Sicktember Day 2: Homesick
I didn't have a lot of ideas for this so using Zolf and Wilde. For anyone browsing the sicktember tags, these two are from the actual play podcast Ru/sty Qu/ill Gam/ing (it's amazing).
Takes place before epilogue 3, mentions of canon character death. More longing then sick/whump.
~~~~
Barely two days had passed but weight of boredom already had its long spindly fingers firmly grasped around Wilde.
The first day hadn't been too terrible as he’d kept himself busy, cleaning up after the previous days guests had left, working through the list Zolf gave him. He'd managed a few hours working on his latest manuscript. However, today all the words which had come so easily fell flat.
Without Zolf's unwanted critique and eye rolls at his ideas, writing was never as fun. With his partner away, Wilde had taken a peak at Zolf’s current work in progress, reading Jennifer's latest indulgence chased away a few hours.
Now though, knowing Zolf would be in Iceland, seeing Cel, saying goodbye to Barnes, a melancholy set in. He'd strolled down to the shore to watch the sun begin to set wishing he'd been able to accompany Zolf, but someone needed to stay at the tavern.
18 months...
18 months, he, Zolf, Barnes and Carter had worked furiously to save the world not knowing if anything would come from it.
Back in those days, not seeing Zolf for days, sometimes weeks, he'd never bat an eyelash at. Too much going on. They both knew the risks. Even with Shion, especially Shion. After he'd read Sasha's letter, that pain he'd pushed away so he could focus on the party returning, never forgetting none of them might make it back to hear her last words themselves.
Thankfully they had. And they'd won in the end.
And Zolf left again.
This still felt different. He understood Zolf needing time, telling him the room would always be waiting.
Now, that yearning of missing his partner set in. Wilde missed Zolf barking at him to leave the kitchen, rolling around him as he brought out the food for their guests, his hearty laugh which always made Wilde smile.
The tavern sat quiet.
The sun began sinking behind the water, melting into the horizon. Wilde hiked his coat up, sighed heavily and headed back to the quiet he now loathed. He was home but without his partner it didn't feel like it.
🎋❣️ for zoscar? ;)
The noise I made when I saw this prompt
allergies 🎋
soft kisses ❣️
Set around epilogue 2
~~~~
Wilde leaned forward, digging with the small trowel in the garden. In the years following the loss of magic, Wilde had come to terms with it quite easily given his issues before hand. What he could not handle was weeds; especially not ones in Zolf's flower garden.
"Come here...you bugger..." Wilde dug the sharper end of the tool into the root, finally dislodging it. "Aha!" He held the stubborn weed up to show Zolf.
"Only took your five bloody minutes." He said smirking from his chair.
"This had to have..." Wilde ran his arm over his forehead, pushing the sunhat up a bit, "Residual magic left over. This root system isn't of this plane."
Zolf heavily rolled his eyes. "Relax a moment."
Wilde wasn't going to disagree. As he leaned back, arching his back, his breath hitched. Wilde's hand shot to his face, pinching his nose. He stifled two itchy sneezes before rubbing his nose against the back of his hand.
"Pollen gettin to ya?" Zolf asked as Wilde sat down next to him.
"A bit." Wilde sighed dramatically. "I don't recall ever having allergies before we moved here."
Zolf scoffed, "You just hid them well."
"I beg your pardon, Mr Smith." Wilde's pressed his hand against his chest looking absolutely aghast at the notion.
"You also got a bit a dirt right there." Zolf lazily pointed at Wilde's face.
"Where?" Wilde rubbed in the general area Zolf had pointed. When he turned back, his life partner was directly in his face.
"There." Zolf said kissing Wilde's nose.

colds 🦠
~~~~
"Zolf?" Wilde rasped as he rubbed his badly chapped nose against a handkerchief.
"Coming, just gimme a second." The dwarf called from the hallway.
"Zolllllllllf." Wilde whined laying one arm over his head as he rolled onto his side.
"Damnit Oscar, could you not be annoying for 5 seconds?"
"No."
Wilde heard a frustrated sigh then the sound of wheels rolling on the floor.
"What?" Zolf positioned himself in the door, "I thought you were sleeping."
"Can't." Wilde sniffled hard, his face slacked briefly before he sneezed twice. "As you can see I'm suffering."
