Hey, in case you're not writing for the OT6 anymore feel free to ignore this ask. But I thought I could give a prompt? Only if you want, of course! It's just that scene where Viggo (in canon) assumes that Astrid and Hiccup are together and blackmails hiccup with it? What if Hiccup corrects that assumption, snarkily of course, and says that Astrid is only ONE of his lovers... Or something like that? Maybe he's vague to not jeopardize the others, but still does it to get a rise out of Viggo...?

Ah, yes, that moment in Shell Shocked Part 2 where he says, “To be in love with a girl who is your partner in battle?” I’ve thought about it a lot, heh. I’ve made an addition once before.

While I doubt I’d write a fic for this prompt, I do want to talk about it! Because that scene is great and thinking about it with an OT6 lens is fun. (And I love talking about the OT6!)

Viggo’s purpose in that scene is to annoy Hiccup and try to get in his head, upset him. And Hiccup does visibly have a reaction (that Viggo is not able to see) to the “partner in battle” comment, though he tries to conceal it, and doesn’t respond to Viggo right away. (He waits until the “vexing” line and then tells him off.)

Now ignoring how the rest of the scene goes, let’s say Viggo says the line: “To be in love with a girl who is your partner in battle?” And that Hiccup’s reaction instead of his attempt at nonreaction is a semi-mumbled and snarky, “Way to ignore all the other partners I love.” Which is just vague enough that it doesn’t tell Viggo much, just that Hiccup has more than one partner. 

I could see Viggo being taken aback/surprised by this information because it does derail what he was about to say (who has probably prepared this speech like the way Frozone describes monologuing in The Incredibles), which certainly would be a bonus for Hiccup, because it shuts Viggo up, at least briefly. And they can move on to the Submaripper. And any attempt that Viggo has at asking more information (because surely he would want the goss) is met with what he tells him in canon, “Let’s leave our personal lives out of this and get down to business.” (To defeat the Huns).

I do have a feeling that Viggo might figure out that Hiccup’s other partners are likely the other Riders, no matter how vague he makes his comment.

AU in which Hiccup is the last person to be added to make the OT5 the OT6. The Riders know how far Hiccup has come on a social level (since we have pretty much established Hiccup had little to no social skills growing up.) and don't want to ruin his progress by involving him in something he may not be ready for yet. But Hiccup isn't a fool and notices that there is something going on with them that he isn't aware off. The Riders feel him growing distant and decide to show him the truth. Y/N? :D

I like this. 

I mean, I like to think Hiccup is very central to the OT6, as a whole, but that’s probably because he’s my number 1 favorite and all. And also he’s the reason (and Toothless) why they became Dragon Riders in the first place, starting their whole thing. 

I could definitely see him being aware of like, how they touch each other. And maybe at first just chalks it how they all are with each other, but like… yeah, he notices it. 

I can picture it like being the case circa S1 and S2, because I could see like, Fishlegs/Snotlout and Astrid/Fishlegs/Snotlout happening in S1, and then like, after Ruff and Fishlegs get technically not legally married… the twins get added to it. 

And I could feel Astrid feeling super guilty about not telling Hiccup about this thing because he relies on her and she knows he’s had a thing for her for ages, but she also knew that yeah… as of I’ve said before: he didn’t need a girlfriend, he needed a friend. (And honestly, a 15-year-old who literally just experienced huge war-related trauma and lost a leg would not have the mental spoons to handle a romantic relationship(s).) And also, Fishlegs, just because that’s the kind of person he is. 

But yeah, I could see him sort of feeling alienated by whatever dynamic he feels he isn’t aware of and kinda pulls away from them, and they finally are like... yeah, we need to tell him, and how we definitely all want to include him. 

And they definitely show him. Yes, they do show him. 🍆 (As in: Hiccup’s first sexual experience is with five people as Thor intended. I can see Fishlegs or Astrid being like, “Be gentle with him! It’s his first time!”)

So, yes.
