Let's keep talking about Astrology!

When I was studying Traditional Astrology, one of our first lessons was to relate fictional characters to planets. Because the planets are the "living beings" walking in the sky, not the signs. So let me try to do it with Ikepri, but BEWARE I haven't finished all routes yet. These are not my final opinions.

Sun

The Sun character is someone willing to throw away all they have for a cause. The virtuous hero, the martyr, the one who inspires people around to give their best while they, themselves, are lonely -- because charismatic people may attract others to gather around them, but they are ultimately lonely.

Maybe I would put Leon here and sometimes Jin acts like this but is not a Sun himself.

Moon

Moon is the motherly character, the one who goes out of their way to make sure everyone is safe, warm, well-fed and comfortable. They may also be a little delusional, or a little dramatic, but in the end they are kind, compassionate and altruistic.

Rio is the huge Moon for MC (Chevalier would never, sorry).

Mercury

Mercury is curious, communicative and restless. Mercury characters are usually the tricksters, so avid to know it all they end up messing with absolute truths and order to instill chaos and what it can reveal. They are always on the move and jumping from an interest to another. They are also traders by excellence and very good in negotiating. They can be skeptical and way too rational.

Clavis, hands down. Maybe Silvio. Sometimes Yves and Nokto act like Mercury.

Venus

Beauty and pleasure seekers. Venus characters crave for either comfort or fun. They are the most related to good music, or good food, or the bohemians jumping from bar to bar, bed to bed. They are the diplomatic characters because peace and harmony are the most important things to them. So yes, they avoid conflicts, including internal ones.

Yves and Nokto, Jin to some extent -- but I still wouldn't put him here right away. Nice!Keith, most likely, at least in the way he acts towards people. I guess Luke but I'm still unsure.

Mars

The warrior. The one who will throw themselves in battle no matter the cause or the ways they'll use to succeed. Mars characters are energetic, confronting, and they can be either barbarians or excellent strategists. But they are always related to war or competition, to win and to prove themselves to be the best.

Gilbert, Alter!Keith, sometimes Chevalier, maybe Silvio but I'm unsure. I'm almost putting Silvio as a mix of Mercury and Mars.

Jupiter

The great benefactor, the wise tutor, the older brother, the wizard. Jupiter characters are usually the ones who guide, protect and/or cheer for others. Someone you can rely on, but not in a motherly way like the Moon. Also someone who can be fun to be around.

Jin, finally, this is where I would put him.

Saturn

The lone one, but unlike the Sun, they stand in the shadows. Normally harsh and judgemental, they are also diligent, mature, responsible, and they can be reliable even if they are cold and hard to reach. As characters, they are usually the elder, the anti-hero (the anti-Sun), or the beast in its essence -- the one who keeps everyone away and inspires fear.

Chevalier, Licht, Sariel, probably Gilbert, sometimes both Keiths in a way.

Again, I haven't finished all routes so I may revisit this post in the future.

Hey, just read that you’ve completed Sariel’s route. He’s the only one I haven’t done. Nearly finished Keith’s. Anything to spoil? I love spoilers so it doesn’t matter to me. Did he get abandoned as a child because I don’t know if this was a fever dream or in a fanfiction but I read that and I don’t know if it’s true. Because I learnt something about Gilbert from people who had read the Japanese version and written fanfiction and I asked someone else about it and they told me that was actually true (this piece of information changed my view of Gilbert in his interactions with the little rabbit).

So from what I was able to garner about Sariel is that he wasn't really abandoned perse. But it holds heavy keys to that and according to the story that comes with completing both ends (ie it might have been the romantic epilogue, both are blurring rn but I have them saved) it alludes to him having lost both of his parents due to situations beyond their own control, part of which connects into the lore behind his tattoo, although they don't give much more into it other than it's the "Mark of a Devil", they do give some wayward explanation to it but in a weird way it didn't feel super solid. It also alludes to the potentiality that this man might ALSO contain royal blood, largely because of how the two mentioned stories talk of it and also the whole time I was reading that I was basically just Robert 2.0 but Dark Edition?

Although his past has a vague connection to Obsidian in a way that's interesting (to me) and rounds us back to acknowledging once more to the accumulation of countries and so forth. Sometimes we gotta remember the Obsidian routes cause after doing Silvio's & Keith's route.... I forgot.

