sing prompt: write about those three russian bears doing something that isn't hunting mike, maybe having a more low-key time at the club
Sure! I didn’t really know what you wanted and the bears are pretty minor characters (I can’t find their names or even the people who voiced them anywhere), so I kept this short.
The names of the bears are taken from the co-producer (Igor Khait, who passed before Sing was released. He was married to Gayle and they had children, Isabelle and Elias. This is kind of dedicated to him, I suppose), co-director (Christophe Lourdelet) and director/writer (Garth Jennings).
Enjoy!
“Oy!” Garth signaled the bartender. “Another round of drinks!”
“I can’t believe she’s going to be 10,” Igor drew a hand over his face. “I remember when my little Izzy was born. It was just yesterday!”
“I hate to break it to you, but it wasn’t just yesterday. It was 10 years ago.”
Igor shoved Christophe in annoyance. “She’ll be starting high school in a couple of years. Elias graduates from kindergarten this year.”
Garth gave his friend a pat on the back. “It’s alright. You’ve still got plenty of time with them. They’ll be kids for many more years.”
Nodding his head, Igor sighed. “You both are coming to her party, right?” A waiter brought their drinks over, setting a new glass in front of each bear and clearing the empty ones. “She misses her uncles. Gayle’s been asking about you too.”
“Of course we will!” Christophe exclaimed. “And we’ll spoil her rotten too!”
Garth nodded in agreement. “What does she want? A car? A castle? An island?”
“No, no, no,” Igor refused. “She just wants you two there. No fussing over her.”
“That’s what birthdays are for!” Christophe protested.
“Fine. But nothing too extravagant. You can’t embarrass what the other guests bring like you two did last time.”
“I’m not agreeing to that.”
“Me neither.”
Igor sighed again. It was hopeless.
“A toast,” Christophe raised his glass, “to Izzy.”
“Here, here!” Garth cheered. The three clinked their glasses before downing their drinks.
“Barkeep!” Christophe shouted over the music. “Round number three! And keep them coming!”
A note to all of my followers who send me Sing prompts: Please do not send anymore requests until FEBRUARY 10 (FRIDAY). I have so many unfilled requests in my inbox that I’m stressing out to keep up with them. I think a week will give me enough time to catch up on what I’m missing, so just save all your requests for a few days please!
