Ok I like the idea that Dante used to be a member of the original L corp as an employee for the Extraction team. It would be cool if they were specifically the employee who had Express Train to Hell extracted from them back in the first lab. 1. We know from wonderlab that all of the Lcorp employees use they/them and I've seen people mention that is because there was no place to record the gender of employees in-game? I have no idea if that is true and I would think it is slightly less fun than just a 100% cast of characters without gender on random chance all working for the same place - but for the sake of my crack theory let's assume its true for a second here! (I think it's a hilarious theory in many ways and I enjoy the absurd concept of LC somehow stealing employees' gender but I will not go into that now.) 2. We also know that Dante has the same 2 weird dot's on the front of their clock that Express Train to Hell has. That lines up with many of Vergilus' lines about going to hell and the whole Dante's Inferno pile of references and why the bus is actually looking like a train. I don't remember if it's implied or mentioned but Faust built both the train and Dante's new head so I'm pretty sure they're connected (they at least seem that way visually) 3. I think it is funny that rolling the gatcha for characters uses the same term extraction as the process that Binah was in charge of for filling up the lab with abnormalities. Binah mentions that Carmen and cogito basically do all the work inside someone's head and then the extraction team pulls it out. I'm assuming that means making the abnormality a physical separate entity. Binah specifies that the employees don't watch or listen to what they are doing - they just follow her instructions. She implies looking too hard into the eyes of the employees who are injected with cogito and are extracted from would cause many people to go mad.

How does this relate to what Faust told Vergilius in leviathan? I wonder how similar the strange cogito state is compared to how Charon lost her memories of being Lapis. It's possible that when Faust mentions Vergilius can save Lapis and Garnet she is referring in part to restoring Lapis' original identity. This would line up with the motivation (assuming Faust was telling the truth) to make Vergilius sign on as the Limbus Company Guide.

And if this theory is true that opens up a lot of interesting ideas for what the company is after. If the original employee super dosed with cogito is looking into 'the well' of human consciousness or whatever the phrasing was - what will they remember when they wake up? What is on the other side in there - is limbus company after that information? Do they know something is there and they want more details? Do they want an example that the theoretical way to rehabilitate people from this state works? Did they pick Dante on purpose due to some properties of the Express Train to Hell - or would they have picked at random with any intact employee they could find? It feels more like a mission a corporation in the city would realistically take.

Do they want to become the next L Corp? Are they looking for that singularity to replace them? It lines up as a feasible way they could do that while taking they actions they have so far in the story i think? It's another silly crack theory but I enjoy thinking about it all :)

I need yi sang to get more moments playing chess with sinclair and don I want him to get more moments goofing around with gregor and heathcliff He's gotta spend more time with ryoshu talking about poetry and art He is at his worst right now holding onto this belief that nothing matters and everything is worthless when some bad events happen in the future. It seems like he has been for so long (since Gubo or that other person had him around? the 'i'll look so you don't have to + just be quiet' bits?) but he also clearly still has moments of life he loves.

It sucks seeing his friends talk around him so much. I think its very intentional that yi sang doesn't seem to have a lot of dialogue in his focus story. He's been basically trained himself to repress everything and is probably very used to those friends talking over him and assuming his intentions as fuel for their arguments. This is not to say they aren't all friends and don't love each other but clearly the corps and stress of their separation has warped all of them.

The bit where dongbaek is explaining she was trying to kill him because it was what he wants and gregor stands up for him trying to argue you can't make that choice for someone else? That feels very indicative of what situation he's been repressing himself under for so long.

Hating life because he can only see it as fleeting moments of worthless effort before it's ruined by forces outside his control. Then whenever he could express himself he has others speak in his stead assuming things, correctly or incorrectly, and cutting him out of any personal connection to the situation.

It's awful feeling so disconnected from everything! Compounding that with the people trying to recruit him who seem to only want him for something he's created. That separation of the people he trusted and them possibly shifting to repress him in this way - even with good intentions - is so so crunchy.

I mainly assume he has stopped talking or doing as much because he doesn't believe its worth it? That living life is worthless because basically existing as a function to make the mirror and nothing else he does matters? because even his few friends are broken by the events of them splitting and assume things and control him instead of talking to him like a person?

I even feel bad trying to analyze him a bit cause ultimately I'm doing the same as others in the situation. Watching his actions and assuming what he's thinking without his input.

I would not be surprised if his sin ends up being shutting down back then and letting others control him. He has opportunities but by now he won't take them - either because it was useless before or he was too scared or depressed to.

It makes sense to me he is at his most talkative in ch1 sort of fresh after they were all bribed to join Limbus Company with granting their greatest wishes. Despite hating life he probably still wants something better and is actively trying to reach it.

He is still trying! He's somehow preserved through this state and is still living hoping for something to change! I think he still deep down does want to live!

I think yi sang is a very quiet but strong character and if the dungeon is good it's going to ruin me!!