Zolf rolled his eyes, "It's a cold, stop bein' dramatic."
"Me? Dramatic?" Wilde's watery eyes saddened as his frowned. "When?" He couldn't hold it as the end of his lip twitched up.
"What was I thinking?" Zolf shook his head and wheeled himself into the room. He couldn't deny Wilde looked paler than he had earlier. "Come 'ere." He whispered pushing himself as close to the bed as he could.
Wilde shuffled over, his eyes droopy as Zolf laid a hand against his forehead. The sensation felt nice but almost immediately he pivoted away, a sharp inhale signaling another wet congested sneeze. Sniffling he groaned, laying on his back.
"Well you don't feel warm, that's good. You look terrible though." Zolf replied.
"Glad to see your bedside manner is still impeccable." Wilde croaked.
"W-well y-you do!" Zolf stammered fiddling with his hands. "Look, what can I do to help you relax so you can..." He paused as Wilde's airy breath hitched again and be covered another sneeze. "Hopefully sleep. The gods know you need it."
"Read a Campbell, don't care which. Well one of the early ones." Wilde added as he closed his eyes.
Zolf smiled, "Ah good choice." Grabbing one of the shelf he read until his partner finally fell asleep.
❄ for the holiday snezarios thing
Not necessarily a snow storm but I wanted to torture Wilde so this is what came of it XD This is an older request, sorry it took so long.
For like the two people who follow RQG this is set pre epilogue 3 but well after epilogue 2.
~~~
Zolf was midway down the hall to Wilde's room when he heard the sound that had filled the empty tavern most of the day.  The familiar sound of another wet congested sneeze. Wilde has been struck down by an atrocious cold recently, the poor man hadn't left his bed in over a day.
Wilde had gotten caught in a storm heading home from the market and although his partner said he'd been fine, a few hours later he began complaining of a sore throat which quickly snowballed into a harsh cough, congestion and painful sneezing.
Zolf's hand hovered at the door as he heard a second one then a third muffled behind the door.
"Oscar?" Keeping his voice steady proved difficult. "Can I come in? Got some tea for you...if you want. If not, that's fine too."
No reply came but Zolf heard the faint sound of Wilde shifting on his bed, the wood creaking against the floor.  "It's open." His voice strained yet heavy as if speaking took every bit of energy.
Opening the door, Zolf wheeled in, hoping to give Wilde a comforting smile but the worry in his eyes didn't help portray that ease and looking at Wilde, he knew that.
"How ya feelin'?" Zolf rolled up to Wilde's bed. His partner sat up against the headboard with a quilt wrapped around his frame. His normally perfectly kept hair was matted in the back, the rest loosely hung around his red watery eyes.
Wilde shrugged while sniffling thickly. "Impeccable." His breath wavered, handkerchief at the ready, he covered two exhausted sneezes, bending his head down, loose strands of hair jerking with his body.  Wilde held the position for a moment as if expecting another before sitting back up. The tired sigh he exhaled twinged in Zolf's heart.
"Made you some tea." Zolf said quietly, taking the mug off his tray and handing it to Wilde who gave a nod of thanks.
Sadly before he could even grip it properly, Wilde turned, hitching breath causing his shoulders to heave, the hand holding the mug shaking slightly as his cold rocked him with several sneezes.
"By the gods." He muttered rubbing his nose forcefully which only caused it to redden more against his pale complexion.  Sniffling, he then looked down at the mug. "Oh...right, yes, sorry. Thank you." The smile wasn't forced but with the deep bags under his eyes and half hearted twitch of the lip, had Zolf not known his partner so well, it might have come off that way.
Zolf reached out patting Wilde's knee. "Of course, anything to help. Need anything else?"
Wilde lowered his tea after taking a long sip. "Read to me? I can't say you won't be interrupted." He huffed a laugh which triggered a cough. "But I'd appreciate it. Any Campbell will do."
"Right!" Zolf's face lit up as he wheeled over to the bookshelf. That brought a true smile to Wilde's face.
Even on bad days, Zolf Smith made everything tolerable.

Ooh the ‘you’ve been caring for me nonstop” prompt for zos.car……if u are feeling up to it pls
Always for these two!
~~~~
"Out with it, what's wrong?" Zolf said arms crossed staring down at the man sitting in front of him in the chair.