It does give some King lore, but fuck that guy. Which is irrelevant but also relevant? Depends on who you ask. He sucks either way, plot-wise I get why he didn't die when he originally wanted to die. But that doesn't mean we have to be happy about it cause a lot, and by that I mean, everyone- Would have preferred otherwise.

BUT Sariel's route is like- hella slow-burn, I don't know what the side stories allude to for him since keys are a little bit of a pain to obtain (right now I'm trying to unlock all of Chevalier's side stories) But there isn't full romance in either route endings until the very end. If you REALLY love the slow burn, then it's worth it. If not so much then his route is def one that'll be a bit of a struggle. But also makes sense because of his position, what he did before his position, and trust issues.

I personally found his route really enjoyable but that's also because I have the biggest softest part in my heart for Sariel and he's the reason I chose to give IkePri a chance.

Both endings do give Gilbert some spotlight time, though I preferred him a little in the Dramatic ending, while the Romantic ending for Sariel's showed a little more of just how terrifying Gilbert can actually be. Though my takeaway with Gilbert in Sariel's route endings is how he's just kinda giving the vibes of "Goddammit, ya blew it."

Obviously it's the tip of the Iceberg with him, fans who have read his route obviously know way more than I do about the Forbidden Gilbert Lore™️.

Also I still know nothing about Gilbert because I'm purposely keeping myself in the dark about it, largely because it's a test of wills and also because I want to be gut-punched with the knowledge about him. Man has gotta work to get me even a lil invested.

I take that for granted. I helped a man who had collapsed on a rainy day. I don't regret it.

But there is such a thing as compatibility.

The man who was down is not necessarily a good match for me.

Silvio: Hey, woman. How long are you going to keep me waiting?

MC: Oh, you snacked again!

On the way to the table, Silvio takes the dish away from me and takes the fricassee, which is made by boiling the ingredients in fresh cream.

I picked up on a rainy day a man who remembered nothing but his own name.

At first I didn't think he would be a disaster for women.

I worried about him, but Silvio was a tyrant of the highest order, demanding everything from "you must call me by my name" to "cook my meals," "make my bed," "I'll pay you, but you must serve me," and so on.

Silvio: I'm hungry. Don't waste my time.

MС: If you want to go that far, why don't you go out and eat?

MС: I told you I don't need money for food.

Silvio: Huh?

MС: Nothing!

Silvio is always like this, so much so that it is ridiculous to care about him.

When Silvio sat down, the jingling and the jewellery he wore made a loud noise.

I also sit opposite and look directly at Silvio.

Silvio: What?

MC: Silvio*, you don't have to live in this house any longer, not even for the food, do you?

Silvio: I don't see any connection between the success of the business and the reason for living in this house.

Gilbert vs Chevalier

I just love the look on the Prince of Obsidian's face. You can't tell he's 'absolute evil'.

Gilbert: "I don't like the idea of you doubting me. Just so you know, I'm not going to hurt your little rabbit.

In brief (No... I have a crush on Gilbert):

Gilbert meets someone at the church and arranges something. We are taken to the heroine and Chevalier, who are together in the library. Just reading, not disturbing each other. Chevalier decides to walk her to her room. There the murderer or kidnapper was waiting. While Chevalier was dealing with that, Gilbert came in. The girl was frightened. Deciding to go out on the balcony, she was followed by both princes. Gilbert tries to find out why someone wants the girl. Cheva makes it clear that he knows the killer or kidnapper was from Obsidian.

Gilbert replies:

1. I do not breed such vermin/parasites in my country.

2. I have no reason to steal Bunny-san.

"I don't like the idea of you doubting me. Just so you know, I'm not going to hurt your little rabbit.

3. Bunny-san, you should be more suspicious of other people that you are of me.

4. The man who was just killed was a traitor to Rodolite.

Clavis Lelouch. Propose to you. Epilogue (+17).

After the engagement ceremony, MC went around showing off her engagement dress to the nation. After much congratulation and satisfaction, the moment finally came.

Clavis: Well, MC. What do you think the first thing I would do after I became your fiancé?

MC: ....

Clavis: MC.

MC: ... This is a discussion about the future!

Clavis: Yeah, to get your first time!

(Well, that's easy to understand, my fiancée).

As we boarded the carriage and drove up to the mansion, MC's eyes began to wander.

Her cheeks were flushed, and she was clearly aware of what lay ahead of her.

Clavis: But in that situation you surely don't run away.

MC: That's ...

Clavis: Would you like to run away?

