So I'm sure that we're all familiar with the "Born Sexy Yesterday" trope, yes? Where there's a woman who's alien, a robot, suffering from amnesia, etc etc and it basically renders her useless in terms of understanding herself or the world around her. And it's up to the protag, the one we're supposed to see ourselves in, to help her figure things out. Thing is though is that the protag is usually just some totally average guy, and would probably even be considered a loser by "average person" standards. But since he's the first person that the BSY girl meets he seems like the coolest, smartest, most amazing guy ever

...I just realized that in Disco Elysium, you are the Born Sexy Yesterday woman. And Kim is the average guy.

just a little something to say now that the year has wrapped up:

in the first half of 2023, I was in such a rut with writing that bg3 releasing in full bringing a wave of readers to DWMD was not remotely even on my radar as a possibility

it may be hard to imagine from the actual frequency of my updates, but everyone who has left comments and sent me messages and generally been wonderful to me has had a direct hand in getting me back to a point where I’m writing almost every day again (fic AND original stuff for the first time in forever), and that feels fucking amazing

I really can’t thank you guys enough for helping me get there. I know I’m slow, but I’ll keep plugging along through 2024 and I’m happy to have you folks along for the ride :)

Under flickering streetlights, a Coupris Kineema speeds through the paved roads. Its rider is overjoyed- the paperwork for the motor carriage to be transferred to the 41st has been finally accepted, and finally he gets to drive once more in the very Kineema he has worked with for so long.

He won't admit it, but driving in Precinct 41's motor carriage just wasn't the same, without all the upgrades he's done on his cherished Kineema.
