Okay, I really need to get this off my chest before the final episode of TKEM. 

They have to send Tae-eul back to 1994 to save Leegon or just be with him and Yeong. it would make absolute sense, the entire series would have a full circle if they. She was his guiding light, his saviour and its only makes sense if she goes back one last time to do what the entire show was based on. 

Now, I know we all knew it wasn’t really her who saves baby 8 year old Leegon, but it was her card that was left behind, he was destined to meet the person who was part ally in saving him and making him less lonely. Since, this is the last reset and things would change forever, won’t it be so beautiful for the two of them to go down or not go down fighting together?

We also now know that Leegon’s destiny was the flute and making sure it doesn’t fall prey in wrong hands, it was his destiny to die in order to save both the worlds and along the way of meeting his destiny, he would also fall in love and meet his other destiny: TAE-EUL. However, it was Tae-eul’s destiny to meet Gon and fall in love with him. She chose her fate, she chose to follow where fate was leading her. So, won’t it be beautiful if they each follow their destiny/fate as planned. He goes to kill Leelim in 1994 while she goes with him, cause that was their destiny. They were fated to arrive at the same moment together, even if not planned. She chooses to go back to be with him in 1994 to make sure: a) He doesn’t die b) If he does, she is right there with him. 

WON’T THIS BE A MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL WAY OF STORYTELLING??

Also, they both wore their glorious outfits to meet their destiny, what they were fated to do. He wore his suit, all armoured up with the 4 tiger sword, while she wore the only necklace - (physical/tangible object) she has that he gave her as her armour to go be with him. 

Episode 15 put it all so poignantly when she finally figures it out and that SHE would indeed be the one to go back instead of Shinaje, because it MAKES MORE SENSE PLOTWISE. She chooses to follow her DESTINY, AS FATE WOULD HAVE IT. IT WAS FATED TO BE THIS WAY. The entire plot had in a lot of ways led us to this and now suddenly if she doesn’t end up going, I would be pissed at KES. Reallyyyyy!!

You can’t give us a badass female character who is a detective, shoots well, can hold up her own and willing to DIE to PROTECT what is hers and not let her be the SAVIOUR or one of the saviours of the one she loves. 

Also, I had concocted this theory after the 15th episode, that she does indeed go back and goes back with Shinjae no less. So, lets say he agrees to let her go because she said I will die here if I don’t go save/protect the person I love, wouldn’t he feel the same way cause Tae-eul is that person for him?? So, it would make absolute sense if he goes with her. Plus, he knows the back story of how to save Leegon cause Leegon tells him and in so much detail (breaking of the glass dome ceiling which would make the alarm go off that would distract Leelim from killing 8 year old Leegon and thus save him). Technically, Leegon this time wouldn’t have broken the ceiling because he doesn’t want Leelim distracted, which would mean he would let his 8 year old self die and take a shot at Leelim. 

Now, what I assume would happen...Shinjae would partner up with Tae-eul, tells her he knows how to save baby 8 year old Leegon,  to go together and do this and come back together, if there is a coming back that is. So, when you see Leegon and Yeong entering the palace in that slow walk preview, the ceiling is already breaking. That means, that TAE-EUL AND SHINJAE are already there? They have already distracted Leelim and temporarily saved baby Leegon. The 4 of them then have a better chance at making this work than just Leegon and Yeong. CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW COOL IT WOULD LOOK FOR ALL 4 OF THEM TO DO WHAT THEY MUST? SAVE THE PERSON THAT THEY LOVE AND MAKE SURE JUSTICE PREVAILS, SAVE BOTH WORLDS. Because again, that is their DUTY - as The King, Royal Guard and Two other world detectives.  They ALL ARE AMAZING SHOOTERS, so why won’t they just go back and do this?

However, the reason I am writing this long ass post is because i feel this theory and narrative i have thought may not actually take place. Cause I’ve seen enough spoilers and the more I see the more i feel that Tae-eul infact doesn’t go back for whatever reason. She ends of stranded in 2020 Republic of Korea only and has no other choice but to wait. I just wish this wasn’t the direction the writer took, I’m still a bit hopeful of course because I won’t believe it until I see it. 

Cause they did show us her leaving the house wearing the necklace, but sadly that is all that they showed, so there are various possibilities of things still going wrong along the way. Maybe Luna decides to escort Leelim inside the portal instead of Tae-eul cause she ends up liking Tae-eul and wants her to stay with her Dad. Or Shinjae somehow decides to go alone with Leelim ditching Tae-eul (I’ll be hella pissed if all the boys get to be badass and be saviours in this and leave Tae-eul out and her only job now to wait, NOOOOO, I WILL NOT HAVE IT) I would like to repeat again, they can’t give us a badass female character who can take care of herself, doesn’t need saving and save those she loves and not make her fight back.. C’mon KES, don’t disappoint me!! 

Also, if she doesn’t end up going and eventually forgets her memories, however not enough or just until she sees Lee Ji Hun to get them rushing back.. and then she waits while being supremely depressed. ISN’T THAT GOBLIN’S STORY? 

Now, The King:Eternal Monarch has come a looooooooong way to end just like GOBLIN. Again, will not have it. Plus, there were too many parallels drawn between the two shows that if you give us more or less the same ending then that’s just gonna suck and gonna open this show to so many haters. I personally like THE KING a lot more than GOBLIN. No offence to Goblin fans, it was a beautiful show (the best) for 2016 standards and I was in awe of it. But the king is a step up for Kdramas in a LOT of ways - storytelling, characterisation, character build up, OST, references, the mystery and intrigue so much so that we still don’t exactly know which way the show will truly end. The endless possibilities. 

So, this post is A LOT OF VENTING, because I wan’t Tae-eul to go back and to see Leegon’s face in that moment would be beautiful. The 4 of them together shooting bad guys would be ANOTHER ICONIC MOMENT, One for KDRAMA (KES) BOOKS. Believe me when I say this, if its better, I would be the happiest. However, not keeping my hopes up cause I’d be disappointed. I already half way am cause of the photos i’ve seen of Tae-eul unconscious at the bamboo forest. 

I swear I’ll be so pissed at Luna if she tries to pull one, more angry than when she poisoned Gon or stabbed Tae-eul. Coming in between FATE. 

Anyway, this is it for now. Sorry for the LONG ASS rant. Another day to gooooo. 

I will indeed miss this show, no other has made me feel this much angst as this one. <3 Just pls don’t ruin it with stupid writing in the last and final episode. 

Also, shouldn’t the finale be atleast 2 hours LONG, so much is left to tie up still.
