#lena vs the truth seeker

Note
Supercorp Goddess, have mercy of this hungry fandom... May we have another snippet of Lena and the Truth Seeker?
I’m starting to run out of material here, and I’m not sure where I was going with this. But here, enjoy what I have left! It picks up where we left off:
"And that's why you're here, Miss Luthor."
The Colonel opened her file, and began flipping through the pages.
"I've been reading up on your previous involvement with the DEO in the past year, and I've learned that you successfully synthesized kryptonite."
Lena kept her mouth shut.
"I'd like to talk about that."
"There's nothing to talk about. I surrendered all my synthetic material to the DEO in exchange for continued participation in the Worldkiller project. My notes and protocols were surrendered as well."
The Colonel nodded. "Trouble is, our top minds haven't been able to successfully recreate your results."
Only then did Lena smirk. "Well, that's hardly my fault, is it?"
Haley's face hardened minutely, and Lena quickly moved on.
"I don't have any further stores of green Kryptonite. It was either depleted battling Reign or bequeathed to the DEO per the terms of my agreement with Supergirl. You want it, take it up with her."
"You misunderstand me, Miss Luthor. I'm not interested in green kryptonite."
Realization poured over Lena in a flood of electricity. Every nerve stood on end, and her jaw tightened in reflex. But she held Haley's gaze, and refused to speak first.
"Says here the DEO ran into a sample of kryptonite that was black in color. It did cause Supergirl discomfort on contact, but I'm more interested in the effect it had on the young woman who held it in her bare hand.”
Lena regarded the Colonel with an even gaze. Haley smirked. “And before you claim you don’t know anything about this black kryptonite-- don’t bother. I know that you manufactured more so that Supergirl could send it home to her mother.”
“I wasn’t going to deny anything,” Lena returned easily. “The DEO has all my research on the harun’el, just like they do the green kryptonite.”
“How to make it, sure. And our people are doing their best to follow along. But I want to know your research on the… human applications.”
Lena didn’t need more than a look to make her decision.
“I have none.”
“And that’s where I stop believing you, Miss Luthor.”
Lena shrugged. “That’s the thing about science, Colonel. It’s not about what you believe. It’s about fact. And the fact is that I don’t have anything to share with you.”
That made Haley pause. The room fell quiet, and Lena suffered the Colonel’s gaze for as long as it took. When the Colonel pushed back from the table, she was too smug for Lena to feel any kind of victory.
“You’ve worked with the DEO before, Miss Luthor. You’re familiar with our protocols: we appreciate efficiency too much to beat around the bush.”
Lena didn’t bother to respond. The Colonel motioned to the guard standing watch at the door. The man opened the hatch, and a cart came rolling in. On it sat a tank of blue fluid, in which a distinctly alien life form floated.
“Allow me to be perfectly honest with you, Lena-- and please allow my candor to encourage reciprocity. This alien is what we call an interrogative aid. As soon as it makes contact with your skin, you will be compelled to reveal any hidden truths they may seek to hide.”
Lena swallowed. Her started to pound-- she could handle a repartee, but the illegal application of alien organisms was another matter entirely. Though Lena kept her features neutral, Haley seemed to sense her growing alarm.
“It may cause some discomfort, but only if you resist. I recommend you don’t-- I understand such efforts to be... futile.” The Colonel regarded her coolly. “I would rather not have to use it at all.”
Lena met Haley’s gaze with a determined glare of her own.
“Bite me.”

Very curious about royal AU (DARK????) and Lena vs the truth seeker!
The royal AU is currently just an outline, so I’m going to give a snippet of Lena vs the Truth Seeker first. It’s something that was really rich and vibrant in my head for a hot minute, but then cooled off as soon as my attention jumped to something else. Here’s the first bit:
When a cadre of NCPD squad cars came squealing into the parking garage as she and Kara walked back to the car, Lena knew something was off. She has ears to the ground, and not one of them hinted at an active warrant. The uniforms of the officers who emerged with guns drawn confirmed it. The discrepancies were small, but Lena marked every one. She'd frozen for just a heartbeat before she felt Kara crowding against her in alarm. "Lena..." "It's fine," Lena told her. Kara grabbed her wrist, and met Lena's eyes with a fearful gaze. "Just stay quiet and do whatever they say-- don't interfere." She didn't know exactly who they were dealing with, but it wasn't NCPD. She led by example, stepping away from Kara on command. Lena followed their instructions to the letter: divesting her purse then taking five steps back before kneeling on the rough concrete and placing her hands behind her head. The officer who cuffed her wasn't as gentle as Detective Sawyer. The metal pinched her skin, and the hands that hauled her back to her feet wrenched her arms painfully, but she didn't say a word for fear it would spur Kara to action. Her heart began thudding in her chest the moment the car door slammed shut, sealing her inside. Danger screamed at her, but she couldn't do much about it with her hands locked behind her back and a metal grate between her and the driver. Her only hope was Kara Danvers, and the trust that she would contact Supergirl to tell her what happened, when Kara made her way to the precinct only to find she wasn't there. That hope dwindled to nothing when the car pulled into the DEO parking garage. Shit.

