Jonny's the self-proclaimed captain of the starship Aurora (though everyone else calls him the first mate), and one of the lead singers in The Mechanisms, a spacefaring cabaret of immortal pirates with lovely voices and extremely gray morals. He hails from New Texas, he's got a heart made of metal, and he likes to play the harmonica and shoot things.

The thing with Jonny D'ville is that you don't look at him an immediately think, "holy shit, that man is wearing an obscene number of belts". No, he looks normal (for a space pirate cowboy). Then you study him more closely and belts seem to just be appearing out of the firmament, everywhere you look there's a new belt, until he's more belt than man and then the belts LEAP out of the screen and pull you in. Or whatever.
