Into the Subway Train Pt 1
Yugen looked through the dark and lonely subway trains. It was so eerie and silent as if you could hear a pin dropped. They looked both sides and continued walking. Their college buddies were talking about the so-called ‘ghosts’ from the Nimbas city Subway train.
To lighten the mood for themselves, Yugen jokingly say, “Hey my name is Yugen. You’re probably wondering how I got in this position.”
Yugen recalled their friends saying that the dead twins roam the halls since it was rumored that when a subway tunnel collapsed under them both. To which the rumors were then circulated that the ghost of one of the twins haunt the subway trains. To which you guessed it, a lot of ghost hunters and explorers of the unnatural trying to catch them on tape were always breaking and entering the subway trains to film them. Yugen kept telling their friends that they would never ever! Go into the trains at night.
Was it because they would get in trouble? Well… it wouldn’t be the first time that Yugen was caught in trouble with the staff but no not really. It was mostly because Yugen does believe in ghosts but it was due to the upbringing they were brought up. How ghosts should be respected but how you should never mess with them. Yugen shivered when their grandmother’s solution was to get rid of spirits with home remedies that brought really bad memories. In hindsight, Yugen always respected the spirited and wouldn’t want to give them a reason to get violent with them. But when their friends from college gave up on persuading Yugen, they turned to their cousin, Soleil. Who, mind you, had a weak constitution and was told by their grandmother that she could see ghosts but the image they would show up is when they died. So Soleil who might see a subway twin covered in blood paired with that ability is a sure fine way for her to be easily possessed by an unwanted ghost. Yugen can’t imagine how many ceremonies that Soleil’s family had performed throughout the years due to Soleil’s condition. So when their friends in college tried to make Soleil do it, Yugen took up the offer. And that’s how Yugen got here.
“Hey there demons… It’s ya boi.” When they were met with silence, they took a huge deep inhale and exhale, not before coughing.
“Dust!! Dust in ma mouth!!” As they coughed a dark shadow took notice of them. They were already walking towards the young fellow, their attempt at helping them by patting their back was a bit fruitless. Since their hand phased through. Which was to be suspected. Since Ingo, the ghost of the train twins was well… a ghost.

Into the Subway Train Pt 2
After Yugen was able to get everything under control of their coughing fit, Ingo kept trying to get their attention. “Sir! (Madam?) ugh anyways, You shouldn’t be here! This place is off limits!”
Ingo kept trying to get Yugen’s attention, but it was to no avail despite him already yelling with his loud voice. But he perked up when Yugen looked over their shoulder and looked him in the eyes.
For a second, Ingo thought he finally got to them but that hope quickly deflated when Yugen rubbed their shoulders and looked around. Ingo tried to keep hope up since usually the people who stayed up later in here (the ghost hunters) would always just keep going forward and wouldn’t take notice of him. But Yugen could feel as if someone was looking at them. Ingo tried again to talk but Yugen interrupted him.
“Ah that’s right,” they walked past Ingo and walked the other way. Ingo thought they were walking back to the exit as he sighed in relief. Although he still followed them to make sure they got out safely. What he didn’t expect was for them to stop at the small memorial for him and his brother. There were flower bouquets and small flowers in jars of water over the glazed plate of their names embedded on it.
“What are they-” before ingo could finish that sentence, Yugen opened their bag and placed a small bouquet of flowers in front of their engraved names. Ingo stepped sideways and noticed how the young fellow’s eyes were downcast. Their bubbly personality seemed to have quieted down as they just kneeled down, sitting on their heels as they stared at the names of the dead twins. Ingo didn’t know what Yugen was thinking and he himself was wracking his head if he ever encountered this person, but nothing came to mind despite Yugen being a very noticeable character. Their appearance just screams that nobody would forget them if you were to spot them in a crowd. With their turquoise-colored hair with specks of purple hair strands popping up as well as their blackened eyes with their pupils being gray (which could have been explained as eye contacts). Even their clothes were on the border of being normal everyday wear to being very street punk. Although their appearance did make it difficult if they were either a male or a female.  Ingo reasoned that maybe this person just really respects the dead, but his mind was interrupted when he noticed that the person in question started walking away back to the direction they were originally going to. It took Ingo awhile to process this whole exchange, not before yelling after them, trying to catch up to them.