Lena vs the Truth Seeker? Sounds interesting. Please, Tell me more...
Lena vs the Truth Seeker is one of the ones where-- even though I have no idea where I intended to take it-- I actually have a good chunk of the beginning written. So here, have another little piece, picking up where the last one left off:
They drove down to the bottom level of the garage, and then through what seemed to be a solid wall to continue driving further down, down, down, each twist of the car's path further sealing the hopelessness of Lena's fate. They didn't bother with any form of processing. They marched her through unremarkable gray corridors and into an interrogation room. Before forcing her into a chair, they moved her manacled wrists to the front, and used a second pair of cuffs to tether her to the table. Then they left, and Lena was forced to wait. She waited, and waited and waited. A million indignations bubbled up in her mind, primed and ready for the next person to step through the door. For Alex, who she first expected to march in on some order from Supergirl, then as the hours passed, Lena hoped would come riding in to release her. When the door remained shut and out of reach, those scathing soliloquys evaporated. Hours ticked by with agonizing slowness, marked only by her deepening hunger and the increasing discomfort of her restraint. When the door finally opened, it wasn't Alex or Supergirl who entered. Instead it was a tall woman with strong features and an intense gaze. That gaze turned on Lena the moment she sat down on the far side of the table. Silence stretched between them for tenuous moments, until Lena decided she wasn't in the mood. "I'm not speaking to you without my lawyer." "Why?" The woman returned smoothly. "You're not under arrest." Lena didn't respond. "You're not even in custody. In fact, no one knows you're here." "And before you assume that you have 48 hours before we charge you, I feel obliged to remind you that the Patriot Act allows us to hold you indefinitely. In fact, we have no intention of charging you at all." The Patriot Act applied to threats of the nation. The prospect chilled Lena's blood, but she maintained her composure. The DEO may have the Patriot Act, but she had her name, and as such her absence wouldn't go unnoticed. They wouldn't risk holding her indefinitely or infringing too far on her personal liberty without running the risk of exposure. "And what exactly is Supergirl saying I did now?" A hungry light sparked in the Colonel's eyes. "The DEO has terminated its relationship with Supergirl."
Oh. That... wasn't good. Abruptly, Lena wondered how Director Danvers took that news. On its heels came a new chill of apprehension. She and Supergirl didn't agree on a lot of things, but at least Lena could trust that Supergirl had a line she would not cross-- somewhere between asking James to spy on her and unlawful imprisonment, there was a line where her moral code kicked in. Nothing about Colonel Haley suggested she had a similar line.

WIP Challenge Meme
Thank you for the kind tag, @gveret-fic!
Rules: below are the names of all some of the files in my wip folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. send me an ask with the title that most intrigues you, and i’ll post a snippet or tell you something about it!
I actually went through my phone and archived all of my phone snippet/notes onto my google drive so I could participate. It took way longer than anticipated, but it ended up being a good thing because a) I revisited ideas I hadn’t seen in years, and b) it forced me to collate all my notes into usable pieces.
That said, there are some things on there that were completely random and no longer made sense to me. I kept them, but I didn’t list them on here because I no longer remember where they were going. The below list is all Supercorp unless otherwise indicated.
Winter Olympics AU
Daxamite Baby AU
Nuclear Winter AU
Mummy AU
Children of Liberty AU - Guardiancorp
Post Crisis AU - Lena doesn’t retain her memories
OUAT AU
Season 4 Finale AU
Lena has a Stalker

Pacific Rim AU
Assorted S4 Agentcorp Snippets
Supercorp Red-K Scenario
When Lena Met Reign Sequel
Not gonna lie, some of the snippets may have already been posted, it’s hard to keep track. But if I haven’t seen them in a while, you guys probably haven’t either, so it’d be a nice revisit anyway. So, hit me up!
Tagging anyone and everyone who has been waiting to be tagged but hasn’t been.

Moooar Lena vs truth seeker it's amazing
Sorry, I don’t have any more written-- we have reached the end of the WIP.
But I think I intended for Alex to sneak Lena out (after the application of the Truth Seeker, which is agonizing for Lena but her boxes are good for something so she’s able to resist and not share anything” and hide her at Kara’s place-- Lena doesn’t know Kara is SG, obvs, but “Supergirl has a bead on Kara at all times, if anything happens to you there, she’ll know about it.” And then Supergirl visits and they FINALLY have a long chat about the kryptonite issue from S3, and all the while it turns out that Lena still has the Truth Seeker on her arm (because Alex didn’t know how to take it off), but it doesn’t hurt Lena at all during the conversation because Lena didn’t have any desire or reason to lie to Supergirl.
And then it’d probably lead to Kara revealing her identity to Lena, as a show of mutual trust, and no longer having any reason to hide anymore, now that the Kryptonite thing has been hashed out.

The lena vs the truth seeker idea is on hold. Don't worry, it's for a good cause. There's kink involved.
