh, Rumi. You aren't so naive to think no one got hurt that day, did you?" He asked, voice coated in honey as he tilted her chin up.
She threw him off then, glaring at him.
"It wasn't until the almighty Lord Garmadon saved the day!" Lloyd yelled as he got up. "But he couldn't save my family." He says sadly, looking down.
"It was too late." He whispered then closed his eyes, a sneer tugging at his mouth. "I died that day, too." He says and Harumi glanced back at the mask before gathering her green energy.
"Give me one reason not to say goodbye to it right now." Harumi told him and Lloyd spun around quickly at that.
"I'll give you two! You want to see your father again!" He yelled as she looked back at him then as he wore a sly smile. "And you love me." He says softly, watching as Harumi squeezed her eyes shut to hold back her feeling.
"Ah, your emotions." He says, walking towards her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You can't get rid of them. It's hard to think, isn't it?" He asked, glaring at her as he slowly pulled out a knife.
"I felt those feelings too." He says, smiling sweetly at her, stroking her cheek. "We truly are kindred spirits." He says softly, watching her lean into his touch, a smile on her face.
He yelled as he tried to stab her but Harumi quickly dodged before charging, grabbing his hand holding the knife. He tried to pull away but failed and Harumi took her chance, using her spinjitzu to toss him over the pedestal. She peered over but Lloyd only laughed as he got up, walking towards her with knife in hand.
"You helped put the bug on the ship. You caused the crash." Harumi accused.
"A calculated risk. Your friends were so close to the truth. I couldn't let them stop me." Lloyd says with a shrug, waving his knife.
"Feeding the poor, acting scared? It was all an act?" Harumi yelled at him.
"Ah, yes. The damsel in distress." Lloyd says, throwing himself against the pedestal dramatically with the hand holding the knife over his eyes. "Or in this case: prince. You Ninja really are from another time." He says amused, turning over on the slab of rock to place his chin in his palm.
"The Emperor and Empress?" Harumi asked him.
"They were never my parents!" He yelled at her, pointing the knife at her. "To protect Ninjago, I had to repress those feelings. I had to wear a mask until the time came for me to take control. I had to be smarter, stronger." He told her, glancing at the mask still laying there.
"You were never protecting Ninjago. You were only after revenge!" Harumi yelled at him.
"Tell me, Harumi, how many times has Ninjago almost fallen on your watch?" Lloyd asked her and she looked down. "How many times have you Ninja failed and let others pay the price?" He growled, throwing the knife at her she barely caught in time to prevent it from piercing her chest.
"You're not our protectors. You're just a bunch of little kids playing dress up." Lloyd says with a smirk, slowly approaching her as she held the knife up defensively. "Ninjago is my home too. And with your father by my side, we can return it to glory. Give it the leader it truly deserves." He says then ran at the mask, picking it up but Harumi lunged at him, making him drop the mask.
He growled as he got up then punched at her but she grabbed his hand and wrapped it under her arm. He grunted as he spun himself free, grabbing the knife from her as he did. Harumi yelled as she charged at him but Lloyd kicked her back, laughing as he readjusted his hair. Harumi got up slowly and Lloyd gasped to see her the mask in hand.
"Then I guess this is goodbye." Harumi says with a glare before tossing the mask off the edge of the platform.
"No!" Lloyd yelled, jumping after it and Harumi watched as he did, wide eyed.
Both mask and Lloyd went over the edge. Harumi rushed over and was ashamed to admit that she felt relieved to see Lloyd holding on to the knife, holding the mask. She reached a hand out for him to take but Lloyd looked down at his hand not holding the knife before laughing once he lifted the mask, putting it on.
"Okay, so that didn't go as planned." Harumi says wide eyed as Lloyd jumped up ontobrhe platform.
"This isn't going to be a fair fight." Lloyd says, voice morphed deeper due to the mask as he tossed her the knife, wholly smug now that he knew he has won.
"What did the mask do to you?" Harumi asked him, looking over his larger, grey form with cracks of glowing purple with horror.
"The Mask of Hatred. A taste of invincibility. Too bad for you." He says sympathetically before charging at her with a yell.
Harumi ducked and rolled forward, grabbing the knife and slicing at him in passing but when she came to a stop, she was surprised to see that the knife was broken. Lloyd only laughed, turning to her. This should be fun.
Meanwhile, the Sons of Garmadon parked the Bounty at the temple's entrance.
"I've got an itch. You mind coming over here to scratch it?" Nya asked Ultra Violet.
"Shut it, disco girl!" She yelled and Nya looked wildly confused.
Disco girl?
Chopper Maroon on the other hand laughed at Wu after he triped. Wu got angry however and jumped on his back, giggling madly and making him bump into the nearby table.
"Get off me!" He yelled, running around with Wu on his back.
"Huh." Nya says once she spotted the keys on the table.
Down at the temple, Killow tried to break down the wall with his fists but failed.
"I can't break through. It looks like we wait." He says, tightening his fists.
"Eh, what if the Green Ninja returns with the mask first?" A SOG asked him.
"The Quiet One will not fail." Killow says, glaring over at him.
Lloyd threw Harumi on the mask's pedestal, making her grunt on impact, losing what was left of the knife. She panted as Lloyd walked over to her.
"Hurt me all you want, but I'm never gonna let you get away with this." Harumi says determinedly as she sat up.
"Physical pain can only hurt so much. I intend far worse." Lloyd says, chucking afterwards.
"Then what do you want?" Harumi asked, after picking back up the broken knife, holding it defensively as she stood.
"I want you to feel the emptiness that I feel! When your father is reborn, he won't be the man you recognize! His soul will be gone and I want his cold hands to destroy you!" Lloyd yelled at her.
"You're a monster!" Harumi yelled at him.
"Maybe so... But aren't we all?" Lloyd asked lightly, circling her.
"I don't care what you say. I'll never feel what you feel!" Harumi yelled at him and Lloyd chuckled low.
"We will see." He says as he walked away.
"Fight me. Let's end it here!" Harumi yelled at him and Lloyd paused, glancing at her determined face from over his shoulder.
"Naive, pathetic Harumi..." He says, shaking his head. "Don't you see? I'm already two steps ahead." He says before running off, his laughter echoing as he went.
Harumi watched him go, heart in pieces and the knowledge that he had the final mask making it worse. Her eyes widened once water began to rush into the room.
Oh no.