Wilde looked away, clutching the mug of tea to his chest. "It's nothing." He said quietly before taking a sip, hands shaking slightly.
Zolf rolled his eyes before pulling up a stool sitting opposite of Wilde who still refused to make eye contact. "Oscar..." Zolf gently placed is hand on Wilde's knee, squeezing it. "You... y-you don't need to tell me, I'm worried though. You ain't been sleeping well again. I can hear you mucking around during the night. You've never been the quietest." He said smiling.
Wilde returned a weak one as he looked up briefly. Sighing, he leaned back in his chair, eyes to the ceiling. "You're right, I haven't been. The..." Another deep sigh which to Zolf sounded as it look so much energy to give. "The dreams are back."
Zolf shifted as Wilde took another sip of tea.
"I didn't want to tell you, you've been caring for me nonstop lately, I..."Finally Wilde's tired eyes lined with bags which aged his otherwise youthful face met Zolf's, "Didn't want to add to that worry that seems constant."
"Right..."Zolf said patting Wilde's knee again, "Right."
Once again thank you for indulging my hyperfixation for a small fandom. This is set around 3rd epilogue tavern time.
~~~
"I told you it was too cold to go out." Zolf huffed as he handed Wilde the blanket.
"Yes yes I remember." Wilde said rolling his eyes. "You've mentioned it many times." He sniffled while pulling the blanket around his shivering frame. The fire was helping but Wilde was having difficulty shaking the chill he'd caught.
Zolf looked up at his partner frowning at Wilde's still wind slapped cheeks. "I've got some tea brewin', should be ready soon."
Wilde nodding, sniffling again he rubbed his nose quickly. "Thank you my dear." Even with the blanket, a shudder ran through him.
"Here, scoot." Zolf motioned with his hand waiting for Wilde to move over. Pushing himself off his wheelchair, Zolf positioned himself next to Wilde. "Don't like you shivering."
Zolf's warm body holding him, Wilde relaxed slightly, leaning into his embrace. "It'll pass I'm sure." Wilde sniffled, rubbing his runny nose again.
"It better or you'll be in big trouble." Zolf said running a hand through Wilde's white hair.
"Promise?" Wilde replied grinning. Zolf could only shake his head.

🌹 for W/ilde or Z/olf? If you're still taking prompts ;)
I am and sorry this took so long!
🌹- allergies
This is set during the 18 mon time skip.
~~~~
The fourth time Zolf heard Wilde sneeze, he finally put down the Campbell and headed toward the office.
Wilde’s head was still half down from the previous one, his gaze met Zolf's with weary as the dwarf walked in. "Don't."
"Not happening. What's up with you today?" Zolf rested his hands on the desk leaning forward hoping to get a better look at Wilde.
Wilde sighed, wiping a tear which began running down his face. It was only then Zolf noticed how red, watery and puffy Wilde's always tired eyes looked.
"Oh...I didn't know you had allergies." He said.
Wilde scoffed, "I don't...but," He added seeing the look Zolf was giving him, "Apparently the incense the innkeeper lit today is affecting me." The last part was rushed as Wilde's breath hitched. Head bopping again, Wilde managed to stifle this one before sniffling hard.
"Right then, I'll open some windows and get better air in...not too much. I won't let any rain in. Maybe...go outside for a bit, clear your head."
Wilde nodded while rubbing his eyes again, another hard sniffle. "I can't concentrate anyways." He pushed up, walking past Zolf toward the side entrance. Another itchy wet sneeze shook him as he headed outside.
After airing out the room, Zolf joined Wilde under the awning of inn. "Feelin' better?" He asked taking a place next to Wilde.
Wilde shrugged, "A bit." He sniffled again. "Eyes don't hurt as much."
"Next time if something is bothering you, maybe leave, I dunno, remove yourself from it." Zolf said as Wilde stifled another sneeze.
"We need Carter at times though." Wilde said flatly though a hint of a smirk flinched on Wilde's face momentarily causing Zolf to smile.
Sicktember Day 9: I'm Not Sick
This prompt screams Japan arc Wilde, so here we go. Spoilers for post AR RQG. I tried writing it open enough that if you're not familiar with the characters and story you can still enjoy it.
~~~~
The first time Zolf had asked Wilde how he was he'd gotten the automatic, "Fine." without Wilde even bothering to look up. As expected, the man was an ass.