Into the Subway Train Pt 5 Finale
warnings: Possession
[Inspired by @harveyb-wabbit92 's haunted rail au]
Before Yugen fell, two gloved hands hovered over their hand as if he was going to catch them. The conductor closed his eyes and he whispered softly, “Forgive me.”
Slowly opening their eyes, Ingo looked at his newly possessed body. Making sure to check every safety check. That everything was functioning well. That he did everything correct by possessing someone. Opening their palm in and out. Testing to see if the possessed was conscious. He noted that Yugen was out like a light. Then, he looked at Yugen’s Pokémon. He was a bit surprised when their Pokémon could tell something was wrong with their trainer, but they couldn’t do anything because of the beast in front of them.
“Very smart pokemon,” Ingo thought to himself. He straightened his back, raised his right hand forward towards the beast and his other arm lowered down, his hands pointed downward.
As he declared, “I am subway boss Ingo! All trains have departed but you are trespassing and have broken many of our established rules! For that you shall be dealt with accordingly. ALL ABOARD!”
Ingo watched Yugen’s battle earlier with the creature as he made a mental note of all the moves Yugen yelled out. Although he knew the move sets of Zephyr, he didn’t know the fourth move set of Mono but he noted how the mischievous shuppet still hadn't done their move yet which made some luck in Ingo’s favor. Especially how the creature had a burn on their lower leg.
Ingo yelled out, “ZEPHYR! USE FLASH!”
Zephyr summoned a bright light which blinded the creature as it cursed out in pain, covering their eyes as Mono took the chance to use her move and got a powerful hit towards the monster as it flinched even more at their burn when they stumbled aback. Ingo took this chance again when the creature tried to regain conscience due to being blinded by the flash.
“MONO! USE PHANTOM FORCE! ZEPHYR! USE NIGHT SLASH!”
As if in the same mind, Mono and Zephyr charged full force at the monster. Mono going a bit faster as it zig zagged in the shadows. The shuppet leaped behind the monster as the absol leaped up, forming a dark blade as they both striked the monster at the same time. Both landed a critical hit before the creature could do anything.
Mono and Zephyr both stepped back, being in front of Ingo. As the three of them watched as the creature fell on its knees. As it yelled, “QRW IDLU! LW’V QRW IDLU!!! L VKRXOG KDYH Z… Zrq…” The creature went silent as all of the monster parts started to glow a white hue. As it slowly turns into white looking fuzzy circles, lifting up in the ceiling. The white fuzzy circles each came off of the monster, turning the monster back into the corpse of the vengeful trainer as it all formed into the shape of a gengar. The gengar looked at the trio and gave a genuine smile not before slowly disappearing.
Ingo sighed but before he could say anything, both Zephyr and Mono were looking at Ingo with a deadpan face. Ingo could feel his sweat dropping at the sight of these pokemon fully knowing that this isn’t their trainer as if his introduction of possession didn’t gave it away.
Raising his hands, he explained, “I promise you both that I will return your trainer as soon as we deal… with this..” He pointed at the dead body of the trainer as Zephyr only gave a ‘hmpth’ as a response as Mono rolled her eyes but they both helped Ingo drag the body but strangely enough. When Ingo grabbed the arms of the trainer, it soon crumbled under his touch. As the whole body turned into ash. Leaving the clothing behind.
The trio went silent and before Ingo could think of anything. Mono used her shadow sneak move to teleport the clothes into the nearest trash. Ingo should be worried about this but it’ll soon be morning soon and people will be coming in (also the glares of the two Pokémon are boring into the back of his head) so it would just be safe to take Yugen’s body in a place where they should be fine. Ingo walked out of the tunnel and walked towards the nearest gear station lobby. After a couple of minutes, Ingo reached his destination. He laid Yugen’s body on a bench and closed his eyes as he pulled himself away from their body. Much to the delight of Yugen’s pokemon. Who, stood near their trainer's side to make sure that no funny business happens near them again.

Into the Subway Train Pt 4
warnings: Pokémon fight scene, injuries, possession, Pokémon hybrid mutation
[Inspired by @harveyb-wabbit92 's haunted rail au]
(Author's note:) Happy Halloween everyone!!!!
Yugen kept walking and walking and didn’t even notice anything strange. Maybe the occasional shiver of the cold of the strange wind but other than that. Nothing! …okay so there was an occasional feeling of someone watching them but still!
Yugen thought for a while and stopped in their steps as they exclaimed mentally at their realization, “I could have just told them that I went without even going!!!!!!” They groaned at their stupidity, but they were already in this mess so might as well go through with it. They muttered angrily as they continued walking through the subway tunnel. Then, Yugen stood frozen in place.