As I spread my arms, MC sitting across from me froze with a worried expression on her face.

She had been jumping on my chest a lot lately when I did this...

Well, it doesn't work out...

Clavis: Hmmm, i'm gonna handcuff you right now.

MC: No way!

Clavis: How about a rope?

MC: .... Why did you decide to detain me?

Clavis: It would be sad if you ran away the first night.

MС: Don't worry. I really won't run away!

MC: I'm just... I'm just, you know, nervous...

Clavis: Don't be ridiculous. We've done this and that before, remember?

MC: I know... I know. But... I feel different. I mean...

Many said that Ikemen Prince is the darkest Ikemen series as of late. I agree. And I wonder if they would ever release an alternative TRAGIC END to IkePri in the future after they have exhausted everything. Because, as much as I fear it, that would certainly fit IkePri's "dark theme" as well. The "Grimm fairytale version". 🌑

(Warning: lots of spoilers below)

*IDK how to make a spoiler cut, sorry*

So, If IkePri had a tragic end... I imagine it would probably go like this for each route:

Chevalier: Belle would die protecting Chevalier.

"Why...?"

"Didn't I promise you, Prince Chevalier? I will show you..that love has value. I promised..."

After many years, Chevalier finally found his human "heart", but at that very moment, it also shattered into a million pieces.

(In exchange for Belle's fulfilling her promise, Chevalier makes a promise to Belle that he will work on for the rest of his life...)

Chevalier becomes a King, sitting on that cold throne alone. He never marries and appoints his nephews as candidates to the throne (Like Genbu Kaiden ending). But unlike his father who was driven to insanity with the passing of his beloved, Chevalier makes an effort to become the King his Belle hoped him to be - an exceptional King with a human heart... He makes an effort with the shattered pieces of his heart. So that in the end (unlike his father), he can meet Belle in the afterlife proudly...and Belle, smiling warmly (You did well, my King. I was watching...)

Really, I wonder how the previous King faced his Belle in the afterlife. Even King Senka (Saiunkoku Monogatari) did better and, at least, fulfilled his promise to his true beloved.

(Cliche but honestly, when Belle said she will prove to Chevalier the value of love, I expected something like Belle putting her life at risk for Chev in the dramatic route...but it turned out to be the other way around. )

Clavis: Clavis doing a true "Code Geass Lelouch route" - wherein he usurps the throne from Chevalier in a cold, brutal, chaotic fashion. All his other brothers, subjugated while Chevalier was forced to kneel to him in the end. Clavis kills Belle in front of Chev to add to his misery.

All hail, King Clavis! 👏

Rhodolite, once the Kingdom of Roses, becomes the Kingdom of Chaos.

Licht: An alternate ending of the dramatic route wherein, ironically, Licht dies just when he has finally found his will to live... That would have been very tragic and regrettable.

But they promise to find each other again in their next life.

Nokto: Either Licht dies protecting Nokto again and Nokto living the rest of his life as "King Licht" (completely discarding his own self in a way to atone while fulfilling his promise to be the Number One king to Licht)

- OR Nokto ends up really marrying the Jadean princess and being separated from MC forever.

Yves: Yves having a mental breakdown due to despair and disillusionment following the "incident" with Obsidian and developing a split personality/DID (ala Keith) for real.

He switches between two persona: (1) the kind Yves, the Rhodolitian prince, (2) the ruthless Yves, the Obsidian prince. His brothers found out about #2 after Yves served them a poisoned cake and Yves laughed at how easily fooled they are.

But true to her promise in Ch9 ("I'm here for you, I'll always believe in you no matter what people say about you"), Belle stays by his side all throughout.

Luke: Based from spoilers, I feel like Luke's dramatic end is almost like a tragic end. MC went with him but he was expelled from Rhodolite and ended up being alienated from his brothers--his last living family /blood siblings. They are family but he wasn't officially recognized as part of them. AGAIN and again, to his ONLY blood family, he doesn't even EXIST.

Leon: Leon being "discovered" and dying with the regret of failing to fulfill the wish /legacy of the true Leon.

- OR better yet, Leon becoming THE king but in the end, his ideologies and pacifism aren't enough to create a happy kingdom. He, along with his citizens, gets pathetically crushed by Gilbert von Obsidian.

(I, very honestly, have always thought that in times of peace, Leon would have been the perfect King but not in THAT timeline where an exceptional villain like Gilbert von Obsidian exists. Rhodolite needs someone who can go head to head with Gilbert, aka Chevalier. Leon was at the right place at the wrong time.