The second time Zolf had asked he got a look followed by a "Fine. Stop asking" to which led to a hard eye roll by Zolf.
This time though, no amount of lying, ignoring or coldness from the former illusionist could hide the fact, Wilde definitely wasn't fine. In his defense, Wilde hadn't been fine in over a year but Zolf had gotten used to his colleagues tells even if no one else saw them. Barnes had suspicions though, but had his hands full with Carter.
Zolf walked into Wilde's office, smacking his hands onto the desk as Wilde continued writing. "Wilde." He said staring daggers at him.
"Would it kill you to knock, Zolf? I'm busy." Wilde said face purposely hidden under his hat.
"Look at me." Zolf's tone was hard, perhaps a bit too hard which made him curse silently.
Sighing, Wilde finally glanced up but his placid stare went passed Zolf. The dark bags under the eyes, Zolf was used too. Even with Wilde able to sleep, they never seemed to lessen, forever etched into Wilde's still at times handsome face; a face that had seen betrayal first hand. The face ravaged by a grotesque scar permanently altering a once bright smile. Not that Wilde smiled much anymore anyways. The fact Zolf could see a lines of perspiration running down Wilde's hairline cemented his concerns.
"Take a break. You look like death."
Wilde scoffed, "Normal day then?" He went back to writing.
Zolf bit his bottom lip. "Wilde, look..."
"I'm fine, Zolf." Wilde snapped finally making eye contact with the dwarf. "Now why don't you go make yourself useful or sod off."
Zolf threw his hands in the air and stomped off, angrily sliding the shoji closed. "By the gods, you won't be happy until you're dead."
The innkeeper quickly vacated the kitchen when he saw the livid dwarf approaching. Even if he didn't understand either of the people whom taken over his inn, an argument was still an argument in any language.
Roughly an hour later, Zolf stood once again in Wilde's doorway, arms crossed staring intently at the man. Wilde did not acknowledge him.
"Do you have to be such a stubborn fool?" Zolf finally asked. "I'm a cleric for god sake, I can tell your..."
"I'm not sick, Zolf." Wilde cut him off sharply. Zolf scoffed.
"Oh really? So you're the cleric now?" He asked walking forward. "When was the last time you ate or slept?"
Wilde sighed and rubbed his head with his free hand then motioned to the mostly eaten food Zolf had given him yesterday.
"Wilde, you're no good to this fight if you're dead." Zolf said forcing his tone to soften.
Wilde remembered Grizzop saying something similar back in Damascus, that felt so long ago. Wilde's shoulders heaved another sigh. "What do you suggest then? A vacation? Leave all this? Forget the world is nearly lost just so I can get nap?" Wilde's pale face glistened with sweat.
"I...eh...no of course not!" Zolf replied, "I'm not saying..." He paused closing his eyes momentarily. "Wilde, I know better than anyone how hard you've been working. How dedicated you are to all..." He gestured around, "this. But I see how it wears on you, I see how exhausted you are. I...I can’t heal you...you know that." Zolf's tone lowered.
Wilde ran a hand over his face. Zolf wasn't wrong. Even he could feel the heat radiating off him. "I know." Damn anklets.
"Running yourself into the ground won't help anyone. It won't bring anymore answers to the weather or that weird island or whatever else you have banging around in your head."
Wilde finally put his pen down. "Fine, I will..." He pinched his eyes, ignoring the growing headache, "take five, if you promise to leave me alone after."
"No but you knew that already." Zolf said as Wilde stood. Well tried too at least, he swayed catching himself on the edge of the desk.
Zolf was already next to him, the height difference made supporting Wilde extremely difficult but thankfully being basically a waif meant less weight to steady. "You're burning up."
"Very perceptive of you." He'd tried for sassy but knew he wasn't in the head space for it. Wilde didn't argue when Zolf led them both to a bedroom.
"Sit." Zolf said then left room, again Wilde didn't fight. The cushion already felt a hundred times better than the hard chair he'd barely left in two days.
A wave of full exhaustion slapped him enough Wilde finally laid down. Zolf returned with a basin of water and a towel. With his hat removed the effects of his fever showed more predominantly as his hair curled around the edges of his face from the dampness.