“Was… that?” They turned their head and for a second they thought they saw something or someone? But Yugen has been walking the whole station by themselves and hasn't even seen anyone! Which somewhat raises the question of if the subway station even has security?
“It looked like it came from the tunnel.” Yugen leaned a bit close, crossing the green line that was supposed to let passengers know to not go past that point. They held tightly onto their flashlight as they tried to reason many many! Things to not go. But they had no other choice or else the plot wouldn’t move forward. They hopped down towards the tracks of the subway and started walking towards the tunnel much to a black clad subway master’s dismay.
Like what the old saying goes. Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back.
Yugen pointed the flashlight from the walls to the floor as they tried to look for the strange sighting they saw. Hopefully it wasn’t anything. Maybe it was a Pokémon looking for a scare? That seemed more likely since before the incident, the subway was pretty accident free (excusing a few dumb trainer decisions). Suddenly their flashlight went out. Cursing under their breath, they hit and shake the flashlight. They really really!!!! Did not want to encounter what might possibly be a hypothetical angry ghost. Yugen's grandparents would never forgive them if they accidentally brought home a ghost just so they could exorcise the damn thing!
Yugen muttered in a panic, “Did it ran out of battery-!?”
Then.
A feeling raises the hairs on their skin. Something wet but it was light. They recognize this feeling due to always walking in the early mornings. Raising their heads, they noticed a thin layer of mist floating around. But how could there be mist in a subway train-?
There!
Something moved quickly through the ever growing fog. In an instant Yugen grabbed their pokeballs and summoned their Absol and Shuppet.
Now on high alert, Yugen looked around while their pokemon made sure to be on each side of their trainer. Now all three of them were aware that they weren't alone. Yugen took a deep breath as they yelled.
“ZEPHYR! USE FLASH!”
Zephyr opened his mouth with glowing eyes and shot it on their left as the ball of energy circled back and shined the dark tunnel. Brightening the whole area as Yugen scanned their surroundings and stopped.
Human legs but their feet were huge and wide. One leg resting on the railway tracks while the other limply on the floor. Purple matted the hair of a male that might have been around their early 20s but they looked so... morbid... so... out of place. It was a bit hard to determine if this thing was really a trainer supposed to be in their 20s. Their bright glowing red eyes were bulging out of their eye sockets that Yugen could have sworn that it could have fallen off if it could. Their skin looked ghostly white but there were some spots here and there that were purple. Yugen took note of the dark red stain on the hair. They suspected it was the trainer's blood but for some reason this didn’t look like it could just be any trainer you would find. The being’s arms bent in ways that shouldn’t be possible for any human or Pokémon as every time the being walked, the arms just limply followed the direction of the body. Yugen cringed every time they heard the bones make a noise similar to if you were to crack your knuckles. But most of all, a creepy wide smile donned the trainer’s face. So wide it didn’t look like there was an end to the smile. What… Just is this thing? The being’s smile looked like it just went wider upon locking eyes with Yugen. It opened its mouth as Yugen gulped.
“B… brxu hbhv… pb hbhv… rxu hbhv… DUH ORFNHG! EDWWOH PH!!!” It yelled so loudly Yugen had to cover their ears as they felt the whole station rumble. Was this the cause of the twins' downfall? They could think about it later!
Yugen couldn’t lose a second as they yelled out commands to their pokemon, “MONO! USE TAUNT! ZEPHYR USE WILL O WISP!”
Yugen’s Pokémon sprang into action as Mono took the strange being’s attention by quickly circling it and floated a good distance away. Snickering and yelled out curses towards the monster that made it even more angry as it lurched forward towards Mono. Trying to attack her. Zephyr went in front of its trainer and summoned forth small but fiery wisps as it all sprung in different directions as the being stumbled forward. Yugen winced and felt their whole body jump when its hands and face slammed towards the ground. The fire of the wil o wisp made it catch a burn as it then started to limp more as they howled in agony in every step it took. But before it could stand upright. Yugen took this chance to yell out.
“Zephyr! Swords Dance! Mono, Shadow Sneak!”
