Redrew my icon because it’s been like, a year lmao. I love that the first two only have a 7 month difference and that’s where most of the growth happened lmao.

My favorite growth I’ve noticed is both my err to realism and diversity in facial features and my recent turn to a more painterly style. This painting style does mean the colors are different bc blush and stuff messed with how yellow the skin is supposed to be but oh well. Guess I know where I want to continue growing!

The Mechanic

So, @thedeaf.artist on instagram made a challenge for Deaf Awareness Month, which basically is creating a deaf/HOH OC! I thought it was a super fun challenge, so I decided to join in!

The Mechanic (nobody knows their name, including me oop), is a mysterious figure in the Outer Rim. As a wandering figure, they set up their mechanic shop from their ship on a rotating basis, spending a couple months on each planet they stop at. Many people find themselves in the Mechanic’s shop, most of whom are Jedi and Sith alike. The Mechanic can fix almost anything, including the sabers the force users that end up in their shop wield. But every once a while, the Mechanic will produce a lightsaber, beautiful and intricate, and bestow it to another. Rare is this event, and they rarely explain themselves. Nobody knows if the Mechanic is a force user or not, or whether they have (or had) any affiliation with either Sith or Jedi, or another force religion. But regardless, other force users find them a surprising ally in the field of mechanical repairs.

The Mechanic is partially deaf on their right side. Born with a birth defect, their right montral and lekku did not grow properly. Their hearing suffered, with the hollow bone that allows Togrutas to hear mostly undeveloped on their right side. They wear a hearing aid that facilitates the unique form of echolocation Togrutas have, passing sound waves through the metal chamber and connected to the bottom portion of the montral and to the temporal lobe where sound waves are processed by the brain. They also wear weights on the bottom of their montral, where the lekku should be, in order to better balance their head and the left side’s weight better. The Togruta rarely talks, many times using Aurbesh Sign Language to communicate, but also can speak and sign a good number of trade languages useful in the area they stay in.

Mandosona

Some of y’all might know but @ollovae3 is hosting a mandosona challenge! She challenged us to incorporate our ethnic and cultural backgrounds into making a mando oc and/or mando clan! I did a bit of both!

This mando clan, which honestly doesn’t have a whole lot to it, is based heavily on Chinese culture (specifically, Han history and culture). The clan itself is one fraught with tension and infighting, often leading to periods of splintered separation and unity. This mando clan is known for its smithing, and elaborate ceremonial garb worn during times of peace. The ornamental headdress is detachable, only worn on special occasions like weddings or religious ceremonies. Hanfu outfits go along with headpieces. Together, these two pieces of fashion can denote experience, family, and other such accomplishments through life

When figuring out what my sona’s armor was going to look like, I took a lot of inspiration from Chinese armor. The chest piece has lamellar pieces, as does the kama piece. The vambrace like armor is inspired by the arm pieces worn by archers or scouts in the Chinese army. And of course, you can see me with my new haircut :))

I haven’t drawn most of my ocs in a while, including them! Luo Ke is the left, and Hewei is the right! If you guys find the introduction art I did for Luo Ke, you’ll realize I’ve changed their design pretty significantly. But! It’s still them! I’ve decided that I want to try and draw as many of my ocs as I can for painting practice cuz it gets me to draw them and also I get to actually learn and improve!

Wukong level arrogance

Okay she isn’t as arrogant as the guy who called himself “equal to the might of Heaven”, but it’s the stance and way she’s holding her saberstaff that gives mad Sun Wukong vibes.

I think this is probably my favorite oc designs which is why I draw her so much HAKDJS. In the mood to redesign a different character I have after I drew this last night…

Kreya Lev

I made another oc/character design because I was inspired by Halitrephes Maasi Jellyfish :)). Her name is Kreya and she’s a Twi’lek-Mikkian mix!! She has shorter lekkus and tendrils than normal, but she’s perfectly healthy haha. I literally have nothing else on her I think she’s wearing fancier clothes than she would usually wear. Maybe she’s a professional artist or musician or something idk.

So someone recommended me a new brush pack and there’s this one brush that’s so so good for rendering that I literally just used that brush for all the coloring lmaooo. Anyways this was really fun to do!!

Also, this is my clone OC Asch! He’s a clone commander and he’s a very tired boi. He’s the guy who shows he cares but not outwardly showing he cares. He’s like a wall. But I swear he loves everyone close to him a lot!