I want to see him grow more comfortable with others and take opportunities like the others give him to learn to express himself again. Regrow his sense of self and get to a place where he enjoys life more and less moments are written off as worthless!

After reading a few summaries of the untranslated chapters of leviathan and playing the story content in limbus i have like 3 theories of 'who' dante is but i will write out one of them at least because it makes me sound insane and i think its funny spoilers for limbus + leviathan bellow!

(dante accidental spoiler saver - if you don't want spoilers get out of here!!! also bolded text at the bottom for a kind of tldr on the theory...) ok so supposedly at the end of the last leviathan chapter after vergilius is done manifesting his own ego and kicking the shit out of [redacted] one of the pods opens and lapis is inside! But she is calling herself charon and doesn't remember Anything. I always assumed lapis was charon but I wasn't sure how they found her so now we know! Also [redacted] shattered Garnet's cocoon towards the end of the fight so everyone is incredibly upset (it's me I'm incredibly upset) but as charon is getting out of the pod and standing up she picks up a piece of garnet's shattered crystal cocoon / self! Vergilius gets a call and we discover that the lab was in N corp this whole time which is really ligning up to set them up as the primary antagonist force of the first part of limbus. The footage of the lab with all the orphanage kids in it was from N corp and apparently seeing the inside of a N corp lab is taboo so N corp raided Vergilius' base of operations and gathered up his remaining allies. Unclear on if they were killed immediately or taken but rip either way. Then faust and the lccb show up in the lab and faust tells dante if he works with limbus company she can save both lapis and garnet???? so he goes with them and takes charon and the shard with him???? (which also means limbus potentially takes place shortly after leviathan making these the Worst few months vergilius has had in probably a long time) So we know from Limbus that Vergilius and Faust want Dante to find the star in their head and are using some kind of activation phrase 'engraving an aspect' or something to try and motivate Dante. I think that Faust created all of Dante (not just their head + the bus) and that they are a homunculus that was made to house a consciousness from another refraction? I also think Limbus company and Faust have their own goals and are maybe not being 100% honest about Reviving Garnet We know Garnet was the best at opening windows to other refractions or whatever it was called from leviathan. I think its likely they specifically wanted some part of him in order to get what they want. I also assume the golden boughs are a reference to the aeneid where you have to kind of trade them in order to get to hell if you want to go there by choice. We also know that the golden boughs are manifesting the original lobotomy corp rooms around them - you can look at the images especially from chapter 3 backrounds and they are very intentionally lobotomy corporation rooms. We have been to 3 different districts so far and will probably go to many more. I don't think the original lobotomy corp would have stretched so far as to go into other districts and not sure if other corps would even be ok with that so I assume the original lab did not actually do that and only sections of it are manifesting in these 'dungeons' around the golden boughs. Putting this all together I think Limbus company is stringing vergilius along as a bodyguard and need Garnet's original talent for searching through refractions to find a specific refraction they are looking for and engraving the aspect is taking their consciousness / knowledge / personality and copying it onto themselves. Given the aeneid angle about going to hell and how much limbus likes to bring it up and how going to hell is somehow meaning literally going to lobotomy corporation.... I think that Limbus Company wants to 'revive' either ayin or carmen via reflecting them over Dante and 'engraving the aspect' means to make that a permanent change. (or both of them)! I think Vergilius wants to 'engrave' Garnet over Dante instead because he wants to save him + lapis.

They're possibly utilizing the sinners to grow a personality inside Dante that will want to get motivated to start resisting the city. Maybe the closer in personality they get to their projection target the more likely the success of the engraving. Anyone they can find a suitably tragic story for and can motivate to sign on would work on that angle...? I also think that is maybe why Vergilius treats Dante differently from the other sinners. Regardless of Dante's identity it really seems like Vergilus is not mad at them or annoyed with them like he is with many of the other sinners. I also think its possible purple tear lined up events to make sure vergilius and garnet and faust all met in that lab because she needs this Limbus plan to start so that she can find her lost son. And if I want to sound EVEN MORE INSANE!!! I think its possible Ayin is Purple Tear's son. Which would explain why she needed someone from the orphanage of kids who were all children from that syndicate and were all used in the experiments to open windows and refract. Regardless of who her son actually is - I think purple tear is planning on using Dante to engrave the aspect of her son as a way to 'find' him. iirc someone mentioned in ruina that her son died years before that point so I assume she is actually trying to revive him. Also its interesting Dante + Mephi's designs are so similar to Express Train to Hell from lobotomy corp because they fit the theme and have similar effects on ticket holders! When Express Train gets tickets it heals the hp and sp of the employees or even their entire department up until it is time to depart (for hell presumably) and the train starts running through the lab and causing damage. I think its cute that is similar into Dante's ability to 'heal' their teammates - though they seem to be different since dante's power is also themed around time.

