I remember as child, this is the only gateway going to Atimonan, other part of Bondoc peninsula and to the Bicol region coming from the metro. Those dark creepy large woods in sight wet and slippery road heading to the poblacion carry an elements of risk. Some locals tell stories of paranormal activities in this narrow road. We call it zigzag road others call it bitukang manok. I used to hear news of accidents, cliff falls and disasters to the vehicles passing this road. Rock falling and landslides are prominent in this area. But above all those stories, I enjoy passing through this road because of the sight, overview looking the vehicles below and the picturesque view of the nearby towns. Some drivers even fear traveling this path due to the curves and elevation minding their old model vehicles. For some its an adventure. Going back when Saudi Colors, the largest national program in the kingdom dealing with photography arts was launched in the kingdom. This photo was selected to be printed on the wall and I was excited to witness the event. The seventh edition was held at Riyadh International Convention and Exhibitions Centre for 4 days in Dec 2018. We were honored to be a part of the activity. Treasures of China From March 26 to April 14, 2018, a joint team of the Chinese National Cultural HeritageProtection Center and the Archeology and Museums Department of the National Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in Saudi Arabia completed a project for surveying and excavating at the ancient port of Srin on the Red Sea coast. The site contains large quantities of Chinese porcelain, a number of tombstones, some fragments of pots dating back to different periods and examples of pottery, glass and volcanic vessels. Chinese porcelain finds discovered in the port of Srin include white porcelain of the Song and Yuan dynasty, and the remnants of Celadon of the Lonquan kiln style. Weekend in Riyadh If you've lived in Riyadh for a while and haven't yet tried desert camping, you're losing out. It's a tradition-rich and serene hobby that's at the heart of Saudi culture. Saudi Arabia's beginnings are in the desert. Bedouins have lived in the desert from the dawn of time, as did their forefathers. I have been with this awesome group of 4x4 guys who just want a break from the city. No issue with the heat, good-natured people. Though others may think we're crazy for camping in the summer, I think it's fantastic. Camel Parade Why are camels important in Saudi Arabia? Camels are so vital in bedouin culture and their daily life because these animals provide them food, raw materials, transportation and wealth. Camels in the kingdom are used for milk and meat, though very rare as a means of transport, they are also used in racing. Camel racing may appear weird to visitors of Saudi Arabia, yet it is one of the Arab world's most traditional hobbies. Camel racing extends back to pre-Islamic times, and the custom of breeding the strongest, fastest, and most attractive camels is still alive and well today. This shot is taken in Taif where a flock of camels are trained for their race guided by this handler. One of our favorite thing to do outdoor is spinning fire playing the light it creates on a long exposure mode. Our spinner is @thedarkman25 with his strong arm and heat resistant body, can rapidly rotate the ball of fire for about a minute or two. @bertsafari can do more but prefer to take photos instead and so does yours truly. but Joel can do it better. Took a lot of tries and failed attempts, somehow we got some usable shots out of those efforts. we continue the night camping and had a wonderful view of Daqhla lake.