I can't help but compare the circumstances to Saiunkoku Monogatari. Before the Kingdom of Saiunkoku achieved peace and Ryuuki (who hated wars) became king, there was THE King Senka--ruthless and feared by all-- who brought an end to the hundred years of war in Saiunkoku. The one and only King Senka.

Jin: I can't think of anything, haha! I don't know much about his story. Maybe, Jin and Belle will go separate ways in the end. Even though Jin can probably do something about Clause 99, a deep part of him feels guilty being with Belle because it seemed unfair to his mother. His beloved mother couldn't be with his father. Why can Jin/Belle be together but his mother/the previous King can't? It just feels unfair and he feels he hasn't done anything significant to deserve something different. And he's stubborn. So he lets her go.

Rio: Rio ends up heartbroken in every route except his own. So, let's not make it even more difficult for him. On the other hand, he deserves a thousand happy endings!

Gilbert Von Obsidian: Something that I read very randomly somewhere... It just fits. I immediately thought of Gilbert and if his route had a tragic end:

"He loved me. But he ruined my kingdom. He killed my family. And he enslaved me."

Tragic, DARK, end.

Keith: Well, simply put: Dark Keith accidentally kills Belle...and then Belle dies in the arms of good Keith. Keith having a total mental breakdown -- dark Keith completely taking over and good Keith locked away forever. Dark Keith goes on aggressive mode and invades the other kingdoms. Bye, Neutral Jade.

Silvio: I can't really think of anything... Since he seems to be very grounded person, maybe, reality biting both of them in the ass... It's no fairytale.

- Belle, being a commoner and Rhodolitian, ending up as his mistress (and not a legit queen). He loves Belle, but can only hide her / alienate her from everything else. And he's too selfish to let her go, he wasn't a good person. It's not ideal, but they would make do with that if they can be together.

- OR, better yet: He chooses the throne over Belle. They go separate ways in the end. Belle in Rhodolite (with Rio) and him, in Benitoite with his loveless marriage. Theirs was a fleeting romance, it felt like an illusion.

Belle who loved reading love stories no longer believes in fairytales.

Actually, Yves becoming the Rhodolite King is tragic for Silvio. He's no longer the most fashionable king. It's a HORROR and he can't accept it. He HAS TO BE The.Most.Fashionable.King.Ever. And he becomes more vain than he is now. Now, that is the real tragedy! 🤣

Silvio (every fucking day): "Mirror, Mirror on the wall. Tell me, who is the most glamorous of them all?" 🤣🤣

SARIEL: Hmm, difficult... (but oh boy, I enjoyed it so I edited this one with a little backstory). It is unrealistic but let's just make his tragic end dark and twisted then:

- In a twist of events and Gilbert's evil manipulation, Belle ends up betraying Rhodolite and stabbed Sariel in the back. With tears falling from her eyes, she looks at him straight in the eye and her next words are cold, bittersweet, and haunting:

"Sariel, you made a mistake in choosing me."

Once upon a time, there was an angel who fell from grace. He was a benevolent angel of death who comforted and cared for humans more than anyone. The angel was called Sariel.

But one day, under the ethereal moonlight, Sariel fell in love with a human--a dazzling beauty with the purest heart. His love for her was so deep and desperate that he could not bear to see her suffer and die. In his moment of weakness, he let the devil trick him and he betrayed his most benevolent Master in an attempt to change one human's fate. Realizing his sin, Sariel begged God for forgiveness. The brand of the devil on his hand can no longer be erased but he still wanted to repent, and so, Sariel humbly accepted punishment for his sin.

Sariel, one of the most radiant and powerful leaders of angels, was banished from heaven. He was punished to become a human servant and to suffer the deep pain of betrayal from the hands of his most beloved for nine human lifetimes. Only then will his sin be forgiven and he can be with his beloved, as a human.

In his eighth human lifetime, in the Kingdom of Roses, Sariel became the loyal servant to the King who was a fallen beast. After the King passed away, he went on in search of a commoner to choose the next King of Rhodolite. He found Belle--a dazzling beauty with the purest heart... And Sariel, the fallen angel with no memories of his past sin, fell in love with her again.

Just me and my crazy ideas...I'm hungry and sleep deprived.

I love IkePri. It's fun to think of different scenarios! But of course, I prefer the FAIRYTALE endings