I have seen some screenshots! Some of the character designs look so cool!!! and I'm excited to see what the story is about cause Ishmael is so interesting to me! I want to know what her deal is!!! I'm not playing the game unfortunately since I what happened with how the company treated some workers really sucked. I work in the games industry too, so the idea that someone would fire / bribe a resignation of a coworker or me over something someone on the internet said is so insane to me. Especially how stupid the pinching hand gesture call is, like its crazy. I can't get over it personally haha. It could also just be the worlds worst handling of public messaging too? But having worked too many places weird shit like this happens - I don't trust like that not without some kind of external proof. I am on the fence on if I will play again or not! It really depends on how the investigation will go if they end up doing one! I love the world and the characters and I still think it is the best mobile game I've ever played!! But it's much harder for me to enjoy the themes now knowing what the company chose to do or not do in real life. So I am holding off watching the chapter for now - if I do end up feeling alright playing the game again I think it will be fun to play through an experience the story as I play it! And if I do I'll probably scream and get all excited over it then! But if I decide not to play again I'll probably just watch it at some point!

I feel like I'm constantly changing their height difference so here's some of my headcanons for them: -I think of Yesod as shorter than his canon height cause of their initial cg and I based his height around Roland's to put his head around shoulder height? -Yesod would need to be through education + probably have a little bit of work experience before he went to work at the lab so I have always thought he's older than Roland -In terms of internet pop knowledge Yesod was probably dedicated to work even before going to the lab, so if Roland has insta Yesod is probably in geocities (I feel like Roland wouldn't post much online if anything and definitely not images with himself in them? But I hc he had a small account with pictures of Angelica and simple things he likes - like good food presentation or tasty sandwiches!)

I like don and rodion a lot - rodidon!! ahdfkgjadfg I always like drawing short gf + tall gf and also rodion poking fun at don since chapter 1 and them just having a silly fun dynamic is very fun to me! I just want absolutely shredded don carrying rodion around like a princess and rodion making jokes about it but also actually thinking don is a little sweet! they could be a very good silly energy combo!! They could also have some good crunchy dynamics over how they both act instead of do more passive or analytical things. We know they both see something fucked up and jump in to act to maul whoever is doing it. I think they could respect each other for that but also it would probably dangerous to have them encouraging that in each other in the city...

Ok but like the funger mold apartments feel very different in my mind after ending C ?? (spoilers + crazy rambling below)

I assumed the mold was the direct result of the ritual but what if it's not? So hear me out - you are working through the puzzle in there to try and get the effagy - and you need the 4 of those to get to the tower and complete the ritual and 'win' but we know from perkele fight and the sulfer end that rher was not really running this show anyway?

So why would a cult that is super excited about death and murder and all that fun stuff encase people with mold and just mummify them there? The journal of the mad man doesn't mention mold at all either...?

It's possible it's a set up by Pe'rkele and the sulfur cult as part of the fun but it doesn't seem similar to the kinds of worship or other rituals that sulfur god seems to be into? The goal i thought was to ferry souls into the sulfur pit so they can suffer and be reborn or what not?

We know from what Nas'hrah mentioned when examining the sulfur symbol that knowing the name of a god means they are still in power Somehow. People in the setting still know the name Rher and poketcats still have stories recorded and other things that people Know about?

So what if the mold isn't from the sulfur god at all but was from Rher? Rher is still trying to stop whatever ritual the sulfur cult is pulling here? Rher is still about stopping new gods forming?

If you're running under the crazy thoughts that i am where the blank soul that Daan has can be used for some form of replication or possession (like in his not-really-moonscorched end?) then making a trap that would prevent him or other important people from reaching the tower would still serve that purpose?

It just feels too off to me that the sulfur god and followers who seem to revel in pain nearly as much as death would make a way to kill a whole apartment of people so... peaceful? You just kind of sit still and die in your sleep in there? It feels like it goes against their usual methods idk Also if the implication of stiches and Daan's designs are that he tried to idk reconstruct his dead wife or anything? (literally flying entirely off of speculation he could have just lost that shit in the war haha) Elise's body was not like covered in mold when he got back - she was torn up or otherwise fucked up as a corpse. And that was either the Baron's sulfur ritual or Elise's? (running under the assumption that the blue face paint that they share with per'kele is all from them being in the sulfur cult and that you have to die to join puts Elise back on the 'could be totally into this sulfur shit' zone) So why are they so different from the mold apartments?

If the symbol for the god of the depths can show up in the beehive house with a little book and such in there - why can't rher also fuck shit up with some fungus? And if you want to think about it from a turbo deranged perspective (im going full blast on crazy theories here) why is all of the mold white specifically? It is cool aesthetically, absolutely, but rher is also a similarly completely pale moon as depicted in the story. Outside of the surface deformation like craters for eyes and the mouth canyons - there are no other surface changes on that moon good. There is no color variation or anything? Almost like... ...being covered entirely in white mold...? (also kinda fits a theme line of like rotting away while trapped unable to become as powerful as the old gods in the new gods trick setup? sitting around stuck and waiting to die slowly and quietly? Kinda similar vibes hmmm) IM GOING CRAZY THINKING ABOUT RHER AND THE SULFUR GOD DONT MIND MEEEEE