While Zephyr was raising their stats, Mono took note of the being’s shadow thanks to the flash and quickly flew in, making a good solid hit behind the being as she snickered even more and returned by Yugen’s side. But before the Shuppet could return to her trainer's side, the being snarled and lunged forward towards the Shuppet, their twisted arm suddenly swirled with a dark aura as a huge fist soon appeared and slammed the Shuppet down into the ground. Mono squeaked in pain as the being laughed loudly as it then jumped back but winced in pain due to its burn. Mono lifted herself up from the ground and weakly flew towards Yugen, who was taken aback at how the monster could use their arms like that. No wonder it was broken.
Yugen whispered to Mono, “Are you okay?” Mono shake the feeling off as they chirped up. Yugen smiled in relief and was silently thanking themselves for leveling up their Pokémon well enough a few weeks prior but that could wait for now.
Yugen called out, “Zephyr! Use Night Slash! Mono! Use Phantom Force!”
Zephyr ran full force towards the monster, before jumping and waved his head as the blade on their head grew larger with a dark blade covering it, cutting the monster straight from right to left, making it stumble back. Landing a critical hit. Zephyr jumped back in front of Yugen. Who whispered encouragement towards their absol as he nodded in response, giving them a quick glance of acknowledgement. Meanwhile, Mono took her chance and turned herself invisible but in doing so, the monster’s red eyes suddenly emitted a strange purple glow as it held its broken arms up. Zephyr moved out of the way in time but Yugen accidentally took the brunt of the move. They stumbled as they held their head, cursing under their breath.
“Dammit! I didn’t move in time!” They mentally yelled. Their eyesight became blurry as Yugen desperately tried to stay awake but they couldn’t no matter how much they wanted to. Yugen could feel their conscience fade as everything soon went dark.
Not before hearing a familiar voice say, “Forgive me.”

Into the Subway Train Pt 3
Yugen felt the wind pass by which in turn made them shiver. (Which was the result of Ingo’s loud booming noise) Their flashlight started flickering from the strange wind as they shook the item.
They mused themselves, “Ominous wind? Sounds like a Pokémon move.” They chuckled to themselves as they continued walking.
Yugen said outload to themselves to break the atmosphere, “You know… I heard that you shouldn’t say a person’s name in a forest because that will mean the name of that spirit will follow you. Confusing with them that you’re calling out to them… but I’m not in a forest so it’s free reign then! Haha just kidding."
Even though Yugen was laughing, it didn’t reach his eyes as he continued to talk. Despite Yugen not saying the older or the younger twins name, he still kept making conversation as if he was talking to them. Despite not really confirming who he was talking to.
“Sooooooooo, how long have you been a train conductor?”
Yugen was met with silence but he kept talking. “I see. Not talking. Silent treatment? Understandable… Since I was one bit of a troublemaker… uh I hope you’re not too mad about that one time!”
To which Ingo stopped his protest for the trouble seeking passenger for a bit and whipped his head to the turquoise haired trainer.
As he asked, “That one time?” As he tried to listen more of what they were going to say.
“I doubt you would remember me.”
“Have we met before?” he responded back to you. Despite knowing very well that you can’t hear him back.
“AAAnnnnyyways!!! Enough about me! I already wrote an apology note and everything!! I swear!”
“Did you write an apology letter? I… don’t recall reading any letter… Did Emmet read the letter before me-? Hold on just a moment! Don’t go changing the subject!”
“Soooooo got anyone you fancy~? A special romance in one’s life? Maybe even a le gasp a secret office romance~??”
Ingo stifled a laugh at that statement since it reminded him of all the times Elesa would ask something similar as well all the time Emmet tried to get some gossip from him as well. To which Ingo stated, “Having an office romance would be unprofessional in this workforce.”
Ingo was a bit surprised when Yugen responded back, “Hmmm~? I see. Not a surprising response. Kinda expected it.” Ingo was a bit flustered when they laughed out loud, “After all you do have that stiff face. I heard from your employees and your brother that you were quote and quote verrrrryyyyyy stiff at facial expressions! Haha!”
Despite him being a ghost, he felt his face heat up at that statement. He placed his hands over his chest… and squeezed it. If he really did feel his heart, make a sound. He didn’t even expect them to be talking about him! Yugen didn’t even hint that they were talking to Ingo at all in the beginning. For all he knew, you could have been talking to his younger brother which would have been a bit awkward, but their last statement began to say otherwise! Ingo felt his face heat up even more at how from the very start of your conversation, you were talking to him. He was confused at how he could feel his own face heat up! How was this even possible!? But this made him even more desperate determined to get you away from that thing before it finds you.
