I think ive just fixed my issues with writing
I love to write fics and make my silly little ideas into something bigger but sometimes the pressure to feel great gets too much and my passion for it disappears. however recently my mindset has changed and i see now that writing is an art form so there cannot be a right or wrong so even if its not written in beautiful prose it can still be pretty in its own respect. its all about expressing yourself and getting your ideas out there, so by limiting myself to the mindset of 'this has to be perfect' is stopping me from enjoying my hobby to the fullest.
'but how do we combat this?' you say. well, for me, something as simple as switching where i write has massively helped take the pressure off because it doesnt feel like im trying to write a fic, it just feels like im messing around. personally, ive started using the notepad that comes on windows computers because it doesnt give you that dreaded blank page when you write because it just expands as you go. by writing on there i had fun writing a cute little oneshot and i didnt feel limited by the need to be great which just dries up all my creative juices and got something out that i actually like this time around.
your hobby can become a chore if you take it too seriously and wheres the fun in that?!
do what you love and love doing it
