top 10 most disappointing films, books, tvs etc of this decade pls?? i'm not trying to dampen the mood, just curious... (it doesn't have to be a creation from this decade, just stuff you've seen or read these past years)

Ooooh, let’s see

Movies:

* Glass (I was so excited for this, but I didn’t last more than 20 mins lol)* Anything Marvel except for Winter Soldier and Black Panther (sorry not sorry)* The Lion King “live action”* Beauty and the Beast (I love emma watson, but this was a bad movie lol)* READY PLAYER ONE (god, this was a mess jesus fucking christ)* Godzilla: King of Monsters (I didn’t even finish it, not enough monsters, i don’t care about people, i want BIG MONSTERS FIGHT)* PACIFIC RIM 2 (Idris Elba would NEVER *sobs*)* Clash of the Titans (that trailer was LIT, that movie was not)* Suicide Squad (......)* every YA adaptation that came out lol

TV Shows:

* season 8 of Game of Thrones (just ew)* Pretty Little Liars (what a mess)* A YEAR IN THE LIFE (why, Amy Sherman Palladino, why)* Supernatural after season 7-ish (if I’m being very critical, it’s after season 5 but whatever)* The Walking Dead circa season 4-5 when I couldn’t watch anymore because it sucked* Stranger Things (everyone loves it but me, I couldn’t sit through even the first episode)* every American Horror Story season except the first three (and Cult, which I loved)* seasons 5 and 6 of Gossip Girl are legit fever dreams* The Vampire Diaries after season 5... just no and why* the second season of American Crime Story - the only thing I loved was Darren Criss’ phenomenal performance

* Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (everyone loves this book, i just got annoyed)* The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (had to read it twice to be able to finish it)* You by Caroline Kepnes (hated the writing style, but LOVED the show)* 50 Shades of Grey by E.L.James (to be fair, I wasn’t expecting much, but still)* Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (I got over it, but MAN WAS I MAD BACK IN 2015)* American Gods by Neil Gaiman (could not finish this)* Without Merit by Colleen Hoover (probably her worst book imo, i just... wow)* AURORA RISING by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (forever bitter about this, it was genuinely bad and full of tropes)* The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead (wtf was this shit)* Iron Gold by Pierce Brown (my soul still sobs)

GG Revival Flop

I just want to get it off my chest. Gonna be a long one. Everyone keeps telling me to check out Amy Sherman Palladino’s new show, Maisie something or other. I don’t think I’d trust her with a brand new show after the crap fest that was the revival, though. To be fair, some of it was good but 90% of it was just...nope.

I’ve rewatched it a few times in the past year and it just seems to get worse and worse. The pointless Stars Hollow musical was the worst. It was only bearable because of Sutton Foster. It didn’t meld with the rest of the storylines at all.

Honestly, what got me the most wasn’t so much the revival itself as ASP’s lying and flippant attitude. She swore that season 7 would not be ignored....yet that is exactly what happened. It’s like, after all this time, she was still mad that she didn’t get to finish the show so instead of giving loyal fans the revival we deserved, it was all contrived, as Emily said herself, “bullshit”. The season 7 writers didn’t do a horrible job with the last season. This is evidenced with Logan who grew into a better man. For whatever reason, ASP decided to ignore that growth and turn him back into a cheating playboy. And what’s worse is that she took Rory and turned her into this terrible person. A cheater (again), self pitying...well...loser. I know that’s harsh but Rory was completely unrecognizable as a character. She certainly wasn’t the Rory Gilmore we spent 7 years loving. Thank God Lorelei was pretty much the same.

It’s clear that ASP just used this revival as a middle finger to the ones who fired her. I can almost hear her now: “Nyah Nyah Nyah I got to do my ending hahahahahahaaa” Instead of honoring the fans. I think what pisses me off the most is that ASP said in an interview that she “hopes everyone likes it but if they don’t I don’t know what to tell them, we fucking tried”

Quoting Emily again: B U L L S H I T

She didn’t try. The correct thing to do would have been properly incorporating season 7 and all of the developments not just one or two of them. All of that character growth for Logan. Instead of trying to fit her original ending into a TV show that grew without her, into characters that grew without her. Her ending did not match the characters anymore. That full circle excuse was crap. Why does Rory have to follow in her Mother’s exact footsteps? Rory isn’t the type to raise her kid without his or her father. I believe she’d want Logan around for that. Unlike Lor, Rory isn’t 16. She’s 32-33. That’s entirely different circumstances. So not only is she an aimless, cheating, whining person. She’s a pregnant, aimless, cheating, whining person. When did Rory become so pathetic?

They made this big deal about how smart and special she is yet we got nothing but

“well now she’s full circle with her mom with no job, writing a book that she has no idea if it will get published or not and pregnant aaannddd that’s the end. That’s all you get because instead of giving you the revival you deserved, I used this as a giant fuck you to the execs who fired me. Don’t like it, get over it.”

ASP came back and didn’t bother getting to know her characters again. She just launched right in and made them unrecognizable. Rory got the worst of it. So, should we get more episodes, I hope to God that ASP stays far, far away. She’ll probably kill off Logan and make Rory pregnant with triplets, give them up for adoption while no one will publish her book so she’ll still be in Luke and Lorelei’s house at 50.

I was so relieved Dean got out unscathed from Hurricane Rory. I have more thoughts on the subject but this is long enough as it is.

So Amy Sherman Palladino:

From the fans your immature ass fucked over because you used the revival as a revenge tactic instead of the storyline these characters deserved. It’s pretty sad when the creator of the show fucks up her own characters that badly. RIP Rory Gilmore 1.0. Your evil twin sucks.