"Definitely look like death." Zolf said as he rinsed the towel then laid it gently on Wilde's forehead. Wilde couldn't stop his eyes from fluttering closed.
Maybe Zolf had been right, maybe he had needed rest. He heard the sound of Zolf's footsteps heading toward the door.
"Thank you Zolf." Wilde whispered. The dwarf didn't reply but Wilde easily pictured the look on his face.

Hi Can you do a sneezy Gabriel because the ragweed this fall is much more potent than normal :)
One miserable Fessor coming up!
~~~~
"Are you sure you don't want to try some?" Liam asked again.
"Absolutely." Gabriel replied wincing as he wiped his nose. "I highly doubt any ointment would bring relief at this point." He sniffled thickly. "Heavens, I can't recall...a..." Another wet sniff interrupted him, "time fall allergies were this awful." Gabriel ran a finger along his red rimmed watery eyes clearning away the ever present tearing.
"Well your allergist did say ragweed was more potent than normal this year." Liam said
"Yes, I remember that conversation clearly." Gabriel snapped shooting a glare at his partner then immediately looked away seeing Liam's reaction. "Apo..logies, my dear." Gabriel sniffled again rubbing the folds of his depleted handkerchief across his poor red raw nose. "I-I didn't mean..."
"Don't fret, love." Liam mimicked his boyfriend's tone as he ran his hand along the nape of the professor's neck. "I just wish you could have some relief."
Gabriel exhaled, "I know I...I just...oh no..nnnn...not ah ah...again..." Pitching forward a tsunami of wet itchy allergy sneezes erupted from Gabriel.
H'kntsh! Hp'txdt! Hhh...hhtshtxxt!
Tears streamed from his eyes which were pressed shut from the wave of sneezing which didn't end for nearly a minute.
N'dnxt! Hh'kxdt! Ek'tshxjhhw! Hhh...heh'hhtsjuhh! Ehh'tssshxjuw!
Liam grabbed another handkerchief for Gabriel as the fit began to wind down. Taking the fresh one Gabriel gave several congested blows into it which sadly only triggered a tickle resonating through his sinuses. Another string of helpless sneezes followed before he was able to finally regain himself. Sadly both knew this wasn't the end, Gabriel's allergy fits seemed to last forever lately. Liam had clocked the previous one at nearly 30 minutes before Gabriel finally stopped.
"W-when...can..I...I...ehhh..." Gabriel clasped the handkerchief tightly over his glistening nose fighting every temptation to continue the attack. A few moments later his death gripped lessoned making his nose flare even redder momentarily. "Take...meditation...aga...aga...ah...hhhh...oh no p-p-plea...eshtshew!"
Liam's heart sank watching his love fall into another fit. Once Gabriel started, it was hell getting him to stop, it reminded Liam of how the professor reacted to lavender. Pulling the still sneezing man closer to him, Liam massaged Gabriel's head which he assumed was probably aching. He felt each convulsion against him as Gabriel's breath hitched and heaved. Finally after another minute or so the current fit ended. Neither moved, only Gabriel's hand holding his cloth dropped to his lap. He sniffed hard, a small groan escaping.
"I'm sorry, love." Liam whispered before kissing his boyfriend's head. "Would you like a damp cloth for your eyes?" The writer could only imagine how puffy they were now.
"No..." Gabriel rasped then cleared his throat. "I...I feel another...fit arriving soon." Another deep rough sniff. "I...want to lay against y-you until it...comes.." His hand came up digging fiercely at the side of his nose desperately trying to quell the itch.
Liam closed his eyes as he listened to Gabriel's ragged tired breaths. "Anything you wish my sky."
Heyy kaze, how's it goin'? Was missing tma this week and was wondering if I should start rqg or not.. do I need to understand dnd or anything? Also, your writing is great--keep at it!
Oh god yes please start RQG. You don't, they play Pathfinder and they explain a lot of stuff in the beginning episodes. You'll understand most of it as it goes on pretty well. Also the prologue is a bit slow but it contains a lot of important info for the campaign. I've known people who skip it and go right to s1 and been fine but I'd personally not do it. RQG is amazing, it's still my fave ttrqg. (And it has whump).
And thank you!🥰🥰
Please let me know if you start!! Also audio quality in the beginning isn't great because it was legit their first production and didn't have fancy equipment, it gets better and is fine by s3.
